How is everyone else holding up in the TWW.
Well I'm fronting up for another round! AF reared her ugly head this morning. I can't seem to get to the point of having to go for my blood test! DOH! Oh well I might be able to write a book on 100 things non-pregnant women can do....like go on a roller coaster at Movie World!!! And milk the situation so as to get a new puppy or in my case a goat! Yep you got it...my husband will consider getting me a GOAT!!! How romantic is he????
I'm truly hoping everyone else gets the postive results they all want!!
Love Deb
Hi there all,
Just introducing myself because it's time I finally give in, I was hoping I would fall pg & wouldn't have to swap threads again but you guys are stuck with me now.
So hubby & I have been ttc #1 since June 2005 with no luck & I have just had the dreaded witch arrive so I am coming over to join you lovely ladies.
I already know megan, boo & zap & I am absolutely thrilled to hear of Danni & Cheries pregnancys.
It sounds like there are quite a few of us that have just started af so we are all in the same boat atm, imagine the pms vibes at the end of month (although hopefully not).
Well I am extremely disappointed that af has arrived but I am trying to think of the positives atm which are that we have a specialist appointment on 5th September so it's not too far away now, I just want some answers.
Thanks for listening & I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
Jo
Welcome Jo. :) I know, it's not nice to make the move to LTTTC and you always hope that BFP will come along so that you don't have to.
I hope you get some answers at your FS appointment. It's only just over a week to go so will be here before you know it. Both times I have made my FS appt I have had a 5 week wait. Some people wait months - I think I would go out of my mind! lol
Have you had any other tests done previously?
Deb, sorry to hear AF turned up. LOL at your DH agreeing to getting a goat!! My DH would like a goat (so that he doesn't have to mow the lawn as often!!) but I had a bad experience as a kid being chased by one so that's a no no! lol
Sari, all the best with your FET. Hope your little champ sticks and you're celebrating your BFP very soon..
How is everyone else going? Boo, Jane, Janee??
We have hit a small snag. It seems the IVF clinic never received the results of my rubella blood test and want me to have it again. Now I'm concerned that it wont be ok and we'll have to wait because I will have to be vaccinated again. Does anyone know how long one vaccination lasts? I always thought it lasted years (10+) until I think I read here on BB somewhere recently (or maybe somewhere else?) that it's only a couple of years. Maybe I'm stressing about nothing, but I really don't want to have to wait again now that we finally have the ball rolling.
Hey Megan - I thought that Rubella was 10 years plus too. I had my shot when I was like 12 or 13 (hello nearly 20 years since that jab) and my specialist has never said anything (we got tested for antibodies too). I think once you have some antibodies (thats what we have a vaccine for) its all good. Hope it all goes well!
Welcome Jo - I hope it is a really short visit for you here. Good luck with your appointment (the time will arrive before you know it)
Thinking of everyone
Deb
Hi everyone, Another new member to LTTTC.
Let see, a bit of info about me.... I have a beautiful DD who is 6, TTC #2 for about 4.5 years now. We had a referral for the FS 2 years ago, but DH got cold feet about going. He has now said he is ready to go, so WooHoo for us.
We are starting temping again so we have some charts and then will go and get another referral and make an appointment hopefully somtime this year.
I will try to keep up with everyone and hopefully won't be too long before I know you all.
Catch up with you all later.
Nic
Hi Jo & Nic welcome to the thread! I hope that a BFP isn't too far away for the both of you.
Megan - i'm pretty sure rubella lasts 10 years too. I got mine done when i was about 12 or so, when i got tested in Jan this year (i was 27) i still had imunity but it was only just border line so i had a booster just to be sure - I'm sure you'll be fine, goodluck!
Sari - how did your scans go?
Deb - sorry to hear that AF showed her ugly face again. LOL at your DH letting you get a goat. My DH grew up in the country and would love to get some more animals but i don't think our dogs would appreciate it!
How are all the girls going who are in the TWW wait?
AF arrived this morning, not sure if its because of the lap but the cramping is no where near as bad it usually is - i haven't even had to take panadol! We went to see the natropath the other night, she's given us some more vitamins to take (i think if you shook me i would rattle lol) and we go back on Monday night for my first lot of acupuncture and she's also going to put me on some chinese herbs. I'm feeling very relaxed and positive about it all - just have to wait AF to leave so we can start BDing!
Hi Girls....just wanted to pop in quickly and say Hi and welcome to Jo and Nic, although i wish that you didn't have to be here. Good luck to you both and i hope you get your BFP's really soon...
Boo - bugger about AF but good that the cramping etc has eased. Good luck with the herbs etc. I'm positive that the results will be fantastic...
Hope everyone's having a great weekend...
Just a quick one to let you all know I'm thinking of you...Nic welcome - I remember you from the TTC posts....my DS is 6 also.....
Hope you're all having a great weekend. I'm chilling out in our "break" period, and enjoying no more tests, needles and anticipation (for the moment anyway).
Will do personals on Monday.
Take care all
Janee
Nic - welcome sweetheart. Hope this will help get things happening for you.
Boo - AF sucks! Hang in there, matey.
Hi again
I am FINALLY having a transfer done tomorrow. DH is very excited. We had 10 defrosted and 9 made it. I got a call yesterday morning and all 9 have between 7 - 8 cells and are graded 1, 2 and 3. They grade from 1 - 5, 1 being the best and 5 being the worst. So hopefully we will have at least 1 tomorrow. I will know about about 8am.
(they are being grown to blast). I am excited but also very scared.
But today we are taking DH's boat out for its very first journey. So that should keep my mind off tomorrow.
Take care everyone and I hope you are all going ok.
Mel....GOODLUCK, GOODLUCK, GOODLUCK!!!!!. I have everything crossed for you and hope and pray that this trasfer is the one and that you'll be announcing your BFP soon. Sending you lots and lots of sticky vibes....xxxxxxx
Oh wow Mel - how exciting. That's so excellent - best of luck for tomorrow hon, we'll be thinking of you :)
Aww..thanks for the welcome girls :)
Boo - Sorry AF arrived  but it's good that your cramping isn't as bad. Goodluck with the herbs.
Mel - Goodluck for tomorrow...will be thinking of you.
Nic
Hi everyone,
Well i've been a bit quiet during the TWW, felt like i was in limboland and i guess i was. I have been cramping and spotting on and off for the past two days and this morning i woke up to proper AF one day early and i also did 2 HPT and they were both BFN so i dont guess i need to go for that blood test on Thursday...so thats it for me...we cant afford to do IVF again for a fair while and obviously my eggs are no good being that only 2 out of 8 fertilised, and we worked so hard just to get 8 eggs out of me, and that they only got to a 4cell and a 5cell on day three and everyone else's seem to be 6-8 cells by day 3, so it's back to the drawing board...saving up again and using Kim's eggs next time. Kim has never had the urge to be pregnant or give birth..but she said that if i couldnt do it she would do it for me. I feel like my body will never get pregnant and so maybe we should just do IUI with Kim. Just made friends with some other girls in Brisbane who got pregnant on their fifth IUI.
Oh Megan :hugs: I am so sorry that AF arrived for you.
I hope you don't have to wait too long before you can try again. IUI is a cheaper option, so maybe you might be able to do that sooner? We have just had Cherie here with her successful IUI cycle 1st go, so it's definitely possible!
Oh megan im so sorry to hear that. I hope you get some good news soon.
Megan  sorry that AF arrived..
Nic
Megan, hun, I'm so sorry that AF has shown up for you :hugs: As the other Megan mentioned, I'm a brissy girl, and we got a BFP on our first IUI (and DH has very low sperm count), after a failed IVF cycle, so don't give up hope.:
Nic - I'm glad you've made it over to the LTTTC section (they're all wonderful!) and so glad that your DH is happy for you to start looking into things further. I hope it happens quickly for you.
Thanks Cherie :) We had a little chat in bed this morning, and he wants to keep trying until xmas, then if nothing has happened we will make some phone calls. We have friends who were seeing the FS we have been given a referral for and she said he will do all the tests and then send me away to temp for 3 months. So the plan is to temp for 3 months before we even get a new referral and make the call.
The local GP/hospital Dr has been stood down, and he is the one I got my referral from! So will also have to wait and see what happens there and possibly find myself another Dr.
Nic
Hi everyone,
I haven’t been on much lately, too caught up in my own world.
Our first IVF cycle has ended unsuccessfully, with AF turning up last Thursday. Even though I knew our chance of success wasn’t great, I was pretty devastated. Just can’t help but get optimistic I guess. Now getting a bit emotionally stronger.
I ended up with a LP (from EPU) of only 12 days – didn’t get to finish my 15 day course of Crinone. Not sure if this has happened to other people???
I will go in for my BT on Tuesday, even though it’s just a formality. But they want me to have it and I have some questions anyway about how to prepare for our FET.
Special hugs to Deb and Megan TooMums…I am thinking of you both and know how hard it is at the moment.
Hi All,
Danni - Great Job baby!!!! I am sooooo incredibly happy for you. You definately deserve it!!!! Wishing you a H&H pregnancy.
Megan - I am so sorry AF showed up. Maybe you can try IUI like the other girls suggested. Don't give up just yet - I know it's hard to deal with the conststant disappointments but there are some girls who are living proof that it does work....eventually. to you and I hope you both hang in there.
I have been keeping to myself the last week or so. Been feeling kind of sorry for myself, you know the whole "Why Me" thing creeping back in. I just found out that my SIL is pregnant again which really P***** me off as she is a Drug addict, has had 4 kids already, 2 taken away from her and uses during her whole pregnancy...I mean WHAT THE!!!!! Why can a body that has been put through so much crap manage to conceive and sustain pregnancies??? I just don't get it. Here we are trying to do everything right and freak out if we drink too much coffee and no result...jet she just pops them out left right and centre. Not to mention the numerous abortions she has had. Sorry Girls I just needed to get this off my chest, I have been through the crying stage, the feeling sorry for myself stage, and now I have just hit the Anger stage:angry: .
Anyway, looks like my cycle will be cancelled as my body is not playing ball. Eostrogen levels still low (152) so they will probably induce a period then put me on Clomid to regulate my cycle and do FET once I have O'd on the Clomid. So we got another couple of weeks to wait.
OMG sorry for the long post - and my rantings....hope everyone is having a great day and chat soon
Love Alex
Allie do not give up hope missy! we had a 2% chance of natural conception and look what happened while waiting for af to start ivf???
hang in there babe
Hi there,
Thanks for the nice welcome.
Megan - my rubella was fine & I had mine at least 12 years ago (probably longer) so hoping for you it is fine.
In answer to your question, dh has had swimmers tested & are fine, I have had two b/t to confirm ovulation - fine but that is it.
I am starting to have this horrible feeling though that something is wrong with me, trying to stay +.
Nic - glad to see you took the plunge as well & moved over, its nice to know a few people.
Mel - I'm not up with all the technical words yet but it all sounds good for you.
Twomums - sorry your having such a hard time atm, wish you all the best saving for your next try.
Allie - sorry af arrived for you, thinking of you.
Alex - I know it doesn't seem fair, I am always ranting to dh about all these so called 'mothers' who don't even care about their babies that just seem to get pg at the drop of a hat.
It makes my blood boil, they don't even realise how precious a gift a child is.
Does anyone have any advie for my first specialist appointment, am I going to have to insist they start looking into things?
Jo
Hello Girls
I have been MIA for awhile just needed some time away from TTC and all of that IYKWIM. We are starting our FET cycle as of today. It has actually been good being on the pill for the last month or so no stressing about which is the best day etc.....
So I started synarel today have a blood test next Thursday to make sure my levels are low enough then I will get the go ahead to start the progynova (6mg a day) to build up the lining then after a week or so on that then a scan and hopefully lining will be thick enough then I start the prog pessaries 5 days before transfer and 3 times a day.......YUCK........ I think I will wear a panty liner. So expecting transfer of 2 frozen blasties end of Septemer some time. Very relaxed about it all at the moment which is great.
:hello: to everyone else
Jade
Welcome Nic, you finally took the leap into LTTTC! ;) Maybe a change of scenery will encourage a BFP for you!
Welcome back Jade. I will be starting the pill on day 2 of my next cycle (for my 1st IVF cycle) and I am kind of looking forward to the 'break' as well! No temping, cm checking etc. It will be the first time in almost 2 years and I probably won't know what to do with myself.
What are prog pessaries exactly? I think I know what they are, but seeing as I haven't had my nurses appt yet I am not up to speed on all the meds just yet.
All the best with your FET, keep us up to date! :)
Hi Everyone,
Hey DJ and Allie, yuk yuk yuk hey!!! NOT FAIR!!
On a better note we got to speak to my doc about the failed IVF cycle and he agreed that my egg quality is such that i need an egg donor seen as how only 2 out of 8 eggs fertilised and the growth rate of the embryo's wasn't flash either . So the good news is that he has agreed for my partner Kim to be my egg donor, even tho usually egg donors need to have proven fertility!!! Also Kim and I got a nice surprise at Medicare today and we got alot more back than we thought we were going to due to the Safety Net, so I will only be having a rest cycle for this month and Kim will be starting stims in about 6 weeks time!!!! :) :) :) Kim is really excited because she feels more a part of the baby making process now seen as how she will be the biological mother and i will be the birth mother! She wants us to try this way first and if we dont get pregnant this way, we will then consider doing IUI with Kim.
Hope everyone else is doing ok, hugs and kisses...
megan thats great news for you and kim!! yay t the safety net :D
I keep forgetting to mentiin that there is another BB user called "Ursula". She is in a similar situation to you, 2 mums, sperm donor etc,
Maybe you and her could talk about things :)
WOW twomums, that is so exciting & awesome that you will both be part of this baby in every essence of the word....
Congrat's & best wishes & best of Luck!!!!!
Oh Megan and Kim, that's great news. I'm keeping everything crossed for you guys. How nice it would be to be able to have your bubba with at least one of you supplying the eggs. Good Luck.....
Hi to everyone else..xxx
Megan,
A couple of days ago when you posted about your 'bad' eggs, I was going to reply that your Dr could use Kim's eggs to transfer to you, but got sidelined doing something else and then it slipped my mind, so I'm so glad that things worked out that way anyway!
love
sushee
Hi there,
Jade - I'm kinda lost with all the things you are having done (because I'm a newbie here) but wanted to say good luck & I'm glad that you are feeling more relaxed.
Twomums - happy for you that things are turning out more + than you thought & you wont have to wait too long for your next try, good news about using Kim's eggs.
Megan - I'm so glad to hear that you are nearly ready for you first ivf attempt, one step closer to realising your dream. yipee.:)
Waiting for af to leave the building here & then our specialist appointment is next tuesday so not too long now.
Jo
