know anything about taking the pill to time a cycle?

Hi girls
just wondering if anyone has had to manipulate their cycle with the pill to line o date up? My fs has told me about it as my dh works away alot. He told me that wheni get my period I take the pill I count it as day 1 and I start clomid on day 2 ect.
But how does this change my cycle from before?
Guess I have to get it clarified by my fs!
Anybody do this before?
After ttc nearly 3yrs you think of have it all down pat by now lol.

I know that a lot of American IVF clinics put their patients on BCP to "synch" their cycles. I've never heard of using the pill in the same cycle as clomid (or other fertility meds) though. I thought the way it works is that you take the pill for however many days you need to adjust your timing, then stop, get the withdrawal bleed, which you treat as CD1 and then start your treatment cycle as normal, but with CD1 on a different day to what your natural cycle would have produced.

I took the BCP on a down regulation cycle of IVF, but haven't done it with Clomid. I'm a bit confused about what he has said to do? Are you to take the BCP and then stop to time a period and then take the Clomid?
