    Infertility and natural medicine

Hi all! I'm pretty new to this forum and am very interested to know what natural remedies and therapies people have been using for female infertility issues.

I've been seeing a naturopath for about a year and been taking herbs called menstrocare for my hormones, and a natural thyroid supplement as well. Also just started Accupunture this week too.

I've also been reading about remedies for blocked tubes this month(as I'm worried that might also be an issue with me), and found info about fallopian tube massage and also using a heat pack and I've started doing that this cycle (only supposed to do that til ovulation). I've read about a remedy called 'cinnamon and poria' which is also supposed to be good for blocked tubes, and would like to try that too!

Would be very interested in hearing about anyones experiences, success stories or current stages regarding natural therapies and ttc.

    Hi there,

My naturopath (in Melbourne) has me taking a herb called buchu to assist in the clearing of my blocked fallopian tubes. I've been on it since October(ish?) but haven't had any follow-up HSG/Levovist study done which can shed more light as to whether it's working or it.

Perhaps worth looking into in your situation?

    Thanks Aurian!

I will definately look into buchu and will also ask my naturopath about it at my next appoint! Would love to hear how you go on the herb, and what the results are when you get your followup tests done if you don't mind sharing.

    Good luck!

    Hi Ladies,
Just wondering how you have been going with the supps? I've just been put on polyfem, ovarianne & mentrocare.

I have some positive news about that actually. I had a blood test last month mainly to test prolactin (cos my main issue has been high prolactin) and it came back about 690 mIU which is still high (needs to be below 500). Was a bit disappointed with that result cos even tho it was lower than previous tests, it wasn't lower by much (only about 40mIU).

But then I had another blood test last week and it came back 212 mIU!

I have also been on a dopamine drug from specialist so that may be the main contributing factor, but I also think the herbs and accupunture have been helping. My skin is definately settingly down since being on menstrocare (cos I've always suffered with acne), but it has taken a while cos I have been on menstrocare for 6 months now. But I think herbs just take longer to work.

Have my appoint with specialist next week, so will be interesting to see what he says.

Good luck with the sups you're on! Keep us updated!

    All the best,
    Josey

Thats awesome news about your prolactin levels!!

I've noticed his month AF is longer - Do you think that is normal? I've been on polyfem & ovarianne for about 4 days, had af for 6 days now (the last 3 have been brown discharge) and I dont know if its too early to tell or if these supps are supposed to 'clean' me out?? AF for me usually lasts 4 days max.

I've been trying to google polyfem, ovarianne and menstrocare but can't really find anything useful - Do you know of any sites I can visit to read a little more on it?

    Hi Josie

What is the dopamine drug you have been on? does it increase or lower dopamine levels?

    thanks,

    Kate
