hi girls didn't have time to read all blogs but sending some good vibes your way. xx
Hi all,
First some quick Persies;
TL- Thanks for the info.
MrsP- I think your friend is so good to be understanding. That takes a lot of pressure off.
MissK- I think I need a copy of that book
Spring- I don't think sleeping on your tummy is bad in the 1st Trimester.
Misty- Doc put me on provera as well. Maybe that's why AF came only one day late. ;) That blastie transfer sounds exciting, GL with your TWW
esperan- Well done on the EPU- rest up and take care of yourself.
B2B- Thanks, I did have that app. I'll just blame the syneral for sending me even more loopy.
Juniper- GL with you EPU tomorrow.
Cass- hi, good to see things are on the move.
AFM- well AF arrived on Monday, so only one day late in the end. I had 1st BT today. all good. I got the go ahead to start injecting purgeon(sp?) tomorrow night. I have mixed emotions about it all but am taking one day at a time. :crossfingers:
Hi ladies,
I've had a very long two days so no personals today. I couldn't wait for my BT today so I did a POAS on Tues night. The result was negative. I did the test again in the morning, again negative. DH was a sweety and took me out to dinner last night to take my mind off it. Today I dutifully took the BT and guess what... negative. And so we sit and wait until we are ready to try again.
Girls, I am at a loss to find out what I should and shouldn't be doing, eating, drinking (fluids) etc, during the TWW. Next time I want to know I am doing everything in my power to ensure a positive result but I can't find this kind of information anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Sorry for the somber post. I hope everyone is doing well.
Spring - so sorry about you BFN - its hard isnt it.
Keep yourself busy and occupied and then when the timing is right it will happen x. Sorry I cant help yet with your question as Im only just staring on this road. But I feel for you and am thinking of you.
Take care
Hey everyone
Hope this is the right place for me to join...
I'm on my third cycle of IUI - currently on the TWW from the last one...
Hi everyone. :)
Spring, sorry to hear the test was negative. Do you have a plan in mind for your next attempt? There is a list of suggestions floating around another IF website I visit. If I can find it I'll post it.
Sandygirl, GL with the puregon.
Esperan, sorry to hear you have to wait for your transfer, but those sound like great results! I'm sure the FET will be here before you know it!
Afm, I'm back from EPU and we got 5 eggs this time, 1 less than my usual. Could have been worse, but I guess I was hoping for better. Now the long wait until tomorrow to find out how they went...
Hi all!
Juniper, no worries about quantity... quality is what it counts... I remember on my 1st cycle I got 13 eggs and another lady on the same day had 5 eggs. My cycle was cancelled because i didn't get any fertilized. She got pregnant... So no worries... you will be fine! have lots of rest!
Spring, So sorry to hear about your result :comfort: If I knew a bit more about TWW I would love to help you with some info. But I haven't gone through this road yet... I know it's hard but try to think positive for the next round... take some time off if you don't feel like it straight away... I'm sending a lot of good vibes for you!
Babytruj, GL on tour TWW :D
Loops, July is just around the corner!! you might be getting excited!!
Sandygirl, GL with puregon tonight.
Cssl80, GL with IVF cycle
Baby2bee, how was your scan today? :crossfingers:
Misty77, How is the TWW journey going for you? Hope you are feeling well.
Mrs P, you had EPU today? How are you feeling? Heaps of rest!
Miss K, thanks for telling us about that book!
Mrs Zeg, your cycle is not too far now...
Me: feeling fine, still bloated and drinking A LOT of liquids... Nurse still call me everyday to check how I'm doing... I stopped reading about OHSS on internet because I was getting :o parannoyed... Hopefully I will not get sick...
Hi girls
Just a quick pop in to say I survived my first EPU this morning. We got 5 eggs - same as you juniper76! While I would have loved more, I'm concentrating on quality not quantity - well, that's what I'm telling myself anyway to make me feel better. Plus we're just so pleased to have gotten any eggs at all.
Now waiting for the call tomorrow and praying at least 3 will have fertilised... fingers crossed  DH will be working tomorrow so my bestie is coming over to kill time with me and be there for the phone call - she's such a sweetie.
Hope everyone is well - will catch up on personals tomorrow!
MrsP, LOL, you didn't need to copy me! I hope you get good news when the phone rings. I just called and was told we had 3 fertilise.
Ooh this is freaky - congrats juniper76 - and we got THREE fertilized as well!! Ha ha. :D
Now let's hope we both get three great blasties on Day 5 (are you doing Day 5 as well?) so there will be something to freeze too
esperan - hope you're doing well and keeping OHSS away. Well done on getting so many frosties.
B2B - how was your scan yesterday? Hope things are going well for you.
spring - sorry hun - sending big hugs and wishing you luck for your next cycle. I have no 2ww advice either as I'm yet to reach that point myself
Hi girls
Just popping in to spread some :pink-babydust::bluedust::pink-babydust::bluedust:
MrsP, we're doing a 3dt on Monday. In the past we've done 2dt but the weekend prevented that this time... Good work on the 3 embies!!
*edit*
Damn, I keep typing the captcha text in the title box instead of the box it's meant to be in... :wall:
same here to just popping in to wish you all the very best and i hope to hear some bfp very soon.
YOU CAN DO IT GIRLS ..;)
Today's update - 1 x 8 cell, 1 x 6 cell and 1 x 4 cell (but a "fantastic looking 4 cell that should catch up today") - so we've still got 3 embies in the running for transfer on Wednesday.
I'm still having sporadic pains post EPU, plus need to pee in the middle of the night and the intense PAIN in my ovaries wakes me up - ick. Apart from that, I'm just super excited. Which is kind of bad in a way because I don't want to get too hopeful and set myself up for a fall, but at the same time am still trying to be positive. Aaah the challenges of IVF.
Juniper76 - how did your ET go today? Did you put back one or two?
hello everyone...wishing you all the very best with your cycles- good to see some of you with good results so far
I haven't been chatting in here much...our cycle was recently cancelled as I failed to respond to synarel...now it's been discovered I have an ovarian cyst which is keep my oestrogen levels high...so we have to wait until that goes before starting another cycle..I am on the pill though in readiness...with another scan in a few weeks to check- here's hoping I can then start on lucrin (instead of synarel this time)
I hope there are some BFPs for us all very soon
Possums, good luck with the Lucrin. Sorry to hear about the cyst. I hope it clears up quickly.
MrsP, sounds like some great embies! I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday.
All 3 embies were 4 cell today (if I read the sheet right over the scientist's shoulder). We transferred 2 and froze the third. That's one more snowbaby than last time, so can't complain...
I've been a bit accident-prone over the last couple of days. The highlight was slipping and falling in some spilt water yesterday. My first thought was of the embies, then I realised they were still at the lab! Anyway, so I spent this afternoon just lying on the lounge watching tv. Figured I couldn't do any further damage to myself that way!
Hi All. I went down south for a couple of days break (long weekend here in WA) and I've been having great news since my scan on Friday. Friday's scan showed lots of follies and hormone levels were perfect. Had another scan today, 10+ good sized eggs in each ovary and I'm in for my first EPU on Wednesday!!!! yeeeeehhhhaaaaaaaaa!!! Of course there is still alot of hurdles to get over but at last i've had some good news with regard to my hormones and thyroid (it's underactive but has finally normalised)....if all goes well then my transfer date will be Monday 8 June...MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! here's hoping i get a fabulous 32nd birthday present!!!!
Sorry for the lack of personals but I'm back at work tomorrow so I'll have plenty of time to see how you all are then!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!
So.. I am CD 22 (my cycle is only usually 24 days) and just had my scan (10 follies!)
I will start Puregon on CD3 of this month to prime me for IVF/ICSI
I basically want to know what happens?
Is a 24day cycle short?
I will be on puregon, lucerin (I think) and pregnyl trigger. What do these drugs do and how does everyone cope with injecting. Will I feel like crap?
I am so excited, but trying not to get my hopes up too far - its only our 1st try and well I am hoping it works 1st go like most!
Hi Kristy. I'm about to have my EPU tomorrow. Ive been on the drugs for 3 previous cycles of IUI and felt pretty average (very emotional, headaches) however on this cycle (my first IVF), i've been on a much stronger dose of the drugs (same as yours) and have felt really good however quite forgetful........Of course in saying that, everyone is different and I'm sure you will hear from a lot of the girls saying other things. I'm also feeling a lot more positive (however not getting my hopes up) about this procedure so this probably helps! GOOD LUCK with your cycle and keep us up to date. Stay positive!!
just sending some goodluck vibes to all you lttc.
chat soon x
Just wondering if anyone in here has any idea why I might be spotting on puregon?? I started injecting on Friday. I am on Day 8 of cycle with AF leaving on Saturday :wall: Any idea? Of course because of the spotting I am an emotional mess.
B2B - good luck for EPU tomorrow. You must be feeling super-bloated - I know how bad I was with only 6 eggs! Which clinic are you at BTW? I'm with FSWA.
Sandygirl - no ideas, sorry hun. Maybe ask your nurses on your next call?
Krikkit - I was on 100 units of Puregon for 5 days then 200 units for 5 days. I was generally a bit crabby, very easily irritated etc. It's a good idea to remind your partner that this could happen and that you will need extra support and consideration during this time. But of course everyone reacts differently. I haven't had lucerin (orgalutron instead).
Juniper76 - congrats, glad you got a snowbub as well as two to transfer! Now, go sit down and rest ;)
AFM - waiting with baited breath until my transfer tomorrow. No embie update today so I just have to hope that there's at least one blastie tomorrow for me!!
Mrs P I'm at Hollywood.....under Simon Turner. I'm really happy with him! Best of luck with your transfer tomorrow. I'll have everything crossed for you and I......a big milestone for both of us!
Kristy, the main drug I've had s/e from is synarel (alternative to lucrin). My first IVF cycle the synarel s/e hit me like a ton of bricks, to the point that I reduced my hours at work. But the 2nd and 3rd cycles were fine. I haven't tried lucrin, but the main s/e I've heard of from that is headaches. I've never had any s/e with puregon (this was my 6th cycle using it). The pregnyl trigger can give you some early pg symptoms. This is the first time I've used pregnyl for the trigger and the main thing I had was an aching lower back.
As for what the drugs do, the lucrin stops your body producing it's normal hormones. The puregon then replaces one of those hormones and stimulates the ovaries to produce follicles/eggs. The pregnyl trigger then causes you to ovulate and release the eggs. The trigger is timed so you are ready to ovulate just when you go into the EPU.
I've never done the lucrin injections, so I can't comment on those, but the puregon injections are a piece of cake. I'm a total needle-phobe and I have done all of my puregon injections myself. I take my time so I don't panic and do everything methodically. Others find it easier to get it over and done quickly. You just need to find what works for you.
I have more of a challenge with the pregnyl because my doctor wants it done IM (intramuscularly - ie in the buttock). DH has to do those for me. I think most people do the pregnyl in the belly though.
Baby2Bee, GL with your EPU today!
MrsP, GL with the transfer!
Sandy, I haven't had that. I'll be interested to hear what your Dr says if you ask?
Hi girls,
firstly some brief persies:
Spring- So sorry about the BFN
Welcome Babytruj
esperan- How are you going?
Mrs P--:bluedust: I hope the eggies are doing well. GL with ET
Juniper- :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy: :pray:
Possums- I'm so sorry you are back to waiting again. Hopefully these 2 weeks fly by.
B2B- Wonderful news! GL!
Welcome Krikket- I'm going through my first IVF cycle. You are in the right spot. GL with spraying and injecting. My moods have been all over the place, but really it is not that bad, so far :)
AFM- I still have had some spotting but am not as worried as before. It is very light. I had a BT this morning and got my results back this afternoon. My levels are increasing (384 I think she said) and the FS said (via the nurse) that as my hormone increases the spotting should stop. I have another BT & U/S on Friday to see how things are going.
Thanks for the babydust girls!
One embie on board and one in the freezer. Transfer was actually a bit unpleasant/uncomfortable but totally worth it!
Now the 2ww begins....
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all well and coping with all the injections and prodding and waiting.
Been awol for a couple of weeks as I haven't really had anything to report.
We have managed to speed up the process a bit and I am booked in for a Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on Friday. I am feeling a little bit nervous... I have never had an anaesthetic so I have no idea how it will effect me. At the same time I am really happy we managed to get the ball rolling a bit quicker. I have an ovarian cyst which is causing me a bit of discomfort and I am hoping we will have a few more answers at the other end.
Good luck to everyone with their treatment, particularly to those who have an embie on board. I hope the wait isn?t too painful.... lots and lots of :bluedust: and :stickyvibesgirl: coming your way.
Hey girls just a quick me post I am soo flat out at work today will go on tonight for personals!!
I had my first FS appointment since the drilling and guess what she thinks I have already ovulated I had a blood test this morning and get the results at 2.30 today so I am hoping and praying this means a BFP for us if not we will go on the clomid again this cycle and go from there! This is soo exciting and a positive outcome finally! She also gave me pictures from the day of the surgery and my ovaries where the same size as my uterus and then she has a pick of what she did and the "deflated shaped" ovaries now it was amazing!
Love you all girls and I promise I will be back for personals sorry about the ME post!
MrsP, you've got to stop copying me! My transfer this time was really unpleasant too. I knew I was in trouble when he said "I'm just going to use this instrument to hold your cervix". :o Reminded me of my HSG...
Mitf, GL with your anaesthetic. I had my first ever when we did IVF#1 in Nov last year and I was absolutely terrified of how I might react to it. In the end it was a walk in the park. I was so relieved when I woke up that I burst into tears. I hope yours is similarly easy.
Hi ladies,
Wow, this is a busy thread now! We're taking a break for the next month after a BFN from our first transfer IVF cycle. But we have 5 in the freezer, so looking good. Keeping positive anyway.
I have to say, after having agreed to a month off with DH, that as day 10 (when I would usually have my first ultrsound to check lining etc) comes around I'm itching to get back into it, but have "let myself go" after the bad news a couple of weeks ago, so have to kick the ciggies (again ) and get back into the healthy eating before we go with an FET. So I'll be back in here as of the end of the month I suspect :) Will be lurking until then!
Good luck to all,
Meo.
Mrs P & Juniper (the twins)- :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy: to you both. I hope that your 2WW is not too draining.
mift- GL with the anaesthetic. It really scares me too. Don't worry, it will be over before you know. The worst side effect I've had is nausea. Doesn't last too long though.
MissK- That's sounds very promising! Have you got your results yet??
AFM- No spotting today:dance:. BT and U/S tomorrow :)
Sorry girls, Have been very busy lately... I've been helping to organize my God Daughter's Christening ...
Sounds that we have some good news here! Good luck for the new TWW girls!!!
Today I had an app. with FS and we planned our FET. I'm on Synarel at the moment, waiting for AF to start the estrogen pills. FS will just book transfer once the uterus lining is looking good, if everything goes as planned it will be by end of June!!
I can not believe we are almost there! :hooray:
:bluedust::pink-babydust:
WOW so many in here to chat to.
B2B - well done on your eggies. GL with the transfer - hope you get a great b'day present soon!
Krikkit - GL with your 1st IVF, mine is coming up soon too. I hope it works out 1st try for us both.
I was on Puregon and Pregnyl with IUI and didnt really have any hassles with them - found them fairly easy to inject etc, only thing was they gave pg symptoms which was a bit annoying.
Mrs P - GL in TWW, will have :crossfingers: for you that you get BFP. I hope the wait doesnt stress you out too much.
Miss K - very exciting. GL and all the best!
Sandygirl - GL today, hope all works out and you get a BFP very soon!
Juniper - GL in TWW, hope you don't go nuts. All the best for a great result!
Mitf - GL with your Lap and Hyst. I didnt find them too bad, a bit of back pain after waking up but that went after about 8 hours. The anaesthetic freaked me out a little but it wasnt too bad.
Meo - Sorry again about your BFN. Take it easy and have some time out and we'll chat again soon.
Esperan - all the best for your BFP to come very soon.
Sorry If ive missed anyone.
AFM - Just waiting for IVF #1 towards end of July. Taking the pill at the moment which seems very strange to me. Have the counselling appointment on 11th June.
Waiting, waiting, waiting and getting nervous and excited!
;) to many girls in here now to keep up with soooooooooo a big hello to you all and good luck xxoo
Hi Smithy
Thank you x
Good luck to you with up coming IVF
:hello:
Okay, so I'm a late-comer to this thread.
DH and I are about to go through our fourth ET. Have 12 frosties, which is fantastic, but I'm a bit worried that I've had a few chemical pregnancies that are yet undiagnosed. We've always been treated for male infertility, so it concerns me that no one has been particularly interested in my fertility. Having said that, I don't have any history, come from a big family, am healthy and young...should probably focus on the positives rather than on the endless possible negatives!
Had my first scan on Friday, which was Day 10. Next scan will be next Wednesday, Day 15. I don't expect to get the surge until Wednesday or Thursday, which means ET will be next weekend some time.
I'm doing acupuncture which is lovely, and am being extra-good with my supplements and eating. I've also cut out a lot of caffeine in the last week, which I'm really proud of. Have replaced tea with chamomile, and coffee with decaf. I'm trying to think positive and keep having spontaneous visions of myself holding a baby (does anyone else find themselves doing this?). But of course I am soooo scared of it not working, or ending in early m/c, like last time.
Anyway, I have an essay to write, and have got the sniffles today :cold: ...wondering whether it's Piggy Flu, as I live in the heart of the flu suburbs in Melbourne...Should go get some rest.
Hello to everyone, and best of luck this month.
Hi Girls,
Well I'm off the TWW thread with a BFN. Anyhoo, I have bounced back pretty well, considering one friend just gave birth to a little boy (1st IVF), and another is starting to show (1st IVF)!!! So AF reared her ugly head 2 days after BT, and it was strange because I usually go for about 5 days. This time it was SUPER heavy but only lasted for 3 ???? Maybe my endo was no good . Well, because I have no frosties its a full stim cycle, EPU 7th August, begin pill Sunday. I think I'm cycling with Lionfish again. I must say though, tonites bottle of wine was FANTASTIC!!
Mell............
Hi Ladies,
Well the Lap & Hyst went well on Friday. The aesthetic wasn't too bad, quiet a surreal experience. It felt like seconds between closing my eyes in the theatre and then waking up in the hospital bed. It turned out that I had been out of theatre for about an hour! I am recovering quiet quickly, actually doing a lot better than I had expected. I have some bruising and discomfort but that should clear up quickly. DH has been fantastic, dotting on my every need......he even cleaned the floors!!
mellmell - sorry to hear about your BFN. It seems it is the time for babies. My husband and i just had 3 friends have 4 girls born in 4 days (1 set of twins). I hope you dreams come true soon and have better luck with your BFP this time.
Mrs P and Juniper - GL with the TWW. I hope you are managing to keep your mind busy!
Sandygirl - I hope your BT& ultrasound went well.
Persephone1 - I hope you are felling better soon, particularly before and your ET.
I haven't really had time to catch up on everyone else's movements, but wishing all the best at your various points in treatment.
Okay, so the procastination is getting out of hand. I have, however, completed 31% of my essay (yes, I used a calculator to work that out).
A question just occurred to me and I thought I'd see what others thought.
I've had three ETs now, the first was a freshie following a stim cycle, so included luteal phase support.
The second ET was a bit odd, and I started bleeding four days after ET and was put on pessaries just in case it was a prog problem. My prog later checked out okay, so we'll never know why I started bleeding.
The third ET, my prog checked out okay and I didn't have any luteal phase support at all. This was the cycle that we got a high reading BFN.
My SIL, who believes she is an IVF guru, tells me that I'm a 'brave woman for having a natural FET with no support.' Is this true? Does everyone else have luteal phase support after a FET?
I'm doing all the natural stuff (acupuncture, supplements, etc) but wanted to know if medication following a FET is normal for others. ???
Hi girls
Wouldloveabubba - thanks for the invite to join you girls......i will have to read up and get to know you all. Please feel free girls to tell me your story (in brief) which will help me to get to know you.....otherwise i have alot of reading to do.
AFM, well i have had 2 unsuccessful iui's and tomorrow (tuesday) i have my first appointment for ivf. don't know what to expect yet. I'm on AF day 3 day 4 tomorrow and some girls are telling me i will have to wait until next month to start my cycle...i'm already bummed out about that. Let you all know after my appointment with FS.
