    IUI advice?????

Hi, everyone.DP and i have just decided to give IUI another go since financially at the moment we cant afford to do ivf just yet.I'm going to see my gp monday to get a referal and just wondering if anyone can recommend a fertility specialist in brisbane (especially someone that has success with IUI)

I didn't have success with IUI, but I was very happy with my FS at QFG. I don't think we're meant to mention Dr's by name here though...? But I've heard plenty of good feedback for lots of the Drs there. I go to the clinic at Spring Hill.

i was seriously considering going to QFG. My best friend went there years ago and saw Dr DeAmbrosis.i made a few enquiries with his clinic yesterday and he bills for the iui cycle once its been done so taking bill straight to medicare its only the gap to pay really. that will make things even easier we tried iui nearly two years ago through another clinic.i think the fsh dosage i was on was 48iui??? and i got two follies 16-18mm and another around 14.Bfn from that cycle.im trying to think positive about iui but i guess after this long ttc i dont have high hopes of it working and expect to still need ivf when we can manage it

I'd be curious to know how you go if you see him. He's one I'd seriously consider switching to if we ever felt the need.
I don't know if pricing is consistent throughout QFG, but we were only around $100 out of pocket for each IUI. I only mention it because I have a friend who was paying over $1000 out of pocket for IUI's up at Caboolture!

I think they said would be between 100 and 150 oop which im quite happy with.IUI i had feb 2008 i think it was about 300 oop where i had it done.Ive been told that Dr De does have a good sense of humour and and that he will try things a different way to some other drs if things arent happening.

And i know what you mean about costs at some other clinics, i made enquiries with monash at sunnybank and yeah it was going to be over a grand oop.Dp's mum and sister work in the kitchen at sunnybank hospital which i think is the doorway next to the ivf clinic.....woulda been nice to have his family bring us a cuppa and some biccies if there had been in our budget lol
