    Hi Everyone,

Rob - That is fantastic news. Great fertilisation rates! Congrats!

Loops - Glad AF finally arrived so you can get back on that horse and try try again...all the best for this cycle!

Bella - I think your e2 levels are really good for 6 days of injections, Kims was only 72!! Its only early in the game, next scan and bloods will be the tell tale!!

Mindhugs - That is fantastic an egg for every follicle!! Cant wait to hear about fertilisation !!! Good on you!!

BabyDreamTime - Have you had your BT yet??

Kmond - Everyone is different, but usually about day 10 or 11 you have your 1st scan, so about 6 days of stims..

    Big hi to everyone else!!

Well we had the transfer this morning. When we got there we had:

2 x 6 cells at Grade2+ (the two we put back)
1 x 5 cell at Grade2+ (one we are going to freeze)
1 x 4 cell at Grade2 (one that has probaby arrested)

I asked if they should have been 8 cells by now and she said that because it is so early on the 3rd day they are perfectly good embryo's. I asked if the 4 cell was the one that was only 2 cells yesterday, and she said no, that the 2 cell from yesterday was now a 5 cell, good enough to freeze. The other one that is a 4 cell was already a 4 cell yesterday and most likely wont be good enough to freeze. They will check it this afternoon to see if it has changed to a 5 or 6 cell, but it has most likely arrested. Wont know until Monday.

So we have the best two embryos that are perfectly great embryo's on board! Kim went to accupuncture yesterday afternoon at 5pm and today after the transfer at 10am. We arent going to do anymore, the accupuncturist said that studies have shown that before and after transfer is all that is required. She put these little round sticky plasters that are like tiny thumb tacks into Kim's ear and she said they can stay in for up to 7 days to assist implantation. Now all we can do is hope and pray!!!

rob: wow 23 eggs, you must be sore?, good job by sound of it. how many you putting in ? by DH says not sure about IVF again ( ever) but we're talking and thats a positive. thanks for your encouragement, you prob understand me more, but been feeling very alone lately. good luck to you.

kmond: 1 felt same with synarel as you, had no real side effects they said but it worked for me. i actually had no side effects ( apart from bloating ) with injections too but i had all of them with crinone gel. go my fingers crossed for you.

    sara: good luck 2 u .

BDT: know how u r feeling. pray u r wrong, and nasty AF doesn't come. good luck

mindhugs: your advice sounds good for the injections. good luck to you.

loops: how r you going? nasty AF, we hate her most of the time, she is an unwelcomed visitor in our house. ha ha. good luck to you.

bella: hope those follies keep on growing, got fingers crossed

kurby: not long til start jabbing. hope it goes well 4 u.

if i missed you : so sorry

    afm:
    well who really knows?

DH or should i leave out the D in front of that ?!, has said yes lets do another IVF, but now he is saying no again, he wants to adopt.
he doesn't want to go thru all the emotions of IVF as it was a very hard year for us with all this TTC, and 6 BFN.

i don't know, i am still sad, AF is still here (i hate her BTW). i still feel a little lost but i have some time off this arvo for 2 hrs, do DH.

so maybe IVF, maybe not ? it's all up to DH as i am perfectly fertile.

    Hi everyone

Just an update, I had to call the IVF lab, i couldnt wait until monday to find out about the other embryos. The embryologist said that the 4 cell became a 5 cell and the 5 cell became a 6 cell (both grade 2) so both have been frozen. We have two snow babies!!! Yahoo!! These two were the last to be injected she said so that would be why they were behind. She said that the embryos were 60 hours old when we transferred so not quite 3 day embryos, hence why they didnt have 8 cells. Anyhow, not much we can do now. We are so pleased with the result from 5 mature eggs, 2 to transfer (by choice) and 2 frozen. Thank you everyone for encouraging us through this up and down cycle.

    Hi Ladies

Quick one from me as I haven't been around the past few days and there's lots I still need to catch up on. Just wanted to wish TwoMums all the best. VERY excited for you!!! Hoping for some good news.

Lani, wishing you all the best for your upcoming epu. You'll like acupuncture. I was having regular treatment last year and was feeling great but then stopped this year when it really would have counted I'm starting up again with an appointment tonight to try to get my body prepared for my next IVF cycle which seems sooooooooooo far off right now.

Have to go for an u/s and bt tomorrow morning so they can tell me whether my follicles have been reabsorbed into my body and take me off synarel so I can then wait for AF and have a whole natural cycle before beginning IVF/ICSI again on the antagonist cycle. So I think it's still a good 6 weeks before I can start getting excited again. The countdown has begun

    Hi Everyone,

Well my final stats are in:

    16 eggs at EPU
    15 were good to use
    11 fertilised
3 made it to Blastocyst and are on ice

We are a little disappointed because you always hope for greatness. But 3 is better than none. Now we have to wait until they are comfortable to do an FET in about mid May. I feel fine, but apparently I am still at risk of OHSS until then???

They told me that they used a new technique of freezing called vitrification. Apparently they have been testing it for 2 years and have found that 80% of blasties survive the thawing this way. Has anyone else heard of this? They use a kind of long knitting needle with a thin hook on the end. Then they place a drop of solution on the hook and place one blastie in the drop. Then they touch the knitting needle to a frozen block of steel and it freezes in under one second. They supposedly defrost in pristine condition??? I think it obviously takes them longer to do than the test tube as they repeat the process for each embryo.

Also, has anyone found themselves bloated up and full of gas for a couple of weeks following EPU. My stomach is hard as a rock and doesn't seem to want to go down. I've been taking heaps of acidofallous (sp?), which isn't doing too much. Any tips?

    BBL for personals too

Hi Mindhugs - i always take at least 2 weeks for my stomach to go back to normal so i wouldn't worry. Also in regards to the vitrification process - the clinic i go to uses the same process and all of my frosties so far have survived the thaw.

Mindhugs : Congrats on 3 Blast's from 16 - that is great. I had an EPU last Friday of 16 and transfered 2 and froze 1, and I am rapt... They are great results. Dont worry bout the belly, I look 6 months pregnant atm, and I looked in the mirror and practised how I am going to look when they stick Make sure you drink heaps of water, it flushes all the medications from your system, its one of the ways to prevent ohss. Which I believe I had mildly this cycle..

Are you twinging ? And why are you waiting till May for transfer?

Hi to all you loverly ladies

JBM- Glad you and DH are talking again and hope you are feeling better.

Mindhugs- Great results for you, just remember it only takes 1 egg. I was bloated after EPU but it only lasted a few days. Just rest and take it easy.

    Mollygirl1977- Hi to you.

EmmaPenguin- Congrats on your faint line, it stays for you. Good Luck for BT on Friday.

AFM Acupuncture went really well tonight, I felt so relaxed when I left and the therapist was really nice. I would recommend her. she is successful for me. this is the cycle for me.

    Hi girls!!

Rob - GL today with your transfer, we will be in the TWW wait together with twins!!!! lots of for you!!

JBM - Hi how you doing hun??? I think hubby might just need some time to absorb what is happening. What if you did another stim cycle and got a whole new batch of embryos!! A different batch might be the trick!!

BabyDreamTime - I dont know how you do it...you are so strong and an inspiration. We fully intend to keep going at it this year until we get our bub! You will get yours too!!

Jaxi - I hope you are feeling better. GL with your appt!

Mindhugs - 3 blasties!! Good on you!!! Blasties are rare-uns! I'd be happy to get one to blastie stage! C'mon May!!!

Bella - See, glad you are on the up and up!!!

Lani - The AC is great isnt it, if it doesnt help with the implantation etc, it really is great for stress and stuff!!!

Wouldlovabubba - Hope the TWW isnt sending you insane! We are only 3 days in!!!

EmmaPenguin - It cant be the Pregnyl if it was neg one day and positive the next. It would be a line then get lighter, not no line then a line the next day... I reckon you are UTD!!!!!!!!!!!

    Big for everyone!!!!!

Kim and I are doing ok, she had 3 days off work after the transfer and laid around watching foxtel and dvd's all weekend. Her first day back is today and all the kids at her work (she manages a KFC store) know everything and they will do all the lifting etc!! They have already nicknamed to twins Petrie and Pipette!!!! How cute is that!!!
