21 TTC#1 - Just a thought....why don't you just book into whichever fertility place you want, then just go to the GP and say. "I have an appointment on such adn such a date, can I have a referral to such an such a doctor please". That's what I did....I knew I wanted to see Prof Chapman in Sydney, so I just booked it in advance, then went to my GP to get a referral. If it's a done deal, the GP just has to write the referral.

You don't need a referral to just book the appointment! go for it.

Hey 21TTC#1 - Hand up here for the Clymidia... Mine i think was a previous partner and I think I had it for quite a few years... It's all clear now but when I had my Lap done Dr found scarring in left tube.. I'm assuming Clymidia is what caused it.. Dr said that with scarring and a little endo and adhesions that this is what would be delaying my conception... I hope you get some answers soon and if it's suggested to you to get a Lap done It would find if there was any permanent damage in you.. Take care

neptune- Hey thats a great idea! i have booked appointment for new gp couldnt get in until friday so I will plead my case to him and if this attempt fails I will try your method! I cant wait also how long does it take to see a FS is it like a 3 month wait?

lilmiss- Im also afraid of scarring, ive never been checked and I never even got a follow up after my miscarriage and D and C an nervous they may have botched me as my periods are heavier and longer since the procedure and much more painful. Also does the FS order all the laps and testing or doyou have to get that done at a GP before or do you just go to a FS and they will do all the tests there? sooo many questions i need answered! DP has been tested and we have male factor but i havent been tested yet I was hoping to ust get a referral and get it all done there.

21andTTC#1 - Some FS are easier to get into than others.. I can thoroughly recommend Dr Korman at Queen street.. He's the medical director of Monash GC... He is also the hardest to get into.. Could be as long as 4mths.. You can call his office and make an appointment without a referal as long as you get one before you see him.. I know that waiting that long sounds horrible but it is worth it to get a good doctor.. You may as well wait for the tests as my FS ordered them redone by Monash labs anyway.. My FS did my Lap at his request... As fo9r heavier and more painful AF I don't really know but if you want to PM me with any questions you've got and i'll try and help where possible.. you don't have to go through all of this alone.. That's what we're all here for.. :hug:

lilmiss- thanks so much for the info! yeah i have the info pack from monash on queen street. Did u see Korman? is he nice he looks kinda scary! i was going to go with Dr penny usherwood. so confusing, I think i might go with korman seeing he is in charge. thanks again for the info, we have both been trying for the same amount of time ive noticed aswell. are you with monash? i dont think i have ever asked, anyway Il PM u with any further questions, PM me too if you like. thanks for the support :)

21andTTC#1- Dr Martin was good for a referal but I don't go up there anymore, too far away. We did go to Monash last year to enquire about everything and I didn't like the doc at all! Not to mention I was having an old fashioned freak out about having to go through this at all....now all of a sudden I'm almost 28 and I've put it off for too long. I am even having a bit of a dissagreement with DH about waiting til March to start, he doesn't want to start earlier incase we get a BFP and the money we've spent on the trip would be wasted cos I wouldn't want to travel to Thailand preg (wishful thinking it would work 1st time hey) But besides that I am stoked with the guys at City Fertility. Why have other GP's been ignoring you?

i to had this terrible clymidia and thats why im here as well as a couple of other things BUT its a yukky thing to find out you have i was devastated about 8 and half years ago to find this out after going for a NORMAL PAP SMEAR yep my lovely partner at the time FORGOTT to tell me his was having a fling for the past year MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM i could have killed him and nearly did but, its out there girls i no and it can go UNDETECTED FOR YEAES just doing all its dammage
so thank you for speaking out you really have made me feel better knowing im not the only one;)

21&ttc#1...... go get em girl you will get pg i have faith hang in there one good thing is THAT YOUR STILL ONLY YOUNG i no this doesnt make you feel any better but you will get there and ill be watching very closly.and i would never say any thing to you about your partner if you pair have worked all this out i totally take my hat off to you hun and would never judge or be cruel...things happen

21ttc: than you so much for sharing something so personal. i never knew std'd could cause infertility issues, so i learnt something today.
i think you must be a strong person and i know of some couples who have been in a simular situation as you and stayed with the partner. they are still married 12 years later and 3 kids too. :thumbsup:

afm: well 2 days since my baby was transferred. oh by the way i am not saying embryo . i am saying my baby.:pregnant:. i have to wait until dec 27th for bt but will be doing home preg test on sat the 20th of dec as this would be day 28.

i am talking to my baby and encouraging her to stick. we have been having a great time. keeping up those positive vibes and sending some to you all. :cheer:

I have some great news, went and had PESA on Thursday and they found swimmers :bluesperm: :pinksperm: will not know until Friday exactly how many but I will take what I can get.

Still waiting for AF this month, bugger, was due on the 11th.

AFM - I just got the call before to confirm my transfer tomorrow. I have to be there at 8am, and will be doing the pregnancy test on the 27th Dec. So I'm hoping that 2009 will be our year :pray: My SIL is due today and going to see her in hospital and her new baby today, I'm feeling teary already I hope I can keep it together. I am happy for them but you know how hard it is sometimes.

JEN- HEY! yeah im going for it i dont care about ppls remarks and doubts anymore, I want a little one and my loving partner does too, and to be honest i think im getting a "ring" for xmas! bout time too!

JBM- Hi there , yep they sure can cause infertility! it can cause scarring of the tubes and uterus, sort of like a form of endo due to a silent infection that causes no symptoms, lucky for me we caught it pretty early, mainly due to DP admitting to what he had done a few days later, we were on a "break" so to speak but I still big to differ, anyway that was 3 years ago now but i still use it as leverage sometimes!

Smithy- hey girl, your just as often on here as I am! I also checked out your picz! i hope u dont mind you look like such a happy family too! And I think its best to be open seriously we talk about our vagina discharge and such all the time on here what else could be more open! I really hope you get your wish , you really deserve it and It pains me to see all the troubles you have had, I feel like i shouldnt be complaining! And we arent the only ones trust me! 30 000 new cases a year in australia in females alone between 25 and 35! its a silent epidemic. have a nice weekend!

BJ- I have heard so much bad things about monash! what doctor did you see? was it Penny isherwood, ive heard she is a *7^%$#!, I emailed the clinic you go to and got a info pack from them aswell, I'm just so confused as where to go, I just asumed monash was the best as its the most talked about and world wide known. Im the one having the freak out just trying to find somewhere to stick with! advice would be great also pricing there at your clinic i heard is quite high.

AFM- Well Im on CD5 of the 9th cycle since my D and C, just under 2 years in total of trying naturally, I have my fertility monitor, 2nd month trying, didnt get a peak last time, also using OPK's which always seem to get darker but not dark enough!, on my vit B6 and vitex and timing intercourse, so plz plz plz work this month! oh and dont forget check CM!!! also last night me and DP did our "thing" sorry too much info! and he sort of was a bit rough at the end and thrusted a bit too hard and i had the worst pain shoot up my body, felt like a sword in there and since then i have been bleeding bright red blood, like very oxygentated blood and im afraid maybe he has damaged my cervix or ruptured a vein or something, help me! my period stopped yesterday and it looks too fresh to be from that.

everyone else stay strong, oneday we will ALL be in the parenting after LTTTC forum, I promise! new year here we come!!!

Hi lovely ladies

I just got home my Transfer went really well I was surprisingly relaxed. I had 2 Blastocysts transferred and a possible 4 may be frozen waiting to see how they go by tomorrow.

I'm officially in the 2WW now but I will keep popping in to say hi to my friends. I'm thinking of you all. :grouphug:
