Looking for advice on my first OB/GYN appointment.

I have my first appointment with an OB/GYN next monday and I have no idea what to expect at it. I have my referral from my GP with all my BT results on it for the gynae. I'm a little scared about going but also happy that I am finally doing something about TTC. My DF and I have been TTC now for just over 2 years and we have had 2 MC and now nothing seems to be happening for us. Guess I just want to know what usually happens at your first appointment and what should I expect to happen there.
Thank you for reading and a huge thank you if anybody can give me a bit of a heads up on what to expect next Monday.

    Hi,
I've moved your thread into the general LT TTC area so members can respond to your general query about what to expect.
If you want specific infomation about a doctor, pls post again in the recommendation forum and members can PM you with info.

    Thanks,

Thank you Marcellus I wasn't sure about where to post it. Not after anything about the DR I have chosen really more wanting to know what to expect at me appointment.
    Thanks again.

    HI Clairesmummy,

At our first appointment, our gyno asked a lot of questions about my cycle etc, I had an ultrasound (internal) and he sent us both for blood tests and my DH for semen analysis (even though our GP had already done these tests)
It was pretty short and sweet really and I was just so happy that we were finally doing something!
    Good luck!!

Thanks Glenny I guess I am just a bit overwhelmed by the thought of what may happen and what I think should happen if you what I mean. I have no idea what to expect should I take my cycle charts with me, I have been temping now for the past 5-6months. I have AF now so she will definately be gone by the time monday comes around, maybe I should write all my things down while I remember them about my cycles ect. I have all my BT results for him and DR put on referral that I have secondary amenorhea but now I have AF so I'm guessing that should not be a problem now.

I'd bring a print out of your charts for those cycles too. Best of luck. Not much happens during that first appointment, although my ob/gyn/fs spoke about sending me for either a lap or a hsg.

I would take it all, they might say they don't want to see it but best to take it and be prepared I think. Amenorhea might still be an issue if your cycles are very long. I actually found that my specialist didn't really look at what my GP had written, he preffered to check it all out himself.

As PrincessXanthe said as well, be prepared that they may want to discuss more invasive testing such as lap surgery etc. ( I had it all- really not that scary!)
