Great news there, Shannon! Good luck for the next FET, too.
Urologist appointment went well... he was on time, and we were in and out in 20 minutes. He does think a repair is worthwhile, but can't guarantee just how much it will improve sperm quality, but we'll try anyway. Also thinks the embolisation rather than ligation is the way to go and is referring us off to some surgeon at RPA to have it done, rather than a random local guy. All up, quite happy with that... and DH is happy that nobody's talking about scalpels near his 'nads any more!

BW - That's great that the appointment went well.
PMSL at your DH being happy that no one will be going near his 'nads with a scalpel!

HI everyone - I'm just popping in quickly before I go have a snooze (but I'll be back later).
BT was positive!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooohoooooooo
HCG level 220.
The nurse kind of spoiled it though cos when she rang up she asked me if I had started bleeding. My heart dropped, thinking well if she's asking this then it must be negative. I said, No why? Then she said, oh well that's good, your pregnant then!!!! WTF?
Apparantly she HAD to ask to make sure nothing had changed since this morning. Weird!
Anyhow, I'm soooo happy! But exhausted from the worry, so am going to have a nap. Let's just hope everything just sticks nicely now!
-
Carrie that's fantastic! Congratulations and lots of sticky vibes being sent your way

Carrie – Woo hoo – great news.
Boo – I am in the same situation as you – No AF (only 2 days late for me), and sore BBs. Not sure if it’s the BCP or the Synarel or both, but I feel a bit odd. I liked my old predictable 28 day AF. I’m tired and moody – DH is a lucky lucky man. :)
Ellie – hi, and welcome.
BW – I’m sure DH is very relieved – men are very protective of their bits and pieces. It’s good that you have something to do now instead of just wait – even if it is only a trial.
Shannon – hope the lap recovery goes well, and it’s good to know they found nothing.
Nic – can’t believe they needed both arms for your BT. Oww.
All that talk of pizza (BG and Sazz) now I can’t think of anything else
Have a good weekend everyone :hello:

Just posted on your other thread carrie, but again a big fat congratulations!!!!!!

:wall: What an afternoon!
I realised that today was 11 days since the egg collection, which meant it was the last day to get the discount on the anaesthetist bill... and do you think I could find it anywhere?! NO! After phone calls to DH at work (not here!), the clinic (all the scientists and nurses who can access that information have gone for the day) and generally turning the house upside down (again! after last night's search for the damn referral letter which turned up in DH's car) I found contact numbers for the anaesthetists on some information from the clinic... then managed to ring them and pay over the phone with the credit card - phew!
Now I'm really confused about how the whole medicare thing works... the clinic information has suggested that we'd only be out of pocket somewhere between $500 and $750 for the full stim cycle. I took the receipt to medicare today, and the refund figure they quoted me left me with around $1200 out of pocket - not including the non-claimable blastocyst culture fee... I'm really confused as to why our OOP is so high, but I've got no idea where to start looking to find out exactly why, and I'm simply not in the mood to try to begin searching just now!
First letrozole tablet tonight... I'm starting to feel a bit scared and nervous already.

Carrie  congrats once again on the BFP, that is wonderful! Grrr at the nurse for making you panic like that! All the best for a H&H pregnancy, hopefully we'll all be joining you soon.
Kotare - I've been sleeping heaps too, i must admit though it is nice to go to bed and fall straight asleep instead of laying there for hours! Hope AF doesn't keep you waiting too long. I keep getting cramping in waves but she's still not here.
BW - have you already paid for EPU? Not sure if it's the same everywhere but my clinic told me i can't claim it all back until after the EPU. Good news about DH :)
Shannon - glad to hear they didn't find any endo. Hopefully the lap has done the trick and your next cycle is successful
Sonya - this is my first cycle to, as i said above i'm finding i'm needing more sleep to. Other than that how are you finding it?
Nic - How did the BT go? I'll have to read up on your journal when i have some free time.
Sazz - lol i wouldn't say the syranel is tasty but it's not as bad as i expected. Hope your scan went well.
Hi to everyone else :)
-
Bw were any of the items listed related to the hosputal admission for the EPU. If so you can take the medicare statement to your PHI and get some more back. Also when we went to claim back from medicare MIVF had not processed all of our payments to them thorugh medicare. Medicare will not pay out on those items until they have proof that you have paid your portion. It got very confusing...I ended up going to medicare three or four times to sort it all out but I am guessing maybe you weren't paid out properly because the IVF clinic may not have processed all its bits through the medicare system at their end. Its worth checking out anyhow.

Hi Boo. i guess its the Synarel making me feel drained- i keep telling myself its practice for pregnancy. i started my ivf cycle on the 20 march and now have been on Puregon for 3 days. So far apart from a little soreness for 1/2 hour after injecting i have had no problems. i just hope its working. i remember reading past posts and people mentioning a swollen ovary feeling. none of that here. its like i am still only on Synarel. the Synarel did delay AF by a full weeek and now i cant sleep without an upright fan on me coz i must be a few degrees warmer in body temp than before. otherwise so far IVF isnt really interfering with day to day life. i go for blood test next wednesday and hopefully levels are fine and i can have ultrasound thursday and then trigger. they said if all goes to plan i should be having EPU Sunday week!!!! but at the moment one day at a time.
-
Hi ladies
Carrie - Congratulations!!!!! You can sleep well now!
I too am going for a nap...EPU all done...13 eggs..on Friday 13th!!! Felt fine until I got in the car then chucked the whole way home. DH was so sweet...while I was in theatre he had 'borrowed' a few of thoses lovely spew bags and put them in the car...just in case...came in handy...scared a few people at the servo when we stopped for fuel...I wonder what they were thinking
So...until tomorrrow...11am...the fertization phone call...here's hoping!!!
-
Ellie, it's a very nerve-wracking wait! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a really good rate for you!
I've decided to put the medicare thing out of my head and to deal with it when I'm finally out of the OHSS and AF from hell brain fog. Until then, I can run around in circles and get nowhere without even realising it.
BW

Well done with 13 Ellie!! isnt that a coincidence that it is fri 13 as well.... hopefully you dont need those spew bags anymore, but if get to EPU next week i will tell DH to grab a couple just in case. Rest up and good luck with the first of your phone calls tomorrow.
-
Congratulations Carrie on your positive Blood Test
Ring and double check with medicare.
I have written down everything in my TTC Journal that I could think off. Its all a bit blurry now. My head is throbbing. Short story, only option is IVF/ ICSI

Hi girls,
YAYYYY Carrie! So glad you can relax a little now that you have the official results. GRR at the meanie nurse doing that to you. I'm sure she could have done it a different way even if it is necessary to ask that.
Well done Ellie on your EPU. Great numbers! I hope I can do as well as you. I hope you feel better soon and your phone call tomorrow is just as promising.
Shannon, Hooray you can cross Endo off your list of worries. That must be such a relief. Hope you recover quickly from that nasty Lap. I remember it well and that was nearly 10 years ago for me!
BW, Hooray about DH nads being safe! I'm glad the appt went well for you two. Another thing less to worry about now.
Sonya, I aggree about the synarel making you tired. I really feel it now with puregon in me too but I also was thinking it is nothing compared to how preg. must feel so I am thinking of it as a warm up!
Boo & Kotare, hope AF gets her thing done for you when she is supposed to so you can keep on track.
BG, how are you feeling today hun? Are they just going to let you stop drugs or do you have to wind down/take something else? Hope you are coping ok.
Summer, Nic, Megan, Mel, Female, Loula, Smudge, Holly and anyone else lurking... HI. I hope you are all doing ok.
Me, I had my scan today and after TWO nurses having a look, and prod and squeezing my tum etc they finally found they could sorta see my left ovary which they measured 4 follies on and said there are probably lots more because they measured TEN on my right side!!! Horray! That is the most I have ever gotten at scan so lets hope they are all good ones and can give an egg each. I have to go an extra day on puregon to get levels up or size up, I'm not sure which, so I will be having trigger sunday night and EPU on tuesday. It is a bit of a bummer organising work around it but bad luck, they will just have to cope. hehe. I asked what my levels were today and they said 6.2. What does that mean? I have only heard ppl here talking about 1000's.... is that 6200???? I wonder. I am sooo looking forward to getting to EPU because I am getting quite sore (especially after uncomfy scan today!!!).
Hugs to all from Sazz

hi all - so much happening today!!
ellie - congrats on the eggs - good luck with the fertilisation rate
carrie - woo hoo - yay on the posiive BT - the nurse must have given you a decent old scare though!
BW, Summer, Sazz - have written in your TTC journals
sorry for no more personals - have had a long day - appointment for lymph node scan was supposed to be at 4.50 - got a call at around 4.30 asking me if i could reschedle - they were running behind and need to have everything closed down at 5 on the dot this afternoon, is it at all possible to reschedule to next week. so scan not done - have to have it on monday afternoon - i guess in some ways that's better. i'm not too uncomfy at the moment, and would rather not have had the scan until after the weekend - less time to wait on results!! silly way to think i know, but studied medical science at uni, and if i pick up parts of comments from the technician, i'm likely to stew on what they might mean, and i'll do my head in if i'm not careful!
-
BG - Bummer about the scan having to be rescheduled!
Summer - Replied to you in your journal.
Boo - Hows things? All good here :) Have to go in to get the results, they won't give them over the phone, but I wasn't planning on doing it over the phone anyway so that's cool! Will go back in a couple of weeks or so and get all the results at once. Will probably take me another 6 weeks or so as I'm trying to make appointments in around DH's roster.
Ellie - YAY for 13! and on friday the 13th too!
Sazz - Goodluck for Tuesday, hope there are plenty of eggies :)
Nic
-
Sazza- great result from the scan today and Yay for OPU on Tuesday!! The extra time would just be to grow the follies a bit. Hope you get some good ones!
Ellie- Good to hear that EPU went well, 13 is fantastic! Rest up tonight. I hope you get some nice numbers tomorrow too!
Sonya- That’s good that you’re not having too many side effects. Hope the BT and scan are good next week.
Shannon- Great to hear that the Lap went well and you have no further problems to worry about. So you are like me – PCOS and male fert. Problems. Hopefully the FET will go well this cycle :goodluck: Have a good rest over the weekend.
Boo and Kotare- Hope AF turns up soon for you both!
BW- Goodluck with starting the meds tonight! Can you call accounts where you do IVF? Accounts at MIVF are always really good at working things out for me.
Hey BG- Bit of a pain about the cancellation, but you’re probably right…less time to stew on things. I’m glad you’re not feeling too uncomfortable.
Hi also to Nic, Summer and Mel and thanks everyone for your positive vibes and congrats. I just hope it all goes okay now. And I hope that lots of you will soon be joining me!!! I'll be popping in often to see how you are all doing. Thanks so much for all of your support and listening!
