Holly, hope the prednisone does the trick! I also hope it doesn't give you the rages, grumpyness and just general GRRRR factor it is giving me! Hopefully the short course is enough for you to avoid it - I get put on it for very long periods of time - ick!

I am feeling a bit more positive after seeing my FS today. He is actually so nice! He pretty much confirmed what I knew - ie that my eggs were too immature and that was because my body didnt react to the drugs initially and then when they upped my dose from 150 - 300iu on day 6 my ovaries spazzed out. So on day 11 I had heaps of follies but were small in size (ranging from 8-15mm and only a couple were 18mm; and because my blood level was 9350 they were worried about OHSS). He has suggested with my next cycle to start with 225iu and monitor from there.
He was lovely and said 'I am confident I will get you pregnant'. I cant say when but you will. He was happy with how everything else went with the cycle so that was reassuring.
I also asked him about the blasty vs 2-3 day and he said yes there is more of a chance of embie surviving, and that if I have more than 3 good qual embies next time around he'll grow them to blasty stage.
So feeling pretty anxious to move forward. Will all depend on when my AF arrives, prefer it to come a bit late this month - as this will fit in better with work. Anyway will keep you all posted.

Just to let you know that I just got the word - I'm pregnant! :bfp:
I know I have been extremely lucky as this was our first attempt and I know that for many of you this has been, and still is, a really long struggle.
Thank you all for your great support during this journey. I certainly couldn't have done it without the help and support of everyone on BB.
Hope to see many more :bfp: in the not too distant future.
Mon, like they say, the first cycle is often an experiment. Your FS sounds very positive and so you should be too. It's good you'll be back into it soon.

Mon - I too have had issues in my cycles with immature eggs - due to changing doses halfway through... which is why I've never had any embies to freeze.
Keep the faith in your FS - Its great he figured this out after the 1 attempt, it took my clinic 4 cycles to realise :rolleyes:
They only do EPU one day a week here, too so couldn't let my eggs coast a little to become mature.
Next time round (would be wonderful to think I won't need one, but you know!) we're going through a city clinic that does EPU every day of the week!
You'll be all ready to go for the next one - and much more confident because you know a little bit more, too. ;)

Ok, so EPU monday we managed to get 15 eggies from the 15 follicles!! Can you believe it? FS was amazed at the result for our first cycle and 7 days of injections.
By Tuesday, 11 had fertilised and when we arrived for transfer on wednesday, they told us that one had developed abnormally and one just stopped growing. So we had 9, transferred 1 and the other 8 are perfect for freezing, according to the scientist.
FS is extremely happy with everything, he said it is all perfect.
Have come home with 2 boxes of crinone and progynova and provera. Everything to be taken twice a day for the next 14-15 days.
Trigger went extremely well, thought it would be a nightmare. We have had very limited sleep though, but have made it home safe.

holly, sounds promising with the prednisone. BW is right watch out for mood swings. i always found drinking a good amount of water helped me.

Well, now we will be eagerly waiting for the call from the Scientist to let us know how many of our little eggies survived over night.... Everytime I get one step further I breathe a big sigh of relief, then get anxious about the next step.

Anyway thought I'd share a miracle story to boost every1's mood. A friend of mine that I have known for around 15 yrs ( we used to work together and have lost touch a few times, but manage to bump into each other and pick up the friendship). Well she had been trying for 12 years to conceive. The last time I saw her a few years ago, she had done couple of rounds of IVF and on 2nd attempt fell PG but then after 5 mths m/c'd which was really devestating. She said she sank into depression, but gathered the strength to carry on. 3 more cycles later, she fell PG and m/c'd after 6 weeks. They then discovered she had a blood clotting problem. They decided to adopt and were about to start the process and gave up on the idea of their own biological child. They went away for a couple of weeks to chill and forget about everything. 6 weeks later she was feeling strange and really nauseas. Thinking she had a virus went to GP. They told her she could be PG and she laughed saying 'impossible'. Anyway they did test and she was! She now has a gorgeous 8 month old daughter. Met her for the first time yesterday and she is adorable! Her story is truly inspiring - so never give up!!!

hi to everyone and hope you are going as well as you can in your ttc journey.
i had minor meltdown on the way to the clinic this morning. everything is absolutely great and AF arrived (finally) after a false start yesterday. i think my positivity and enthusiasm has been hiding my growing anxiety at this being Cycle no4 and possibly our last before heading to donor if it doesn't work. so i have decided i am going to be more honest with myself and take each day as it comes and not grab hold of any negative emotions or bottle them up - just be aware if they come into my head and then let them go, and instead focus on growing happy, healthy follies over the next two weeks.
we have a new protocol as i am going to be injecting pregnyl every 2nd day (just 50 i.u) as well. i should start lucrin tonight and then stims tomorrow. my FS stuffed up and prescribed Gonal F which i don't respond well too, so hopefully i will be using Puregon instead which has resulted in follies for us in the past.

We now have 2 embies on board 1 9 cell and 1 seven cell. I have enjoyed the relaxation acupuncture has bought this cycle we went yesterday before transfer and today and back Monday. All is left now is for my little ones to grow and take hold.

Good news on the convincing DH front, as always he has seen the light! We still have 1 - 2 weeks to confirm everything and have decided to leave his DNA fragmentation test until after this cycle. Rest up and i hope the little ones are snuggling in tight!!

Well we managed to have 7 out of our 8 eggies fertilise (now called embies? I don't know, I get lost in the details!). So we were really excited about that. We call the clinic again tomorrow to find out how they're going & when transfer will be (maybe Monday or Wednesday). Definitely feeling positive but trying not to get ahead of myself.....

Bit of an embarrassing question... I took my last pill Thursday and am waiting for AF to start (COME ON! only time I have ever actually WANTED a period and only just spotting).. Anyway, I have my down reg scan this Thursday morning and am freaking out that I will still have a period. The information I have is contradictory. One thing says it should be done when the period is light or gone, the other says if you are bleeding, still go to the scan anyway. I just think.. god, even less dignified somehow? more embarrassing? Or is that just me? And have others had to go whilst still with AF?
Sorry for the intrusive questions, but it has me quite concerned.
Baby - I dont do down reg cycles, but the first visit to my FS happened to be day 2 and she still went ahead and did the scan not the greatest but neither is all the other rubbish we do in AC. This cycle she purposely wants to scan on day 2 as well. And yes definately even less dignified and embarrassing! Good luck hun :) Chocolate or retail therapy helps me :P
Oh and Peta congrats on the fertilisation results thats fantastic!
baby bliss, i haven't done your pill protocol but you should be right for next thursday. have a chat with your clinic tomorrow to put your mind at ease perhaps. i have had scans with AF happening, both external and internal and it is fine. they are so used to it.

I had very eratic AF while doing my cycles, and there were times when scan and AF were at the same time. I did ring and discuss with nurse and she said they can still get a really good idea of what's going on. (She even told me how much longer AF was going to last for :redface:). Less dignified maybe, but my dignity was well and truely out the door by then anyway :p You can always discuss with your clinic, and see if they want to wait a few more days or scan anyway.

Thanks all. I am now concerned because AF still has not developed. I took last pill Thursday last week in the morning, and all I am getting is barely there spotting. So I guess I should prepare myself that at Thursdays scan I may not be ready to start stimming after all. Bugger. :(

Well, our little embies are going well. So well that I have just returned from transfer, so I guess this means I need to move to the TWW thread. We transferred one & have 6 in the freezer, so at least the fact that there are some in storage is a positive if this cycle doesn't work (I should be more positive!). I really do wish all the best for all of you & hope to see more of you in the TWW thread soon.

Not much happening here, lumps are almost gone... YAAAYY! :D
Feeling quite feral from the prednisone, but the pain free legs are worth it ;) Only 3 more days to go until I'm finished with them... here's hoping it all doesn't come back when the treatment stops :pray:
Just can't wait to get moving again - as soon as I'm finished with the prednisone I'll leave it a week and then all going well start back on Antonias herbs & treatment... We're going to continue with that until after Christmas, and then if no luck... look out IVF stim cycle #5 (good grief!)
DH & I have talked about seeing Dr Sacks for some extra testing before we start - Because we always seem to have the problem with our embies sticking, and especially now because of the fact that my GP still thinks the lumps originally were a reaction from the infection from my c/s.
So thats where we're heading.... would be nice to get a BFP sometime in the near future before another ivf cycle lands upon us!
