HI Guys *throws hat in sheepishly*
Apologies for my long absence but have kinda been burying my head in the sand for a few weeks after the disappointments of March and April.
I have been keeping up with the posts but haven't replied cos ...well...I haven't really had much to say. We are the worst sort of limbo land, the kind where the light at the end of the tunnel is so far away you almost can't see it. No money for any more cycles and no likelihood of having enough money saved for another before the end of next year by then I'll be 39 and it may be too late for my eggies, so kinda life is really sucky at the moment.
But enough about me I had to come in and say a huge congratulations to BW...I firmly believe this is it for you girl after all your dramas I think this is the pot of gold at the end of that journey I really do. I too will have everything firmly crossed until friday (and I can do that cos my fertile time isn't until next week!!)
Welcome to all the newbies and a special note to Rols...if you want some info on injections I posted some a couple of months or so ago which people seemd to find useful...I am not sure how to search for it.....Sush any ideas? Just so as you know Iam an insulin dependent Diabetic so needles are like "whatever' to me - much preferred the lucrin injections even to the synarel spray. There are some tricks to making the injection less painful, stuff that a nurse probably wouldn't know cos they even though they are taught to give injections they don't actually do it to themselves several times a day for 28 yrs!!
if anyone can help point me in the right direction to find those posts I would be most appreciative.
Jo.....I am sorry that your FS is giving you grief...maybe we could have a get together for coffee or something one day...it might be nice to have a IRL person who knows what you are going through.
Lou I am sorry you seem to be having hassles at the moment and as such can't access the support you need...feel free to pm me if you want to chat.
To everyone else  It seems that we are all a bit flat in here at the moment...let's hope its just the weather and soon the sun will be shining and brightening our prospects somewhat...I mean who knows..I might win Tattslotto this week and all my problems will be solved (well almost all..still need a baby but YKWIM!).
i will try not to be such a stranger from now on.......
*sneaks out again*

It's so good to hear from you again, Mel! I so wish I could fix things for you.
Ellie, an autoimmune condition is just something where your immune system doesn't quite work right and tends to attack things it shouldn't. I'm not able to explain it all that well, but I have one - the rheumatoid arthritis. Deb (Flowerchild) has a lot more information and you might want to seek her out for some help and advice. Usual treatment is prednisone, which I'm currently taking for the arthritis anyway... Sorry I can't help too much - it's like my brain has turned to mush!
I just had to pop back in... even though I arranged to be out from work yesterday, and only a tiny handful of people knew the real reason... they made it look like I was sick and it was a normal I was just unwell that morning kind of day. And to make things even better... the biggest gossip in the school was out today as well. They'll probably be able to figure it out, particularly if I bail on Friday as well... but for now - my little secret is being protected! :)
I'm having a go at searching for Mel's injection posts - they were great! Just got to wait for the 200seconds to expire because I futzed it first go...
ETA: found 'em!

Hey Sparkles. Our next appt is on Tuesday where I get the results of my SA from the andrology peeps, and DW gets her results for everything.
As far as the actual IVF process, the girls would be better placed than me to offer advice on that, but assuming you, and my DW have no complications, I believe (not sure) that they place you on some drugs (injections - apparently painless enough) to produce more eggs, which they then extract from your body using a needle which goes thru the uterine wall and straight into your ovaries (they sedate you I'm told, and probably not as bad as it sounds). If you have PCOS as some of the ladies do, then there are other drugs in addition to try and sort those factors out.
Then they use your DH's sperm and mix with the eggs (either IVF or ICSI) and let the embies do their thing for a few days to see how they are growing. They put the best one or two back inside and hope for the best. If you are lucky enough to get a number successfully fertilised, then they can freeze those and simply do a frozen embryo transfer the next time (if unsuccessful in Round 1) which is much cheaper and much easier and doesn't require all the other crap.
Don't take this as gospel, it's just my understanding based on the bit I've learnt so far. I think they also place you on the pill to make sure your cycles are totally in sync with what they need them to be.

Hi MelBel. Thanks heaps for the links which BW has kindly found and posted. I'll have a look. At this stage I have no idea what drugs DW would have to take as we don't have her results yet. If she is all OK, then hopefully not many,
Without wanting to poke into your financial affairs, and I'm not sure how everyone else does it, but I sort of assume that most people get a decent credit card, pay upfront, get their rebates, and then keep chipping away at the couple of grand which is left. That's what we will need to do anyway. I had hoped to have the first round's out of pocket stuff saved up, but our computer blew up, my ute decided to chuck a big sook and then we have rates and rego coming up soon.

New thread time, everyone!
