    Is there any chance?

Yesterday I got a positive opk on CD45. Didn't test the day before because I had kind of given up (we are doing IUI Nov-Dec) and last cycle i had a positive opk for 2-3 days. So I don't know if it became positive yesterday or the day before. I waited all day for DH to get home from the Grand Prix at Phillip Island, but I didn't tell him about the positive. So DH gets home at 10:30pm, sunburnt, no voice and tired (4 hours sleep the night before) So we tried anyway, but he was practically falling asleep. half an hour goes by and i just gave up, it wasn't going to happen
Yeah I know we can try tonight, but really, what's the point? Every time I get lucky and ovulate (every 2-3 months!) DH always has a problem on the most important day! Weather it be too drunk, too tired, performance issues from pressure. I've had it, this was our last chance before we go through an expensive, invasive procedure. This is probably a vent, but I need advice too.
So I guess what I really want to know is when you have several +OPK's when is the egg actually released? The first + or the last +? I'm am about to test again and I have a feeling it will still be positive. Is there any hope?

I don't know anything about OPK so I am no help there. I say DTD today anyway. With DD2 we were DTD and then stopped once I thought I had O (went off pains and CM). 2 days later pain and CM again so we DTD and I am pretty sure that was the night DD2 was conceived

Goodluck hun. I hope you get O and don't need the next step in your TTC journey.

Hopefully DH gets home early today. I tested again and it's still positive, but not as dark as yesterday. Sadly I don't think we have a chance

I could very well be wring, but I was under the impression that it's 24-48 hours after a + opt that the egg was released? I would try again tonight

I have read that too, 12-36 hours. problem is I didn't test the day before, so I think it may have been positive from Saturday. When I tested yesterday it was really dark at about 4pm. Calling DH now to see when he will be home, it's early.

I have long LH surges and can get a +ve OPK 2 days after a temp rise. However, O can happen 2 days either side of a temp rise as well.

You might as well give it a go. If you dont, you'll definately miss the egg. If you do, you might get it. Dont give up on hope.

Thanks ladies. I'm just devastated because last night would have been a sure thing. It's hard because I don't have ewcm to help and I don't temp. And I guess the fact that we are doing IUI makes it more important because it is our last chance for a natural conception. I hate getting a bfn and hating myself for not doing everything possible to make it work.
    I hate feeling like this

    Hurry up DH!

You can always give it a go. I O about 36 hours after the LAST positive, and the egg can be fertilised up to 24 hours after it has released. Best of luck hun. I know all too well the "last attempt" before moving to assisted conception.

I would dtd tonight. You just never know in this ttc business. Dont give up. You need to soldier on, I know how hard it is.

One positive that comes with IUI, is the absolute pressure that comes with ttc on demand is rempved. You can unwind that month and let the IUI do its work.

Your DH needs to go on a health kick after his big weekend away, my DH gave a sample after a big weekend and it was the crappiest quality. He wouldn't do that again. Now is the perfect time for him.

Bengal, do you mean drinking wise on the big weekend? DH drove yesterday so he didn't drink, but the night before he had a few. Can't thank you enough for your help, I dropped off DH sample last week and we are having our second appointment in a few weeks.
