Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 #3

    Congrats adgirl, how exciting!

The nurse from my clinic called on behalf of the fs on Friday, and said that ultrasound looked good, and that he thought I would ov on Saturday. I thought that was odd, I hadn't had a positive opk yet and no fertile CM. Told us to BD at least Friday and Saturday.

DP obviously didn't understand the importance of that, and promptly fell asleep on Friday night! I was pretty upset about it, but we still BDd yesterday, and then I think I had a positive opk today.

Still don't really trust what I'm seeing with the OPKs, got +ve this afternoon with a Discovery brand one (very similar to first response), but still negative on ICs and CB digi (pink not purple).

I guess all I can do is keep BD daily now until I get temp shift... hopefully I'm not so unlucky that I get a follie of that size but then not actually ov! If today's +ve opk is correct, I usually ov the next day, so this would officially be the shortest ever! Bring on the TWW. Glad we are going to Melb for a long weekend to keep my mind off it.

Welcome Frog and Dee, and big congrats, Adgirl.

We've been putting off the next and probably last stim cycle, having just moved house. I might go for the cycle after next, but I'll just see how I feel by cd1. My cycles have been so badly screwed up since the mc/D&C, I feel like my body maybe needs the break. Thinking of trying some Chinese medicine in the mean time...

Hi ladies. I was hoping to join the thread again...

We are looking at ivf again a little later this year or early next year. Currently just plodding along and hoping for a miracle! Currently CD 3. We are ore off to see the GP tomorrow to get a new referral to the FS and are thinking about discussing Clomid with him in the interim.

Will try and read back as much as possible and see where everyone is up too x

Welcome Jasmine. Fingers crossed you get a natural miracle.

Pholi have you tried acupuncture yet? If this next cycle doesn't work I think Im going to look in to it. Unfortunately there arent any linked with my clinic so could be a bit of investigating to find someone specialized in ivf.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 #3

Thanks for the welcome Jane! I am a big believer in acupuncture during ivf. We had acupuncture during our last FET which resulted in our DD. Fingers crossed you can find someone who has good knowledge of ivf.

I saw my GP today and discussed options regarding starting another round of ivf. We used up all our frozen embryo's last time round so will be starting from scratch with a fresh stim cycle. Aiming to get started in October. As suspected the GP recommended we start clomid this cycle and continue with it till we see the FS. So for the next few months we shall plod along with clomid. Is it ok to stay with you ladies in here? I checked out the TTC with clomid thread but it doesn't look like anyone has posted in there in a long while.. X

Thanks for adding me to the list Tubbypuff

Frog did you end up getting a temp shift?

Pholi how are you going? I have done lots of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the past. I believe it worked for me, but if not it certainly helped clear my head space.

So I called my FS today and found out we can get an appointment in as soon as 2 weeks, but was a little disappointed to find out their fees have increased a bit since we were there last! There is a 'low cost' ivf clinic that has opened up closer to home and they charge about 1/3 of the out of pocket cost. I'm not sure if they are worth investigating or if you kinda 'get what you pay for' so to speak? Has anyone ever used / investigated a low cost clinic?

Jasmine. I am with genea which is pretty expensive but they also have good success rates. I would want to know their success rates for live births at the low cost clinic before switching. Because if you uo having to do morr cycles than your current clinic then you might not end up in front.

Afm I have my FS appointment for post op check up and also to talk about what this blood clotting disorder means moving forward. Cant wait for some answers. But think I also have the flu so feeling a littly blah today.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 #3

Thanks for your advice Jane. Deep down I know that sticking with my current FS is likely going to result in the best outcome. I have done a little research on the low cost clinic this afternoon, found out that one of the ways they save money is by using fewer meds and stimulating fewer follicles. Last time we got 10 eggs and ended up with 3 embryos to freeze. Out of those 3 embryos 2 failed to implant and 1 is our precious DD. If we're going through another stim cycle I want as many follicles as (safely) possible!!!
When is your next appointment with the FS? I can imagine you would be going crazy waiting for answers. Fingers crossed your blood clotting disorder is easy to overcome. I was found to have some blood clotting disorder (can't remember what though), FS put me on asprin for ivf cycles and until 12 weeks into pregnancy. I was also on Prednisone but not sure if that was for something else.
Hope you start feeling better soon x

    Hi Jasmine

Fingers crossed for some good news tomorrow Jane!

Tubby you have been busy, hope you had a great birthday! What will you be studying at Tafe?

AF arrived on Monday, so that puts me at CD3 today! On the progynova and prednisolone tablets now. I'm finding my temper is a lot shorter than normal, and I'm having some little hot flushes, is this a side-effect do you think? I didn't have this last time..
