loula - How are you darling??? Feeling a bit better? I do admit that's one of the reasons for wanting a "flare" cycle, whilst you feel it in the end, the journey's a much nicer/quicker one!!!
Sushee - Thanks for giving me some hope, something that's always desperately needed in the IVF game. It's always a trade off isn't it??? 2 day vs Blast, Flare vs Down Reg, they never make life easy for us do they???
Briggsy's girl - I fully understand the need for the down reg, I'm just praying like mad I won't need it. I suppose the main reason I'm hoping we can skip the down reg is because my hormones are flatlined anyways, six rounds of clomid have shown that ... I seem to have one of those really lazy reproductive systems, if there's not a drug in there making the hormones work then they're not going to do it themselves!!! That's why I'm hoping for a flare, 'cause can't see much of a point of being on the pill for three or so weeks when my hormones are flatlined anyways!!!
Chez67 - Oooooooo will you keep us informed of your cycle??? I'd really like to know how it goes and how much of a difference there is compared to the down reg. I hope this cycle works for you sweet and you're baby gazing before you know it!
Where O where are you Traceylee and Sonya??? Hope you're feeling a bit better today ....
-
Diva - i completely understand wanting to do a flare cycle - having done two failed down reg cycles, it's something i can definitely sympathise with!! my hormones are flatlined permanently as well, but i wasn't lucky enough to avoid the down reg until they proved it wouldn't work! oh well, experimentation is the name of the game, i guess!
Chez - i've done a flare cycle - and will be starting another soon. i was put on a higher dose of puregon, and went for a scan on day 7 - so i'm ghinkgin it's pretty much the same as what you're doing - good luck hun!

Just a quick hi from me everyone, I seem to have missed some of the last thread again!
Welcome Mrs eeyore :)
Tracey and Sonya, will be thinking of you two of your TWW's :)
BIG hello to everyone, will try to catch up on the old thread in the next day or so..
Lou, hope you are feeling better :)
We had our nurse appointment over the phone yesterday, she was lovely. Told us to call her if we have any questions and if she doesnt know the answer she will find it and call us back. Told us we could get books from the libraary sent to us and that we can also access the counsellors over the phone as well. She is going to call us back closer to our three month mark and see how close we are getting to heading down there. She said she is over at the theatres every day, so hopefully she will be able to catch up with us when we do go down.
DH is leaning towards driving the 1000klms instead of flying.. we just have to wait to see what will happen. FS#1 said we will go down the night before EPU, and stay for 3 nights, but the nurse yesterday said we will have to go there for our trigger shot and wait the 36 hours for EPU, which obviously means an extra couple of days accommodation! Nothing to stress about though, I'll sort it out :)
Catch up with you all later :)

Hi All
As you can see I am a newbie around here :)
My name is Kellie and my husband Ross and I have been TTC #1 for coming up two years now. I am currently on my third fresh IVF cycle, injecting 125iu of puregon and sniffing synarel like a tropper.
We are currently under the wonderful team at Fertility North in Joondalup WA, after being with Hollywood previously. We live in country WA so I am forever travelling back and forth for scans and appoitments.
Will hopefully be able to go back and read up on you all, and look forward to chatting to you all more.
Cheers
Kells

Howdy nic, KLF & Ellie ... nice to see some "regional and remote IVF'er, we're yet to start our IVF journey and we'll be jetsetting alot for treatments as well.
I see you've all been through at least one round of IVF (and my sincere appologies for that) so is there any hints, tips, or advice for us??? Do you have to be close to your clinic for the whole cycle or do you travel back and forth??? If you only travel down for the EPU and ET how long do you normally stay??? Have you ever had to fly after ET and was this allowed???
Gosh I have soooo many questions about this, so anything you can swing our way would be lovely, as we're finding the IVF itself very daunting, and all the travel and arrangements and scheduling seem to make an already difficult position almost impossible! ;)

Me too Diva i have no idea what im about to go thru and i need to know more. Where are you from??
????????Im having heaps of trouble understanding all the short terms for everything :help:. Whats the difference between having the spray and not having it????? Whats a flare cycle, god i have so much to learn. You girls know so much about everything.I'll be bullet proof by the time i go back into the clinic cause i learn so much from you all.
Hey Chez im having my EPU on the 20th Aug and i start my spray on the 24th july so you might even over taken me. I think Rols is the same as me too not 100% tho.
-
Hi Diva!
Good luck with your cycle...it is daunting and your first cycle is a HUGE learning curve...you will find out so much about your body and how you respond to the meds. If you have a long way to travel I'd stay close to the clinic between EPU and transfer so you can relax and recover. Best wishes with everythingxxx

Ellie - We live far, far, far away from everything! :cryinglaugh: We live on King Island a little blip of an island halfway between Melbourne and Tasmania, and is offically recognised as one of the four most remotest places in Australia!!! There is a hospital here, but it doesn't do any OB/GYN and the only way on or off this place is via plane, and the planes are very tiny, so you have to book your tickets weeks in advance to ensure a seat. The tickets aren't cheap either, so any cancellations in appointments is going to hurt the back pocket mightily!!! So anything that can help make this already difficult situation easier we're all for it!
mumof5 - The only reason we know anything about anything is that we've read, read, and read some more!!! ;) There's also an IVF advocate group that we've joined up with and there's a couple of medical journals that we've also signed up for and receive scientific studies from them as well ... we've also contacted quite a few IVF clinics for information packages as well, as we didn't know if we'd go with Melbourne or Tasmania ... see living here does have some perks!!! Also don't forget your local library, they have lots of IVF books to help you understand ... including one written especially for the blokes ... I'm sure Rols has probably read it, it's very good too.
If you want to know any info on where I got my info from and where you can get your own feel free to PM me, and I'll tell you where I got my info from if you want ... I won't bombard this forum with all the links, no doubt it's illegal and even if it's not there's a few and it'd be a pain!

Diva...I know King Island...my Parents best friends parents lived there...can't remember there first names ...Ford is their surname? Wow...that really makes the whole IVF journey interesting/challenging/$$$$! Having had an ectopic I'd be staying close to the hospital intil 8 weeks!!! But I'm a big sook!

Feeling heaps better today!!even did a bit of shopping and im back at work tomorrow - only in the office though!
My boss is a real gem and i thank her for all the love and surport that she has given me (she really needs Friday off and cant take it without me being there so as long as im not lugging around 15kg babies i feel fine to go in, not that she asked i HAD to offer.
I think all the pain that i had been getting was mainly to do with my bowel!!and it was just luck that they did a scan and could see how large my ovaries really were or i think TF would have gone ahead no worries!!Onve my bowel opened my pain was GONE!!(must be someone up there not wanting me to really suffer)
My blood work was all fine so they may have gone ahead with just that too, but haveing the large ovaries is what made my DFS stop and really think about it, and he said with the quality of the embies so far????who knows, which makes me feel like kicking myself for not screaming about the dose a little more, i did Q it several times ARE YOU SURE THIS IS THE DOSE YOU WANT ME ON???????? ive always got 16/17 eggs on 150-175iu??????
Anywhoo thats that now and i just have to look forward to getting going when i can again!!and with my cycles who knows when that will be!!!or even if i do it again this year, we are off to London to see my family in December so who knows ????
MO5 - what is the difference between having and not having the spray??? my saniety!!with my first IVF cycle i was like - 'whats the big deal this is really not that bad' but after now having gone through 9 cycles - dont ask (two canciled) I have seen the other side without syneryl. The syneryl really turns your ovaries off so that when you start the FSH injections they kick start (but not always hey BG?) A flare cycle is a cycle without the down reg - no pill no spray no shutting down your ovaries. Most women with PCOS find this cycle better for them. - And dont worry im still learning heaps from here too, and hitting my FS with all my Q hehehehe
Nic - whoohoo your nurse sounds great - i wish mine would return my calls!!!I dont get the overnight accomidation??? do you live that remote?? and dont stress about trigger - once its done its done, if it helps think what labour might be like.hehehe
OMG OMG I HAVE TO POST THIS NOW - My nurse just called and i have 12 BLASTIES FROZEN!!!!!!!!!!I can not believe it OMG thats the best thing to come out of this cycle
