Hi all,
Sal79 - everyday is one day closer for your bt. :noaf: here please
Murraycod - good luck this month. Every month is a new one and a good chance of a BFP
AFM - Went to the FS and was told that DP has a motility problem but everything else is ok. So basically I was told that we have very little chance with our age of anything working. Just love those stats  So we have little but better chance with IVF and even less chance with IUI. But like I was told you just need one sperm. But then have of course we have a greater chance of mc.
Was wondering if anyone knows what are the chances of IUI with low motility.??
Anyway am now waiting for AF to arrive.
Wishing everyone loads of :bluedust::pink-babydust: and :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:
Hi Jilly,
Sorry to read of your problems, but please hold on to hope.
I have been told that stats for IUI are anywhere from 6-20% with IUI, depending on the infertility issue though. DH and I have no diagnosed problem, but are on our third IUI this month with no success yet. Im 29 and DH 35.
We too are heading to IVF in January if the next 2 IUI's don't work. 4yrs TTC has been a long and rough road, as it is for everyone I guess.
I had my Day 10 ultrasound yesterday to see how my eggies are reacting to the Puregon this month...............not the greatest of news, I have 5 follies all at 10mm, so have to have anoth scan on Monday. If all of them keep growing they are going to cancell the cycle, which will completely devistate me. But last month I had 2 follies and one didn't keep growing, so I'm hoping thats the case again.
I just want one or two BIG FAT JUICY ones.............not 5 little ones :wall:
Hi :)
jilly - sorry to hear about the motility problems. What has the FS recommended? I'm not sure about the stats for IUI with motility issues, but I know it's likely to be more successful if there are no tubal or sperm issues. GL with whatever you decide to do.
murraycod - five follies! That's your ovaries doing too good a job! I'll be praying for you on Monday that two have charged ahead and left the others behind.
AFM - two days until end of 2ww, three until BT. Only symptoms are sore and large BBs and slight nausea. My last pregnyl was on Sunday night so I'm hoping they are my symptoms and not because of the injection. Anyway, I'm doing lots of social things between now and Monday so I can (try) keep my mind off it. Yeah, good luck with that!
Have a good weekend.
-Sal
Sal I wishing you all the best hun that you get good news in a few days X Iv'e never had nausea from the Pregnyl, and your last inj was almost a week ago, so hope that is a good sign for you. Does it feel different this time??
Normally I can pretty much tell if worked or not by this time in the TWW.
:pray::pray::pray: Good Luck X
Hi girlie girls,
Just wanted to pop in let you all know that this will be the last cycle of IUI for me.
My scan wasn't great today, still have 5 eggies and only at 13mm.
Also have quite a huge number of smaller ones on each side.
FS thinking PCOS.
Will have more Puregon untill anoth scan on Thurs, but don't think a mirracle is going to happen. 90% cancelled cycle.
I will drop by and let you all know how it goes, but it's the last cycle for me.
Will be moving to IVF in January, take care to everyone, and thank you for all of the support shown to me, you have all been great.
I hope there are many BFP's to come in this thread, goodluck to everybody trying, fresh babydust sent your way XXXXX
Jilly : To be honest, as I think your FS was with you, however I know how hard it can be to digest all the information they give you in one 15 minute sitting.
My FS told me that IUI alone gave me a 1-2 % more chance of becoming pregnant instead "al la natural', with each IUI. (My DH has no problems with his swimmers, our problems are AMA) However the FSH, give me more of a chance, as I know I am releasing a timed egg.
So my advice to you, if your not ready to try IVF, is to keep trying, with IUI and timed intercourse, and you never know, at least if you are active in charting your cycle, and having timed BD you have given your egg every opportunity to catch the swimmer.
This is my plan for next year if IVF continues to dissapoint, timed BD with an appropraite dose of FSH each month, to keep the wheels in motion, at least I know I am giving myself every opportunity, and I am stimulating my egg to release
What is the FSH dose for your next cycle ?
I'm out. Cramping started Sunday night and AF arrived on schedule on Monday morning. DH and I have been miserable for two days. Have been quite devastated. We move onto IVF next and have FS appt booked for next Monday. GL to everyone in here, I'll be keeping track of your progress! Thanks for all of your support. It has really helped.
-Sal
I'm sorry AF showed up Sal,
good luck with the IVF venture my darling X
Meet you in the other thread real soon XXXXXX
Dear all,
Sal79 - So sorry that it did not work. It is just not fair. We go through so much. There is hope, anticipation, then bammm disappointment. We tell ourselves every month not to get our hopes up but how couldn't we. Good luck with IVF I really hope this works for you. I will miss you and Murraycod here. Thank you for all you support and advise.
Murraycod. Fingerscrossed for tomorrow. 10% chance is still a chance. I know how frustrating it is with a cancelled cycle.
WLAB - Thanks so much for your kind words. You are so right. I think we will try IUI then decide. Trying to do it naturally seems the go as with my AMA there is as much chance of it happening that way as with IVF or IUI.
Can I ask what does BD mean. I know what it is but can't work out the actuall words.
AFM - Still waiting for AF to arrive. I am always either 28 to 30 days and now it is past that. No chance of being pregnant though so must be late due to stress or something.
:hello: and Good luck to everyone else
Thanks for the kind words Jilly,
I will miss you too.
Goodluck with IUI treatment babe, I hope you find great success and not too far around the corner.
Today I can't even sit properly I have quite strong pain in my right groin area, which is where the majority of these eggies are, but tomorrow will tell!
Take care hun and good luck XX:hug:
BD meand Bed Dance by the way :)
Hi to everyone here.
Murraycod. Hi - How did everything go. Did you do IUI in the end?? Am dying to find out. We have been away so not sure what is going on.
Sal79 - How are you doing. Are you definatly doing IVF next year?
AFM- AF finally arrived and have started on Gonal-f 225iu. Just had my 6 day BT and estrogen rising so scan and BT on Monday.
Hi Jilly,
We're not sure about next year yet. Our FS thinks that we may have been having multiple miscarriages this year (3 +ve HPTs in 6 months) so we're having more tests done. Best case scenario is treatment (clexane and aspirin) and another IUI before the year is out. Next best is trying IVF in early 2010, worst case is not being able to have children. Results should be back within a few weeks hopefully. I'm trying not to worry about it and am enjoying having a month off TTC.
Good luck with this cycle. I'll be praying for you...
-Sal
Jilly goodluck for this month hun X
I had my IUI done on day22 of my cycle.............rediculouse I know!!!
1 follie at 25, 1 follie at 19, so fingers and leggs crossed again! Last try, IVF in Jan-Feb.
Sal wishing you good results comming your way soon XX Goodluck with everything X
Take care all X
Sal79 - Good luck with your results. I suppose it is good to know that at least you have fallen pregnant. Enjoy your few weeks. Have loads of pate, soft cheeses and vino :)
I am :pray:ing for the best case scenario of course. How good would it be if all you had to do was to take asprin and clexane.
Murraycod- Oct 20 must be a great day to fall pregnant. I say this cause my DD was born on that day. She is now 3. I will be thinking of you as you wait. :goodluck: and wishing you loads of :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy: and :bluedust: :pink-babydust:
Thanks Murrycod
unfortunately this time I have no good news no uf but the reason for that was I have have 3 cystis on my overies so I cannot go again this year and my clinic shuts down for christmas break. I will have to have a rest on this time and wait for next year dr told me due to I have three antaginist cycles one after the other with no break has probly caused them I was very angry that everyone was telling me what I could and could not do:shakehead: but I guess they are only looking out for me... I am yet to read everyone elses postings as I have been a bit self indulgent and having a couple of good cry's
I hope you all are going fantasic and time to time I will read everyones good news I hope  that you all have good news till next year then...
best of luck
Thank You Sal XX
LUCIE sorry to hear your news babe, look at it this way, enjoy the christmas holidays, get tipsy at new year and allow yourself to enjoy the break from all of this X
I know it is involuntary, but should be mandatory for all of us at some point, I know I'm becoming psychologically exhausted, so take care and hope to hear from you in the new year sweetheart XX
Hi ladies,
Dp and i are planning to give iui another try before moving onto ivf.we did iui early 2008 with no succss.we have been ttc for nearly 5 years and the only pregnancy we had (it was natural) was 3.5 years ago, m/c a week after getting bfp.i have appointment with gp to get referal on monday and hopefully see FS in the next couple weeks
Hi all
I have lurked in here a little and posted in here maybe once before but Im getting ready to make my debut into the thread.
My name is Eliza, DH & I have been TTC#1 since 2007 and as of Monday we're starting to go through the process of IUI. We fell pregnant naturally in Feb this year m/c @ 7weeks. I had a laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy in July this year and found I had endometriosis which had been cut out and now been TTC since then with no avail and all attempts with :bd: at the right times, fertile CM etc etc etc..
I havent had a consult about it all just yet so I dont know all the names of things etc but I thought I would follow Murraycod as I have been chatting in the TTCAML thread for a little bit now.
Feeling nervous about taking the plunge on doing this, and I have some questions I need answered, but for now, just wanted to introduce myself.
Hope you're all going well
xx
hi i am new here and currently doing IVF after 4 failed IUI attempts
just interested has anyone had any experiences of IUI actually working as my experiences found it to be a total waste of time not to mention money
I have unexplained infertility and though chances should have been a lot better
Hiya. IUI has worked for me - I have 2/3 success rate... ! However, I'm just hoping that my 1/1 miscarriage rate doesn't continue with this pregnancy......
very good luck ladies, wishing you all the best :grouphug:
we may not be able to do iui next month after all. i found out i have pelvic inflammatory disease again so may be too risky to do iui
Sorry to hear that Trubabe, I do hope you get sorted XXXX
Coco my darling I still lurk here evey now and then to see if any of the IUI girls I met have any good news to share!X
There are heaps of girls with success stories for you to hear, and plenty of experience to share around. I myself found this thread very very quiet past few months, and hounded the girls in the LTTTC TWW thread instead when I was going mad, they are a great bunch over there so make sure you visit them when you are in your TWW.
As I have said before, I do wish you all the very best wishes for you IUI journey, and you know where to find me if you need any question answered X;)
Londonmiss cheers hehehe! I did what I promised tonight, but not newyears yet:shhh:
Hi Folks,
Long time no post for me. Just wanted to say for the poster that asked, yes, IUI does work!! It's important to check the stats for your age group and your fertility issues though, to make sure it's a suitable process. There is no worse feeling than investing time, money, emotion and physical wellbeing and getting nowhere.
I did five IUI treatments in 2008 using donor sperm (my DH is all but sterile). We used the White Protocol with Puregon to stimulate every first cycle and some luteal support for 3rd and 4th attempts. Other than a trigger injection, the 5th cycle was drug free and we hit the jackpot.
A close friend also conceived her baby through donor IUI, as did a neighbour. I think it was early this year that another poster, Shades, also conceived through IUI. For my age group, the success rate is 9.1% - I am 41. Those odds were better than IVF for me (which was 7.2% - far below the stated 30% chance the IVF doctor gave me).
We have just returned for a second go and I'm in the TWW with four days to go. AF is due Boxing Day and I am convinced there are signs already that she will not turn up!
Big cheers all you ladies and dare I say baby dust to you all.
OP.
:crossfingers::hello:
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forums and about to be new to IUI and looking for some support, info and sharing from others. From what Ive read so far this place looks jam packed with strong wonderful women and I hope I can add to the mix of support.
A bit about me..
We have been TTC for 18 months and I am getting very blue about it all. Have had a dye scan to check tubes open and all good, have had hormones checked and all good and have been tracking a few cycles with scans on about days 12 or 13 to see what the follicles are up to and so far they have been behaving but no luck yet! :wall:
So the next step is revving up for IUI, have appt on 28th Jan. I dont know much about it yet, but Im sure I will learn fast!
I hope to travel this journey with you and am crossing everything for :crossfingers: lots of luck in this new year and decade!
Emma
Hi All,
Welcome BK2US! Do check back over previous threads as we were all firing big time January 2009.
We got a BFN on Xmas Eve. Surprising as we weren't expecting a result until Boxing day. We had great Day 21 progesterone results and some other typical symptoms and thought we'd get a BFP. Not to worry. We'll skip a turn in January owing to our clinic being closed for holidays. We are yet to decide if we'll go for it in the Feb cycle. I'm planning to return to work and start my son in day care at the same time, so we already have much on our plate to deal with. And my DH has some new health challenges we have to sort out.
I'll drop in now and again though to see how you're all doing.
Cheers,
OP.
Welcome bekindtoyurself ( i love oroginalP's shortened version!)
You will find many many amasing women here, plenty of guidance and support. So glad you found BB X
The LTTTC assist conception thread is the place you want to lurk and join in if you like, there is more going on in there, and the girls are great.
Many are doing IUI, and actually heaps of success stories at the moment! So join in on the action!XXX
Hope to see you there XX
Hi There ladies and thanks for your kind notes welcoming me :)
Unfortunately I cannot access that thread, it says that I need to post 200 times before I have access :(
This is really dissapointing as I cant see another thread that is relevant to me for me to be able to post 200 times first, frustrating.
I also had a warning email from the mediators that worried me so much when I saw the email and then i saw it was because my signature was centred!! I changed it but why send a threatening looking "Warning" email for such a small thing.
All I was looking for was some support during a difficult time and I feel like the Belly Belly site has excluded me and let me down.
Best of luck to you all as I dont think I will be able to make use of this site.
take care everyone:grouphug:
bekindtoyourself, I'm really sorry if you've been made to feel anything less than welcome.
Please hang on, I'm going to try and get to the bottom of the thread access problem - there should be no reason you need 200 (!) posts to access an open thread. I presume you mean one of these:
LT TTC & assisted conception
LT TTC two week wait
...?
Thank you Marcellus for the reply, but for some reason those forums you posted in your message didnt show up in the forum overview when I was first looking.
The thread I was trying to access was LT TTC & Assisted Conception Vent Forum, and I wasnt sure why that forum needed 50 (not 200) posts before access was allowed.
I think I am just very emotional and so when it wasnt easy to use your forums I lost heart quickly Im afraid.
Thank you for your reply and I may use the threads you listed.
Emma
Ah, I see. Glad you've decided to give us another chance :)
Just FYI, the vent forum is a closed forum and to protect users' privacy we like to get to know members better for granting them membership. It's a trust thing - so members can feel safe posting about themselves.
Any questions or problems, you can post in here, or contact a moderator.
I'll but out again now :). Good luck everybody
Hiya BKTYS
You know, it is easy to get offended in here. The whole time I was posting I was busting to put a ticker on my signature. As soon as I got my BFP I put one on. Then got told to take it off as it was offending other posters!!! I also got told not to discuss my BFP in this thread anymore!!! I went and sat in the toilet at work and cried, I was so hurt.
Never the less, here I still am. Just focus on talking to your fellow posters and getting the support that you need. Yes you might be sensitive right now, and that's totally fine. It's good to recognise and remember, if you think it's getting on top of you, talk to someone who can help.
Big cheers,
OP.
Hi all.
It has been a while since I posted in here. I hope you are all well and had a great start to the New Year.
BKTY- I hope that you don't give up on BB. I know sometimes it can be impersonal but that is just such a small part. And of course when it is written and not spoken words can be taken in so many ways. Good luck in your TTC.
OP. Great to see you back. I have read back and found that you are an absolute wealth of information. I have tried IUI twice and the second time in December ended at 5 weeks. My advanced maternal age (as I keep getting told) is of course a huge factor- 44.
But don't feel that old even though my eggs are. Anyway we were of course happy that IUI worked be it only for a short time when we were told we had very little chance.
I was wondering if you could please post what vitamins etc are great for trying to concieve.
I don't have any problems other that age. In fact my FSH is great - generally around 3 or 4. DP has a quantity problem but otherwise ok.
We have a slightly better chance we have been told with IVF but think might want to give IUI another shot.
Does anyone know how much more we will have to pay this year??
Also OP was wondering are you giving IUI another shot??
Cheers
Jilly sweetheart so sorry that your little bean didn'tstick XXX
As you can see, have moved on to IVF, we gave IUI 3 shots with no success, now I am due foe EPU on Monday afternoon and I am sooo nervouse!! And Excited!!!!
Anyway, no matter what you decide to do next, keep in touch and good luck XX
Bekindtoyourself Darling OriginalP is right X It is easy to read things in a different way than what they were intended:comfort: I think we all have had moments of feeling insecure, but work past it because I can promise you that nobody here would deliberately try to offend you, or make you feel unwelcome.
You don't need 50posts to join us in the LTTTC threads, I chat in the LTTTC Assissted Conception forum and all of the girls there are lovely X
Just click on LTTTC then move down the page past the sub forums, to the thread forums. You will find a lot of supporting girls there, I promise you hun X
Take care and come on over X
Hi all,
Murraycod.Good luck with IVf. I hope you get loads of grade 1 eggies and wishing you the easiest and stickiest transfer of embies.
How have you found the experience? Is it much different to IUI?
We are thinking that mabey IVF is the way to go if IUI doesn't work. We haven't got much time really so mabey we should just bite the bullet and do IVF next cycle.
Anyway waiting for AF so have a few weeks to decide.
Good luck for tomorrow. xx
Thanks Jilly X I have found the IVF similar to IUI....sort of.... more medications and needles, and much more precise, but so far I have actually enjoyed it!! ( I say that now but I havn't had a bad day yet!)
I ended up having 9 eggies collected on Monday, with 6 fertilising, so my fingers are crossed I have a healthy big blasty to transfer on Friday!XX
BK2yrself how are you doing sweetheart, havn't heard from you, hope you are doing ok X
Hello,
I'm very new to all this. I already have 2 beautiful children (8 and 11) and 1 husband who has since had a vasectomy. Although I never would have imagined it 6 years ago, we really want another baby and have had an assessment cycle at Pivet in perth. I never had any conception problems the first 2 times, but obviously I'm older now (36).
I am thinking of going down the IUI line and have been told to book a HyCoSy in for next month. But another friend of mine is also at Pivet and she says that the HyCoSy is optional. Does anybody know about this or have any advice for me? There's so much info and it get's very confusing.
Also do you have to use injectables for IUI or is this optional too? I know I need to ask Pivet all these questions, but thought I'd see if anyone out there can help first.
Thanks!
Hi and :welcome:
I am not sure what a hycosy is but I think you may be talking about to see if your fallopian tubes are still patent and ok. Most FS will do this procudure just to make sure you are ok.
I am not sure of the procedure with a vasecotomy for your husband. But they will get the sperm and then insert it at the right time for you.
Usually they will do injections of gonal-f or something along the same line to stimulate you to have two eggs, so it will be a low dose. Also they will do blood tests and you will have a ultrasound or two to see how you are responding to the drugs and how many follicles you have. Then when the time is right you will told when to inject ovridel (i think from memory) 36 hours before the IUI procedure.
The iui procedure is quick and painless.
Good luck with everything and fingerscrossed for a quick BFP
Hi,
I am new to this site.....
We have just completed round 3 of IUI (natural cycle). We got another BFN today.
Just wondering if anyone can give advise on whether we should try another or go to IVF ?
We conceived naturally our first child 4 years ago but this time things are very different.
Have had all test etc and ob just says its unexplained infertility....
We are in Newcastle - is anyone else ?
Hi there,
I had well over 3 failed IUI's but my FS said generally after three cycles of Clomid then three IUI (in that order I guess) it would be worth going to IVF. We got our 1st BFP on our 1st IVF cycle so I guess he was right all along! I was worried about the cost of IVF v. IUI which was a big difference but I guess you pay for the greatly increased chance of success.
Goodluck with your decision.
