You go get him, blackduckies! he won't know what's hit him with the qu's!!! LOL. The questions are a great idea - I think I'm going to get a list going before my down-reg scan with FS next Tuesday. Very best of luck today - are you with Monash or MIVF?
Wow! There is so much happening here. It has only been a few days since my last post, but it has just taken me 20mins to quickly skim all the news.
Congrats to Missy & Dusty. Here's hoping everything goes to plan for you both.
BW - I hope that your families understand your situation for xmas, all the girls have certainly given some very good advice. Luckily, both of our families know when enough questions are enough, however my Mum can get a bit pushy. When that happens, I don't call her & just wait for her to settle & call me! Bit immature maybe, but it seems to work.
TL - I'm on the Sunshine Coast, so not too far from brissie.
Newbies - Hello!
I will try to make a more detailed response later when I can concentrate better on everyone's situation.
xo
Hi girls/guys, just a quick visit and will be back later tonight. IUI went well, just taking it easy - I could have gone back to work but might as well take a whole day off I reckon! The doc who did the IUI was great, he'd checked my file before hand and reckons he's seeing a trend in my cycle so is adding pesseries to my regime for the first time, hope this cracks it :crossfingers:
BG, hope your FS appt goes well today !
Best wishes to everyone !
Hi everyone I hope all is well with where everyone is at I have been flat out back at work I am an Aunty today to a new nephew not to many details from my sister yet
deni, way to go girl. hey i just realised you are the prom date gal. i loved that post last time you did IUI!
congrats aunty TL! how exciting.
kell (BB) well done hun, you sound better today.
mon and peta, great to see you gals! mon, i sure it was tough up north.... ;) glad you are starting hun. i look fwd to being with you on your journey.
BG, sounds like you are all on now hun
hello everyone :hello:
i had EPU this morning and have been tired and a bit sore most of the day. they got 6 eggs which was a 50% increase on our best result to date. unfortunately it looks like all the eggs are pretty poor quality and the embryologist wasn't hopeful. but i am still not giving up hope that DH's boys will be super fantastic and give us at least one embie to transfer :)
Oh Dusty i hope they surprise you, go little embies! Will be hoping for the best for you.
hi all
quick update - seen FS today and got the go ahead, so we're all go for IVF, with stims starting next week! i'm soooo happy and relieved
Pam - hope you got answers to your questions hun - i know FS is a charmer, but if you grill him hard enough, he'll fold and answer - he greeted me with "hi, how's my problem child today?" don't be surprised if i try to scope out some of your answers from him - i didn't have a lot of questions today (asked most of them yesterday at counselling) but if any arise, i'll harrass you a little!
meet with the ivf nurse on monday - how exciting!
Dusty, just do your best to wait for the final outcome (ie. the end of the TWW). I really get the impression that for all their genuine knowledge and training, sometimes the experts in fertility use a bit of guesswork based upon the visuals and sometimes the end result belies their initial conservatism. Well done for getting this far, and GL.
BG, great news. I know you'll be super pleased to get this ball rolling now, rather than next year. Great stuff.
Deni, well done to you too for the IUI today. All the best for the coming fortnight.
TL, congrats on becoming an auntie. Try and get some training in for the real thing!
Speaking of the real thing, a girl at work brought her baby in yesterday and hung around for hours doing god knows what (she was on leave) and the little one just sooked and cried the whole time. Made me wonder momentarily what I was getting myself in for. I guess it's different when they're yours, but I know I could've done without hours of howling whilst trying to work.
Hi Everyone :D
Dusty - 6 eggs... :dance:YAY!!!
Don't you worry about what the embryologist said... Everyone was telling you not to expect much from this one, and you got 6 this time, 50% better than the best one before that!!!
You should be really happy with that, and don't let them get you down ;)
I agree with Slyder... and you know what, it only takes one - Have a re read through Arielles journal for a bit of inspiration - Her little one is now growing inside of her everyday :)
I am so thrilled for you, sweetie, I think its fantastic news xxx
Will pop back in later for more personals!
ETA :dance:YAY BG!!!
Holly is right, Arielle's story is a ripper.
Hi everyone,
miss c, with Monash and Mac Talbot. I told him before I went in I had 1.5 pages and he said Sue the nurse "had told him I was coming" GREAT!!!Surely loads of people stress and ask lots of ???? I have decided not to take it to heart. Good luck with your appointment next week ask those????
Deni, have a good TWW, hope the pessaries make the difference.
Dusty, I have heard lots of stories of the one that was'nt supposed to make it resulting in the BFP. I have my fingers tightly crossed for you. Look forward to hearing good news tomorrow.
BG, yes he was very patient and answered them all. Sounded great, I just hope it is not just positive talk, I really think he can get me over the line because he seems to really believe it!!!! Does'nt look like he is doing the EPU, a trainee most likely ( I just hope he is good!!)EPU is not until Dec, just when you think it is all happening, it gets dragged out another week. Damn!!!The never ending cycle.
Missy, how are you feeling? Only 11 days to go.
Catch you all tomorrow.
december? hmmm....
tww takes us to dangerous christmas territory emotionally - but hey, it's worth the effort!
mac seems very confident in the process - and that gives me confidence in it too. i don't have an issue with a trainee doing epu - someone has to do it!
Blackduckies, glad you got those questions answered by your FS ! Just ignore the earlier comment from him, he was probably trying to make a joke and not having a clue how it may have felt to you. Hope the christmas fairy sprinkles some magic on you around your EPU time!
Dusty - YAY to 6 eggs! :confetti: Thinking positive thoughts - I've learnt from Bellybelly that so many girls and guys here prove the doctors wrong, and achieve remarkable things when the doc's in their well-meaningness try to prepare us for the worst. :goodluck: :goodluck: :goodluck:
BG - how exciting to have the go ahead for next cycle !!
Slyder- that sounds pretty annoying about the howling baby being around work for hours!. It's nice to see collegues babies but I reckon short visits are the trick. At least she didn't add an over-ripe nappy to the equation - eeew..
Babybliss - really hope it goes well tomorrow for your follies
I'm trying to focus on positive images of my Princess meeting her Suitors. I think she was WAY too fussy at the last prom. Not that she doesn't deserve the best. But embryologist assured me that the Suitors were looking pretty handsome (well she didn't say that, this is my own fantasy world). Unforutnately their limo driver (DH) couldnt stick around for the Big Entrance (cue romantic music) as he had a work engagement... Tonight more mood music (pessaries) will hopefully encourage some romance. Unfortunately, they're bound to be pretty icky sticky for Mum. yuk... but a very small price to pay for potential success!
Confession time girls and guys... I took my fertility doll with me !!!! Given to us by a work friend.. She's only little, about 5 cm long. I didn't take her out in front of the doctor, she stayed in my handbag, but when the nurse wasn't looking I gave her a swift rub on the tummy. The things we do.
Weekend is almost here....
Hi everyone... sorry I have been so slack the last week. I came in and posted and disappeared - how rude! My FIL passed away on Friday evening so we have been a bit all over the place and I havent really been around. Alot goes on in this thread, cant miss a day! Will have to make sure I am on the ball in future.
Sorry to those who have received a BFN
Good luck to those who are in TWW :crossfingers:
Babybliss - Hope you can go ahead with your transfer, and are not too uncomfortable afterwards.
Take care all,
Mel :)
Sorry to hear about your FIL. Hope your DH is OK.
Thanks Slyder, he is doing ok. His father was only 56 so I think he is in a little bit of shock at the moment, even though he was sick, and it hasnt quite sunk in iykwim. I am sure he will be ok, we have stuff to keep us occupied I guess.
Hi all. Just wanted to pop in and say all is going well with me for those ladies that asked.
Just wanted to say YAY DW on your 6 eggs hun. Im sure all will be ok and lets hope your in the tww with me soon.
Im sorry not doing more personals but have a full house with Mels friends.
Take care all
xxx
Mel, So sorry to hear about your FIL - I hope your DH is doing ok... and we would never think you're rude for popping in and then not being around! :)
We're always here... whenever you need us ;)
Dusty - Best of luck and noone really knows what the universe will bring
BG - Best of luck good to see you have the go ahead.
Ben William is my new newphew I love being an aunty and now I can spoil both my nephew. My sister has a good IVF story 1 egg pick up 6 eggs and 2 children. It can and does happen which leave hope for us all!
I think it is time to sprinkle some :bluedust: for all :)
Sorry Mel and DH, it would be a shock it is so young even if you hve been sick you just expect people to pull through. Good luck and take care of each other and extended family.
Deni, Oh!!!! look forward to more little stories, you are a funny girl. Try anything, I say. I have a fertility symbol above the bed, which does'nt seem to be working!!lol. I took it down, gave it a shake, turmed it around the other day, so all should be good now.Fingers crossedxxxxx
Hollybolly;HI!!!!
Tiggerlinda, congrats on your nephew. Ben is a cute name. Gee your sister was very lucky, there is a similar story in IVF friends currently.
Slyder, not soooo.. bad when they are your own, but still not good!!!!!! Never good when you don't know why????
BG, my head hurts and really needs this show on the road. The stress, the wait and I've only just started.
Missy, keep plodding along, has anyone joined you yet???
Oh!! Some of my message has been chopped off, Hi to Holly and congrats to Tiggerlinda.
Morning all
Awww do you mean in the TWW Duckies. hmmmm no not really. Very quiet in there. Ive got a busy day today so will have to get ready.
Hope your doing ok Duckies.
DW hun. Good luck with the fert for today. I had a chat to the big man hun. xx MSN me when you know please hun.
Dusty - Sending lots and positive thoughts your way for fertilisation results today... xxxx
Keep your thoughts positive, and lots of hugs to you - I know it seems like forever until that phonecall
Oh wow ok ive been slack... ive been reading but just have nothing much to say unfortunately...
Holly - Big Hi you are sounding so positive lately and its fantastic!! Any news on the lumps?
Missy- Hope the TWW is flying and yes we are a bit quiet on the TWW front :) Good luck hun!
Linda - Congrats on being an auntie again!! Ben is a gorgeous name!
Mel - So sorry about your FIL, somehow its never easy whether its expected or not.
Deni - i love the fertility doll idea :) ive heard of candles etc before but must admit i have nothing... now i want something :) do whatever helps you and the doll sounds like a fantastic idea!
BB - Good luck today with those follies and its fantastic the faith you have in your FS, they do it everyday and know what they are talking about. Good luck
BG - Congrats on getting the go ahead, and i know exactly what you mean about perilously close to Christmas for results, but a BFP for xmas will be great!
BW - Your not far off stims either if i recall correctly Good luck!
Hmm i know ive missed people... so a big HI!
Well not much happening here CD43 (im giving Lou a run for her money) and still frustrated so yesterday i went and paid for the IVF and picked up the drugs ready for round 4... so now just waiting on AF. Still having my acupuncture every fortnight and on the herbs, so i hope im stimming by the end of the weekend :) She has to come in the next week or i will have to wait until Feb because the tww will flow into xmas and then my FS is off the whole of Jan.... pressures on AF!
Shan
Shannon what a long wait sweet
Good morning everyone. So many things (good and not so good) happening for people in the last day or so!
Tiggerlinda Congratulations on becoming an aunty! I'm an aunty to one little girl who's about to turn five and she is a joy (and a little brat at times too!). She continually reminds me why I'm here in this journey and she makes me feel like I can get through it :) I hope your little nephew has a beautiful impact on you and your family.
Deni I have my little IVF mascot going too. He's a little stuffed lion DF bought me after the counselling appt. for the start of our IVF. He's called Leo and he's perfect because he has all the courage (and luck, we hope!) that we need to get through. He'll be coming to my next appointment next Tuesday, for sure! He's even got courage to spare for anybody else who needs some :)
Mel I'm terribly sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope that you and DH find support and consolation in one another and your families.
Kell I've got *everything* crossed for you today, hun.
Blackduckies We always trust our doctors with the medical things that they know and that they will take care of us. Sometimes it's a little harder to trust them with things other than the medical stuff. They have no way or stepping into our shoes as individuals and knowing how we/you/anyone is feeling when they see x amount of couples going through IVF per day. I know they try to be sensitive, but sometimes they can't know how what they'll say will effect an individual, will they? It's all very tricky. I hope you're doing ok today :)
Dusty Really thinking of you today, hun. You have had such an amazing result so far, it should keep continuing. Such good news at first means lots of positive vibes for the next step. Your guys are fighters!
BG Great news!! Very excited for you! Have a wonderful weekend relaxing before your appointment on Monday. It's wonderful to see you so excited and ready to go!
Melsta We're having around 70 guests at the wedding - we originally planned for 60, but I think 70 is a really nice number for us. We chose our menu just two nights ago - they let us have a meal for free to try some of the dishes on the menu. It was really nice! It should be a lovely meal. I'll keep updating as things continue to happen in preparation for the wedding - as a distraction for everyone too! - DF and I are starting to get really excited now! His family is arriving from the UK in just under two weeks (oh yes, the complications to my IVF cycle are endless!! LOL) How are you going on your injections? I hope you're going along ok, hun.
Slyder Dorset is the best. I still miss it from when I stayed there earlier on this year. Once we're settled, you and DW can come and have a break and stay in lovely Dorset with Miss C and soon to be DH! ;) DF is v.excited about a job he's applying for in North Yorkshire at the moment, though, so we could end up anywhere at first. IVF is v. exy in the UK, and I believe it's harder to get into as I'm not a UK citizen. Too many complications, so if nothing happens with our IVF here before we leave, we'll come back at a later date and try again, and in the meantime, go back to trying the good old-fashioned way once we move. You never know :)
Missy How are you going there, hun? Wanna come and help me make placecards for the wedding? ;) Hope you're feeling ok.
Shannon I can imagine how frustrating it is waiting and knowing there is a deadline - I'm really needing my IVF cycle go to plan as I have deadlines to my wedding, to when my ILs-to-be come and the biggest deadline being when we move o/s early next year. Fingers crossed very hard for you that AF comes soon for you.
Hugs to all,
Miss C
I thought I would start a new post, as my last one is very long  sorry about the long posts, everyone
Well, I'm not exactly panicked, but I am a little apprehensive at this stage in my down-reg, and I'd love some information if anyone knows.
Today is the fourth morning for me off the pill, and AF still hasn't visited :( I've had mild cramps yesterday and today and a whopper of a headache when I woke up this morning, but no AF. No sign of it. Is that normal? I don't know how long it should take after stopping the pill. I'm a little worried because my down-reg scan is next Tuesday (13th), and I can't see that I would be able to start stims unless I've had AF before the scan, as is considered normal.
Anyone have experience with this? How long did it take for AF to visit during down-reg? I'd appreciate any advise or info that anyone has. I just don't know what to expect.
Thanks muchly :)
Deni – glad to hear that today went well for you and good to see they are checking things as well I will keep my fx for you as well hun over the next 2WW
Tiggerlinda – yay aunty – how exciting and yes spoil them rotten !!
Dusty – congrats on the 6 eggs hun – and it only takes 1 sweetie …. things have improved for you on last time so there is good signs for you already. Good luck for the results today ……
BG – good news that you are finally starting – all the best for stims … next week will be here before you know it !
Blackduckies – glad that everything got answered for you with your FS – and could that you are feeling positive with him …
Mel – so sorry to hear about your FIL … no matter how sick ppl can be you can never prepare yourselves for the unfortunate passing and subsequent emotions that follow IYKWIM … my thoughts are with you both during this time …
Shan – how do you find the acupuncture and herbs ? Do you think it helps? Our FS told us we are not to take any herbs or vitamins other than what they allow so that they have better control, acupuncture was allowed but nothing more …
Miss C – sounds like the wedding plans are coming along nicely .. and 70 is a great number. Hope the arrival of your IL’s doesn’t cause you too much strees. As to the whole AF thing I asked the nurses the same question and they said that if it didn’t arrive by a set date they just delay the start of the next phase …. My AF arrived on the Sunday and I had my last pill on the Friday before, but my AF is still here and shows no signs of going away, so I am nervous about that in itself …. What happens if AF is still here by the time I start FSH thought they said it didn’t matter … I think you should give them a call hun and ask them, surely you can speak to the nurses and see what they have to say about it …
I got a call from our FS yesterday who advised that they will more than likely be doing ICSI on the day of EPU due to my DH factors, the scientists have apparently being reviewing our file and have decided letting his swimmers go it alone wont have much of an effect based on the current data … so I guess that is a good thing in one way that at least the swimmers will make it through if not by sheer force of the scientists …
Hope everyone is otherwise well and looking forward to the weekend ..
Miss C, careful what you wish for, one day we may appear on your doorstep ;)
Don't quote me on this, but I'm fairly sure that when DW went off the pill to start the stim cycle they told her not to worry whether AF came or not as it wouldn't affect the cycle, and that it may start but not be a normal period, but in any event they'd just make any modifications to the cycle as required. As I said, not 100% but I wouldn't panic. And by all means, ask your clinic.
miss c, i have heard other girls talk of having AF delayed after coming off the pill. i had a delay on AF when on lucrin for my first down reg. your bloods (progesteron level) should predict when AF will show. it may be just around the corner hun.
missy, :stickyvibesboy: as always xx
shannon, i hope AF shows her head soon for you too hun! GL :)
holly, you are a rock and wise beyond your years. your posts have had the most calming influence on me. thank you thank you. your and slyder suggestion of re reading arielles story was sheer brilliance xx
mel, i am so sorry about your FIL. it must have been a tough week. thinking of you and your DH.
deni, sending you lots of :fertilise: vibes - hey we need all the help we can get so bring on the fertility doll...i love your description of the prom.
melsta, woo hoo, here is to wishing you all the best with ICSI now :)
to everyone for your well wishes a huge thank you.
turns out missy called the lucky number for us as we have 3 embies going strong. DH and i are over the moon. DH was so cute this morning. yesterday he had the vibe from a higher being that there was one embie on the way, this morning he said the vibe/msg was stronger and he thought there were at least 2. i :heartbeat: him ever more.
Oh, dusty! I'm so pleased for you and DH! This is wonderful news! xo
Melsta, that's a really positive thing :) It's nice to know that the little men/women in white jackets and horn-rimmed glasses are looking out for you and DH with the "data" stuff. Great to hear!
Thanks for the advice about AF guys - I think I'll go off and call my clinic. Last time I spoke to a nurse there though, she was rude and patronising to me, so I'm not exactly keen to be asing them the "dumb" questions anymore...
Anyway, I'm sure it will be fine
Two good newses today so far! Woohoo!!
aww dusty 3 little embies is just wonderful well done hun
when is transfer???
hi to all hope you are all well im just plodding along and lurking.
still working hard to save for the $$ we actually got out cheque back from medicare so that will really help for ivf # 2 and i cant wait as i have good feeling about this next cycle
well for now take care all and have a great weekend
good idea miss_c, we pay a fortune for the service so i say use it to ease your mind and get good answers.
smithy, not too long for you now hun. great news on the cheque and your savings.
ET is either sunday or tuesday depending how they look on sunday morning. we have never been able to make it to blastie stage due to low numbers. either way we don't care. i would prefer to have them back in me asap. i am feeling quite protective at the moment ;)
Dusty, fantastic news on your 3 embies !!! :confetti: :confetti: :confetti: !!! it's sounding so positive!!
Shannon - My friends all say I've become super-superstitious since TTC... I have a heap of things on the go now... My latest from my previous IUI was planting Baby's Breath seeds (gypsophila) - I'd highly recommend that to anyone. It's a bit of a positive meditation to go out there daily to water them, and when they sprout it's exciting! Out of my whole packet tho i have one sprouting strong, and two other smaller ones - but I had been slack in not watering regularly, and I didn't cover them in the initial stages so I think snails got to them. So for extra success, make a little incubator out of a clear plastic bottle cut in half, or something similar over a tray to protect from snails and keep the moisture in, and mist with water daily. My plan is to send a little cutting of the white flowers to family when our future baby is born. (I also gave packets of seeds to my closest friends and family to help with the positive thinking!)
Sorry I haven't got to everyone in this post but thinking of you all. I'd better get back to work...
:confetti:YAY DUSTY!!!!!:confetti:
What brilliant, brilliant news... I love it when I get to say I told you so!!! ;)
3 is just an amazing result - thats a 50% fert result, which is just as good as anyone else!!!
See, who says those embryologists know what they're talking about all of the time?!
The thing is - People can believe whatever they wish to believe, but regardless of how 'realistic' we tell ourselves to be, I just think when its meant to happen, its meant to happen xxx
These little ones are fighters, and if nothing else, its shows that your eggs aren't anywhere near giving up and moving over for donor eggs at this stage ;)
Good on you for being so positive - now just sit back and wait, regardless of whether they go in sooner or if they go to blast, you've already proven everybody wrong... and even surprised yourselves... AND you've gotten further than ever before, so you're moving forward and closer with every step xxx
I am just so thrilled for you, Sweetie :D
Dusty - i am soo happy for you to hear that news - how sweet is your DH saying he has the vibes, oh what a great set of little embies ... and I hear you re the protective stage, as our FS said to us, their is no incubator like that of our bodies so as soon as they are ready I am sure you will be glad to have them back and settling in ... thanks for the positive thoughts re ICSI, I am sure this is the better way to go, at least they dont have to do any hard work the little swimmers lol they can take it easy and float around the pool .... picking up all the chicks
deni - that is such a good idea to do things to enhance the positive thinking side of IVF, superstitious or not I say good on you and keep it all up ... I keep talking to my body lolol as weird (?) as that sounds (not out loud of course  but I like to give myself positive reassurance)
miss_c - yeah it is positive i think at first we were a bit taken aback but after re-reading our little blue bible they gave us at the start we realise this is actually a better chance than just letting them get through on their own ... 2 more days and then it is double injections for me ... how did you go with the clinic ? You know what though hun, there are no dumb questions in this process and the fault lies with them if that is how they perceive your questions... dont ever think that questions are dumb as this is not a normal process by any means and we are entitled to ask whatever questions we want to, especially with the amount of time and money that is involved from each of us !!!
How is everyone's days going so far? I'm looking forward to knock off time though to head home, have wine and pizza with my DH and a night snuggling on the couch .. :heartbeat:
OK Ok
First of im sorry to all you lovely ladies but still not doing personals as im a little emotional over Dusty's new. Not going to go on.
Im just going to copy what I wrote in your thread DW.
Hope all you others are well too. xxxxx

Congtrats to you and DH . xxxxx:happyforyou:
Im all emotional now. So much for wipeing the tears away. Need tissues now......lol Oh Gosh come on Missy pull yourself together!!!
DW we did it. Lets bring on the BFP hun. xxx
Awesome news Dusty - fantastic!!! :D:D:D
Had my scan today, I have 30 follicles, and she gave me the option of EPU or cancellation. No transfer. I opted for EPU but and terrified of ohss developing. I just feel sick at the thought of cancelling as well. Dr says if she thought I would be in serious danger she would cancel me, but that I still could get some degree of illness, and if I was ok with that prospect, I could go ahead and have retrieval. I trust her, and want to go ahead... but I am so scared. EPU will be Monday, she will call me Wednesday to let me know whats happening with embies etc. I am relieved, but scared too.
Kell fingers crossed for Monday keep resting and being well
