Whooo Hooo Chris congratulations I knew this would be the month for you I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy
Oh Chris, that is absolutely wondeful news hun! I'm so thrilled for you. I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy ... but don't be a stranger!
FunMumma - I have no idea about oestrogen levels  I hope somebody else can help.
Linda - that is great that you have next week off. I hope your ultrasound goes smoothly tomorrow.
Alex - wow, sounds like you have been keeping yourself well and truly busy. I really hope you enjoy your time off before your FET - I've felt a lot happier and more relaxed this month, which is my break cycle on the Pill.
Sari - sounds like you're finding your break frustrating, so I hope it goes super quickly for you!
Shez, Shan, Leis and Tam - thanks so much for your help and advice about my dilemma! I'd started feeling like I was just being a pain in the neck trying to get ahold of this other doctor, and was going to give up and wait until next month. But you've all convinced me to keep on trying! I'll give Dr Hines a ring tomorrow morning. As it turns out, my spotting amounted to nothing, and AF hasn't actually started yet. I stopped taking the BCP 4 days ago, so I'm sure she's just around the corner though. I'm starting to feel really really nervous about the FET .. already psyching myself up for a BFN, which is a terrible attitude to be starting with! Maybe I need to start saying some affirmations, or making use of the clinic psychologist.
:) Congrats Chris... wonderful news. I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy and everything is just rosey from here on in.
Good luck Linda with your transfer and enjoy a well earned rest,
Good on you Cherie for being persistent. I know how you feel and it would be such a waste if a cycle was messed up b/c of some dr's that dont know whats going on. Go Chickee !!!
Take care
Sar
Bridget,
Oetrogen levels are an indicator of follicular growth, but unfortunately it's unreliable in terms of discovering quanity vs quality. In other words, as an example, your levels may indicate you may have 1-2 follies halfway to maturity, or several immature follies that will require more time. That's why you have the u/s, to see what's happening in there. However, to answer your question, it is (very) generally expected that you will show a level of approx 1000iu of oestrogen per mature follicle (ie only when the follie is 18-20mm). Out of interest, did they increase your dose of FSH from your last cycle?
Good luck and I hope it'll be good news whatever happens.
Chris, congratulations again! Such excellent news!!
Cherie, you crack that whip!
:hello: everyone else!
Hi all,
Well I had my scan today and they said that I needed to take the needles for a bit longer to increase the size of the follicles. They also increased my dose from 150 to 187 and will have another scan on Tuesday so pickup will now be later in the week depending on how Tuesday goes. I hope that They decide on Tuesday to do the trigger otherwise transfer won't be until next week. I guess I have to wait and see.
Linda
Morning Girls
Linda - I had my U/S yesterday and I have to continue as well and I have another U/S on Monday. I had 2 follies on my left over 12mm and on my right I had 6 follies over 12mm. She said that when I come in on Monday she is expecting to see more than 8 follies. I have to keep to the same dose. I hope your next scan goes well and you get your date for you pickup. You never know we could be going in on the same day. She asked if I was sore and I said no. So maybe another couple of days and I will but then again I only have 8 follies.................ideally I would like 10 as not all follies contain eggs.
Chris - Congrats :) :)
Cherie - I hope everything has been sorted out and you have the answers that you need.
Hello to everyone else :)
Jade
Hi everyone,
FunMumma I hope that the needles will be soon over for you. I am currently on day 8 and have to take them till Tuesday and then hopefully they can tell me when my transfer will happen.
Jade You were lucky to be told how many follies you had progressing. We weren't told and when we left both my husband and I said that we thought we would have been told. Dr Fox only said that they were doing fine but he would like to see some more growth and that is why he increased the dose. We will definetly ask next time. What dose are you on? I have had very minimal side effects until today. Today I have felt bloated and achey. I am not in pain but uncomfortable. I really hope that pickup and transfer is next week since I have taken the week off. I hope that things are going smoothly for you.
Shan I hope you are well. I hope that we hear some wonderful news from you soon. The ttc journey is very frustrating but lets hope that it will all be over soon and a new an exciting journey begins.
Danni I haven't seen you in here as much as usual. Hope you are well and that you are nice and relaxed so very soon you can give us some good news.
I hope everyone else is well.
Linda
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping I might join you here. I’ve decided I should kick myself out of the Clomid thread coz I no longer really belong there so I’m now looking for a new home. I already know some people here, but certainly not everyone.
My DH and I have been TTC for over 2.5 years and we’re pretty fed up with our complete lack of progress. We’ve recently decided to embark on IVF treatment and I’m scheduled to start Synarel in about a week.
I’m finding it all a bit scary, but at the moment we are both feeling quite positive. And relatively calm about things, which has been an unexpected surprise. I said to DH we've just handed Project Pregnancy over to the experts, and generally when you call in experts to help you get to kinda hand over some of the associated stress. A bit weird maybe, but it’s something like that. DH says he hasn’t slept so well in ages. I’m sure our calmness won’t last after we actually get started, so I’m determined to try to make the most of it while I can!
Look forward to talking with you all and sharing the next stage of the TTC journey. :)
Hi Allie,
I too left the clomid thread as I felt the same as you. We have just started with IVF for the 1st time as well. I find it nice to know that I can talk to others who are in the same situation. There are a few of us who are around the same stage so lets hope that it is a very successful couple of months.
We are currently on the Gonal needles and waiting to find out when the follicles are big enough for pickup. Overall I have had little side effects so that is good. I had an ultrasound on Friday where they upped my needle dosage slightly. Last night I woke up very bloated which was weird, I found it very difficult to get back to sleep as I felt so achey. I started to get nervous about having to take my next needle but when I woke up this morning I felt fine.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
Linda
Yay Allie....it is so lovely to see that you have joined us in here. As with Linda and yourself, i too left the clomid thread for the same reason, but you know whats going on with me, so i wont bore you again with it all.......
Good luck with the IVF, and isn't it true that you tend to sleep better when you're more relaxed about stuff and not constantly obsessing about TTC so much....Fingers crossed hun!
Welcome Allie - Hoping you get your BFP soon
Linda - I am on 150 Gonal. The last 2 days when DH has done my injection it really hurts doesn't matter which side of my tummy he does and boobs are really sore............kinda of they hurt like a week before my period.............strange..... read my IVF stuff and it doesn't say anything about sore boobs. Anyone else get sore boobs on gonal. I have another scan tomorrow. I hope you get your pick up date and also ask how many follies there are.
Jade
Hi Allie
Good Luck with your first cycle. I hope it all goes well for you. I have to admit that my first cycle (which I started in June 06) was much better than I expected. While I have the occassional day/s of feeling yuck it was not that bad. Keeping in mind I was expecting to be a snivelling psycho chicken, who gorged on choccies and plotted my DH's demise, heh heh heh.
Jade, I was on 225 Gonal and went through a stage of having really sore BB for a few days straight, they felt like they were burning, weird huh! Good luck with your scan
Sar
Hi Allie and welcome.. I wish you all the best for the upcoming IVF cycle and hopefully you won't have to hang around to long on this part of the forum... Oh i just noticed you have been trying for as long as my DH and I january 2004... be nice if we could bb together.. keep us updated... love and hugs leis xx
Hi Allie welcome to this forum, we all understand how scary and daunting IVF can be, but rest assured there are so many ladies here that can help try to relieve some of your anxiety and answer any questions you may have.
Jade I did read in my manual that sore breasts can be a side effect. Lets hope that I have a better sleep tonight.
I so hope that my follies are growing nicely so that I can have both my pickup and transfer this week.
Wishing everyone a good week and I will talk again soon.
Linda
Hi Girls
Well I have good news!!!!!!!! My eggpick is on Wednesday and follies I have 1 x 21mm, 3 x 14mm on my right ovary. 1 x 19mm, 2 x 17mm, 3 x 14mm, 3 x 12mm on my left ovary. I have to have my trigger at 8.30pm tonight. So lets hope they grow some more between now and Wednesday and I get some more eggies  . I will let you know how Wednesday goes.
Linda - How did your U/S go?
Sari & Linda - I am glad that sore boobs are a side effect cos I was getting a little worried. I had to run today and hold my boobs cos they hurt :)
:hello: to everyone else
Jade
Hi everyone,
Jade that is fantastic. I will be thinking of you over the next few days. I have my ultrasound tomorrow at 10 and I really hope that they will say that I can have my trigger shot tomorrow night. I hate waiting. Have you been having any other side effects? I have been feeling ok so I hope that the follicles are getting larger.
I am very excited for you and I am praying that everything goes well.
Linda
Linda - I guess the only other side effect is the last couple of days when DH has been giving me my injections it has really really hurt we have been trying to do it in different spots and also a little emotional when I left this morning but I think I was like that because I thought I would have to go in for another U/S and blood test.
Good luck with your U/S tomorrow.
Jade
good luck you girls....fingers crossed for both of you...hope you both have fantastic eggies and that you'll be announcing BFP's in a few weeks.
Thank you all for the warm welcome to this thread. It is lovely to see the level of support here. :)
I am meeting the nurses at my clinic for the first time soon, and I hope I'll get my head around exactly what is required of me with the various medications over the next few weeks.
Special thoughts for Jade and Linda :crossfingers: - wishing you both the very best for the EPU! :goodluck:
Goodluck Jade for your pickup today. You had a good amount of eggs for them to choose from so lets hope that the 2 week wait is nice and short for you. I will be thinking of you today.
I had an ultrsound yesterday and they found 3 good size follicles on my right ovary with the possibility of 2 more, on my left overy they found 5 and a few small ones. I was hoping for more but I guess that is ok. I have to call them today to find out if I have to take my trigger shot tonight or tomorrow night. I hope it is tonight.
Allie I hope all goes well with the nurses appointment. Once you are in the programe it all moves along fairly quickly. Will you be doing the down regulated cycle?
Hi to everyone else.
Linda
Hi girls....i need to ask a question, so i hope someone can shed some light on my little situation for me. I have asked it in a few other threads, so i've just copied it over....
On Monday i had sharp shooting pains through my right bb, and yesterday it was in my left (but a bit duller) and by last night they just felt strange. Today, they are both hurting. Usually when i get AF my nipples are really sore for a day or two, but this pain seems to right inside my bb's and my nipplea aren't too bad. Normally you don't even remember that you have breasts. Now i know that they are there from the way they feel.........any ideas anyone?????
Well I had my EPU today and they got 11 eggs. that all fertlise overnight. Looking at transferring on Monday if all goes well.
Linda - I hope you get to take your trigger tonight and good luck with your EPU.
Shan - I haven't had the kind of pain you are refering too but I hope it is a good sign for you. Are you due to test soon??
:hello: to everyone else
Jade
Hi Jade. Congratulations on getting a great number of follies. Fingers crossed they all do as they are suposed to.
As for me, i did a HPT this arvo and it came back BFN, so i'm either not pg, or it was too early to test. Just not sure when I O'd, so it's hard to tell. I'll give it a week or so and if no change then i'll go get a bt...
Shan I hope that it is just too early to tell. I have my fingers crossed.
Jade that is great about the amount of follies. They have told me that I can take my trigger tomorrow. I then go in for my pickup on Saturday and back in on Monday for my transfer I think. I find it stange that the amount of days between PU and transfer are so different between clinics. Did they give you a choice between 5 and 2? Was the proceedure uncomfortable? Goodluck with everything?
Linda
Thanks Linda. I have everything crossed for you too. Just think, this time next week you'll have a little clump of cells in your tum that will grow into a healthy bubba for you....best of luck with the transfer...
Linda - I was in pain before the procedure but you are asleep when they do it. Still a little bit sore today but not too bad. My specialist has requested a day 5 transfer as apparently the success rates are better. My clinic does day 3 & day 5 transfer. I guess it also depends on your fertility history. Why don't you give them a call just to put your mind at ease.
Shan - that you tested too early.
I will check in later when I know how many embies have fertlised.
Jade
Thanks Jade...i hope so too...
Hi Girls
Well 7 of our embies have fertilised....YAY!!!! when my nurse told me I had tears. If the embies aren't going so well on Saturday then they will call me and I will have a day 3 transfer. But if they are going really well we will wait until Monday when they should be at blatocyst stage. So the waiting is already beginning. DH has been really good he said to me last night I wonder how my boys are going and I said I hope they are hooking up with my eggs. I also said I made a cricket team yesterday and he said I made a whole new country.....LOL
Jade
Thats fantastic news Jade....fingers crossed for your little cricket team hey!!!
Oh Jade that is fantatsic news. Go little embies !!!! Your DH sounds so sweet.
Shan good luck with the wait, here's hoping to you just testing too early !
Take care a wishes to all
Thanks Sari..i hope so too!!!
Jade, that is wonderful news on your seven special ones - Grow little ones GROW! Fingers crossed for some great grade blasts !
That is great Jade. I hope everything else goes as smoothly as it has been. I will be thinking of you.
I am still waiting for a call to tell me when I will have my trigger shot tonight. Getting a bit nervous.
I had a second good friend of mine tell me they are pregnant within days of each other. As much as I am happy for them I found it a bit difficult and nearly wished they had waited a bit to tell me. Am I being unfair?
Linda
Hi Girls
My boobs are killing me when I walk they hurt. I thought maybe after the EPU they soreness would subside. Anyone else have this or had that????????????
Thanks Shari
Keen - Thanks matey..............how r u going??????? Long time no talk
Linda - I don't think it is unfair. I had one of my best friends announce her pregnancy but I was happy for her cos she has been trying as long as we'd have and she understands. But friends who fall pregnant quickly and easily don't have a understanding of what a emotional rollercoaster long term TTC is. I do get a bit upset but of course still happy for them when friends tell me they are pregnant. Try not to let it get you down :) you have heaps of great people on BB to share the ups & downs and I guess I have found talking to people that are in the same situation makes it much easier to cope cos you are not the only one......geee I have rambled on sorry about that.
Jade :)
I guess I was a bit upset because my husband couldn't understand why I was feeling the way I was. I am trying so hard to be strong and positive and I don't want to feel jealous. It just hurts to hear there good news especially when they hardly had to try.
Sorry about that, I just want all this to be over with success as the result.
Linda
Linda - seriously it is totally normal, understandable and expected that you would feel that way when told of a friend's pregnancy. Doesnt make you a bad person. Doesnt mean you dont wish her all the best - you just also wish you could be celebrating along with her. Its such a bittersweet time when a friend/co-worker announces they are expecting and again when they give birth....
Fingers crossed this cycle does the trick and you are announcing your bfp soon.... (you too Jade!)
Jade - Im well. Taking things easy right now. Back at work which is a good distraction... sometimes.... although the 7 women that are pg in my office is making it difficult at times... but I do my best to avoid those bellies and any belly related discussion ;). We are still hoping for our miracle, but trying to be realistic and also not get our lives too caught up in it for a little while - it has been the main focus of our lives for so long now and we need to focus on other things for a bit. Cant wait to see your bfp after this cycle!
Morning Girls
Well we still have 7 embies and they are all at 4 cells :) so 95% I will be having my ET on Monday. I will know for sure tomorrow.
Linda - How are you going?
How is everyone else going?
Jade
Hi everyone,
Well I am better today. I was a bit emotional yesterday and I guess I was frustrated that my husband thought I shouldn't be upset. last night I took the trigger needle which was fine. DH and I were a bit disagreeable with each other. Well when he went to administer the needle he firstly started by trying to get the air bubble out of the needle and in the mean time spilt a few drops which got me even more frustrated. I hope all is alright with the slightly less dose. Oh well what can we do now. DH and I are ok tonight after sleeping on it.
Tomorrow morning is my PU. Excited and nervous. Thankfully it is at 9 so we don't need to stress to long. I am thinking of having a massage on Sunday to relax for Monday.
Great to Hear that your follies are doing so well Jade. We will be in doing our transfer on the same day. Hopefully we will both have wonderful news at the end. I read about the 2 day transfer and some clinics prefer it due to the decline of follies surviving till day 5. It is so hard putting all of your trust in your dr's decision. All you can do is trust their expertise. I did read that once they reach 5 day transfer they do have a better chance of staying pregnant but what they are trying to say is sometimes the risks of waiting till they reach blast is better to go for the 2. ?????
Keen thankyou for your kind words. I really hope that now that you have taken your mind off falling pregnant that your little miracle happens.
I will let you kow tomorrow how everything goes.
Linda
Linda - I would be pretty sure that a few drops short of the dose will still be ok. I think the massage may be a very nice idea... although I would suggest checking with your doc first.
Jade - great news about your thriving little eggies!
