Ah, crap! When I put the pregnyl in the fridge yesterday, I didn't noticed that one of the powder ampoules for my trigger had fallen out of the box. I only found out when I got it out to do the trigger! I was able to use one of the booster shots instead, but now I'll have to ask for another to replace it. So annoyed that the nurse didn't put it back in the box properly (she took it out to show me how to do it even though I told her I'd used it before) and that I didn't notice when I was putting it in the fridge!

And I cut my finger on one of the ampoules just to complete the experience...

Awkward bugger!!! I think I've got one here, but that's no help to you all the way up there.

ouch Juniper! I cut myself on the vile the first time I use prenyl and managed to shatter the whole top! At least they'll replace it for you x

Cd1 for me today and don't I know it, I feel like someone has a knife to my insides...hope these pain killers kick in soon :-(

Oh juniper! I have cut myself before on the vial too - how annoying that you need to get one replaced too cause of their fault.

Well scan this morning shows my lining has not increased at all. I am so angry at my body & also the fs for the fact they werent even going to check it again & let us do the transfer. I have cancelled this cycle - font want to waste and embryo, the money & the emotional stress it puts on us. Am very upset though. The clinic will ring me this afternoon to say where we are going to go now. I so wanted to be pregnant by the time I turn 34 but that's not happening now. I always had a limit of need to have children done by 35. Running out of time now - we will be lucky to get one at all.

Hi girls I need some advice.
For those of you who have done a HRT fet what does it involve & if you get bfp do you have to continue pesseries/crinone till 12 weeks? I reacted so badly to both during my ivf cycle am really scared of having to use it again - I was waking up at least 4 times a night drenched in sweat.
Another option I have is doing an ever so slightly stim cycle involving about 25mg gonal-f. I need to ask them about my ivf cycle cause I don't think my lining was fantastic either.
Third option is to do another natural fet cycle (I don't want to waste months & months of cycles being cancelled due to my thin lining).

Yes, with a HRT FET you have to stay on progesterone (and oestrogen, I think) until 12 weeks because your body isn't producing any on its own at first, so you have to stay on them until the placenta is well and truly producing enough. I was offered clomid for my first natural FET (I declined because I had awful s/e on clomid), although that can thin your lining, so probably not a good option for you under the circumstances. If you go for the natural cycle, I'd probably ask about starting the monitoring earlier so that you have a bit more time to try to improve the lining if it's thin again. By the time you found out this time there wasn't much time to try to fix it.

So back from the FS appointment today ladies. I had a good chat to him basically wanting to know if anything has changed in IVF since I've seen him last and if I am seriously wasting my time planning a cycle at almost 43. He said I'd definitely be doing the slow release drug elonva cycle and something new which involves a nasal spray around either the egg release time or the egg collection time, can't quite remember but it's got something to do with the 'mimicking' the natural order of things in the body, sorry I sound vague. The other thing he said that Monash is almost at a time when they will be only doing frozen cycles, as in no fresh transfers, as they get a lot more success with FETs. We spoke about the PGD testing and again he said it's worthwhile doing if there is about 8 to 10 embryos, so he wouldn't recommend doing it it on 2 or 3. He said that it cost around $3500 extra a cycle, and if an embryo is going to make it it will, otherwise it won't result in a healthy pg. He also said it's worthwhile re checking my AMH levels, and so I am off for bloods on Wednesday to check that plus all the other standard BT. Sooooo a litle bit to think about (especially about the PGD testing), but I am guessing by the time the results come back from the BT especially the AMF test which takes 2 weeks, I will be doing a June cycle. My 'new' AF is due 7 May (long story but I had a mid cycle AF which threw out my regular cycle), so the AMH test won't be available until approx. 8 May so we'll have to skip that one and plan a cycle around the 4 June.

Some of that sounds similar to what my FS said, it seems that unless you get lots of eggs, its best to just stick what you get in, as they can get 'lost' the longer you leave them out.

Thanks myturn, I actually felt OK after the appointment and that I am getting everything checked again and starting afresh. It's funny how most of my cycles are planned around June :o 3 out of 4 in fact......Oh and he has put me on a prescribed drug called melatonin, something to do with restful sleep rejuvenating the body??????? Apparently they have had great success with it in terms of successful cycles....Anyone heard of that??

Hi, just a quick one. I took melatonin for five months last year MissB, for my last cycle. Did squat for me :( Did help sleep though :)

AFM- at a bit of a loss.... Only one embryo in the freezer and then my DH doesn't want to do anymore.... It's bittersweet.
I feel like we had a good crack at it and maybe it's not meant to be?
But hopefully I fall pregnant from the next t/fer and won't have to think about all that!

Should I ask/do anything different?
Can they do any specific testing as to see why the embryos aren't sticking?
My brain has turned to mush lately re: fertility, I always go into shut down after a :BFN:

Thanks n2l, I have no problem with my sleep :o. I just googled it and it said something about free radicals, antioxidants.....dunno, but I'm willing to try it, doesn't hurt, right?
