Thanks Babysteps :) Good to be back!
Hi Babysteps!! It's aweful isn't it........waiting around! I was a very impatient person before I started with the clinic...........how things have changed! My blood test is on the 9th! I had a very faint positive on my IUI # 1 however blood test was negative. It was a very good lesson for me NOT to do a HPT. I won't be doing it this round that's for sure. I'm just counting each day down!! I've got symptoms.....dizziness, very sore nipples.....however this time I know that's the pregnyl injections kicking in so i just have to keep everything crossed until the 9th! Good luck with 3rd!!! :)
Hey girls!
I had my appointment with my FS this morning and then the QFG nurses and start my FSH tomorrow.
The next thing will be my ultra sound which happens next friday.
Very exciting!

Good luck with your journey Sue! All the Best !!
Thanks B2B!! You toooooooooo!

Good luck Sue and Shades........ Fingers crossed for all my fellow TWWers!!!!!
Im hating this TWW...... But at least im back at work and soooooo busy i can't think straight let alone think about being pg or not LOL!!!!!! Im tired but i think thats cos i have done some long days and the heat OMG last night our house was 35 degrees cos the stupid a/c only blew warm air ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Anyway have no real signs if AF isn't here on Wednesday ill test on Thursday so only 6 more sleeps......
Well I had a BT this morning and I'm expected to have IUI on Mon (CD15) but I'm concerned that they won't have done any U/S beforehand - only another BT on Sun... Situation explained more fully on my blog... advice??
Hi Shades. My 2nd cycle was a little late and I ended up having a blood test and ultrasound on the friday (day 17), got a call that afternoon to take my trigger and I was in for the IUI on the Saturday (day 18). That was my only ultrasound for the cycle! My nurses completely run my cycle.....with the drugs I don't think you can ovulate until they tell you you are going to ovulate!
I just read your blog Shades not 100% sure about what you are doing with the drugs etc.. BUT if i were you i would ask for an U/s on SAt and then b/t Sunday as you had planned.. Not much point doing the IUI if there are no follies and what you are paying for the sperm they should listen to you.... My clinic won't do a IUI without a scan i go to a imaging place to get it done then go to them with the results..... Good luck working it out.......
Thanks for the help ladies :)
Baby2Bee - all I'm on is FSH (occasionally a trigger) but nothing that would stop me ovulating if I was ready... I'm more worried about the fact that there's no U/S planned prior to the IUI so how will they know if there are any follies??
Janeo - I'm thinking you're right about that being the way to go... I hadn't actually thought about getting an independent U/S - I don't think I would get the results in time, but most (if not all?) the FSs at my clinic have portable machines in their rooms... I'm sure they can find someone to check out my bits :P
I think I'll call tomorrow - thanks for the sounding board :) Sometimes I just get stuff running around in my brain and I just need to get help to simplify it!
Hey shades, give them a call in the morning and ask if it's ok to do it without the ultrasound.
Given that the sperm and other costs are not cheap, they should be making sure the timing is right.
Good luck!
Hi all
Janeo - you should come into the TWW forum.
Thinking of everyone TTC - hope 2009 is the year for everyone.
AFM - Waiting, waiting, waiting and trying not to get hopes up too much.
Take care:pray:
Grr - my FS receptionist isn't in today, and the clinic nurse I spoke to said they can't override the doctors/they don't have access to U/S machine/I shouldn't worry because not all docs use U/S anyway/blahblahblahcompletelackofhelporreassurance.
I could have sworn women on FSH were supposed to have every second day U/S to monitor follicular activity in case of overstimulation???
Shades, I'm on FSH and don't have an ultrasound booked until next friday.
I don't think that it is the case to have every second day U/S? Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just a newbie.
S X
Shades, I always did scans around day 9 and then every couple of days until follies were about 1.8mm or more. I've never done a cycle without them - IVF or IUI. On FSH I usually ovulated around day 12 - day 16-18 on break cycles.
If you're not getting the support/service you need from your clinic, choose another. Not sure where you live and whether this is poss for you, but I'd consider it. When we switched out one clinic for another, we were immensely satisfied with the new program. And quite justified in the end too.
Good luck to you!
OP.
OP - I'm hesitant to change FS or clinic because I know I'm very lucky in that my FS doesn't have a problem putting it through Medicare as infertile (even though as a single I'm just 'socially' infertile), and I paid nearly $500 registration for the clinic :( I have been contemplating switching within the clinic but I need to do some more research I think...
Sue - my mum's suggested the every 2nd day U/S might be a butt-covering tactic on the part of the medication manufacturer, so they may not be essential.
Quick question - when on FSH, can anyone actually feel any movement in their ovary area?
I swear there is a "tightness" happening. Or is that just me imagining it?
Thanks so much!
Sue, definitely. You should feel the normal ovulation sensations only amplified. Sounds like situation normal!!
OP.
Hehe, thanks so much for that OP.
I was hoping someone would say that. I thought it might have just been a bit of wishful thinking!
Fingers crossed for friday and my U/S which will show how effective this has all been.
S X
Sue - imagine what it's like with IVF where they're trying to develop MANY follicles. You get ALL the sensations, plus a biiiiigg belly.
For you, I'd say you're looking for 1-3 follies to develop. At full maturity they will be 2cm each, so don't be surprised if your pants are a bit tight on ovulation day.
Good luck!
:-)
OP.
OP, that is exactly what we are aiming for.
My Dr wants 2 but he would be ok with 3. I'm doing visualisations every night for 3. hehe.
If I get more follies than we are aiming for, he said something about turning it into an IVF cycle so either way, we win.
I'm so excited for my u/s on friday!

Hi All. Just checking in. 9 days post IUI....blood test next Monday! 6 sleeps to go! Different symptoms to last cycle. Last cycle was a lot of AF pain and some nausea. This cycle is hunger and VERY VERY VAGUE!!!! Gotta love Pregnyl!! When you have had an IUI, how long after the procedure will (you are going to laugh at this because i can't remember the term!!! I'm really thick at the moment) the egg and 'little soldier' meet?? If they meet at all?? Is it the same 7 - 10 days with a normal cycle?
They should meet within 24 hours of ovulation (the life of the eggie). Then they implant within 7-10 days.
On the implantation and meeting note... I am finally back (BB wasn't letting me log in the couple of times I tried) and I have news! Although not an IUI cycle, I can firmly say I LOVE MY NATUROPATH!!! I got my :bfp: last Wednesday and am officially 5 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow! Just gotta cross everything because now I'm becoming paranoid about miscarrying.
Anyway, had to share my good news - for anyone out there who hasn't tried naturopathy and whose main difficulty is ovulation - give it a go - and certainly you (if you're not already) should all chart your cycles - what a wealth of information!
Anyway, that's my excitement. Sending :bluedust: and :pink-babydust: to everyone.
Oh, FYI, no major symptoms of pregnancy except cramping. Am starting to feel some mild nausea.
WannabeMum, congratulations!!! That is wonderful news!

WBM - Congrats! A dream come true!!!!
Wonderful news Wannabemum! wishing you the happiest and healthiest of the next 9 months! You may want to think about changing your username sometime too ;)
WannaBmum ... congratulations darl, what an exciting day for you .... you need to change your name to "goingtobmum" xxx congrats again ... wonderful news
Congrats WBM!!! :leap: :cheer:
Thanks guys - it's pretty good news, all very quiet so far - I've given up playing baseball after the weekend. Not too worried about getting hit (all the guidelines say you can play through the first trimester) but it was so hot I'm worried about overheating.
We'll be telling the fam in a few weeks.
And, yes I should change the username to GonnabeMum!
Thanks for all the support on here, it's kept me sane at times. And thankyou for all your happy wishes - there's a lot of excitement in my house at the moment :D
WannaBmum an absolutely massive CONGRATULATIONS!!!
i am officially over this stinking 2WW!!! and I've still got 5 sleeps to go!!!! If I get a BFN after my blood test on monday I'm going to get the biggest Gin & Tonic I can get my hands on and slam it down fast!!!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!! hahahhahahaha!!!
Awww, B2B, big hugs babe.

WBM - congratulations!!! That's wonderful news! I too am a big supporter of the naturopathy - I honestly believe it was the key for me too.
On the worry thing - you can't help it but try not to let it wind you up too much. Keep an eye on your Prog levels, and if they're low, talk to your naturopath about Vitex. It was prescribed to get me to 12w successfully. I think (from memory) you already take Vitex???
So pleased for you - see, this IUI thing DOES work!
:-)
OP.
My ultrasound has been put off till Saturday morning now and not tomorrow.
Another day to wait.:wall::wall::wall:
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!:wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wal l:
Aww hang in there Sue...
WannabeaMum - CONGRATS!!!!!
I have just heard your fantastic news and i am over the moon for you. I am so glad that natropathy worked for you and you finally got your BFP.
All the best for a happy and healthy pregnancy
One nice big fat follie ripe and ready to go!!!!
YAY!
Trigger HCG tonight at 8pm.
IUI procedure 8am Monday morning!!!
I'm so happy with that result.
YAY!! Best of luck with Monday's IUI!! Do you have to give yourself the trigger?? I don't envy you that!
Yeah, I do need to give myself the trigger.
I'm ok with that though. Needs must. I've been doing the puregon for the past week or so and this needle isn't that much bigger.
It's all gooooooooooood!
:D
I've just had my final blood test......I'm trying to remain positive! It's hard to remain even when the nurse handed me a booklet on early pregnancy!!! you don't want to get your hopes up!! phone call in a few hours will clear all that up for me!!!
