Well I am jumping over to tww as I guess that's where I should be as I should have ovulated by now. FS app next wed to organise treatment plan to start when AF arrived as I have no doubt it will.
Boat gets picked up by new owners tomorrow, money is in the bank so very happy we can do a new cycle and actually feel like I am doing something that might get me my bfp!!

Hello ladies,

Just a quick update from me about my FS visit today. I asked him about the DHEA and the CQ10 or somethig like that and he basically told me that he doesn't believe these will help me (not a great believer in them anyway apparently). He was happy to try again what we have done in the past (like I suspected) but also said we could try a different thing which is relatively new. Basically, you go on this slow release follicle stimulant, so you jab once and it lasts 8 days. Then you start the second injection as per normal (the one that stops you from ovulating). It means that insted of the follies being bombarded with the drugs every day, this method stimulates the ovaries very gently, and in his experience so far, the eggs and embryo quality ends up much better. He said he's seen patients with average brade B and C embryos got to grade A. Anyone heard of this???? I got a bit excited, but my OH is crapping his pants about possibly going for another cycle.

Look into it ladies, my FS said that all the cycles he's done so far with this new treatment have produced great results. He said it's only been around since December...I know you don't have an issue with your AMH levels or egg quality n2l, but it might be worth looking into as well as that scraping of the lining to make it implant. I think that the reason he didn't mention this to me earlier in the year when I did my 3rd cycle is because he really thought that there was no reason to change anything since the 'short' cycle has worked for me in the past. He saw how worried I was now and suggested I could try this new cycle. We'll see I guess but I will look more into it :)

Myturn - I hate how bloated we get. Its like we need to stick a pin in us to get all the excess air out of us :)

MissB - Thats interesting about the new drug. It would be great if it worked to impove our egg quality. My FS also doesn't believe in CoQ10 or anything like that. I also asked about baby asprin but he said no. Last cycle I started eating 2 kiwi a day as its meant to be a natural blood thinner and I got a BFP. Hmm...I have an FS appointment next Thursday so I may ask him about Elonva.

Me4ever - How are you doing hunni? I know your going through the same thing as me, although your further along than me. Does it get any easier???

It seems everyone in here at the moment is really battle weary. So many have come and gone from this thread (so thrilled for each and everyone of them) but we all seem to still be here. Not that I dont love all you lovely ladies.

I POAS this morning. A PG POAS. It was negative, which sadly is a good thing as it means the HGC is out of my system. Still (sorry tmi) bleeding, but only when I wipe. Yesterday was a hard day. I kept thinking this time last week I still thought I was pg.

I just have to keep thinking, well I got pg once, surely I can do it again. Well, thats what I am clinging onto anyway. And yes any number of babies would make me a very happy girl, singleton, twins, triplets at this stage I dont care.

I can personally to coQ10. Since starting taking it I have had better eggs, embryos and 100 per cent fertilisation. I was taking 150mg. Since my last stim I upped it to 300mg, but am now taking 600mg on the advice of new FS.

I am going to go out and buy some this weekend. I have seen it at the chemist. I will take it in case we end up doing another stim.

It cant hurt Vic. And it definitely gives you more energy.

You can also buy it at Woolworths. They have the Swisse range. It's not cheap, but then nothing in this infertility game is :(

My acu lady said she knows someone in the city, but that's too far for me (she herself lives in Brighton which is a 30 minute drive). I wanted to go and see someone good closer to home, for some drinking chinese herbs but someone who specialises in infertility/fertility, you know what I'm on about! lol.

I can definatley do with more energy. Feel so zapped lately.

I don't know from experience, but I was loooking on the internet and there is a guy in Oakleigh that claims to specialise in fertility and IVF...... I just googled and this guy came up... NO idea what he is like... but if anyone knows....??

Thanks hun :) My acupuncturist did recommend a guy in Russell St but I'd have to make a trip every 2 to 3 weeks, and in between with my acupuncture it would be too much travelling me thinks. I'd rather go and see someone closer by.....

miss b - just a quick one, on my phone, but last stim I did was with elonva (slow release injection, lasting 7-8 days). i was lucky & FS had a 1 sample left that she let me try. best results for me so far.

afm - af arrived yesterday, finally. will call FS monday & arrange biopsy. hopefully my next cycle is shorter than 39 days so I don't have to wait too long to get it done.

I go to Dr Steven Orloff on Riversdale Road in Camberwell and I think he is really good. He gave me herbs aswell however he does advise you that he is not a registered herbalist. I can honestly say that I believe acupunture works. I got no eggs on my first cycle and, after starting acupuncture and increasing Puregon, got 22 eggs on my second cycle. I have also noticed that my period was much shorter and less painful (still a bit painful unfortunately). Even my sceptical partner has told me that I'm much warmer than I used to be - honestly I used to be so cold all of the time !
Best of luck with the acupuncture....it's worth it!

Wow, so much has been typed in the last 2 days... I've been very busy at work and today spent a day looking for a wedding dress :) I found a beautiful one. I do anything to keep busy so this cycle will be over before we know it, will be trying naturally this cycle, besides the acupuncture, at least no other appointments or medication (besides Metformin).

MyTurn - Am glad you're feeling a bit better. Are you keeping up the drinking and have you upped your protein? I've been married before and we organised it in 3 months then, like you.. But that was a tiny wedding and I didn't get a "proper" wedding dress that time. I'm slowly starting to cross things off the list and can't wait till all is organised. 4 months to go and out of that we'll be in Europe for 1 month... We found a dress on the rack as well and have taken it home today. I'm so excited. It was so much fun as well, I didn't think the dresses would look good on me, but 12 out of 14?! did... And we could narrow it down to 2 dresses pretty quickly.

Vic - How are you doing, hon? It definitely goes with ups and downs, the healing process. We're now almost 2 months past the m/c, but it almost feels like longer ago. I don't get as emotional about loss as I used to in the first few weeks, but I do have my moments... Especially when I see pregnant women, I try to not go to places where lots of them are gathered. (although I work in a library where there are loads of mums with bubs and pregnant ones. Also when 1 of the ladies brought up the pregnancy book that I had had :(. I had to swallow away some tears... But our pregnancy was problematic from the start, so maybe in a way we were prepared for a possible loss, although we were always hopeful and had seen the babies heart beating on several occasions.

Hi ladies, well I'm off the FS tomorrow to hear what he has to say about our 2 failed cycles and I can't wait, I'm like a kid before Christmas even though I know he is going to say everything was perfect and sometimes it just doesn't work. I feel like I'm in limbo again and hate it because we don't know what the plan is next and I am a plan person, I need to know we have a plan to move forward and then I will be able to relax and wait out the next cycle. I just wish today would hurry up and be over.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend it was lovely to have some sun in Sydney even if it was still freezing.

N2L - I went to woolies and almost fainted at the price of the CoQ10. $30 for 30 capsules and they are 150g so will have to take 4 a day. At that rate its $30 a week. I am going to go to national pharmacies after work and see if they have a better deal. I am a member so will get the 20% off.

AFM - Am still struggling with life in general really. The business isn't going as well as expected and DH is constantly freaking out about money. He doesn't want me blaming him if we cant afford IVF. I said "hunny, I blame myself far more that I will ever blame you". We are now thinking about doing another Stim round with our tax returns. I am not really up for it, but since its been the best results so far and time is ticking think its better to accumulate as many eggs as we can in this medicare safety threshold year. It will depend on what my FS says on Thursday with my phone appointment. I want to do it as I feel its our best chance, just hate that we are back to square one. I know once we start I will rise to the occasion. I have been reading about Elonva and hope to be able to go that way. Which should make it easier.

Just a quick one...

Woolworths here has them (Swisse brand) for $20 for 30 x 150gm caps on special until Wednesday. Maybe even look online.

It is expensive though. The cheapest I can get them down to is about $80-90 a month. That said, I spend about $300 a month on supplements at the moment. It's about to get higher because I pick up my script for DHEA and melatonin today.... Infertility is crazy expensive, which just adds to the suckiness of it really :(

Chemart had the blackmores coQ10 for $20 last week, I grabbed a few jars then. I take blackmores because they seemed a smaller tablet therefore easier for me to swallow:)

hi everyone else, hope your monday is going ok.

afm - just waiting for FS to call back with a date for biopsy, ill ask for her to do a pipelle while shes in there. ive read that a pipelle before a stim can be beneficial too and im hoping to do a stim after biopsy. getting a bit bored with all the waiting atm though, cant believe its nearly august already. :rolleyes:

My follow up appt from my d&c last week went well. She said that the hysteo thingy came back good and said that it was healthy pregnancy tissue. Which she said "strangely, thats a good thing". She said my uterus wouldn't have been the reason the baby failed to grow. So I guess thats another thing we can strike off the list. She said try losing some weight, and I said I was actually hitting the gym after work. She said its hard when its unexplained infertility. And I said yes, hard & expensive!

So now we just need a strong healthy embryo/baby that wants to stick around the whole 9 months!

Vic glad to hear all the checks on everything came back good, hope that helps you with working through the pain of it. Good luck at the gym, weight loss is a hard painful road, I know all to well since I am on it ATM. There is a thread n2l started if you want to join us, I don't know how to put the thread link inherent but if you search for 'getting buff to get up the duff' that's where we are :-)

Vic, I agree on doing a stim cycle hun. That way you'll get eggs at your current age, and not older eggs if you wait to do a stim. And then hopefully you'll have a few more frosties up your sleeve ;). Sorry to hear that there was nothing wrong with the little one, I guess when you have a reason like a chromosomal abnormality, it's sometimes easier to accept. It just seems such a waste when there was nothing wrong with the embie :hug:

AFM, I am getting somewhere with my OH. I have asked if we can do a cycle in September and possibly one in November if the September one doesn't work and he agreed. I really want to squeeze 2 more this year as I don't think I will be doing any more next year. So yay!!! Now I have a dilema as I have to decide whether to do more acu sessions and the chinese herbs, I'm just really not sure if the 3 months of intense acu sessions before the last cycle really helped. I didn't end up with any good eggs/embryos. And advice on that ladies?

Missb - I too will be only doing IVF for the rest of this year. I turn 42 in January and figure if its not happened by then, it will never happen. I feel I need a deadline to be able to move on. So I figure 1 more stim, use up the frosties then shut the door and move on. For me I found the acupunture didn't help me either and it was so expensive so I stopped doing it.

N2L - I hope you have recovered from the biopsy. With mine, I felt fine the next day and the bleeding had stopped. I am praying that with all the new things that your trying this will be your month!!!

AFM - I am starting to feel better about things. I know that if bubs wasn't right it was better to have the decision made for us, however much it hurt. They didn't test the embryo itself only tissue surrounding it. Country hospital and no technology I guess. Still I was very happy with the treatment I received. My dr came in multiple times to check on me. We have decided that if the baby thing doesn't pan out we will be in for a big lifestyle change. Change of jobs, change of location just change everything really. Our life is designed to have a child and if it doesn't happen I want to go and do something different. I have been in my job 14 years and although I love it am more than ready for another challenge. I work 9 till 3, am on great money so is perfect to have a child and still work, but if no child then something needs to change. I want to travel more, maybe spend a few months overseas, just start living life instead of living in limbo.

Another about me post...what are you girls thoughts on my doing ICSI. DH has good sperm apparently but I was wondering if its worth pushing for ICSI as its only another $25 out of pocket for us and thinking it may be good to pick the best of the best sperm. Especially since this will be our last stim, I really want to get the very best results out of it. I am going to talk to my fs on Thursday about Elonva and doing ICSI.
