A Newbie
Hello everyone, this is my very first time on BB and hope you don't mind me joining in the thread. :) It's just so nice to know that others are on the rocky road with you and share your feelings and emotions, whether good or bad. Sometimes friends and family members just don't understand.
We have been trying to conceive #2 for around 18 months now, and after 4 failed IUI's and 2 failed IVF cycles and one FET we are onto our 3rd IVF cycle and currently in the TWW. BT 26/9/08.
Sending lots of good luck to you all and lots of :bluedust:
-
Hi Jodie and :welcome: to BB
You will find this a great place for support of your TTC journey.
Friends and Family are great but until you have been in the same position no one can truly understand.
Come join us in the TWW thread there is a bunch of us in there who are all in the same boat as you with blood test next week.

Another newbie
Hi, :hello:
Just wanted to say hello. Hope it's okay to join this thread, it's really inspiring reading all your stories.
I am doing IVF because of a genetic conditions that can be inherited by the baby. I fell pregnant five years ago and had to end the pregnancy when this showed in the CVS.
Now trying IVF with PGD and ICSI and will start my first cycle in October.
Good luck and babydust to all of you. :pink-babydust:
Sara

Hello to all hope you are all enjoying your weekends
Kelly D- Glad AF finally showed for you and now you can get things started. I too like this site for the support none of my friends have ever had to deal with infertility so they don't really get what I am going through. It is good to have this site and be able to talk to other women who are going through the same thing or have already experianced it. Good luck with friday's scan:goodluck2:
Jodie C65- :welcome: good luck with TWW, not long to test now keeping my fingers crossed for you.:crossfingers:
Brooke 2550- Good luck with injections and ultrasounds keep us posted on what is happening
JBM- Hope AF arrives on time for you, keeping my fingers crossed for oct transfer :crossfingers::goodluck:
Neptune- Good luck with US and BT. Fingers crossed for WED EPU for you:crossfingers:
Nicole S- Hang in there the TWW will be over before you know it. :comfort::bellyrubs:
AFM Well I think I got an answer to my confusion of wether I O'd or not. AF reared her ugly head today so I guess that means back to square one for me. I will ring FS tomorrow and let her know and start on my injections again see if we can get some better results this time around.
-
:hug:JUST HUGS FOR YOU ALL TODAY AND I HOPE YOUR ALL GOOD AND HAD A GREAT WEEKEND THINKING OF YOU ALL
-
Yet another newbie
Hello everyone. I'm a Bellybelly 'virgin' and hoping ok to join this post :). I'm starting my first IVF cycle. I'll be 41 in Nov so have been fast-tracked to IVF cycle before 12 months is up.
I started Provera tabs on Sept 5 and stopped on Sept 15, 10 units Lucrin started on Sept 13 and still going. Now waiting for AF, which is just refusing to show - very frustrating. :(
I'm on cycle Day 35.
As soon as she does, I can start stimming.
Anyway, all the very best of luck to you all. Hope things are going well.
That girl.
-
Hi Everyone
I am a little out of touch while in my 2WW, but I hope you are all doing well.
I am not too hopefull about this cycle, so most likeley I will be returning here for another stim cycle soon!
Welcome to all the newbies!, and as for the rest, good luck with your pill popping, sniffing, japping, and extra good luck for anyone having EPU's

To everyone else, Hi! Hope things are starting to look up for you all soon!
AFM, week 2 of being an unemployed bum. My house is so clean you could eat off the toilet! AF arrived Sat, as much as I know it's nearly impossible, every time she's due I still hope there's some little miracle happening, but it never is. Oh well soon enough hey! The family bbq went well. Not a thing was mentioned about the "situation" and after copius amounts of alcohol step-son dearest even managed to have a half decent conversation with me!
Counting down the sleeps now!
-
Hi Everyone
Sorry - have been quiet or a little while.
Welcome to Jodie, Sara & That girl.
Also, I think I said it before but congrats Possums - wonderful news :)
AFM - I am running in line with Neptune and sitting patiently (or not) waiting for my u/s and bt results from this morning and probably looking at a Wed EPU. It is sad but I was so excited that I had to tick every box on the sign in sheet this morning - even the receptionist laughed at me when asked while I was smiling.

Hi Girls
I thought I would pop in and say hi to everyone. It is really good to see new people around here. I don't often post here, usually in blogs and journals etc... But I figure why not join in? I am starting the pill soon...heading for ICSI #2. I love the support BB can offer us and I feel lucky to be a part of it.
Well Smithy - fancy seeing you here? Glad your popping away - syneral soon? I can't remember if you sniff or have an extra bimbi (injection - bimbi is greek for injection - i think it sounds cute )
Go Possums - great news on BFP!
Lucky Strike - TWW is torture! I hope you get your BFP wish soon!
That girl, red lady, wishing baby - welcome to BB! :wiggle:
Hi Muppity and JBM I think I've seen you on my travels - but hello officially!
Anyway I look forward to following your journeys and I hope everyone has their ray of sunshine soon!
Also, I am meant to be doing a lot of uni work - I'm very good at procrastinating! So if am MIA for a few days you know I am being good and getting some work done!
Rach xx
-
:cheer:yay rachy not long now hun and good luk with the uni stuff
-
Hello again all! Well, we have another bunch of newbies! Welcome! I generally don't do personals ladies (just a heads up :D) as I tend to get lost with keeping up with the thread, so apologies in advance. Probably when I get to know everyone better it will start to happen.
Anyway, hope everyone's weekend was croozy and everyone got time out from stressing about the TWW. I must admit that I spent a lot of time knitting. It's a baby snuggle :D Was going to be part of the stock for my online shop that I'll be opening one day (my pipe dream! lol), but who knows, the way my symptoms are going I might need it myself! BB are still sore, feels like they're being pulled from the nipple (sorry if TMI!). Have had interesting and unusual cramps, MASSIVELY bloated (also unusual) and coming home on the train tonight I started feeling quite queasy. Then again, I was sitting facing backwards and I don't travel well that way, so it could be nothing. Oh, been stupidly hungry and queasy if don't eat too . . . fingers crossed, eh?
I was going to buy a HPT on my way home but luckily I don't actually pass a chemist and because of the rain couldn't be bothered going to the poopermarket after I'd arrived home. DH wouldn't go for me either, he's on a mission to not allow me to test early! This is probably a good thing.
Thinking of you all, and hoping that we'll all be belly buddies together at the end of this week! Dinner's ready, so I'm off for the evening.
Cheers,
Meo.
-
Hi Everyone
To all the newbies :welcome:.
To the old timers :hello:, hope all is going well with the sniffing, jabbing, pill popping or the waiting.
Sorry no personals, so many of us in here that I lose track of everyone, but you are all in my thoughts anyway.
Smithy: You crack me up, you are like our "Sunshine" in here brightening everyones day with you positive vibes.
AFM: Well at day 17 of sniffing (I feel like a bit of a junky) and bonus AF seems to have already gome away. For me this is great as she is normally here for a good 7 days, so this means that things can start getting into action to get the lining growing sooner....
Start pill popping the Progynova on Friday to help boost the levels and hopefully next Friday there is a beautiful 9mm or more lining waiting for our 2 FET's. At least I can get through this week, GF week in Melbourne is always a good distraction and with my Team in the GF (Go Cats) again it is good to take my mind off the waiting. We are heading up to Echuca on Friday for a long Grand Final Weekend away (we went to the GF last year, but not this year as the money is being used to pay our medical bills) so by the time we are back home we will be closer to our transfer day.
Anyway, I will keep lurking here to see how things go with out TWW's with BT due this week, :crossfingers: we have lots more girls joining possums in the pg thread in th near future.
-
KellyD - Your FET isnt too far now, good luck with your 2 embies. Hopwe they both make it and you get a nice BFP at the end.
Meo - No no no, stay away from the HPT. THey just confuse things. You dont have long until the BT now, so stay strong, and hope you get your BFP on Friday.
Your symptons sound really positive, so just wait a little longer, and you'll get your suprise at the end.
I learnt my lession about HPT's while doing IUI. You do the test and you dont know if its true or not b/c of the meds, so you just end up waiting anyway, but then you also have the result from the HPT playing in your mind. It was harder during IUI thought b/c my clinic didnt test until the 19th day, but with IVF it is 14 days, which ends on THursday for me! Lets hope I get a nice suprise at the end, but my symptoms arent all that great so not holding my breath.
rach81 - good luck with uni, it can but such a bore I can see why you are looking for distractions :)
brideofchucky - good to see your FS appointment is getting closer, you must be getting excited.
Smithy - big hello to you, for making all the girls smile here.
Hi :hello:to everyone else, hope you are all well.

-
Oh Smithy - what would we do without your sunshine? Maybe my DH's description of me being "a bit like Satan's more grumpy older sister" would be closer to the truth LOL
AFM - I have EPU at 7:30 in the morning. And then a whole day on the couch with all the things that I have been rocording the last few weeks because I have been too tired to watch them YAY!

Hi all my friends,
I hope everything is going well for each and every one of you. Sorry for no personals..will keep up with you all from now. Been thinking of you all though.
I'm back from my work trip...had a good trip and am ready to get everything started next week. I have an U/S on Monday and will hopefully be starting needles then. This is my first antagonist cycle, so I'm excited about EPU being so close.
Will catch up with you all soon.
Sweet dreams
Hugs Bel
-
Hey all you gorgeous baby makers, I hope everyone is doing well. I can't seem to keep up, so no time for personals today.
AFM. My EPU keeps getting delayed by a couple of days, but according to my BT and US yesterday, I will be scheduled in for Monday the 29th! One more BT and US tomorrow morning, then trigger for Saturday night, in on Monday. They keep telling me everything looks fantastic which is making me feel really positive, said that my oestrgen was 4500???? Don't know much about the levels, it's just too hard.
So will update you soon!
Muppity, how was your EPU???
-
Hi All
EPU went well yesterday. Am feeling great - but trying hard to take it easy - not often you get a certificate to say that DH has to be nice to me! (I sent him to work today - he was driving me insane yesterday afternoon with all his "caring")
Neptune - bugger that they keep moving it. But good that it looks like all systems go for Monday. hope that they don't move it again on you.
Hi to everyone else :)
-
Muppity I am really glad your EPU went well yesterday... Resy up as much as you can. Do you have 2 day embies or 5 day blasties transferred? Just curious? My clinic seems to do 2 day embies..
Rach xx
-
Hi Ladies..
I'm kinda new around here.. I have been lurking and watching over you all but haven't really posted much til now cause nothing much was happening but I'm now booked in for a Lap, hysteroscopy, Dye and D&C to see if there is any reasoning behind our difficulties in TTC.. 30 September is D day... After that will be determined by what is found.. Either way I just want to keep moving forward.. Hi to you all and I look forward to getting to know you...
Dee
-
;)aww good luk dee i hope you can get some answers hunny
-
Hi Ladies
lilmisshavachat good luck with your way forward, hope your BFP is just around the corner.
Muppity congratulations on the EPU, hope the little embie sticks and you get a BFP in 2 weeks!
Neptune good luck with your EPU, not sure about the levels, but if they made a special mention about them then they must be good! Hope you also get you BFP in a couple weeks.
Bel glad this is a short cycle and your EPU will be soon. That is very exciting, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Hi to everyone else, I just want to say thankyou for all the support I have received in this thread throughout my IVF journey.
Today I recieved my BFP, and it wa sthe biggest releif I have ever experienced. After doign so badly at EPU and only 1 embie left for ET, my hopes werent all that high. But it all worked out for me in the end.
And I hope that it all works out for each and every one of you here.
IVF is such a rollercoaster, the emotions we go thru are all over the place, and every one here desrves to get their BFP very soon.
Wishing everyone lots of luck with whatever stage they are up to now :goodluck2:
I will keep checking in to see how you are all going.
-
Congratulations Luckystrike..
That is awsome news.. I hope you have a H&H 9 months..
-
Well, hello ladies, I've been lurking for a while but I've decided it's time to properly join this thread.
This is my back story: As of today, I'm on Day 2 of my first ever IVF/ISCI cycle due to male factor infertility. We've only been trying since around February this year but after about six months I mentioned to the Dr we'd been trying with no success and I was expecting to be told "you're young, keep trying and we will do tests when you've been trying for a year" but instead she sent both my and DH off for the basic preliminary tests. I secretly think she thought I had PCOS as I have a few of the "visible" symptoms. But no, luckily I don't have PCOS. Instead we found out that my DH has very poor sperm in terms of count, motility and morphology. This was completely unexpected as DH is a very healthy, non-drinker, non-smoker and has never really been sick. We were floored by this new but quickly went into "action" mode and jumped on the IVF/ISCI bandwagon to parenthood. (Along the way we were delighted to concieve a "miracle bub" but lost him/her at only 5 weeks 1 day. Our FS was floored that DH's swimmers had managed that but FS said it was extremely unlikely that we would be able to conceive ourselves again and that it was a statistical abnomaly).
Anyway, we are of course hoping for a BFP from this cycle but trying to stay realistic by saying we would be happy with some frosties in the freezer for future cycles. A few of my "barriers" when it comes to IVF include a very kind and loving mother-in-law whom I get along with very well BUT who hasn't heard of boundaries and the fact that I work for two very cold bosses who are power hungry, secretive and sometime just plain mean.
I'm hoping to join in with you all along your journey and to also gain from your experience and wisdom. Now, has anyone heard the urban myth that milk and eggs are good for nice egg development? What do you think?
Hope you are all having a good day!
-
Hi everyone
Firstly, welcome to our newbies :welcome:
Lucky - CONGRATULATIONS! That is wonderful news  Wishing you a wonderful 9 months.
Ruth - welcome and congratulations on starting your cycle. I hope that it all goes really well for you. Sorry to hear that you have awful bosses. Remember that pretty much everything occurs sleepily early in the morning (or it does at most clinics that I am aware of) and you really only need time off for the EPU and transfer. You will get a medical certificate for both and it generally doesn't mention what it was for - mine just says "medical procedure". So there is no reason for them to know unless you tell them. It is none of their business. As for your MiL. Don't you want to just strangle them sometimes :). Again, if you aren't comfortable with it just don't tell her. If she asks just say something like "yep - it is all going really well" and change the subject. the only hard bit it making sure that you and DH sing from the same hymn sheet.
Dee - welcome. Wishing you luck for the 30th. Remember to rest up afterwards - none of those procedures are much fun. Although I did find looking at the screen for the dye test quite interesting.
Rach - we do a day 5 blast transfer. So should be Monday afternoon all things going well.
AFM - my nurse called yesterday to say that we had 12 eggs picked up but quite a few were immature. But they decided to ICSI 11 of them and yesterday we still had 10 really good embies. I couldn't be happier. DH was strutting around like a pea**** last night saying things like "oh yeah - who's da man?" Enough said :)
Hope that everyone is well.
