I hate needles too Rai - have had a phobia of them since I was a kid and these ones really haven't bothered me at all.

I'm a complete needle-phobe too! As a teen, I remember lining up at school for the rubella shot. As soon as my class was called in, I started puking, just simply at the thought of having to go into that room and have a needle! Trust me, if I can do these, anyone can!
You sound just like me Juniper, I was too much of a wuss to even get my rubella shot! My mum didn't make me get it. I had a panic attack the first time I went for a blood test and ran out of the place. I then discovered emla patches and have used them for blood tests ever since.
I've always had the same reaction to the sight of blood too, so you can imagine blood tests are particularly fun! It wasn't until my 30s (when we started seeing an FS) that I could get through a b/t without puking after. And that was when I lay down to get it done! I managed okay for a couple of years at the clinic and then they got rid of the beds so I had to sit up! I just about had a panic attack the first time! I've come a long way though. I can sit up just fine now (isn't necessity amazing?) and only have a problem if they take a lot of vials.
The things we have to go through hey, and yes necessity is amazing. It's surprising how strong we can be when we want something so badly...
I got AF at about 5.00pm this afternoon so does that count as day 1 today or is that day 1 tomorrow?
Hi to everyone sorry no persies dp in hospital and things crazy here
rai - my FS says any bleeds after midday are counted as AF the following day .. hope that helps :)
Rai - my clinic also says anything in the afternoon isn't counted till the next day - it's the first FULL day of bleeding that is CD1
but if you are unsure you should ask your clinic.... hmm... it might be too late now.... they'll be closed... but I'm pretty sure if you wait until the morning it will all be okay anyway.
stick with CD1 being tomorrow i reckon :)
Rai, I hope your partner is Ok x
Rai, hope your partner is okay and it's nothing serious. You'll have to ask your Dr's office about the CD1 thing. My first would call it CD1 as long as it started before his office closed (4pm), but my new FS will only call it CD1 if it starts before 8am!! I can put you as CD0 for now and we can update when you find out.
Wow I've never thought to ask my FS that question, I've always called CD1 the day it started no matter what time... Oops I better ask them next time I speak to them. Rai I hope your partner is ok.
Thanks everyone my partner is not good but he will get better
It may just take a while, yes you were all right I spoke to fs this
Morning and today is cycle day 1.
Hello
thank you for the invite Nothing2Lose :)
AF arrive this morning and I am actually petrified about having to ring the clinic to start my first ever IVF cycle, every time I think about it I start to feel sick and scared and my heart races.... I dont think I am ready, is that normal?
I just keep having this thought that I dont want to do IVF, but after 6 years of trying everything else, I really have no other option, so why I am so scared :(

rai, I hope he recovers quickly.
Ceejelz, hi and welcome! I was terrified by our first IVF, so I'd say it's normal. That said, if you're really, really not ready, there may not be any harm in waiting? It depends upon your specific situation though, so I'd discuss it with your FS if you do want to wait. IVF isn't easy, but it's not as bad as you imagine. If it had been even half as awful as I feared, there is no way we'd have done 5 of them!
Good afternoon lovely ladies, time for a new thread.
All the best.
