I just wanted to share with those who are struggling to conceive due to abnormal and/or immotile sperm.
After trying to conceive for 12 months my husband and I decided to get some testing done. After doing a sperm analysis tests we soon dscovered that he had 98% abnormal sperm with 72% being immotile. The doctor recommended doing a second test to confirm results, the outcome was much the same. I had numerous testing done as well but was given the all clear.
We went to a fertility centre where we tried one cycle of IUI, but no such luck. We decided that we would wait til next year to start IVF treatment, HOWEVER 8 months later we fell pregnant naturally! I am now 4 months
The only considerable changes we both made to help improve fertility was to cut down on the alcohol and limit the fast food intake. Now im not saying that this is going to cure everyone who is suffering from male related infertility. I just wanted to express that there is still some hope left. Remember there are billions of sperm in one ejaculation, thats an awful lot even if only 2% of them are good strong swimmers. After all it only takes one!
hey there - thanks so much for the story - and congrats to you both - we are onto our
3rd cycle and i have been fairly gutted over the last 2 failed attempts. We already have a daughter through IVF and were successful on first go so i am struggling with this time round but nice to see some positive news.
thanks for sharing.
So great to hear your news! Hope your pg goes well and easily! I just wanted to share a similar story- When we got married, we got pregnant naturally after 3 months, although I miscarried a month and a half in. We didnt event think we had a fertility problem, a yr and a half later of trying, we went to fertility drs and finally found that he has severe asospermia. When we told the drs we had achieved a natural pregnancy, they didnt believe us! They said it was impossible, but it happened and I have the blood tests to prove it! So ladies and gents, miracles can and do happen, and never give up hope!
Wonder, its so great to hear some great news about other people who are suffering from MF problems.
Just a little update - I am now 28 weeks pregnant and expecting a little boy on the 6th June. Pregnancy has been a relatively easy one, except for those 1st 12 weeks of course.
Lizlolly keep me updated with your attempts. Fingers and toes crossed for you!
