Stomach. I tried one in the thigh and... lets just say it didn't go well. It HURT! The tummy ones went much better. I remember Melbel explaining that the drug would be absorbed better from there rather than injecting into legs or bottom.

i did my injections in my stomach. but thats coz im an itty bitty girl with no fat, so my tummy is the softest part of me...
BG - i was on puregon for about 2 1/2 weeks and my bp was all over the place. i always felt tired, run down and dizzy. i chewed alot of panadol from intense headaches!!! i also found it took a couple of weeks after last injection for me to feel normal again. im just so glad i took Elevit otherwise i probably wouldnt have had the energy to get out of bed some days.
good luck for todays scan..
me - seeing FS tomorrow lunchtime
quick question. i had a natural transfer cycle but a couple of odd things happened. for starters i spotted for a couple of days (which has NEVER happened before) usually AF just comes in one mighty hit! then just before i got AF i passed - WARNING TMI ALERT!!- what was like a small membrane thingy.
DH believes i fell pregnant and had a miscarriage coz i was sooooo sick. im sure that may be the case, but i would have only been 2 weeks pregnant... should i tell my FS about this or am i just reading into it all too much?
Sonya, I'd mention it. It may be nothing, but you'll always wonder if you don't mention it to the FS.
BW
Sonya - i agree, it's best to mention even the things that seem unsignificant to your FS - they may tell you not to worry, but they'll make a note of anything "different" in case it happens again. good luck with your appointment
Sarah - i always did the injections in the stomach - partially because that's where the nurse said to do it, but mostly cos you have fatty deposits in your tum rather than a lot of muscle - and sucutaneous injections hurt less than intramuscular ones if you happen to hit the muscle! for all the injections i've had, i've ony bruised maybe three or four times - and over half of them were last cycle with the antagonist meds which you shouldn't have to take
ok, now on to the self absorbed bit of my post! went for u/s this morning, and i have one healthy looking follie - no need for antagonist meds, no follow up u/s - it's ready to go! so one more dose of puregon tonight, trigger tomorrow, and IUI on Wednesday! less than a week from start to finish! now THAT is the way all cycles should be!! i was supposed to have a week of leave next week for hubby's birthday, but have swapped that to this week so no having to do injections at work, or trying to fit appointments in - it's all me-time! i can't believe after all the waiting and messing around to get here that we've actually gotten to IUI so quickly - yay!!
woo hoo! good stuff bg.
im off to have a turkish delight icecream to celebrate for you!
mmmm, i might indulge in some vanilla ice cream later to celerate (you can keep your turkish delight!) - although, DH mentioned cooking a batch of scones later to have with jam and cream after we seen some on the shops today..
Hi Everyone:D
Haven't been on over the weekend - It was another BIG one... Won't write about it again, as I have just written a big post about it in a new thread!!!!!
BG - YAY for you!!!!!
Everything is just going perfectly for you for this cycle... lets hope it follows through and this one is the one for you xxx
Sarah - I have both read and been told that the best place is in the tummy - From what BG said about fat deposits, and also because its in the area of the ovaries & reproductive section and it is absorbed better, I have been told on all 4 cycles to do it in my tummy xxx
Chez - SO glad the CD arrived!!! You will have to let me know what you think!!
Jo - YAY YAY YAY YAY again!!! I know I've already written that, but it can't hurt no matter how many times I say it!!!!!!!! :D
BW - How are you going sweetie? xxx
Tracey Lee - Big big hugs to you :hugs::hugs: So sorry xxx
Hi to everyone else - Sorry I haven't got much time for personals - Am about to start lessons, but will be back on later tonight!!!
Hope everyone is great,
Love Holly
xxx :D
Tracey, sorry to hear about the unsuccessful transfer. It's good to know you have a few on ice though - I assume that takes a bit of pressure off you mentally at least.
Kotare, due to a cow at work I was in a bad mood Fri afternoon and after venting to DW I stopped and said "Oh but I do have some good news" and then went on to tell her about your BFP. It made us both happy, and it's funny how even though most, or all, of us have never met, everyone's good and bad news is very important.
Loula, hi. Yeah I have been a bit quiet. Nothing really happening with us at the moment but I do seem to have had less to say than usual. No reason though.
Ali, hope the Puregon injections continue OK. For some reason I am a bit more concerned (only very mildly) about giving the Puregon injections to DW instead of, or teogether with, the Lucrin. The Lucrin just seems easier, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
Cheryl, I'm pleased this cycle is shaping up so well. Sounds promising. I notice your signature has changed to "40". Happy birthday!
BG, good news on the short cycle. That's a huge bonus.
BW, hope the arthy pain eases up. Anyway, I'm putting money on you being pregnant again very soon. Anyone who can do it on the first cycle is bound to do it again soon!
BeiBei, sorry to hear of your loss as well. Hope you are feeling OK.
Ellie, how are you?
Sonya, DW is in the same boat with regard to body type. Although I am going to have to squeeze hard to get a big enough roll to jab! And in regards to your question it's definitely worth raising, even if they have no answer for you. At least you'll be clearer.
Sarah, I'll be veru interested to hear how your first needle goes. If my DW can agree with me that they're small and fairly harmless looking, then there's hope for everyone.
Holly, read your other thread. Don't let the nutters get you down but I agree that what was said sucks. It's utter rubbish.
Hi to Shannon, Nic, Karena and anyone else I've missed. This personals post is so long but I'm sure there is someone I've missed. Sorry if I have.
DW starts Lucrin on this coming Monday. That's about it for now.
BG & BW - With regards to doing the injections in the tummy because of the fatty deposits, I think I could do them in my bum I have LOTS of fat back there PMSL!
Another question about the injections, am I right that there is a post on here somewhere from Mel regarding injections? I went looking but couldn't find it?
BG - Already posted in your journal, but just wanted to do a YAY for your IUI on Wednesday.
Holly, posted in your journal too, nothing spectacular, I honestly didn't know what to say.
Rols, Good to hear all is well with you and your DW.
BIG hello to everyone else.
Nic
nic, there was a post or a thread from Mel in regard to injections - can't remember whether she posted in this thread a couple of months back, or whether it was a seperate thread - will see what i can find for you hun
Is this what you are looking for Nic?
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...750#post618750
there is another post a further down that thread too.
Hi everyone else...I am reading and keeping up just hibernating a bit trying not to think too hard about having no money to do another cycle.
d'oh! you beat me mel - i found another one you posted a month or so later
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...&postcount=108
hope that helps!
ooh cool, thanks Mel and BG :) Will go and check them out.
Nic
I remember digging Mel's posts up a while back. It's a question that keeps coming up, perhaps we should sweet talk Mel into putting it all into one post in a new thread and when Sushee's back we sweet talk her into making it a sticky note. *bats eyelashes innocently* What do you think?
Today's been a good day... I'm picking myself up and preparing to move on. I know they're not all going to be good days from here, but I'm choosing to be as positive as I can be for now. Still feeling very self-absorbed and not able to offer much support to others just now, but I hope everyone can understand and accept that.
BW
Time for a new thread girls. It couldn't wait until Sushee got back from Egypt ;)
