Possums, Kaydee, Lucky, Oscar: Thanks for the good luck wishes.

Kaydee, I was really worried about OHSS as well. Talk to your nurse or FS about it. Ask them about the common situations of who it can happen to or when it can happen. You seem to get heaps of info warning you about it as a side effect and yet no explanations of who are the types of women who are the high risk people or at which point in the cycle it can occur. Don't leave it - you have enough on your plate to worry about just doing IVF let alone something for which you may be a low risk. :-)

AFM: Woke up with miserable cramping this morning. I've been cramping on and off for the last week. I don't know what to think any more. I've talked myself into every single possible outcome and then talked myself out of each one just as quickly.

Was wide awake at 6 - into the clinic by 7 - bloods are done and now I wait......again :-).

The nurse thought the results would be back a bit sooner than if I'd had them done during the week. Sunday must be a slow day. The phone is glued to my hand and the volume is up as high as it will go.

So, I'll let you know later what the outcome is. It is possible that I will need to have the test done again tomorrow because I did change to a day earlier than they scheduled me for.

Anyway - here's hoping

Hi All,

Sorry I've been MIA again. Have had a very emotional and stressful week. This last BFN has really hit me hard. Everything just seems to be compounding at the moment. I feel like am spiralling out ot comtrol a bit. I try not to post when I am bad like this. Everyone doesn't need to hear my moaning!! Starting to get my head around things a bit better now.

I had my scan on Thurs and my lining was good...7.5mm a week before TF. So I am now on 4 progynova a day, 3 pessaries and 25mg of prednisone. Drugged to the max!!!

TF is scheduled for Thurs morning at 9.30am.

Now my real stress starts. Am praying this last little frostie makes the thaw. There will be no sleep for me Tue and Wed night..I'm always the same!!

Sorry for no personals. Am cooking dinner and washing after a day at work.

well i am half way in TWW. still going crazy and counting down the days. if af doesn't come on fri i'll prob test over weekend as i am usually really regular. please please stick little bub.

Thanks you all so much for your enthusiastic congratulations. I know that we still have a long ways to go ,DH & I & the wee one, but you have all made the last couple of months bearable.

I am praying for each and everyone of you and that you get your wishes granted soon.

as for me...well transfer is set down for Friday, as I ovulated yesterday...so no more daily blood tests...now we just hope our one little frostie thaws out ok...and then of course, it will be my turn back in the anxious TWW

Im okay, on CD4 today so just waiting til next Monday to check ute-lining and then booking in my transfer. I might have to do this one alone, My Mum came along last time because DH couldnt, and DH is sick at the moment so he probably cant take time off work again so soon after.

Has anybody taken someone other than their partner for their embryo transfer. My Mum enjoyed coming last time, it made her feel more involved in the whole process and I felt reassured by having her there, but it also added to her disappointment when we got a BFN so she has asked not to come again. I really would prefer not to go on my own!

Bec- i hope someone can go with you...maybe your mum will be happy to support you if she knows your DH can't go along. Assuming we have a successful embryo thaw and it's all go for Friday, I'll have DH with me, and like you, wouldn't like to go alone.

AFM - we've started our second cycle on double the drugs - so let's see what happens..!! First scan and blood test on Friday.... :pray:

Work...hmmm...well despite the fact that I told them about IVF and my recent episode of depression in June they have been doing some rather unfortunate things toward me that have been stressing me out no end - today at a meeting where I was accussed of being a gossip amongst other things and I decided enough was enough, quit and walked out. I still can't believe I did that! But I feel so relieved!!! But a little concerned as to what I am going to do for a job, but I'm sure I will find something.

Is anyone going to the Blue Canoe dinner here in Adelaide tomorrow night? I am and really looking forward to it.

thinking of all the girls in TWW and about to ET too, keep yourselves distracted with happy positive things to give little one the best place to settle in. These bubs are so loved before they even come into the world, what a great way to start life

Brideof Chucky, theres a few of us out here with stepchildren and working on our own families.. i was lucky both stepdaughters were part of my wedding party, but they dont seem to accept DH having kids with me, especially the 19yo (knows everything at that age of course!). Just gotta hope they get used to it eventually..

AFM, was hoping for FET this month but doc not happy with progress of follies (natural cycle) so cancelled.. gonna try clomid low dose next cycle and hope that kicks them along better, just want to get to another fet and try again! Anyone had better success with follies on Clomid?

I have just read about 10 pages since I introduced myself!

Hi to everyone (specially the fellow newbies :) )

Been a stressful couple of weeks for me but nothing was going to stand in the way of my cycle. So, started injecting Lucrin (synarel doesn't work for me) on Sunday and fell like I'm not really doing anything until Wednesday next week when I have my next blood test. Just sitting waiting around for AF to visit etc. Hopefully life will have settled down a little before that.

So many girls in here at the moment it is hard to keep track of everyone.

AFM: I've been lurking and reading all the posts but have nothing much to report as yet. 13 days left of this pill cycle and 5 days till I start snorting Syneral twice a day, gotta love Down Reg cycles, they take so much longer than natural cycles. So that makes it about 25 days til my scan and then another 4/5 days til the FET. OMG, it is going so slow, it feels like it will never get here. :rolleyes:

Kate- I meant to say, brave move re the job! good luck and good on you for looking after yourself

have been told there's family gathering coming sat, whenever aunties ard, they wont stop blabbering abt babies. my sis in law will be delivering her 4th child dis mth....all dis is putting a HUGE STRAIN on me. a BFN and peeps who will always rubbing on e issue. I CANT STAND IT!!!!!!!! WHY CANT PPLE UNDERSTAND..

JBM - I'm so sorry, dont give up, you'll get there. A break is always nice though.
Every time I hear about someone getting a BFN, I feel a little stab in my heart like its me :(

Marsha - So sorry about the BFN, hope you feel better soon.
And yes, I know what you mean abotu family gatherings, I always get the "when are you having another one?.. your daughter is 3 now, its time for another..b/c then when you start trying it wont happen.." No one apart from DH and myself know we are doing IVF, so its not the family's fault they dont know, but it is painful to hear it just the same. You would think that it would be nobody's business as to when you want another, and yes you may ask once, but its annoying when you get asked all thet time! I feel like crying when they ask me, but i just smile and say, "one day". Our immediate family know we have been trying for a while so they dont really mention it, but its the aunties, cousins and friends.

KellyD - The waiting is always the worst, you'll get there soon though, just keep busy!

Muppity - good on you, I agree nothing is going to stand in the way of this for me too. I have put off so MANY things for all this.

AFM, Found out a friend of mine was having her EPU today. As I said no one knows that I am doing IVF, and I feel guilty that I havent told her as she has been so open with her experience, but I jsut dont want people knowing and asking questions. Its hard going thru it, I just want to keep it private.
I have my U/S tomorrow after the FS increased my gonal-f dosage. I am so nervous, I just PRAY :pray: that everything is ok now, and there are more follies and they are big and ready for EPU! I'll be driving straight to work after seeing the FS so I hope the news isnt bad, otherwise I dont know that I'm going to want to go to work! I have been waiting for this cycle for so long, I just want it to go smotthly! I will try to think positive, and I'll let you all know how I go tomorrow.

To Tell or Not To Tell RE IVF...

I'm naturally a very open, up-front person. I really haven't worried about it and have told a few people what we're doing. But my mum has made a BIG issue about how I shouldn't tell everyone and just "surprise" them if we get a bfp and not to mention IVF to anyone at all...

Everyone knows we can't fall naturally... I may be wrong but I thought by telling those that we had told we would have the support network around us should we have problems.

It makes me feel like I should be ashamed of this situation or something... what do you all do?

Marsha, I too had DH fathers birthday bash a few weeks ago and there were babies everywhere.
The worst part is the token comments I got at the end of the evening my fav being just relax...it will happen :wall: I really hope the day is not too painful for you.

I too am open and an up-front person, and tend not to mind telling friends or family that we are doing IVF if they ask...it's no longer tabo anymore and 1 in 6 women will need some type of intervention in TTC.
I recon it makes us women pretty dam special going along for this ride, and in no way feel ashamed. Unless you have been in each of our shoes no-one should pass judgment

All my other friends...things are so so busy in here it is so hard to keep up!! I'm so busy at the moment I hardly get on the computer, and when I do I find it hard to do personals to everyone. I'm always checking up on each and every one of you though and hoping everything is going well.

AFM....the last little embie gets thawed tomorrow afternoon. Am honestly petrified. Don't have a good success rate with thawing. If this 1 survives the thaw, tomorrow will be a night of no sleep while I wait to hear whether TF is on or off for Thursday morning. I just pray this is the one. I'm feeling so down at the moment.

Nicole, boc, luckystrike - dh family is not agreeable to ivf, my family n frens.......well, heard them saying an IVF baby/ child...THE EXPENSIVE CHILD, and i dont wan them to nickname my child as such. the topic abt fertility is a never ending story, and i dont want peep to start blaming each other....."oh she cant conceive cos, bad genes fm her side".....or "its e DH"

I have had the hellish 3 weeks but have been listening to inspirational music to keep my head above waters.... if you are down listen to Desiree's You Gotta Be.. it might cheer us up a little.

KateB - good on you... my boss tried to get out of some pretty poor judgement and performance on her part by blaming it on me but I just throw it back at her. Of course she didn't like it when someone points out her part in the disaster but hey.... if she continues to blame others instead of seeing how she had contributed to the problem then I would probably walk out too.

Anyway, I've got so much bad luck this month... my awaited O had not come... either that or the home test kit did not work... anyway, I called my FS and have gone to have a BT done anyway... if there is still no sign... they will have to cancel this months cycle and wait for the next.... I am so depressed by it.... I have always O... don't know what is going on.:wall::wall::wall:
