Hi, I was just wondering.......If you have irregular cycles do they give you provera or something similar to start a cycle for IUI? Or do they make you wait? Or do you not even need to start a cycle?
TIA![]()

Im assuming all clincis have different protocols?? but at our clinic when we did IUI, all was just monitored using bloods every few days from about D10 from memory. It was very similar on the 'medicated' cycles but I was never given anything to start a cycle.
Sorry, thats probably no help!!!!![]()
It would depend on the woman and on the clinic. If you want it, ask for it. Are you excited?

Hi there,
My cycles have always been all over the place. Before I started my first IUI I had a blood test to determine if I had ovulated or not. I hadn't, so started two weeks of provera and AF started about 4 days after stopping.
My periods were so erratic I was more than ok with taking provera rather than potentially waiting two months for AF to arrive!!
Good luck
Yeah, I think is depends on your clinic and how irregular your cycles are. For example, mine generally come between 30-40 days but the FS gave me a script for Provera incase I needed it... I didn't bother
Thanks everyone, I ovulated last Sunday so AF should come in about a week or so. I have noticed that this cycle and last cycle I ovulated on CD45, with a 60 day cycle. Weird isn't it? It's like it's regular irregular cycle!
So that means I probably wont O for another 40 daysMy appointment is Nov 14th.
Yes Maruschke, I am very excited. I just hope it works! I see you are waiting to O by your ticker?
