Ali - I'm sorry you're having such a rough time lately. I definately think you tested too early so don't give up hope yet, you're still in there with a great chance. It sounds like it's your turn for some good luck.

Can anyone tell me why sometimes we do down reg cycles and others do flare cycles? I definitely would rather the quicker flare cycle next time if it's an option.

Ali – hope DD is feeling better. And also hope that you’ve got a dodgy pee stick and you get to prove it wrong with a BFP soon! Your symptoms sound promising!! As for your question about the cycles, I’m only guessing but I think people who don’t ovulate or have problems ovulating do down reg cycles? I had a look in the info that I got from the clinic and it doesn't say.

Sushee – only 4 more sleeps! Hope you’re doing ok. And Keen, wont be long for you either! Hope you’re both doing ok.

Wow Hayseed – your story about getting your drugs makes me feel lucky that I can get to the clinic & chemist in 30 mins or so. Glad it all paid off in the end for you.

Sal - Thanks for the info on Metformin. I may look into that. I was reading an article on the web today about acupuncture and IVF – has anyone tried acupuncture and do you think it has helped?

I popped by to see the good Dr today. He suggested that if I was up for it to start working on the FET straight away. Told him I’d feel better if I got straight back on the horse.. so to speak. So am starting on the progynova tonight. yay. 8-[

Hi Trish - progynova is oestrogen tablets and my info from the clinic states that it is used to build up the thickness of the lining of the uterus. Dr said that if I get a BFP I might have to stay on it for about 10 wks. I think I will also have to start some pessiaries at some stage too.
Is your cycle a natural FET?

my clinic uses estrogen tablets on medicated cycles too but different name I didn't know they were same thing -they also use Synarel from day 2 (to stop ovulation before lining is ready) and then progesterone pessaries for luteal phase after transfer.

I wanted to do medicated but at first said try natural - if my lining is not thick enough they will cancel and next cycle will do medicated

That is why I especially wanted to move on - so I know what I am up for with my lining.

Sush, Keen and Ali - :hug: for you all. I'm thinking of you and have my fingers crossed for the best results. Ali, I've come to the conclusion that peesticks don't know what they're made for. I used those special early ones and this was more than ten days past transfer and still negative. Shows how much they know. Also hope your little one is feeling better.

Blue - Yep, I did acupuncture ... I think I might have posted about this only recently because someone else asked, but yes, I can recommend it. My doctor is in support of it too (he actually refers people to my acupuncturist) so it makes me think he's noticed something about it being a help to people on assisted conception programmes. Definitely worth a try. If you're interested, please email me and I can tell you more.

Yay, I finally have some news to tell. Saw my Doc and he said I may as well use up my snowbub before starting a stim cycle. So roll on AF!!!!!!

I hope my embie survives the thaw as I have no backup but have to give it a shot. I don't want to be a pin cushion if I don't have to.

Hay - Thanks for the info re: the progesterone. I am on the Crinone 2 x daily. I now have enough to last me up to the BT. Should you wean yourself off them? (might sound a pretty dumb question!)

Ali - Like you I have really really sore BBs.... hope for both of us it is not a side effect of the Crinone. I honestly think that 7dpo IS way to early despite what the tests say - I think you'll just have to wait and test again - no earlier than 10dpo I think (minimum).

Humphrey - totally understand the desire to jab! It means your on your way again! Good luck tomorrow. FINGERS CROSSED for your little Snowbubs too!

Ive had cramps and twinges and OHHH the sorest bbs in the world... and have not succmbed to any POAS (well der only had transfer 4 days ago! - but still...). Desperately hoping to be successful with DH getting more and more excited as the days go on - would especially hate to disappoint him. Want to be able to do this for him SO badly.

Ali, i read that only 5% of women get BFP's at 7DPO. Some women don't detect until after AF, it all depends, especially depends on how long until implantation took place. It's still early days yet & as you've seen, some LT TTC'ers haven't had a BFP on a pee stick at all before BT, but are pg. Symptoms sound like a good sign to me, I was getting some symptoms from 7DPO & my first official BFP was late on 10DPO. Everyone's symptoms are different too, but sore BB's sounds like a good sign to me.

Keen, wow cool, u've got symptoms too, awesome. So u being 4 DPT, does that mean 9 DPO (4 days past transfer + 5 day blasts)?

Shell - Um yeah I think thats right 4 dpt + 5 day blast is technically 9dpo. I think actually if you work it out Ali, Sush, you and I would all be due around the same week...

Hi all you fabulous women...I stopped posting here and went to TTC..but I really need some advice from you all...I have made an initial appt at the fertility specialists and would like to know what to expect, how intrusive etc....isn't until Oct so have ages to agonise over it!!! just an update !!

i took myself off to a herbalist/accupunturist / chinese medicine people today ( i have been to them before about my ****y knee and after i MC last year) basically we talked about my cycles and whether what we did last time had any benefit regarding Ivf this time round thankfully i have charted my cycles since i did IVF last sept so nearly 12 months of charting proved that things are heading on to the up side of norm !!!! they said theat accupunture at this stage would be of no benefit and treated me for stress and did accupunture on my knee and ankle instead then the hearblist put me on mineral salts 3 times a day and i have to go back next week very interesting and i feel so much better about everything :D

well at our first appt, we did mainly talking about cycles and taking history i had an internal ultra sound to make sure every thing was were it should be and both DH and myself had full blood work ups done and that was about it DH didn't have to have a Sperm anylisis done as his had a vasectomy and that was about it hope that helps :) just take every day as it comes you'll be fine :D

Shazz - Glad to hear the session at the herbalist went well. It always feels good to be doing something I think. Anything you can do to take back some mastery over the situation always helps your feelings.

Janee - You will feel so much better after seeing the specialist because you're on the way to working out what's going on. I felt immediately much better psychologically. I was so relieved that finally something was being done and I didn't have to keep having intercourse at a certain time of the month and hoping for the best. I hope it all works out for you.

Humphrey - Good luck with this FET! Hope the frosty is a robust little specimen and sticks like glue!

Keen, regarding weaning yourself off progesterone....

whne I was using the Crinone, none of my pregnancies worked (nothing to do with the Crinone tho), so I stopped cold turkey when AF arrived or I had to have a D&C (actually just before the D&C when we found out the pregnancies stopped). But for last pregnancy (Thomas) I was on the pessaries until about my 14th week. I did stop cold turkey, but only after I had HEAPS of reassurance from Nick L that supplementary progesterone later in pregnancy doesn't do anything much as the placenta is making quite enough of it on its own.

So I guess that as far as weaning yourself off, then no, you don't have to do that, as hopefully the placenta will take over. It seems to be very important for some women - some included in here no doubt and myself included - to have extra progesterone early on in a pg, and that includes when you are not sure that you are pg (after transfer for instance, or following a +ve blood test very early on). I would then stick to the dose you have been prescribed and be religious about it!!!

Just a comment about Crinone vs pessaries, I'm not sure that one is better than the other in terms of effectiveness, but the pros of the Crinone is that it doesn't leak out but the cons are that it is hideously expensive if you have to buy it yourself. The pros and cons of the pessaries are the reverse. Crinone can also be sent via courier to a chemist, but pessaries are more widely available. But I have no opinion on whether one sustains a pg better than the other. Personal choice (of both the dr and yourself) I guess.

I have been so incredibly tired. The puregon always does that to me, but at this high a dose I feel like I am sleeping or resting 24 hours a day. Had to come and check on you all but there is no way of doing personals as you all post way too much for me to keep track.

As for me I had another scan yesterday. I have 8 follies over 11mm and a bunch under 10mm My dose has been upped yet again and Its hitting me hard this morning. Very uncomfortable I am. I will have another scan on monday but the nurse said this would be my last one and my OPU will be next wednesday/thursday and the ET will be friday/saturday.

I am excited, scared and nervous all rolled into one!!
