Juniper I looked up prednisone and feldene and prednisone is actually worse in pg (category D) and Feldene is cat C. No one left in Fs but I might try a pharmacy. Thanks again x
You can't stop prednisone cold. You need to gradually reduce your dosage over the course of a week or so. I took it for my last cycle.
I've never heard of a NSAID being prescribed for ivf. I've always been told not to take them at all :dunno:
Yes, good point, prednisone must be weaned off when the time comes, but I know a number of women (online) who have taken it the entire first trimester because they needed it. Perhaps the risks are associated with later stages? That's another thing the pharmacist could tell you.:
N2L, I'd always heard the same (ie avoid NSAIDs), but my FS has been prescribing Feldene for my IUIs (starting at 1dpo, from memory). I think the primary issue with NSAIDs is they can interfere with ovulation and prolonged use is linked to LUFS (lutenised un-ruptured follicle syndrome - where your body "ovulates" but the follicle doesn't actually rupture to release the egg), but there may be other issues. In some cases (eg endo), reducing inflammation can be quite beneficial. Since my FS also prescribes it with the prednisone/clexane combo, there may also be some way the three work together, of which I am unaware (and have been meaning to ask about)...

I am headed for egg collection tomorrow morning, after a shocking start to the cycle an increase of drugs and a couple more scans showed good progress so I am crossing fingers we get a decent amount tomorrow.

Hi everyone, I have been laying low a little lately but I have been stalking.
Mrs O M thank you for asking about me, my scan went ok but still not big enough so I had another scan yesterday and it was better but he decided to push pick up out to Wednesday. There seems to be only 5 follicles and only on the left side so who knows how many we will actually get and to think that is on the highest dose.

pg and I realised how much I really want another baby not sure i'm completely ready but with my age and the very real threat of early

I've got my scrape tomorrow, kinda feels like I am doing something. On another note, I found out DP's daughter, the one with 19 month out twins, is pg again. I don't think she knows we're TTC and with this last BFN cycle it's such a bad timing :(. I'm wondering if I should tell her we're trying? I don't want her to be in my face with her pg, any advice?
Sorry Miss B :( I guess telling her depends on if you want her to know....? Pros and cons either way... Personally I probably wouldn't, but that's just me. I prefer family to be out of it - wish I could take it all back and they didn't know. But if you think it will be too hard, then maybe you should.

Aw I'm sorry missb that is a tuff one! I'd probably tell her in the gist of telling her if u seem a little distant about the pg it's not anything bar u struggling with your own ttc journey. Either way it is hard if u don't tell her it won't change how you feel!
My friend (another one!) Came to me the other day freaking out she may have accidentally got prg! And saying that if she is she will definitely get abortion :-(.... And then asked me if I could take her up to get it done?! Me?! She knows we've been ttc nearly 3yrs now!
Afm I ended up jabbing the puregon instead of clomid this cy , heres to hoping lol. My DF is coming back for O time :-) yay!

Thanks rai xox , I nearly wanted to be sick when my friend told me about feeling prg and aborting! ... I'd only just jabbed myself with the puregon before she came... Ugh! And my other friend aborted hers the day after I found out I was going to miscarry, I had to look after her child while she did it :-(. It made how I felt about cruel life and losing our much tried for/wanted bub a million times worse!
I think I will have to explain to her that I can't take her there , too hard!
I just wish she didn't tell me or try to involve me at all!
What's your dosage of clomid rai?
It never worked for me until I upped the dose lol! But only got chemicals when I did.
I'm on 100iui of puregon ... Wonder how many eggs I will get...

Atm: have been spotting since I got my result last wk and had bright red bleed last night but it stopped as soon as it started. I've just done repeat hcg and have scan in morning. Feeling scared :(

Afm- thanks so much for all the supportive good luck, we got 14 eggies this morning much to my shock as considering my hormonal issues I would have been stoked with 5. However the sample dh provided was pretty average with low volume and morphology issues so the clinic made the decision to go down the icsi route and I got a call earlier saying they had successfully managed to inject all 14 eggs so fingers crossed we get some good news with fertilisation rates tomorrow. Juniper could you pop me in the waiting for transfer section? Thanks so much.
Thanks girls. My hcg has risen thank goodness - its went from initial read of 2984 to 14167 today. It's reassuring but will feel better after my scan.

Thanks for your well wishes ladies, the procedure went well, a bit sore now but hopefully I'll be be back to normal in a day or two. Thanks for your advice on OH daughter's pg, I will keep quiet I think. I'm surprised she's telling everyone at only barely 6 weeks and how she'd love to have two again. I'm certain my OH hasn't said anything to her about us trying, but I have told his other daughter whom I'm very close to and she promised not to tell anyone, however knowing that she's very close to her sister, I don't know if she's told her and that's why the pg one is just boasting about it (a bit excessive imho). Anyhoo, I am keeping my mouth shut, I will chose how much I want to be around her.

Bunnyfeet, hang in there lovely. It's so common to have spotting/bleeding in pg, still, I know it's pretty nerve wrecking so big hugs hun :hug:. The levels are rising very nicely so that's awesome!!

Good news for us, we had 10 of our eggs fertilise, so really happy. Hopefully we get at least 5 survive until day 5 as our clinic only transfers blastocysts.

I want to fall pg more than anything and would do anything I could to be able to fall pg but why why cant I find the motivation to lose
weight which would help me fall pg, seriously need motivation right now :duh:

Newbie here, DH and I learned yesterday that our best chance for success is with IVF due to low sperm count and motility. Appointment with FS tomorrow to discuss our options from here. Feeling nervous/excited/anxious/overwhelmed all at the same time. This TTC business is quite the rollercoaster ain't it? Also looking forward to my appointment tomorrow so that I better understand everyone.
Can anyone tell me how long the IVF process took for them? Maybe I could be asking Santa for a BFP? :dunno:

emma, I did steroids (prednisolone), aspirin, clexane as part of nkc protocol. but there's other meds (intralipids etc) that they might use depending on levels. not sure if its what got me a bfp, but it worked. best of luck. xx

Andie how long did you stay on that protocol? I've also got my bfp last wk while on same regime (plus Feldene) and just wonder how long other ladies stayed on it after bfp?
Emma, I was tested for NK cells last year (biopsy). Came back positive. The protocol I did for my last stim was meant to counter it - steroids, antibiotics, aspirin, estrogen patches, down regulation with synarel, intrapalid infusion, etc.
Most FS think it is BS though. There is also a school of thought that they are necessary to maintain a pg :dunno:
