Hey Loops - you know that Govt thing runs out at the end of the year tho. I know its prob a bit late for you but at least it is not forever.

Girls - anyone had headache, bloated feeling, little bit of cramping 2 days past ET? I thought it was due to what I ate today (My special TCM hearb tea this morning, banana mid morning, risotto for lunch) But I have a reasonable headache now and kind of even feel a bit nauseas. I don't know if I'm just imagining it all or what. I don't recall feeling liek this last 2WW. I'm not reading into it at all - just wondering if others had any similar feelings or any feelings post ET.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for the messages of welcome and support- they are hugely appreciated.

sonyalouise- I'm not sure if the protocols have specific names, but I didn't have to have Synarel and have started today with the FSH (Gonal) and will then start the agonist injections next week. Egg and sperm quality is good so according to the FS, we are very straightforward. From your lips to God's ears, Doc!

As I mentioned I went in today to pick up my drugs. I wonder if it is only in Cairns where the nurse comments on how useful the cooler bag will be to carry my Breezers !!! Now I'm wondering what to expect side-effect wise??

    Afternoon all!

Jilly - Can't help you with your question sorry as I know nothing about IUI but hopefully you'll find some good info here.

Emerald Star - I know I will POAS before my BT!! I have a short cycle, so AF is due about 5 days before BT. I figure if she turns up, well then I won't need to, but if she doesn't then i'm perfectly justified. DH will probably get cross at me but i'm sure I can talk him around! What about you? It's getting closer to the 14th...???

mel - sounds like things are progressing along nicely - such a good feeling! And glad you had a good response from your manager. I've found it invaluable having my managers in on why i'm absent so often.

Tracy - I was really surprised when FS first suggested we transfer 2 embies. During our first cycle when I asked him he was adamant he wouldn't do it. Then after it was cancelled due to the whole multi nucleate thing he said in order to speed things up we'd consider transferring 2 second time round depending on how many embies we had. Silly question here - you mentioned you're in sniffing hell (which sounds dreadful and i'm sending some your way). What does the synarel do? Which protocol is it used in - the down reg cycle???

Nix - lucky you getting an early BT in!! I know drinking at a wedding won't compare with a BFP, but it can certainly help soothe the soul for a night. As for your question - this is my first 2WW so can't help you but sure i'll be asking the same questions in a day or two so interested to see the responses

Loops -all the best for a natural BFP! Another ignorant question from me - what does royal jelly do?

Meg - you should have a leaflet outlining possible side effects. I personally was pretty lucky and didn't really get any, but I was incredibly tired. And more inclined than usual to eat chocolate. But I could have been using the extra hormones as an excuse. you won't have any, though I know some people like to experience symptoms so they know something is happening.

AFM - back to work and the real world tomorrow. I think it will be a good thing, after all week at home i'm so obsessed with being pregnant or not being pregnant that i'm sick of myself!!!

    EPU Today

Hi ladies, you may have to allow a decent amount of time to read this post it is a bit long.

Nix, Mitf, Emerald-Thanks for the info about the EPU procedure, I was still very nervous lying there and a little bit scared, but I never even felt the cold going up my arm or tasted the funny taste the anesthesist said I would. One minute lying there the next he doctor was by my side asking if I was awake yet!

Lise- TWW YAY, hopefully I will be joining you there on Saturday.

Coral73- Glad to hear you are on the way with your injections, hope you aren?t having any side effects.

Mitf- Having a plan makes perfect sense, with the situation we are all in I think there is nothing worse then finding out it didn?t work and then having to wait and make decisions. you don?t need it.

Airline- Enjoy your time off with DH.

Jilly-I agree with Emerald, I wish I had gone straight to ivf, rather that having an iui. Everyone is different though and you need to do what you feel the most comfortable with.

Meltcc- Glad you have told your manager, one less thing for you to worry about. Good news about your follicles! I did all sorts of research to see if I could help them grow, I found someting that said to put your legs up against the wall for 20 mins each night to encourage blood flow to the ovaries. I did it, but I dont know if it helped.

Loops- Hope you sell that tractor soon!

Tracey- I am sorry you are not going well with the synarel. I couldn?t handle it which is why I asked for lucrin, although it is more expensive and my tummy was quite tender.

Emerald- You must be getting close to the POAS

Nix- Good news about the early blood test. Could you still get a positive test later, if it is negative?

Mel76- I think your protocol is called antagonist (not sure of spelling) which is a shorter on than what I was on. So at least your process won?t take 6-7 weeks, it should be about 3-4 weeks. Good luck with your cycle. In terms of side effects some people don?t react at all, I had headaches, was extremely tired and towards the end the bloating was ridiculous. I was on a very high dose though. What dose are you on?

Juniper and Tantee- I hope you are still enjoying your time off. I can?t believe the first week of October is almost gone already.

Motherhood- Where are you up to in your cycle? Have you started the FSH injections yet?

Mummawannabe and Calin- If you are lurking I hope you are well and that your journeys are going to plan.

I think I have covered everyone, if not to all the other ladies reading this forum

    to Lise, Emerald and Nix

AFM-Egg Pick Up today and I was so stressed and nervous. We got there half an early and let the receptionist know we were there. When it was half an hour past our book in time (waiting an hour) I got up to check again and DH was telling me to sit down and not be pushy.

Well I lined up again and it turned out she had completely forgotten we were there and it was a rush to get me admitted!

I had to tell that story because for once I was right about being pushy and DH wasn?t.
Anyway result was 11 eggs, I couldn?t believe it!!! I don?t think my FS quite believed it either. I was very impressed with my FS and highly recommend him to anyone. He made me feel at ease and his level of care is exceptional.

I am only now feeling like I have woken up, but I have to say I am in quite a bit of pain. My transfer will be on Saturday if fertilization goes well.

DH has been lovely, although I never thought I would say that it is difficult to stay on the couch and be waited on.

My FS has told me to take Monday and Tuesday off work as well which I wasn?t expecting. So I have a few days of RR which will be nice.

I can?t believe how different I am feeling emotionally compared to this time last week!

One more day and it is the weekend, hope you have all had a fabulous week.

How many times do I start with Wow! cos I've got loads of posts to read..and try and reply to all. Does anyone else, get so involved with reading what you've missed...and then when you come to the last post you're like...awwwwhhh I was enjoying that!

Sonya - you posted whilst I was typing. Congrats. great no.s and fantastic that you like your FS. fingers crossed, await your next post on fertilisation

Jilly - hi! my dh has had 3 tests and his motility and morphology has varied in all of them, some good, some not so. and the volume also, between 8mil and 130 mil!!! I had an IUI early in year and just had a 'feeling' nothing else, that it'd not work. So even though we'd planned to have 2 we only had one. I think because it's - got a 20% chance of success, our fs said it's the same chance as doing it naturally so I thought...well that hasn't got us far!! Each to their own...but I also hoped that one IVF would do it, and I'm on to my 3rd. good luck with whatever you decide.

mel - good no.s girl!! hope you had a good nights zzzzzzzzzz. great you told your boss. i felt heaps better when I told mine too.

Tracy - I'm sniffing too!!! I think it's affected a little more this time (i'm on synarel) more headaches...not quite as dizzy as last time(and I don't mean room spinning!).

nIx - like your plan..always love a plan, without trying to sound like the A-team! So you get an early BT, legitimate reason, a good day/night out, and you will hopefully be drinking the old mineral water allllllllll day and celebrating big style on the inside!! doing a little cos of good news. fingers crossed m'dear

Loops - bloody gov'ment!! Not happy with them this year that's for sure! My dh was telling me how expensive farming equipment is...good luck and hopefully it'll sell soon.

Meg - hi and no, I think it's the Aussie way to associate a cooler bag with a drink...only natural! As a naturalised Aussie, I found this one of the easier things to come to terms with. DH and I have commented a few times that we score some extra bags and ice blocks....bloody expensive ones but all the same!!
I am on synarel, but also gonal f so good luck with them injections. numbing the area with a good ice pack( i find the ones that are designed for sports injuries etc are more numbing than the traditional hard blocks) is great...you tend to not feel as much

AFM- well in- law went off to airport today..which meant an injection in the car - no worries. We were up at 6.30am..boo, to go to the airport, then went and bought a pair of non sensible cerise pink shoes with a great heel on them for a big party we're off to on Saturday. Haven't bought a non-sensible, not very comfortable, pair in ages. Dh now thinks he's on a promise having seen the shoes

I'm gonna leave you lovely ladies and catch up tomorrow. less than 2weeks and I've got EPU ..

    Nix76 - I'm here...lurking, you know me...i can't stay out of everyones business
helps make the time go faster....your BT is 2 days after mine..are you going to POAS?? When? and as for headaches..well everything our bodies have gone through could be anything. Maybe the progesterone support if you on any? or simply dehydrated.

Lise - when is your BT and when will you POAS ???

sonyalouise - whooohooo!!! 11 eggs! good girl!! Hope you get some beauties for ET!! and see the procedure was easy...but you can feel sore abit afterwards. But rest and get ready for ET!!!

Airline - the things we do.....

AFM - BT is in 6 Days ( maybe 5) !! I am calling nurses tomorrow to bring it forward 1 day, that would be Tuesday as I have a meeting at work that i cannot be late for on Wednesday...POAS!! well my last Pregnyl injection was on Tuesday night...with my IUI's the Pregnyl was in my system for 5 days so i think I will POAS ON SATURDAY, SUNDAY, AND MONDAY

    Everyone GL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Emerald - I'm l'natural this month so no prog support cos apparently my body will do everything it needs to by itself! I won't POAS as my BT is 4 days early as it is. .......Actually I do have a test in the cupboard that is only a month or so out of date so I might just give it a go on say Wednesday? I have a long cycle tho ... but did just work out AF would be due about Tues/Wed - so yes think I will POAS next Thurs morn!! I have everything possible crossed for you emerald - I hope this is it for you!

airline - you are right - I will either be the happiest ever drinking min H2O or drowning my sorrows in style! BTW - I like Krikkit's avatar "Cinderella is proof a good pair of shoes can change your life" - I hope that is the case for you. At least make it DH's night one night this week and have some fun tking your mind of TTC!

    Meg & airline - I don't get a cooler bag - must be a LD thing - I am intrigued sounds interesting!

Sonya - good numbers for your EPU - Hossam is great hey - he was my fill in got ET as you know. Where does he practice from - is it just at MIVF? Also is he Ob's aswell - if so do you know where he delivers? GL with ET - but you don't need it (for the procedure anyhow) - he is so good and reassuring.
Also re the BT 4 days early - from what i understood if it is neg it would be very unlikely that there is anything there or happening. However if it is pos she said I will still have to come back the following week for another BT. I guess it will all depend on the readings. Only 8 sleeps to go!

Lise - hope you are doing OK in the and Tracy I hope your sniffing is going OK.

Hi to everyone else - sorry I have missed some (i lost my post and had to type all this again!) I am now typing in notepad first - think that will be my new habbit from now on! Grr!

Smile Cycle #2 has Officially begun!!!!!

    Hi Ladies,

Just a quick one from me this morning as Im at work and really should be working hehehehe.

Sonyalouise ? Congratulations on your 11 eggs. Fantastic news. Fingers crossed for the coming days and for ET.

AFM ? Well I can officially say now that I am in Cycle #2 of IVF ICSI PGD (that?s a mouth full, try saying that 10 times fast lol). Sonyalouise, I only wish that I have started my FSH injections. Last night was injection number 1 of 10units Lucrin. Am already feeling a little headachy and will be sure to keep the water up as so to assist with easing the pain. So now all I have to do is concentrate on moving forward. Am to take my last OCP tomorrow night and then BT to check my levels are nice and low on the 15.10.09. Need to have AF though before we can start my FSH Injections so going by last cycle, am expecting AF to arrive on the 15.10.09 however, should she wish to arrive a little earlier she is more than welcome lol. Although, am hoping she behaves on the 16.10.09 as I have my little cousins wedding which is a formal dress code and so am hoping to be comfortable that day. Am also excited to have that first BT and to start my FSH. I?m curious to know what dose I will be on given that my first cycle was cancelled due to not getting enough eggs to even go through with EPU. Hmmm here I go wishing time away again!!!

Sorry for the no other personals but know that Im thinking of you all. Sonyalouise, I can only hope that this time we get 11 eggs as that?s a good number to have especially when like us, you are going through the ICSI and PGD side of IVF as well!!

Talk soon ladies, and know that I will still be kind of lurking with the occasional post on my progress.

Emerald- hope you have some good results tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. Not to mention Tuesday!

Motherhood- I hope you get 11 eggs as well, It was such a surprise because all the way through my FS was worried about my response, at the last scan I had 9 follies but only 4 that were a decent size. Even before going into the procedure my FS was preparing me for the fact out of this we may only get 5-6 and that all we need is one really good one.

As you know this is only the first step, now we need to wait and see how many fertilise and make it to a decent embryo.

Good to see you have started lucrin, I agree the headaches are dreadful, they are supposed to ease once you are on FSH but mine didn?t. I am celebrating today because I have energy and no headache!!!

I hope AF behaves herself on the 16th

Nix- I am not sure if my FS practices obstetrics but I will check that out, his main consulting room is at MIVF Freemasons and he also sees patients at the Epping satellite clinic which is where I first saw him.

Airline- Hope you and DH have a great night tomorrow!

AFM- Well waiting with bated breath for the phone call this afternoon about fertilisaton.

    It is almost the weekend!!!!

Nix ~ No I didnt realise the govt rebate ended at the end of the year - that's good to hear, thank you.
I think I had some cramping after ET but I suppose its hard to know whether that is from the procedure. A friend told me that period type pain after ET was a good sign for her when she got her BFP. I hope they are good signs for you. Try not to let it stress you too much. FX and GL

Meg76 ~ Hi and welcome. All the best with your 1st IVF cycle.

Lise ~ thanks heaps. Royal Jelly is supposedly good for fertility and a relaxer. I havent picked it up yet but apparently it tastes like crap. It has something to do with the Queen Bee and reproduction of bees. I think there is a thread about it on BB somewhere. Im very ignorant on it too but I like the fact that it was good for stress. Hope work keeps your mind off things - just dont work too hard.

Sonyalouise ~ thank you. Its good when us girls have a win over our DH's isnt it! LOL
11 eggs is fantastic - well done. I hope they all make it through - FX. GL today with the results.

Airline ~ thanks - yep it is very expensive. I wish we hadnt bought such a big tractor because that is another reason it is hard to sell - its too big for people.
We all have to splurge sometimes - Im not a shoe person but I certainly love to spend money . Getting excited for you for your EPU!!

Emerald ~ very exciting for you too, hoping its a BFP for you. FX

Motherhood ~ All the very best for this cycle - hoping you get lots of eggs. FX

Hi to anyone ive missed and I hope everyone is well.

    Good Afternoon Ladies,

I swear my boss if going to call me into his office one day soon and ask what BB is! Being naughty again and posting from work, he, he!

sonyalouise - Good for you for being pushy (not that I think you were!) and reminding the receptionist that you were there! I'm glad to hear that the EPU went well and 11 eggs.. what a fantastic result! I am so happy for you! I have all of my fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed that you get a good number to fertilise and make it to blast! Good Luck with the phone call today. PS: Thanks for asking about how the injections are going.. no major side effects to report- yay!

Motherhood here I come - Congratulations on starting another cycle - yay! I that you have good results this time round and get to do an ET this time with plenty left in the freezer! I started on the Lucrin at 10units as well and ending up with a nice big headache as a result! It did disappear though after I started the FSH.

Nix - I am with you... I am so conscious of every little cramp or twinge during the 2WW! I promised myself that I wouldn't do it last transfer and think that I was worse than the 1st one! I can only remember having craps after both of my transfers so Lots and lots of for you and I pray that you get your long awaited BFP! When are you due for your BT?

Emerald Star - I hope the 2WW is treating you well and lots and lots of to you! Can't be too long now until you can POAS - yay! I hope you are allowed to bring your BT forward one day .

Airline - My EPU is scheduled for Monday, 19 so just over a week to go - yay! Hopefully the next week and a bit goes quickly for us both... If I don't make it back onto BB before Monday, I hope you have a great time at the party on Saturday!

Lise - Thanks.. the injections aren't so bad so all good.... My DH sounds exactly like yours... we were at Ikea the other night and I just happen to walk into the kids section.. which just happened to have baby cots in it... and so DH went all mad at me and dragged me to straight through to the lighting section, he, he! I can't wait to hear your results and I that you get a nice BFP!

Meg - Good to hear that you have started on your journey! I get the cooler bags as well and so thought the same thing! In fact, my comment to DH was 'at least the cooler bag will be good for your 6 packs, he, he!' Good Luck with the injections and your 1st cycle .

Loops - So glad to hear that you had a great time at the Deni Ute Muster.. You can definitely add my selling vibes to the list! I hope you make that sale soon so that you can start another cycle...

Tracy - I hope your cycle is progressing well and that synarel is getting easier to take!

melttc - That is a great result and at only 100IU! Good Luck with the scan on Monday and I hope those follies grow nice and big and multiply with the increased dosage!

Jilly - My DH has a very low count (2million) and poor motility and morphology and our FS said that IUI wouldn't work for us... I guess if your FS is suggesting it than he thinks that you may have a chance of success... Ultimately, the decision is yours and you should do what you feel is best for you and DH.

Mitf - I am exactly like you and although I hope for a BFP, I like to plan ahead just in-case.... I will go straight into another stim if this one doesn't work out as well cause of the medicare thing. My FS did tell me the other day though that they have done the sums and if they are right, a stim cycle should cost approx. an additional $800 (It is now $7680 with ICSI).

A big hello to Juniper and anyone else that I may have missed!

AFM - Nothing much new to report.. just getting really bloated from the FSH so hopefully that means that my little ovaries are hard at work, bless them, he, he!

    hey girls

Ive enjoyed a couple non-stressing over TTC days. Spent the day at the horses yesterday
Ive made the decision to apply for a new job. Ive not been haapy in my current job for a while and kept putting it off, thinking well soon Ill be pg and can take maternity leave
The perfect position has presented itself now, so Ive applied and what will be will be.

Meg- Oh thats funny what the nurse said to you about the breezers, sounds like something I would say

Lise- as far as I understand the syneral stops the piturity glad regulating your hormones, hence allowing the other drugs to take over. Ive had to start it both times now on day 21 of cycle before IVF cycle

SonyaLousie -congrats on your eggs thats a great result hun. FX for a great result

Coral- at your boss calling you in to ask what BB is, dont worry he/she will probably check it out for themselves I hope those wee eggs are growing growing growing

AFM- nothing to report still sniffing lol. Thought AF was coming last night, had some spotting and its gone again Just waiting for it to show so I can start on my injections

    Red face confession

Ladies i have a confession to make

On tuesday night i had my last pregnyl shot...alittle later i took a HPT to see how dark the line would be so when i test i can see when it's out of my system...the line was there, faint but still visible, yesterday I POAS again and the line was slightly darker..i dismissed it thinking maybe the first one was a dud..well today i POAS again and the line was darker again..shouldn't it be getting lighter????

I am hoping that this is a sign that i might be pregnant and the HCG is getting stronger in my system Could this be possible??

My BT has been brought forward to Tuesday AM.

Someone give me some insight please!!! I'm going nuts!!! I knew i should have waited till Sunday!!

Sorry about the no personals but this has just got my head spinning....

Oh Emerald you poor thing - there would be nothing worse than that teasing! I can't help as I don't even know what pregnyl is and what its purpose is. I hope the other girls can help soon. If not I would be calling the nurses first thing tomorrow!! Hope its a BFP for you tho!!!

    Hi Emerald,

Can't really help either, the pregnyl is definitely still in your system but that the line gets darker coudl be a good sign, maybe ring your clinic to see what they say, keeping fingers crossed for you.

Also have a question for a friend of mine, are any of you from Adelaide and can you recommend a good clinic there? She didn't like Flinders much....

    Have a great weekend

Nix76 - thanks for your reply....the Pregnyl is a progesterone support like the Crinone gel..except it contains the pregnancy hormone HCG...statistically they say that for every 1000iu it takes about 1 day to leave your system, my dose was 1500iu and when i was doing my IUI's it took about 5 days to leave my system...5 days this time would make it on Sunday, this means that it could still be a false positive due to the pregnyl but why isn't it getting lighter on the POAS!!
I am so ****ed off that i POAS toooooo early. Now i don't know what to think...the only thing i can hope for now is that it just stays there till BT on Tuesday.

Why oh why didn?t I copy my post into word like I have been doing lately??? Got to the end and they?re fixing some technical problems!!!!!!!!! I like to think that post no. 2 is pretty close to the original, but secretly I never think it?s quite as funny?!

    Anyway, take 2:

Sonyalouise ? wow, 11 eggs, what a great result! GL tomorrow ? will be thinking of you. Make sure that DH spends all weekend pampering you

Airline ? what a woman, doing your injections in the car! A couple of times when I REALLY wanted to go out somewhere I was tempted to do it in the bathrooms but always decided against it. Have a fabulous time at the party tomorrow night ? and I want to see some photos of these new shoes ;-)

Emerald Star ? my BT is Wednesday 21 October, but AF is due the weekend before. She wasn?t late after my first stim cycle so if she hasn?t turned up by the Sunday before BT then I?ll POAS? Or is that too early??? I?m on Crinone, so not sure if that will effect the result or not. And you poor thing, what agony you must be in. I hope someone is able to answer your question for you soon.

Nix ? I?ll be counting down the days with you and praying you get a good result.

Motherhood here I come ? yay that you now can officially say that you are in Cycle #2 of IVF ICSI PGD!! Will be sending some AF vibes your way (I don?t think I?ve ever said that before!).

Loops ? thanks, I didn?t work too hard at all today! Going to be very difficult next week doing a full week but I?m sure I?ll find a way to get through it.

Coral ? I know what you mean! I tried to log onto BB today but so many people walked past me (I don?t have an office) that I gave up. And what is it with these DHs of ours?! I can understand the concern, but don?t they realise sometimes we just need a little hope???

Tracy ? thanks for the info on syneral. Will be sending some AF vibes your way also. Perhaps we can do a swap ? Nix and I can send AF to yourself and motherhood here I come!!

That?s it from me. I?ve got nothing new to report, though as I?m only two days past ET it?s probably a little early to start feeling pregnant?

Have a wonderful weekend all! No doubt I?ll be popping my head in to see how everyone is progressing.
