Hi guys, I posted this in the two week wait but think it may be the wrong place to put such a question - so apologies if you have read this before.
I've been away for a couple of weeks following yet another BFN in early December.
Can you please help me?
I'm tired of just being put on the ivf conveyerbelt so I have made an appointment to see my FS on Wednesday in order to ask questions and check if there is anything else they can test on to help determine if we are missing any unresolved issues.
When I first started on IVF in 2004, the only tests I can remember them doing is a blood test on me, a pap smear and a sperm check for my husband. My frist FS Dr wasn't very consultative so all I know is that I have unexplained fertility - but surely there has to be a reason so I want to go armed with questions/possibilities? I just want to know if I can actually have children? You can't move onto adoption in Australia without first giving up on fertility treatments and I'm not quite ready to give up just yet.
Can you tell me what other tests you have done and any outcomes/changes in treatment?
Thanks in advance.
Currently in a 2ww on a natural cycle - but not holding out much hope.

TLO so sorry you have had such a long hard journey. Please don't lose hope. I believe there are still quite a few tests that can be done. I just recently had extra tests done because of failing to implant. There is also a good thread here that lists all the test some of us have had done Test Because of Failing to Implant, https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...g-implant.html
I see your first IVF cycle you achieved a positive. Please take some hope in that. There is also PGD, see the sticky in the long terms AC area. I have also just done a different protocol called the Colorado Protocol, which includes Baby Aspirin, Augmentine and Prednisone, designed to alter your immune system and improve the endometiral lining of the uterus to aid implantation. If your FS can't give you any answers or recommend any changes, can you try anothe FS?
Other than that unfortunately the only thing I can say is keep trying, there are many other wonderful ladies here that have done 8, 10, more IVF cycles before they achieved a pregnancy. I keep telling myself that it is a numbers game and one day my number will come up. I wish you all the best what ever you decide. Big hugs.
Sara, thanks for thinking of me, EPU went well though am feeling sore and bloated. Now just the waiting to see how my embies go over the next couple of days. I am sure everything will be ok with your Orgalutran shot. How frustrating for you. Good luck for your BT and ultrasound on Monday, so glad to hear you are doing well with your follies, hope they are growing nicely.
21, OMG, the biggest congratulations to you, I am so happy for you, what is next, will you get an official BT done next week to confirm? How wonderful, hope your BFP rubs off on all of us. Can't wait to see what's next.
Neptune I hope you are well, glad to see you back here, I think we all know how hard a negative result can be and especially around Christmas. I hope you next cycle goes well, and the double dose does the trick for you. Look forward to seeing how you go.
Toby GL with your jabbing, I hope you are keeping well. Is your BT on Monday, GL with this also.
Saph GL for your BT and scan on Monday also, sending positive vibes for your next cycle.
Dee, hope you are keeping well, good luck with your BD'ing, I hope it brings you a BFP.
Smithy, thanks for wonderful positive comments, you always brighten up this place. Am praying 2009 is your year and that your coming FET will be the one.
Mollygirl, praying for you for your FET this month also. You so deserve this. I absolutely love your slogan, hope you don't mind if I steal it and say it to myself also. Fingers crossed.
JBM, glad to hear you had a great time away. And hope your break gives you renewed spirit for your coming FET, I am thinking about you.
AFM, I had my EPU yesterday, of the 16 eggs they retrieved 4 were mature, of the 12 remaining, 7 fertilised. I am trying not to be disappointed (the clinic said that fertilisation is normally 60% and this is above the average) and keep reminding myself that we only need one. Am praying they all go fine and we get plenty of blasts to choose from for my ET next Wednesday. Praying praying. This will be my fifth ET and I really want this to be the one. Praying that this is my turn.
To everyone, and those I might have missed, praying that 2009 is the year for all of us. Love and hugs to you all.

Hi Babydreamtime - my slogan is your slogan, and the more we say it and spread it, the more BFP for all of us!!! By the way, I notice you are on the Gold Coast - which clinic do you go to?

Baby Dreamtime: thanks for reassuring me. Good that your EPU went well, praying that your little embies are doing well. be kind to yourself over the next few days.
TLO: Sorry can't really help but believe there are a large number of tests and other options you could consider, perhaps you'd like to post your post again as it's own thread have found that you get more responses that way, also have a look at this thread as it may be helpful.

Thank you Babydreamtime and Sarah69 for your responses. I'll have a look at those threads and see what info is on them. I've been madly writing down anything I come across. I have absolutely no issue in changing FS - so if mine is unwilling to re-evaluate, I'll start looking at other options in Brisbane.
Thanks again ladies - I haven't lost hope completely just feel I need to take control of my treatment. Mind you I have my sil and her two small children staying with us as the moment and going to baby shops today to look for baby monitors with her was probably the stupidist thing I have ever done. I thought I was strong, I don't mean to be emotional, but it's a hard journey we are all on.
Take care - good luck with your cycles!
Tarn.

Hi ladies,
Hope you are doing well today. I am just chilling, thinking about my embies, sending them good thoughts and praying they are growing fabulously. The clinic isn't open today so I have to wait until tomorrow to hear how they are going.
Jade, I have PM you back, let me know what works for you
Sarah (Mrs M), hope you had a great time on the Sunshine Coast, where are you up to now?
Tarn, I totally know what you mean, and shopping for other people's babies can be so hard. I have my brother and SIL staying with me for 3 weeks with their two gorgeous kids, and my other SIL just had a baby on Christmas day, so am surrounded by reminders. I hope you are taking care of yourself
JBM, vegging out sounds great, no more for me though, back to work tomorrow. Hope all is well with you
Sara, GL for your BT and ultrasound tomorrow
21, GL to you too for your coming BT, we can't wait to hear the positive results.
Have a great day everyone.

Well I should have been posting today about starting my 1st IVF (FINALLY) this week - but instead it has been postponed.
It seems that as predicted the infection that DH had has affected his sperm count/quality quite badly. So the clinic has recommended we wait another month and do another SA. I'm so disappointed, we were so close! I actually think that he probably needs 2 months, since the sperm that were just tested were probably produced just prior to him getting sick, and he was on antibiotics for about 5 weeks... I don't want to do IVF with sub-par sperm, so I guess we'll just have to wait. But ARGH so annoyed about it.
Meanwhile everyone else in the world seems to be pg, which is really starting to get to me.
I went online and looked up a few supplements and now have poor DH taking 8 tablets a day hee hee ;) Whenever he complains I tell him would he rather be injecting himself? So evil!!
I hope everyone else has a great start to 09 - and hopefully I'll be back in a month or two....

Hi everyone, mind if I join you
I have been lurking, reading posts for a while now (since the start of the year actually) & have posted here and there but I thought I should lift my game and jump in this thread and formally introduce myself. A little background
My partner & I have been together for 8 yrs and have been ttc for 3.5 yrs. In Oct 07 we found out that we have MF infertility and needed ivf to conceive & we were given very slim chances of being able to conceive on our own. Currently, we are doing our third round of ivf/icsi with :crossfingers: and many positive thoughts. Our first round of ivf was cancelled due to me having a low response to the FSH meds. Our secound round resulted in a BFN.
I hope to get to know all of you in this thread, you all are so supportive of one another and just being able to read all of your posts in here and other threads has been a real joy
Take care and goodluck
21&ttc - I'll congratulate you again when you make the 'official' announcement but I reckon you have yourself a BFP
BTW- I would love to join you in the other thread.

Hi Everyone
I've been MIA for about 3 weeks now, so there are so many of you to catch up on so will hopefully read everyones news shortly to know where all of the girls are at.
AFM: Well I'm back after my Perth holiday over Xmas & New Year. Luckily I'm also fully recovered from my suspected ectopic/miscarriage on the 1st December and am now on my last day of Provera for AF to hopefully start on Wednesday for my 4th FET cycle.
My FS has decided to do a different protocol from last time (HRT FET transfer) to trying to get an O cycle happening. So basically due to my severe PCOS, I will be taking clomid on days 2 - 6 (50mg) to try and copy a natural cycle to hope that this will ensure that my lining thickens at the proper rate and not having and extra long cycle like the last transfer when the bubsicles were transferred on day 24 due to my lining not doing what it was suppose to.
Fingers crossed that this time everything goes as it should and that we have the transfer around the 24th Jan. It is my birthday in just over 6 weeks, so maybe instead of a belated Xmas present, I'll get a wonderful Birthday present.
