Hi, cycle day 1 for me please, thanks xx
Yay!! Bloods came back good, so I start on progesterone pessaries tomorrow and have a transfer Wednesday morning, 6th march! Fingers crossed and praying hard for this one to be THE ONE!!
Good luck Kel82 hope this is the one for you as we'll FX
Quick question I get sick of drinking water very very quickly is coke zero ok? If not any suggestions? Thanks xx
Great news Kel82, I have my FX for you!
Rai - I've been drinking caffeine free coke, probably not the right answer but I love my coke.....
faye thanks I'm going looking ASAP for caffeine free coke I'm sick of water but I'm hopeless with water to me the less water I have to drink the better. Thanks
Rai, is your water question for during IVF cycles or just in general? If it's during IVF, I'd avoid soft drink (except as a special treat) because it will dehydrate you. Tea/coffee will also dehydrate you. If you struggle with the water, I'd alternate with something like gatorade/powerade. You want to stay well hydrated. I used to only allow myself some soft drink if I had already had 3L of water that day (so was already well-hydrated).
I hadn't first BT for this cycles FET and things are 'happening', they want me for another one tomorrow...
I asked if I can have pregnyl injections rather than progesterone pessaries, which they are ok with...Anyone had any experience with both? I just hate getting up 30mins earlier and going back to bed (love my sleep!), they said for me either is done so hopefully 3rd times the charm...
Double post...sorry
me4ever- congratulations, so happy for you :leap:
rai - look up watermelon water. basically blend 1 cup watermelon, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon honey. It's delicious, I love it and i'm terrible with trying to drink enough water in a day. Or what else you can do is put a whole heap of fresh fruits in a jug of water and leave to sit in the fridge. Much more exciting then plain water, but still good for you :)
 everyone, hope you are all doing well.
AFM- we had an appointment with our FS this arvo and she has told us that all my girly bits are perfectly fine and healthy. So now I have unexplained infertility, and to be honest I think that feels worse then knowing something is wrong! Next step now is to try 3 months of clomid again, and if that doesn't work then look at artificial insemination/ivf. Due to the fact that we have been trying for nearly 3 years with no success, she has given us <1% chance of conceiving naturally :(
ETA- Does anybody here go to the Fertility Centre in Dandenong? I'm thinking of changing FS
grrrr stupid double post
Yeah me4ever! Wishing you a blossoming 9 months ahead of you xx
Good luck next week Kel with your FET xx
Hummingbird, I've always done both together. I use 3x 200mg pessaries per day and 3 hcg booster shots. I actually have my 3rd booster shot for this cycle tonight... For some, the booster shots alone are sufficient, but I find I need more luteal support than most. Maybe my ovaries just feel tired and put upon after the high doses of FSH? The only thing you should be aware of is there is currently a shortage of pregnyl, so that may cause problems for your plan? I think I got the 3rd last box from my FS's stash...
Treenie, that watermelon juice sound lovely! Mmmmm... Sorry to hear your appt was disappointing. What tests have you done? Is there anything you haven't tested yet (eg immune/clotting issues)? Also, crazy as it sounds, we got our first BFP (chem pg) naturally after 2.75 years, 6 IUI, 3 IVF and 1 FET. We were shocked that we got pg on our own after all those treatments had failed! Pity that one didn't last. Our 3rd BFP (mm/c last year) was also a natural conception, so it happened twice...
treenie I am having my first appointment with dandenong tomorrow afternoon, they had a cancellation otherwise it would have been may.
That watermelon juice sounds lovely!
Treenie - I hope that the clomid works a treat, I have unexplained IF and I think it's the most frustrating thing ever as there's nothing really you can do but keep trying as there isn't really anything to address that you know of (we conceived DS on the 3rd month and now we're coming up to 2 years TTC#2), I joke with the nurses (though somewhat frustratingly) that all my tests are bl**dy perfect except the damn pregnancy test!!...I have 2 friends though who it's worked the other way round, when TTC#1 they were both about to start IVF after trying for a while (one friend was 1 year and the other was 3 years) and for no2 they both got preg on the first cycle and were blown away...You just have no control, you will be blessed when you're supposed to.
I had a BT this morning, and a scan...Got one follicle that's quite big (around 20) and my lining is 11.5 and looks 'perfect', that's thicker than last month, hopefully my frozen one will find a nice cozy place in there. So I am probably about to Ov, will know for sure once they look at the blood levels. I asked about the asprin so they will check with my doc.
Juniper - There has been a pregnyl shortage for a few months now (hence why I was switched to the pessaries) but I think they have some back....I got some anyway :) I don't know if I even need to use anything but my FS said it's good just for 'extra support' but they always seem to think my levels are good regardless... I think when you do the fresh cycle you probably need more support just to help your body maintain the cycle after the first crazy half, esp if you get alot of eggs, not that i am any sort of expert!
Kbudgie - Good luck at your appt, what luck getting in now rather than having to wait!
xx

Double post, sorry (again!)
I am freaking out. Just got quote for fet and it is nearly 4000. I don't think Dh will want to go ahead. Im not sure we can now. I'm looking for old bills as I don't think it was that much before.
Is my bubba going to be an only child? I feel a bit stressed and worn out and we haven't even done anything yet!
Wow Williever that sounds very pricey... Do you need loads of costly extra medications? My natural FET cost me $2785 and got about $1300 back from Medicare. Have got private health care and they took care of some costs too...
No meds at all! Phone calls need to be made now.
Wow williever that does sound pricey, I think mine is only going to be about $2700 as well but I'll know for sure on the 11th. Checked in with the lab this morning and 6 of our embies didn't survive so just the 4.
Ok so after medicare it will be 1816 or less out of pocket. I've just been through a thousand emotions. Glad I sorted it put before DH gets home!
Only test I've had done is an internal ultrasound (which showed cysts on my ovaries) and then the lap last week (which showed no cysts). The thing is that I always come home from our FS appointments feeling disappointed. She was talking about going straight into ivf, nothing alone the lines of checking anything else first. Which is why I'm looking at other FS. So if anybody can recommend one, preferably in the South East suburbs of Melb would be fantastic :D
Treenie- it must be so frustrating to not fully be happy with the FS. It costs so much to even step foot in there!
We tried clomid when we didn't know what was causing us trouble. It didn't work, but obviously it does for some.
Have you tried alternatives eg chiropractor, acupuncture etc? Some people swear by those..... Not me. Scientists and doctors got us our bfp.
Do you not want to got to ivf? Sorry if youve already answered that.
Treenie, did she do a hysteroscopy during the lap? It's so tricky when you're dealing with the "unexplained" diagnosis. For us, it meant "insufficiently investigated" because our first FS wouldn't do a lap to check for endo. Ever since we started testing further, we find problem after problem, so we went from "unexplained" to overwhelmed... But some couples are genuinely unexplained - whatever is getting in the way is beyond modern medicine or could boil down to really bad luck. If you have any doubts about the thoroughness of your FS, then it sounds like a second opinion would be a good idea.
It was after our hysteroscopy that we started to find things. And then solve things. Expensive test, but for so worth it!
* for us so worth it.
Thanks for the support girls.
Juniper - yep had a hysteroscopy, pap smear, dye test, check for endo, removal of ovary cysts (which I ended up not having) & D&C at the same time as the lap (I think I had the works done).
Williever - haven't tried alternative methods yet (I'm looking into that now), we can't afford ivf right now.
I've tried 6 cycles of clomid previously, which worked (as in they made me ovulate) but still didn't fall pg. So when she said to try clomid again, I was just thinking "Really, again?"
Treenie- it might be that your FS wants to see how everything goes now that you have had 'the works' done. Maybe do the clomid for a couple of cycles? Sometimes the d&c is enough (obviously with ovulation also). That's how my FS explained it to me after my hysteroscopy.
It will give you time to find another FS too.
I'm sorry it's so frustrating!
