Sorry just a quickie tonight as no time for personals


Scan today shows my ovaries have gone crazy in the past 3 days. I now have total of 50 follies!!
Just over 20 were b/n 12-18mm with only a few in the "mature" range. E2 -10,786 ( no wonder I am feeling so blah!)
Had my thoughts set on a Mon EPU bt with such stimulation they won't let me go any longer so trigger tonight and EPU now set for sat at 12.30pm.
I am a bit worried that most of those eggs just won't be mature enough to be of any use but my nurse still thinks I could get close to 10 "useful" eggies - which i would be happy with. Guess its better than getting 25 but ending up in hosp with OHSS or having the cycle cancelled - this was probably a close call today so thankful they caught before I got to whatever their "cut off" point is.
A touch scared about the pain I might be in after EPU. They will be jabbing my ovaries for nearly ALL those follies, even if most of them only yield immaure eggs.Even the sonographer warned me I was likely to be pretty sore... eek! Ah well, will just be happy if we get a reasonable number of "good" eggs and subsequent embies so we can proceed to the PGD

Meredith - wow - that's a lot of eggs - I know nothing about the issues surrounding so many eggs as I've only had 4 at most! but 10 good ones sounds like a good thing. Good luck.

just rang uorologist and cant get in til FEB 19th! im so devastated! I asked is it better to go straight to see a fertility specialist and she said no you have to come to the urologist as the fertility clinics are only for girl problems!!! Am I stupid or something! has this happened to anyone else, everyone is so reluctant to help us coz we are considered "young" age doesnt make medical conditions less serious i just dont get it.

Oh hon, I feel your pain :( Personally I would be skipping the urologist and go straight to the fertility specialist. DH as very low sperm motility and we were told to see the FS as they are the only ones who do the treatments. Definitely get on a cancellation list anyway, quite often you will get a call from that.

Meredith -Oh lordy - 50 follicles could mean a big egg haul - are they watching out for OHSS for you'?
Neptune - A word of warning with the Orgalutran, they are really blunt and bounce off your skin if you dont press hard enough!
JBM - Enjoy the massage. I get massages on a semi-regular basis, good for the body and the soul I say.

AFM - I have had a crappy week. Just found out my brothers 20 year old girlfriend is pregnant with her 4th child. No you did not miss read that, this will be their fourth child (third child together) and she has only just turned 20. The relationship is so dysfunctional, they bash each other up, there are drug and alcohol problems, the eldest is developmentally delayed, which I believe is from her heavy drinking and smoking during the pregnancy. DOCS and the police have been called in dozens of times but they only ever get a slap on the wrist. She is four months pregnant and her youngest was only born this March. GAH!!!!!!!!!! Oh and they didnt tell us, I found out by accident on facebook, they dont know that I know.
Sorry guys, just needed to vent about it. Sometimes I feel like Im living in a Jerry Springer episode!

My transfer is tomorrow, I have booked a session of acupuncture for beforehand (only time I could get in) so hopefully that helps them stick. So scared as these are our last two frosties, but excited at the same time.

I know, I'm up very late... or early depending on how you look at it.

BecD - I would be as frustrated as you, having someone you know with so many children, who don't care for and cherish them as much as you know you could. It's bizarre how people less deserving pop them out without so much as trying. You just keep on chugging. It's not the first who gets to the finish line that counts.

I'm too bleary eyed to do any other personals tonight. I have been away for a bit but wanted to see how you are all going. I'm always thinking of you all and hoping you are all keeping positive and things are going well for you.

My next FS appointment is on 6th Dec. They'll start tracking my cycle again to get ready for my FET for the New Year. Haven't gotten AF since my m/c so hoping it all starts again normally so FET is not delayed too long. I'm in good spirits and am just shaking off the last of my sinus/fever/flu... aargh... I've been a coughing mess.

Blimey, you weren't kidding about the orgalutran BecD. That was a little bit traumatic. Should I do them somewhere more fleshy? Sorry to hear about your brother and girlfriend, that is so unfair.

Meredith - hope you EPU goes well, if it makes you feel any better - I just had EPU on WED with 48 follicles and a hormone level of 15900. They retreived 27 eggs of which 23 were mature and 19 fertilised. So good luck hun!!!

21 - I feel your pain. I first strated approaching GP's for a referall to a specialist when i was 24 and no one would take me seriously because of my age. They all told me to stop worrying and that i would fall pregnant no worries at all. It was 2 years later at 26 that i met a lovely female doctor on the Gold Coast who referred me to Fertility Gold Coast. Also, don't worry too much about your partner - my husband had a 98% abnormality rate but ICSI can bypass that problem as you can see from our fertilisation rate!!!

AFM - feeling quite bloated and sore ATM and just hoping that OHSS doesn't kick in. If all goes well I am booked in for blastie transfer on Monday morning so :crossfingers:

I'm new here I hope you don't mind me joining you. I just want to say that you ladies are all amazing. Wishing you good luck wherever you are in your cycle.

This is my first IVF cycle I've been wanting to do it in 2003 but DH wasn't ready go figure! That was really hard for me. Now we're both ready so here we go! I start my Gonal injections today and I have my Ultrasound and Blood Test next Fri. I'm so excited to finally start IVF. I feel like now we finally have a real chance. We have unexplained Fertility and I have Polycistic Ovaries.

It's so great to talk to someone that understands the emotional turmoil that you go through doing this. I've only told 2 girlfriends my parents and DH parents so it's hard as they don't always understand so I'm grateful BB is here and we can share our experiences and help each other.

Jen- good luck with your first cycle! it's exciting to get started...there are lots of people here to chat with and get support from

mollygirl- wow big results!! fingers crossed for your transfer..its so nervous waiting

AFM - feeling a bit flat this arvo. Just want Christmas and New Years to be over so I can get down to the serious end of my next cycle. Cant seem to get excited about anything at the minute, not even Christmas. Is a let down when all I wanted for Christmas was a BFP. I know Im not alone.

meredith - good luck with your EPU tomorrow! 50 eggs is major. i got 22 mature (25 total) in my first EPU and avoided OHSS, so I'll cross fingers that you avoid OHSS too. Hope you're ok xx

AFM, today is my first day of leave - I'm taking the next few weeks off to really focus on getting pg this month. I've been devoting far too much time, effort and energy into the wrong things lately (mostly work) and the time has come for a BIG change. I'm really looking forward to my next few weeks of relaxing in the lead up to (hopefully) a 2 x embie FET in about 10 or so days time...and then a BFP has been ordered for Christmas :lol: Hope you girls are all well.

Mels - sounds like a plan! You have to look after YOU and whats important in your life. We all put other things first especially work. Hope this is the one for you :crossfingers: :D

I would love to fall pregnant naturally and have a Christmas miracle but dont want to get my hopes up too much as it just makes you fall harder.

Im thinking of doing acupunture as I need to find a way to deal with stress. Just trying to find one is the hard part in particular one that is open late so I can get to appointments. I dont get home from work until 6.30pm

Sorry for dropping in like this but I was wondering if any of you had some advice for me. My cycle was just cancelled today. I had really low E2 levels (51 today seven days after starting FSH even after increasing the dosage to 375 for the last two days) and only two follicles.

Had a call from my FS now. She is happy to do a flare cycle with me but says I can't start straight away again as my levels are just too low.

She says I have two options:

• Either go on the pill for three weeks and then start again with a cycle where I start both the Lucrein and the FSH at the same time or
• to wait until I have my next period (she thinks that will take between 4 to 6 weeks and then start a flare cycle.

Without the pill she says there is a chance that I will have too high levels of progesterone (spelling?) and she won't be able to put the embryos but freeze them (she says if she freezes them there is a 85% chance for them to defrost fine).

The natural cycle seems to have the advantage that they can check my FSH level at the start of the period and if it's less than 10 it means it might be a good month with and okay number of follicles for me to start.

Anyone has any advice on this?

Transfer is done. Huge drama surrounding the day - clinic wouldnt let me transfer 2 after all, had a meeing with scientific director where i got really ****ty and upset. Will be writing a letter to the clinic about it all. Fingers crossed this works
