Just wondering if you could tell me what physical signs you get when you ovulate?
I have never ovulated before (at least I don't think I have) and I am currently on CD16 of a 150mg Clomid cycle. I had a US on CD10 that showed a 10mm follicle.
Today I have been having quiet sharp period type pains, which I have not had before? My cervical mucus is wet and slippery but I haven't had any EWCM (does everyone get this?)
I have been BBT too and the last few days have been...
12/05 36.41
13/05 36.44
14/05 36.26
15/05 36.44
Any help would be great. Thanks

Sam, not everyone gets EWCM. For some women, the most fertile mucus they will see will be the wet and slippery stuff you have now. From those few temperatures you've listed it's hard to say. Do you have a FF chart? Is your clinic doing any other monitoring apart from the day 10 US?
I had pains for a few days leading up to when I ovulated, I found later (after a sustained temperature rise had occurred) that the pain I had actually stopped when I ovulated. My ovaries were still fairly tender after hyperstimulating, so that could have contributed to things.
Are you doing an IUI this cycle? If not, I think I'd be BDing like mad for a few more days yet.
Hey BW
Thanks!
It is all so confusing.
No IUI this cycle...but if this cycle is bust then I will go onto injections and IUI.
These pains I am getting are just crazy, I have never experienced it before.
I haven't put my temps into FF yet. I am going to do that tonight and see what it says.

The pains you are describing are definately ovulation pains!!
I get them every cycle... sometimes more painful than AF pains!!!
Mine range anywhere from a small "pull" to a pain thats like a stitch, to a dull ache, to pains that feel axactly like AF pains.
I usually bloat up for 2-3 days over ovulation... and am like BW - as soon as I have ovulated, the pains stop. (Bloating however stays around and just increases until AF - Lovely!)
If you still have pains, then I would be bding like crazy until it stops!!
Any increase in CM (even if its not EWCM) at this point would be the right stuff you need!!
Hey Holly and BW,
Thanks so much for your advice.
I ran out last night and bought an OPK and it was negative
My temp this morning was 36.41 too...so I am thinking it is a bust. I was so hoping that my temp went up. I still have slight pains today but nothing like yesterday so far.
Here is a link to my chart anyway...http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1a62dd
Thanks again.

I have only ever had a tiny amount of EWCM twice.
I use OPK's because I only get the O pain on odd cycles and temps only tell you after you O and temps consistently stay higher. If you use LC, they are really affordable and makes guessing more accurate, at least for me it does.
And temps don't always dip before O. Mine usually does but sometimes doesn't.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Hey Sonya,
Thanks
It is all just such a guessing game...this week I have been so mental over it. I was really hoping that Clomid would eventually work for me! And to come to the realisation that it hasn't is so upsetting.

Don't rule yourself out of the running just yet, Sammy. I didn't ovulate until day 20-21 of my last cycle, using letrozole. Which may also be another option if clomid just isn't working for you. I also have a friend who was successful with clomid, but didn't ovulate until much closer to day 30.
I know it's frustrating, but you're not completely out of the running just yet! Hang in there a little longer.
The brand name for letrozole is femara. It is a drug that is usually used to treat post-menopausal breast cancer, but can be used in a similar way to clomid. I take 2 tablets for days 4-8 of my cycle.
From memory, clomid stops the body from seeing the estrogen that is there, and then fools the body into ovulating. Letrozole stops the body from making estrogen, it uses a different mechanism in the body to achieve the same outcome. I have more information on it at home - I'll type some up for you when I get home from acupuncture tonight.
