Unsure!!!
Afternoon all,
First and foremost, a big Hello and Welcome to the thread. Like all the others on here, I too can't believe all the newbie's. Sorry no personals at the moment as I seriously need to vent however I do hope everyone is going well with their progress in their cycles and definitely a big good luck for all those undergoing EPU and and even bigger Good luck to all you ladies in the 2WW.
Ladies, Im devastated. Already had a mini cry :(. I had my second US this morning along with my fourth BT. Today, they must really be on the ball because I got my call from the PGD Nurse with my results at a bright and early 11.25am. Took me by surprise that's for sure when my mobile started to ring!!!
So here goes, Uterus lining I have been told is 10mm and as far as thickness and grading the Nurse said its perfect. My body is showing good hormone levels and responding well. This is where I start to get upset. Don't know if I'm overreacting or not but I'll let you guys be the judge of that. Anyway, my eggs are responding however are responding slowly :(. I have a Follicle on the Right at 14mm and then approx 4 or 5 I cant remember now how many she said ranging between 10mm and 13mm on the left. So because of my slow follicles, I need to up my Puregon dose from 225 to 275. I initially started on 175 and now am up at 275IUs. Next step is to start that level at this evenings injection and again tomorrow night and in again bright and early Thursday morning for another set of BTs and US'.
Have told DH and his trying his best to reassure me but it doesn't work too well. I have a mental record of things we have been through, and all has gone pear shaped. Am just worried that the same will happen here too. Am trying to stay positive and think positive, even talking to my little friends down there (I know Im loopy) so we will see hey. Like I said to DH before, were going through IVF purely and simply for the PGD side of ivf (DH has a genetic condition, Tuberous Sclerosis) and all preliminary tests told us we were great in the fertility sector however, the results Im getting aren't mimicking the great fertility preliminary results.
Fingers crossed hey!!!!

Motherhood here I come- try to stop panicking, sounds like everything is going along nicely ((hugs))
AFM- I had EPU this morning, still a little hazy from all the drugs lol, but they got 5 eggs. FX now they all ferilise. ET will be either Friday or Sunday, but embriologist seems to think with only 5 its most likely to be Friday, should have more on that tomorrow
-
Motherhood - sorry you are :(. They don't sound bad at all, but perhaps not as good as you would like. I know what that is like. Cheer up though - you are on the road and you will get there, perhaps slowly but you'll get there soon. All the best for your EPU etc!
Tracy - 5 is great - I will have FX and toes that they fertalise and you get a good transfer. Hope you recover from EPU quickly and all the best for Fri.
-
Wow - it is hard to keep up! Quick one before I leave work ladies....
Tracy - 5 is great - I got 5 and 3 fert and so I hope you have same or even more! :goodluck:
Loops - Yeah trying to keep SOME hair in this 2ww! It's only Tues today - its a long way to Friday week! :wall:
Motherhood - Please do not stress! Look, I am no expert as this is my first cycle and all, but it sounds just the same as what I went through. I went from 150 and they up'd me to 225 on gonal after my 1st US. They told you it is all coming along nice - which it sounds like it is. It is far better to go slowly and carefull so you do not get over stimulated. And think of it as growing them slowly so they are stronger and better!!! It will all come in time and before you know it you will have one of those little emby's back in you and in the 2WW - which is a whole different stress & ball game!
Seriously - if you let this worry you - you are going to have a hard time when you find out when there is bad news (:crossfingers:you never get any mind you) or when you have bigger challenges to face. Go with the flow and let things take the time they need to take. I know it doesn't make it any easier but if you stress its no doubt not good for you and your cycle anyhow! hang in there :comfort:
:hello: Hi to everyone else and :welcome: to all the newbies! It amazes me to think how many people are going through what we are! Hope you are all doing well - whatever part of your journey.
-
Hey Hey Ladies I am back!!
I start jabbing away again tomorrow! AF showed yesterday the wicked witch!
I hope you all are doing well xxoo
-
:hello: to all of you lovely ladies.
:welcome: to all the newbies.
I'm sorry, but I am using a new laptop and can't quite get the hang of all the buttons, so will pop back in tomorrow for some persies. I am thinking of you all and sending lots of  and :pink-babydust: your way.
AFM: We were told that out of the 12 fertilised eggies there were 5 x 8 cells or more good, 1 x 7 cell good, 2 x 8 cell fair, 1 x 7 cell fair, 1 x 6 cell fair, 1 x 8 cell poor & 1 x 6 cell poor.
Got a scare as we went in on Sunday to have my BT done and then we drove straight down to Sydney. It takes us about 5-6 hours and we didn't want to be driving through the city at night so we took the chance that my levels would be okay. Got a call from our nurse to say that my estrogen (sp?) level was still quite high and that they were re-doing the test just to make sure. I told her that we had just arrived in Sydney and she started to get worried we had driven all that way for nothing. She was already annoyed because it took the pathology people all day to send her the results when she asked to be sent them straight away!!!
Anyway, when she rang back she said that the dr told her he was happy to proceed, he would just see how I'm feeling at the time of the transfer and make a decision then.
Went in for the transfer at 12:30pm and out by 1:30. ET went really well and didn't feel much worse than a pap smear. Dr had a look around my abdomen and said that he was happy with how everything looked, so the transfer went ahead
The scientist and dr said that they were very impressed with the little blastie. They said that it had even progressed to the next stage and started to hatch. I laughed coz all I could think about was a chicken egg hatching
Been lazing around the house (mostly in bed doing some studying) and has been good to get some catch up on quality R&R.
We get a phone call tomorrow to let us know how many bubcicles there are. On Monday they said that there were 4 that looked very promising and another 2-3 that weren't far behind.
It was all very surreal driving home. DH and I kept saying that it is amazing looking at the picture of the blastie on the screen and that that will FX become a baby
So I'm officially in the :2ww: and hope it flies by. BT is Friday next week (11th) and I can't wait!!!!!!!

Hey there girls
Well I had a bit of free time tonight so thought I'd try and get up to date with everyone. Here's hoping I get it all right, and sorry if I miss anyone.
Looks like Nix and Onja both had ET on Friday last week, and Star Bright and Cass both had ET yesterday. Good luck to all of you girls in the TWW. My fingers are crossed for all of you to get your BFP :crossfingers: And Cass, I've heard that a hatching blastie is a great sign so good on you.
:welcome: to Calin, melttc, sonyalouise, mummawannabe and lise (hope I didn't forget anyone). Good luck to you all in your respective cycles.
Tracy - great news about your EPU today. Hope that your 5 eggs are fantastic quality and that you get a really good fertilisation result. Keep us posted. Will be excited to hear your results.
Miss K - welcome back and good luck with the injections.
Motherhood - try not to freak out about the follicle response. It's so weird that the "grass is always greener on the other side", because I have had a pretty good response follicle-wise, but the thought of having a uterus lining at 10mm is just foreign to me as I've never had mine that thick, so good on you, that's fantastic. The most I've ever had is 8mm and I just can't seem to get above that (and that's with drugs too - have no idea what it is completely naturally, but can only think that it's not very good). So stay positive and I'm sure everything will work out fine.
Loops - how are you going chickie? Not long til the FS appointment now (is it next week?). Fingers crossed for you that all goes well and that you get some answers. And hopefully you can come up with a new strategy that will get you your BFP. Thinking of you.
Emerald Star - hey honey. You are so good to be keeping up with everyone's progress. Here's hoping that AF hurries up (OMG, can you believe that those words even come out of our mouths?), so that you can start a new cycle.
AFM - nothing much to report since yesterday actually. Have my last gonal-f and cetrotide injection tonight (thank god!!!). Then have trigger tomorrow night at 8pm, for EPU at 8am Friday morning. When I was thinking about it, I was so excited that I won't have any injections to do on Thursday, but then I forgot that I'm doing acupuncture Thursday arvo, so looks like it won't be a needle-free day afterall. Hopefully AP will help me relax for EPU on Friday.
Wishes xoxo

Hi Ladies,
Wow there has been a lot happening in here lately! I had had a lovely long weekend away but it was back to reality and work today.
Congrats to Nix, Onja, StarBright and Cass on your successful ET's. :stickyvibesboy: :stickyvibesgirl: Wishing you all the best for your TWW. I look forward to seeing some more BFP action.
Wishes - Wow.. I can't believe how quickly you seem to have progressed through this cycle. GL with the trigger tomorrow and EPU Friday. I hope you get lots of top quality eggs!
EmeraldStar & Loops. Hey sweets hope you guys are well, and EStar GL with the arrival of AF.
:welcome: to all the new ladies and a big hello to everyone else. I will have to catch up on some more of the old posts tonight but I hope you are all progressing wonderfully with your various stages of treatment.

mitf: Hope you are enjoying your break this month and GL for your next new cycle.
wishes: Thanks. I'm about to google it to see what I can find, but the scientist chickie, our nurse and the dr all have said that same thing about the hatching blastie. GL with your trigger and EPU. :crossfingers:
Miss K: Sorry to hear the witch turned up  GL with your jabbing and this cycle.
Nix: Hope your TWW is flying along. FX for a positive ending for you :crossfingers:
Loops: Count down is on for your FS appt. FX for you.
Tracy: 5 eggs is great. FX you get a good fertilisation result.
Motherhood:  Sorry to hear you're a bit down. It is best that things progress along a slow speed than none at all. One of my friends was on an enormous amount of injections before she would even produce one follie. FX everything keeps going up and up for you and you are in your TWW before too long.
Lise: Welcome. I had a bad cold at the start of this cycle and I asked our nurse and she said to just keep up the butter menthols and panadol if I have a fever. She said that anything that can't be taken while you're pregnant shouldn't be taken during IVF. I would check with both your GP and FS first though.
Emerald: Hope AF shows up soon so you can move on to your new cycle.
Sonjalouise: Welcome and GL for your 1st IVF cycle. I was told by our FS not to take any Chinese herbs as they don't know how they react with all the drugs. May be best to speak to your FS and Chinese dr about it.
Starbright: Sorry you had a bit of trouble with your ET. Hope your TWW is going smoothly.
Melttc: Welcome and GL. I told my bosses the moment I knew we were certain IVF was needed. My bosses are great though. There basically like surrogate parents to me coz my family live so far away. I would not swap them for anything. And it really does help to have that support when you are at work for so much of your day.
Onja: FX for the rest of your TWW hun :crossfingers:
Mummawannabe: GL with your ET today.
Hello to anyone I've missed. Boy there are a lot of us here atm.
AFM: Got a phone call from the lovely scientist (her phone calls seem to cheer me up lately :) ). We have 5 little bubcicles. YAY  She said that there were 2 x hatching blasties, 2 x expanded blasties and 1 x normal blastie. So fingers crossed we won't need to use them, but it's nice to know they're there if we do.
:pink-babydust: to you all.

Emeraldstar - I forgot to mention yesterday - thanks for the explanation on chem pg. That sounds like it makes sense. After ET my DP was saying I was pg - and I kept saying don't say that cos really I'm not! And we were having a discussion about this 2ww and what you would call it. Your explanation helped us both understand really what is going on. I wonder at what point it becomes a featus (sp??) - will ask my nurse when I can!!
Cass - your update sounds great! It is pretty cool seeing them up on the screen hey - mind you my little emby was only a 4 cell!! Welcome to 2ww. Hope all goes well! My BT is due next Fri 11/09 too - but I have a team meeting at work from 8am - 3pm so I have just rung nurse to make BT Thursday instead.
Wishes - GL for EPU on Friday.
Miss K - I'm sure in a weird way you are glad to be back jabbing away!! Never thought we would all be so happy about having to inject ourselves hey!
Hi to everyone else!

hi Everyone, just have some info on "chemical pregnancy" for those of you who are interested;
What Is A Chemical Pregnancy?
A chemical pregnancy is the clinical term used for a very early miscarriage. In many cases, the positive pregnancy test was achieved before the woman?s period was due but a miscarrige occured before a heartbeat was able to be seen on an ultrasound.
Chemical pregnancies are unfortunately very common. 50 to 60% of first pregnancies end in miscarriage very early in pregnancy. Most occur without the woman even knowing that she was pregnant.
Most chemical pregnancies are due to chromosomal problems in the developing fetus. Other possible causes are inadequate uterine lining, uterine abnormalities both congenital or acquired like fibroids, low hormone levels, luteal phase defect or certain infections.
Most chemical pregnancies can not be prevented. If you have recurring chemical pregnancies, your doctor should be able to investigate and help you formulate a treatment which is best for you. Potential treatments include vitamin B6 (at least 50mg a day), progesterone cream, and baby asprin. Be sure to discuss potential treatments with your doctor.
If infection is the cause, antibiotics prescribed by your Doctor can help.
-
Emerald Star - thanks for the info re chemical pregnancies. That was pretty much what I thought but it helps clarrify things. My clinic told me that by the time you have your final BT your BHcG should be over 100. Mine was only 24 when I started spotting. My Progesterone was also low so I pressume my endometrium lineing wasn't thick enough to support the embie. I have also been told that women who get chemical pregnancies do get babies, so FX that next time we will have more luck.

Mitf, when are you having FET #1 ?
-
Also, I might be moving to Melbourne next year and I was wondering if any one could recommend a good clinic and/or FS. FX I won't be needing a new one but thought I should do a little research just in case. I have heard of a few people talk about Melbourne IVF. I will probably end up living in the Eastern suburbs and would be working in the city.
-
EmeraldStar - I am almost half way through my cycle off. I am hoping we will be able to proceed with FET the following cycle but I have to wait till I see my FS in 2 weeks to confirm. I am sure I will slowly go crazy before then. :p
-
Mitf, just read your post about moving to Melbourne and you might be requiring a new FS.....well hon..hate to tell you this but you won't have a chance to use a new FS, you, my dear, are going to be pregnant with your first FET THIS YEAR!!!:clap:Yaay!!!
