AFM - i got my trigger this morning, i had 5 follies 4 were a good size one was medium size and going in for my first iui this afternoon and
my 2nd iui tomorrow afternoon. If this does not work which i dont have much hope of it working with clomid the fs will put me on injections
next month. So fustrating all my blood tests and scans come up good so not sure why i'm not falling pg :wall:

If it helps, when I made my appointment at Dandenong Fertility Centre in December they quoted me a little over $2,000. Was something like: $2,136.90.:
I've also got an appointment at RPA in Sydney and they quoted me only $1,408. I remember thinking that once you add flights/accommodation (if required being we do have family in Sydney we may be able to stay with)/hire vehicles onto the cost of treatment in Sydney, both would be a total cost of about the same amount....so I'm crossing fingers Dandenong works out for us cause then I don't have the stress of all the travel during treatment.
Thanks everyone, it is a little disappointing but we may have actually come up with a solution! :) Just hoping it all goes ahead!!! I'm still waiting for my nurse to call me back and let me know exactly what type of cycle we will be doing as yesterday she wasn't sure because my FS hadn't told her... She said it will be either a down reg cycle or an antagonist cycle but she is leaning towards thinking it will be a down reg one...
Kbudgie- yep! I have the price list for there for all procedures so if you want, pm me and I can let you know what the costings are! :)
Mel- I'm at TFC in Dandenong and it is around $2700 - $3300 out of pocket (if you havent hit the safety net and after you get your medicare rebate back) which is AMAZING but you need to pay the full amount up front which for IVF with ICSI is $7690... Someone had told me that before and I was unsure as well, but it turns out that they were right...
Can I just ask whether that price includes egg pick up and transfer?? That is usually done at a private hospital so is not included in the price of IVF. At both MIVF and Monash it is an extra $1200 or so (not rebateable unless you have PHI).
That's really odd cause I very specifically asked whether or not I had to pay everything upfront and then make a claim with medicare, and the person I spoke to said that no, that wasn't how it worked, I pay the GAP and they claim with Medicare the rest. Very strange.:

Yep n2l, it does include pickup and transfer, hospital and anesthetic fees- the procedures are done at the royal women's hospital in the city... :):
Mel- that's exactly what I thought until my appointment yesterday, and I was hoping and praying that I would only have to pay the gap... TFC will apply for the rebate for you but it isn't done until the end of your cycle... Fx'd you get a different answer though xxx

AFM.... The dreaded witch just arrived.... Wouldn't you know it.... Day 28.... Never comes this early.... DH said about an hour ago... maybe you are pregnant, as I said I wasn't feeling well.... Ah.... No.... There's your answer honey... Anyway, I'm okay about it, even though secretly I was hoping something natural would happen.... At least she'll be gone by Monday when DH and I are off to a Japanese Mountain Retreat in the dandenongs for two nights :) I bought a 'romantic package' which includes massages, private bathing in a hot spring, Japanese banquet on one night and just all round niceness.... Now we will be able to take 'full advantage' of it :) :)
as for TTC.... I don't know what to do next... We are not doing AC for a while, I don't know when I'll be ready to get back into it, although I have in my head if I was ten kgs lighter at least, that would be a good start..... Maybe after April.... But that means ill be 37 when I have my first baby :( never wanted to be a first time mum at that age... But as DH keeps telling me just be happy if we get one... I'd just love three or four... But no chance of that now, I'll be pushing to get two... Lets hope that's a possibility....

I'm in the same boat as you TTC- I have 2 embryo's in the freezer- but I'm not really 'feeling' it at the moment.
I feel all blah and disappointed about IVF these days :(
Need to lose weight and get my head in the game.
I've started thinking about my DD being an only child- preparing myself in case I can't fall pregnant again....
I hate that LTTTC is so complicated and robbed us of 'normal' feelings!
myturn i had to accept i will be at least 37 when (not if ) i have my first child. i also want at least 2 so maybe we need to start wishing for twins :lol:
But, for the record, 1976 was a good year! ;)
Pfft to "37"!! At this rate I'll be 37 before I even cycle again!

with our IVF Monash let us Just pay the Gap up front and we signed the forms for medicare which was a god send! (whinge...but useless after all that being it didnt achieve even one lil BFP for us lol) ( sorry but my situation is differnet to you so keep ur chin up its allways worth a chance.... and ill do it again :-)!)
does anybody know their AMH levels after 1 yr???
i got mine back and last yr they were 5.4 and a yr later they are now 5. is that ok? or are they dropping slow or quick? i dont know i gotta chat to FS i guess but we want to wait to do IVF for our private H.I to kick in which wont be till NOV. but not if it makes it sooo much harder!
any way my update is im 7DPO after a natural CY , DTD 2days before O so not much hope here lol ( er dont have much hope these days anyways!) ... no symptoms!
so id fall over haha if it happened, and then id run out of the house in my nightie with my peestick shouting to the neighbours BFP BFP! hahahahaha

Hi ladies,
I'm tentatively dipping my toes in here again :hide: It looks like we are doing a cycle in March. We have finally settled on buying a tatts business where we trained at last year (a bit further away than we would have liked, but it was considerably cheaper). So I am getting a tad excited, but not too much excited as we have had plans last year and they all went to poo. So I look forward to catching up with you all again! I might not be on here too much as when I start doing some hours in the shop, plus doing some extra things with DS, I might be a little tied up than usual. I am sorry to have gone awol for a while, lol.
I really feel in my bones that this year will be great for many of us in terms of getting that lovely, long awaited BFP. For the first timers and for the rest of us too!

Well a massive hi to all you lovely ladies. I've been away for a couple of weeks with no Internet!!! Aarrgghhh it's so hard not being able to just jump on and have a read of where your all at, sounds like I've missed a lot.
Jo I will be doing the same cycle as what they've said to you, antagonist icis cycle.
We have an appointment with FS on 31st of this month.
I'm not sure what will happen there, I'm guessing he will say he wants me to lose more weight, although I have lost almost 9kg. And then even if he does say we can start, money is then the issue for us too. We are trying to sell our house which will then allow us to have the money without borrowing it or struggling to come up with it..
I completely understand the no one to talk to about the whole ivf topic. Most people just say it will be fine, so many people do it! And if I hear one more person tell me about "someone they know, knows someone who just fell pregnant right before doing ivf" I will lose my mind. It's not going to just happen for us. That's the hard bit.......

Juniper - can you update me to CD1 today, please? Bit disappointed, thought we still had a chance, but no... So now back into FET, 2nd round. Am super nervous and quite excited. Have to see what we're going to do if this cycle doesn't work, as my DH is starting to get over all this and wants to see if there is anything else we could do, like PGD or something. I'm not too keen, as that will mean, loads of extra money?!, another fresh cycle :$ and all the other stresses that brings with it, and the needles :$. I think FET is already invasive enough and we still have 6 ice babies to use up... Anyway, first things first... Hope you girls are alright, have been quietly stalking! xx

AFM - this cycle I had iui on Monday and cause thank goodness dp was home we dtd on
Monday night then done my 2nd iui on the Tuesday and dtd Tuesday night around ovulation time
so even though I'm not confident on clomid I'm praying non the less it's worked this time, a friend's father
of mine is in hospital who I have been visiting and am supposed to go this morning and visit again has just told me she has shingles should I worry?

Thanks williamsmummy i did not go but i was there yesterday and the day before that and the day before that, but that was before she knew she had shingles. I've had chicken pox so hopefully i will be ok :crossfingers:
still waiting for AF, 31 days seems like such a long time.... I know it isn't but it just feels that way. I need to get back to normal and I am not sure what to expect after MC - not really sure about anything as it was my first BFP too. I feel like I am letting DH down as I am wallowing and dont have the motivation to do laundry let alone dtd but I think I have held back for fear of conceiving again and my body not being ready and having another MC. We were advised to wait 1 cycle and my 28 days is up. Come on already dear AF, you could show up on time every month for the first 2 years of TCC :S now you can't show up as expected??!!
My honorary Aunty gave me some parsley today, apparantly some old wives tale if someone gives you parsley you will get pregnant, has anyone heard that before? If only things were so simple? Can't hurt to be given some parsley and good wishes though I guess xx

Rai - am keeping my fingers crossed this will be it for you this month as well! At least it seems like you've given it a good shot, with 2 x DTD and 2 x IUI!
Kbudgie - Big hugs for you... Hope you're feeling a bit better today... Fingers crossed AF will show up soon. Don't forget that after m/c your HSG needs to go down to 0 first and then it will be approx. a cycle length from that. It took my AF about 42 days to come back after mm/c. Did they do any blood tests to track HSG down? But hopefully it won't be long now!

kbudgie, my d&c cycle was 35 days. I know the hcg was gone (or at least low enough to get a BFN on the HPT) in less than 2 weeks and I tracked my cycle (OPK & BBT) to detect O. Try to be a bit kinder to yourself. At one month post-d&c I was barely finding my way out of the deep depression I had fallen into and I struggled for months. It wasn't until the EDD passed that I really started to move on properly. Not everyone would need that long, but there's no shame in needing more time. We all handle the grief differently. I know it has been a long wait, but this cycle will end and you will move on to the next. FX the next one brings you more happiness. :hug:

Rai, I asked a doctor once coz someone at work had shingles. She said it's only contagious if you have not had chicken pox and rub the sores. If you've had chicken pox apparently you can't catch shingles, you can develop them but that could happen any time, nOt from contact. However she said, try not to touch someone else's sores. Well duh! If unsure, call the nurses line for reassurance.
I had chicken pox when I was three and got shingles when I was six...very rare for a kid to get it apparently but much better than getting it as an adult...don't take any chances!
Just started all our PGD testing again as our clinic now uses a new clinic for their feasibility testing...hoping it doesn't take too long to get it sorted...fx

after losing Zachary at 8 weeks to T18. I am going a bit bonkers, over a year of TTC we finally get preggers and he had T18... I mean really?? whats the chances :shakehead:
Hubby wrote a pleading email to our FS and they are letting us do another FET cycle at a discount and also allowing us to pay it off rather than upfront, claiming medicare first too. Some light of hope and generosity at this monumental crappy time.
I am not sure when I am going to start I have have one normal AF before we start, as my DC was on the 31st of December. I am stressing a bit as my boobies are still leaking as well which may hold off AF. I have tried the meds to dry it up and they just make me feel so sick. Any advice to get them to dry up?
