Emerald Star, I am sorry about your results.

Trubabe. I am so sorry to hear about your mum!

Terry, What blood tests are they doing? Would be interested to know to see if I have had them done, or should have them done. All these tests confuse me though.

AFM: I went to FS yesterday for a blood test, and AF arrived in the morning, so Yay! At least things are a little normal. All I was told about the test is that the levels were 48 which is good and to start Gonal F last night. What levels were they testing anyway? Day 1 of my cycle? Anyone know?
Anyway, I am on 150 of Gonal F (They are worried about hyperstimulating my ovaries) and 10 of Lucrin in the mornings now.
Barring having a little headache this morning, I feel ok so far!

    Hi all you lovely ladies!

Sorry, have been MIA since DH got home from PNG! Have been lurking when I get a chance, I apologise that I'm still not up to speed with everyone.

Emstar - so sorry to hear about the chem preg, they totally suck, sometimes I think they're worse than things just not working at all. DEF grill your FS about any blood tests you can do - my chem preg was caused by ANA (most likely). I got ANA, ACA, thyroid antibodies, lupus, Factor V Leiden, all the STI's and haemotology done before we started, for which I'm very grateful to my FS.

Trubabe - so sorry to hear about your mum. Take heart that there's lots of great treatments out there, like bj*81 said. My MIL is a breast cancer survivor, she's been in remission for 8 or so years now. And I can't believe your IUI, you poor thing. Hope you've recovered well. Its all happening at your place at the moment, isn't it!? And the silly season, to top it all off... Hang in there, girl.

AFM - still shooting up for IUI #2, had a scan on CD9 last Friday with a 18mm follie, then went back for another on CD12 Monday - follie gone! What the?! Another 15mm one had developed in that time, on the other ovary... I just don't understand my body. The 2nd one is taking its sweet time, I'm in for my 4th BT tomorrow to see when I can trigger

Better go, DH is in go-mode, getting the house ready before Xmas! Have a good night ladies, try and stay cool!

Trubabe I know this sounds odd but I think that is good. Do correct me if I am wrong. I think that sounds like it may be early enough for treatment. I have been not working for 18 months but am preety sure not that much has changed.

I really do hope this is case for all of you. We are thinking of you all and have you in our prayers. xx

Trubabe the fact it wasn't there 12 months ago is a positive. And yes I knew it meant it would grow quickly but I was relying more on how early they found it.

I have found a PDF on it, hopefully the info from that helps.

    Hi Ladies

Firstly trubabe - sorry to read about your mum. I hope she is OK

Emerald - guess what - you can add me to the hall of fame! I can not beleive it and am still in shock. I got the BFP today and my reading was 400 and something ? I was so overwhelmed that I can't even remember what it was. So its 4 weeks now and I need to book in for the 6 week scan in the first week of Jan.

I was terribly emotional early this morning and had no idea what to expect. Almost like I had given up. So its still hard to beleive we have finally made it, 2 EPU's, 4 embys and 3 transfers later. With still 4 in the freezer for way later on I hope!

I have not been so familiar to most of you this time around but thank you to all of those who have been in here for a while with me for all your support. I hope to see you all wherever I am going really soon. And to the rest I don't know so well I hope your waiting time is short ladies - we all deserve it.

Hmm - still shocked and lost for words.

BFP and 478 is the count!

I called the clininc to get my number again... now that I can take in a bit more information and all!

My level was 478 - pretty high hey! So they are not monitoring me, the nurse said if I want to I can get another BT next week to check it but they feel there is no need and next is just my 6week scan.

Coral thanks - I can't beleive it. I wonder when it will start to sink in. Its nice to see an old name and it looks like you are doing well from your signature. In fact you and I had very similar rides since TTC since Aug 08. Looks like we can ride the next wave together still.

    Congrats Nix!

Trubabe, I'm so sorry she has to wait until next year to get started with fighting it. I'll keep her in my .

Afm, my transfer was cancelled this morning. 4 of the embies had started dying overnight. The other two hadn't grown in the last 2 days... In the embryologist's opinion they had zero chance of success. I guess AF will be here sometime next week (hopefully earlier rather than later)...

My plan for the start of next year is to pursue the endometriosis angle. When I asked my FS about it before, he said there was no point investigating it because it wouldn't change his treatment protocol (since we were already doing IVF). Now that we can't afford another IVF any time soon, I'd like to do something about reducing the excrutiating pain I get every AF. I don't think my FS does anything other than IUI/IVF (retired from other aspects), so I'm not sure if I should ask him for a referral to someone who'll do it or whether to go to a GP. If I go to a GP I can maybe get started earlier (FS doesn't return from holidays until 25th January).

Other than that, since the embryos arrested after day 3, I'm going to talk DH into starting acupuncture (or at least the supplements) to improve his sperm quality. His chromosomal analysis said they were fine, but maybe there's something they didn't test for that the eastern medicine will treat? And I've told him that once we get past New Years we're both going to be going on a diet. Until now he's refused to reduce his soft drink consumption, but I'm not putting up with it any more.

Sorry for the long post, I just feel better for having a plan and I'd love any feedback you may have or suggestions for improvement.

Juniper I am sorry to hear your update. That must be devastating having embys not make it. I haven't followed your journey close enough so not sure if u have had much of a break or what your 'issues' are. If you have a good GP you are comfy with I would be going to them and asking what Gyne to go see. Or perhaps you can call the clinic?? They may have other FS's that do gynea stuff as well and if it is all related then another gyne who has some IVF knowledge would be good.

I feel for you, I am sure you feel like you are banging your head against the wall. Don't loose hope - but let yourself be sad when you should be and rest when you need to. Its a bloody exhausting ride.

    Hi Juniper

Sorry your cycle was cancelled. It's interesting that all the doctors have a different way of doing it. My FS found an ovarian cyst on my pre IVF U/S and was adament that I have the lap and hyst before commencing IVF. He didn't want to do IVF until I'd had the endo removed. I still seem to be a low egg producer, only 3 eggs each cycle. The second cycle we did ICSI and got two blasties and a BFP. I don't really understand why the FS wanted to do ICSI, but he recommended it and we went with it. On the first cycle of the 3 eggs only 1 fertilised normally... so I guess they they wanted to make sure healthy swimmers got in, hence the ICSI. I had DH on Menevit for a few months prior to IVF (which is the male equivalent to Elevit). Don't know if it did anything...but we'll try anything, right? Good luck for next year.
