LH surge noticed in blood test pre EPU

Hi everyone,

I had my scan and BT this morning, (8 follies reacting well to Puregon) phew !

However when I got back to work, the nurses rang and said my LH was elevated and I should inject Orgalutran straight away, (which I did) , back into the clinic tommorow moring early for another BT to check if the Orgalutran is working ..

Should I be worried - is this common ???

Its out first attempt at IVF , and my FS booked my EPU for next Tuesday

Hi,

I wouldn't be too concern. The extra Orgalutran is to ensure that you don't ovulate on your own until the trigger is given. In my 2nd stimulated cycle I had to boost up the synarel (similar to Orgalutran) because my hormones were still to high (inappropriate for the down regulation) and then my Estogen level was too high before pick up and they contemplated whether they should move my egg pick up day 1-2 day earlier but the doctor just reconfigured my meds and I had pick up at the scheduled day.
