Got a BFP! But don't want to get our hopes up

Hi Everyone. Ok I know the nurses told me not to but I couldn't help it...I just had to take a HPT......it was a BFP! My last pregnyl shot was Friday 2 Jan and my BT is due on Tuesday 6. The BFP was very faint.......do you think it's the pregnyl?? I was thinking of testing again tomorrow morning (day before the BT)

I am wishing you all the very best B2B

I did a HPT every day from 5DPT just to test when the booster would be out of my system! lol everyday i got a BFP lighter, stronger, then lighter again this went on until my BT which turned out to be positive but MC. so i cant answer your question with regards to whether this is a true BFP or booster still

I have however read someladies say it can take up to a week, others calculate it at a loss of 1000 a day so if your last injection was 5000 iu then it will take at least 5 days to leave your system

I hope someone can shead some more light for you

    Hi baby2bee
I just wanted to wish you all the best for tomorrow. In my experience pregnyl can stay in your system for a whole week - but it also depends how much you have had.

Goodluck hun I hope you get a great result from your BT!

Hi Baby2Bee, I am wishing with all my heart it is a BFP for you. Just grabbed this from the internet

If you had an hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) shot and want to take a home pregnancy test, you must keep this in mind. Approximately one half of drug is removed each 28 hours and so for accurate results you should wait at least 12 days and preferably 14 days from an hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) injection to be confident that a qualitative test is giving a reliable answer. If you test too soon after an hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) shot, you might get a false positive. Most doctors recommend that you wait 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection.

So an injection of 1500 should take around 3 days to leave your system. Fingers crossed for you and all the best for your BT tomorrow.

Thank you for everyone's responses! As it turned out I wasn't pregnant which in the end I half expected. What a great lesson for me though. The nurses DID tell me NOT to take a HPT as it would show a positive result. With all the symptoms though I still decided to take a test, which came up positive, only to result to in a negative blood test. We are now on a 2nd round of IUI and I WILL NOT be taking a HPT this round. It actually helps with the nerves as well!!
