21 - just want to add my impressions to those above. I definitely think your GP should be able to refer you to a FS for male factor sperm issues. It shoudn't matter what the issue is, as long as the GP has done the basic tests (sperm quality and ovulation test for you), they should be able to refer on if you have been trying for as long as you have.

Mels - good luck on Tues with the transfer. I hear you about the twins thing. I also thought long and hard about transferring two on 1st IVF but at my age, the chances of two are pretty low so we will be going for two again with this cycle.

Jen34 - good luck with EPU on Tues.I am probably about 4 days behind you. If you've got any questions about what's involved - fire away. I am a 'relative' veteran with one cycle under my belt.

AFM, on day 4 of Puregon. BT and 1st ultrasound on Monday. Am feeling very tired this cycle. Can't seem to stay awake. We are going to Melb for xmas in (hopefully!) TWW. Does anyone know if it is possible to get BT done at Symbion in another state and get the results sent through? I don't want to have to fly back for it and I def can't wait until after new year for the result. I could POAS but the hCG trigger will interfere with the results and I couldn't deal with a false positive.

Meredith congrat on the 14 embies, there is bound to be good ones and we will all be waiting to here your results.

I am starting an antagonist cycle in January, hubby had a reversal and it's failed so we are having PESA on thursday just hope thats ok.

Is anyone else starting or doing IVF after a reversal ??? I have read so much literature but feel I won't know exactly what to expect until I get there if that makes sense. Some days feel longer than others and seem to go forever. I was originally booked in for Dec but my cycle was too late by a few days cause of christmas so I have to wait.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Safe and Happy New Year, and hope everyone dreams come true even if that's with time.

My kids are at school and getting a new principal and her motto is "Shine 2009" and I might just borrow it myself.

mels77- thankyou for the support, I just want to see a FS but no one will give us a referral I keep getting told they are only for female infertility, we have male factor and only a urologist will help but I truly think this is &*%$#! should I just ask my gp outright for an ivf clinic referral? what did everyone else say? advice would be great!

My hubby went to eurologist and had reversal, didn't get enough for pregnancy, straight away he sent us for IVF, his referal was only good for 3 months so we went to our New GP who gave us another as his is good for 12, seriously if your gp won't give you one get a second opinion we did. Because we already had kids and changed our mind our original GP told us don't be silly it's a phase and it will go with time, 3 years later we changed GP's, the new one gave us a referal for the reversal and now to IVF. Just follow your heart. A good GP will understand and support you, that's what they are there for.

Hi all, go away for the weekend and then I have so much to catch up on.

21 - I just wanted to say we are here for you. You need to do what is right for you. If that means getting a second opinion then do it. As for having to wait for six months that is not such a bad thing. This TTC can be all consuming, DH and I just had a 6 month break and it was fantastic to lead a normal life that wasn't ruled by drugs and being told what to do and when. We are about to get started again and are in a much more positive frame of mind. Just remeber we are here for you if you need to talk.

AFM have appointment with nurses at clinic to discuss new protocol and will start when AF next arrives. Should be about the first week of Jan. First time in my life that I want AF to arrive. But please behave as I am away until 3rd of Jan so please dont come before that.

AFM - I have 7 Follicles, tomorrow is EPU I will let you know how I go. I have a question if someone can help, I have EPU tomorrow and I know they try to use Day 5 at the IVF place I go to, now I know I don't know how many Eggs I will have and how long they will last for, but when do you think ET will be, any ideas cause Day 5 falls on a Sunday.

that girl - great that we will be TWWing together! re your blood test, do the results not get faxed to your FS who can ring you on the day?? Be sure to make them mark your test results "urgent" and to be faxed on the day. good luck in the lead up.

i had some good news. the FET went really well and my frostie had doubled over night!! 8 cells!! :dance:

so I'm officially TWW'ing. :pray: for a Christmas BFP.

AFM - I had my EPU today it went well. I had 11 eggies picked up. Waiting for that call tomorrow for more news. I'm still sore so going to bed now to rest.

Hey Everyone.

I have finally had the time to come back here and see how you are all doing... Stil trying to catch up with where everyone is.

We're trying IUI this month - I go in to check if I am ovulating on Saturday, and then IUI hopefully on Monday!! Then we are of on Holiday for Christmas - and we'll see from there.
