hi girls,
no sleep in for me ! im impressed you were up early exercising mich !
saffy: very interesting with your embie ! i hope you are feeling ok, will you do a hpt or wait until your blood test ?
joeve: good luck with your juicing ! hope it is yum :-)
afm: well af arrived this morning, gosh it takes so long for me to wean off the progesterone ! i then went into a bit of a panic when i realised i can't see my clinic until mon and i would be day 3 then and i thought maybe they won't be happy with that as they usually start day 2, anyway sunbeam talked me down off the ledge (lol) and reassured me it would all be fine and there would be plenty of other things for me to panic about throughout this cycle (that's comforting haha)
-
Hi ladies :)
Sunbeam - good work on the 2kg (of not poop or water ) Your body will be loving you for all those fruit and vegies!
Joeve - any sign of O yet? Please don't go MIA with mine!!
Saffy - I must have been in gloomsdale with you the last few days, it feels good to pack up and leave though! Gosh those meds are a mouthful, you poor thing.
Mich - Bummer about the speculum's, like Saffy said, it would have been embarrassing if he needed to go bigger!
Minnie - well, yay on AF arriving for once  bring on the jabbing!
Andie - Bring on ovulation! Is that right?
AFM: I feel as though AF is coming, but no sore bb's. Just emotional and strange feelings like something is going on in there. And no, def not PG as we have been using condoms till i ovulate (which I don't think has happened yet) So I have no fricken idea what my body is doing. I hope it isn't AF because I have booked to see the nurses for 2 weeks after my FS appointment on Tuesday because if I take provera that is when I will be bleeding! Does anyone know what will happen if AF does show up? It will be too early to start the drugs and I can't rely on another cycle. So will I have to wait a couple of weeks and then take the provera? Hope not :(
-
Minnie and Tasha - so sorry you have stress about what day AF comes/ doesn't come! Every cycle is so important to us and even the thought of having to delay treatment for a whole cycle because of what day you're booked into see the specialist is not good for our fragile mental health!! :wall:
I'm so glad Sunbeam "talked you off the ledge" Minnie. She's a champ :) I really hope it's fine for you to start Monday. At my clinic, if your period starts after midday, you count the next day as day 1 anyway. So, even though yours started in the morning you're really only a few hours off (surely insignificant!!!)
Tasha - I don't know what will happen if AF shows up sorry :( Could it possibly be ovulation? Really hope AF stays away though... until you want her
Oh - and it was Andie with the speculum dramas  Though once, they had to get a different speculum for me but I didn't ask if it was bigger or smaller!! Don't think I want to know!!! Ha ha ha

mich: thanks for keeping the list up to date :-)
ok girls i have a back to basics question for you all (or for anyone who feels like answering)
af, what is she like for you ? is she heavy/light, pink/brown/red, do you have any clots ? big or small, how long does she last etc only share if you feel comfortable doing so, the reason im asking is because at the moment i have thrush (perfect timing for starting ivf not) so im not using tampons like i usually would and so im using pads and it has made me realise how little i actually bleed, i have never had heavy periods but im wondering if this it "too" light. i had an ultrasound this cycle and the lining was a good thickness so its got me wondering. also has she changed over the years ?
sunbeam: when you say you don't have any lining come out what do you actually mean by that, is it a colour your not seeing that indicates its lining ?
share away if you will :)
-
Minnie ok here goes my first day is usually light brown not much and mixed with cm. Day 2 it is red usually bright and has long stringy lining and sometimes darker red small clots less than 5cent piece. Day 3 is the same. Day 4 is back to bright red no lining or clots day 5 is intermitted bleeding bright red and then she is gone. Days 2 and 3 are heavy - think changing a super tampon every 2 hours and a pad as back up. After those days it's light and normal tampon no pad.
There you go! Hope that was helpful :)
-
mines all over the shop due to drugs, m/c, ivf etc, ie my last one ( just stopped pill) was light, brown and stringy, one before that was 4 days long, heavy and red for 1-2 days then pink/brown spotting, few before that were heavy red and about 8 days long :dunno:
-
I'm glad you asked that Minnie. The AF I just had was lighter than usual and I was wondering what is "normal" too!!
I spotted brown for half a day before AF, then day 1 was medium flow of red blood (maybe soak a tampon 2-3 times per day) but no clots, day 2 and 3 were light bleeding red (wouldn't need to change tampon except for hygeine!), day 4 and 5 were just tinges of brown when wiping.
AF has definitely got lighter over the years -from distressingly heavy, to what i think is a bit on the light side???
-
hhhmmm interesting, joeve mine is nowhere near that heavy even on the heaviest days, usually i can easily pop a regular tampon in after a morning shower and often i don't need to change it until bedtime (around 11 pm), i think yours is more normal than mine !
i am getting little clots but they are only small
saffy: so yours in all over the place, has it only been that way since you had miscarriages ?
mich: is yours also different since your miscarriages ?
my luteal phase used to be normal until i started having miscarriages (which came first though, was i having m/c's because of my luteal phase or vice versa ?)
-
prior to ivf my cycles were quite heavy, clotty & dark red - with about 2-3 days of heavy flow, then 1-2 days of lighter flow, then a couple of extra days of brown spotting. all up it was lasting at least a week.
after starting ivf they are lighter, bright red & less clotty and dont last as long, which has me worried that maybe my body is winding down? having said that, the cycle just gone was heavier, clottier with some cramping too - back to how i remember them. i did notice some stringy stuff too, not cm - what i can only assume is lining? maybe bc i have taken a couple of months off ivf, my body is resetting itself.
i am a pad girl now anyway so it has been easier to monitor the 'flow' (wow - who knew i would be posting that on a chat site?!!) - what with all the scans, pessaries, transfers that go on down there - its nice to give the poor thing a break for one week out of the month!
minnie - i think its a good sign that your scan is showing a think lining. my sister, who is a year older than me, has light periods - lasting 2-3 days of hardly anything, and she got pregnant her first month of trying a few months ago. i know everyone is different, but the lighter flow doesnt necessarily have to be a bad thing. and yes, i am green with envy about my sister!
tasha - not sure about the timing of things re: your appts/af etc. it was frustrating enough for me when i had a 47 day cycle, i cant imagine how annoying it must be for you to wait so long in between cycles. i hope it comes at a convenient time for you. :)
-
Andie - Ha ha ha about giving "the poor thing" and break for a week!
Minnie - I don't think AF changed after the miscarriages (they were natural) but maybe the flow has reduced since the d&c I had with the lap? If so, perhaps it's a positive thing. I dunno, just one more thing to obsess about I guess!
-
Whoops! I meant to put that bit about the speculum for Andie  My Bad
Minnie, AF for me is very light. A couple of days of brown spotting, 1-2 days of actual red blood and then another 2-3 days more of brown spotting.
Be back later....
-
Hi Girls,
Andie - i got to sleep in yesterday and today and a nanna nap too! I'm so lazy ;) It's going to be a shock to the system when I have to start getting up for work regularly again! I had a spectrum type story too when I went for a Pap Smear once, I was about 28 and the woman was in the middle of doing the pap smear and pipes up "are you a virgin?" (as if I'd be having a Pap smear if I was!!!) I said "no, why?" she replies, "oh, well its very tight down here!" I was just lying there thinking, good to know, now can I just get the hell out of here!!!
Mich - Thanks for keeping our chart going so well. Good on you for being up jogging. I recon jogging in the heat up here would just about kill me so I'll stick to my swimming and late evening walks which WILL be starting again tomorrow . How's the x-trainer going?
Tasha - I'm a bit confused babe. Provera is taken for a week and then you start to bleed a day or so after you stop. Usually you'd see your FS and then the nurse so she can explain everything and then you'd give her a call the day AF shows up so you can go in and get your meds. Why is there a 2 week wait between seeing FS and the nurse?
Joeve - How was the juice? Even though i had finished my juice fast when I woke up yesterday it was the first thing I wanted so I think it's going to be my daily start each morning. I ate more regular food yesterday and my stomach was slightly bloated but much less than before the fast so I think my tummy really likes it. When's your next bt to see where your egg is at?
Saffy - High tea how very posh . Was it yum? I think metamucil is a good idea I still don't get how our metabolisms can slow down when we're eating more healthily. I hope your other little embie is doing well.
Minnie - I'm glad you are back in off your ledge . As you know my AF has been of concern to me for a few months. It had reduced from 5 to 3 days over the past 5 years or so but recently it has been as short as 24 hours and almost no need for a pad. I guess I always considered the dark clots to be bits of the lining and that is what I have not seen for a few months. Mine were never very big just sort of 1-2cm stringy bits. It used to start off red blood and little clots for the first 1 1/2 -2 days then to brown spotting for day 3. I did not really notice any change after my mc's except the first AF after D&Cs until last September when it got really short.
-
Sunbeam, I think when I see the nurses they will give me all the drugs that day and explain how to use them etc. So I will start jabbing that night. They told me that provera is for 10 days and then a bleed about 3 days after i stop - making it roughly 14 days. I will check with the FS on Tuesday, just in case ;)

Hi girls,
I have my medication & will start tonight if my blood test from this morning comes back with baseline hormone levels, cross your fingers for me :)
-
:crossfingers::crossfingers::crossfingers: Minnie :)
-
ohhh good luck! Happy jabbing!
-
i thought i was doing well with my high protein/no sugar/gluten diet, it sounds like i will have to start exercising too to keep up with the joggers/swimmers & cross trainers?! im impressed.
minnie - is this your first ivf cycle? i reckon its a good sign that you are ready to start jabbing and its valentines day tomorrow...! goodluck.
sunbeam - what is it about pap smears/transfers etc. and the comments you get? i have also had the comment 'you have a long birth canal' during a pap. what am i supposed to say/do with that info? just do what you have to do and get out of there. its weird.
hi to everyone else. :hello:
afm - got my FS appt this wed. was thinking today how nice it has been to take a break from ivf for the past couple of months. just thinking of another FET has got me feeling a bit anxious already. if im honest, it probably has more to do with the fact that i was pregnant this time last year. i havent even been thinking about it, but was doing my tax today and printed off medicare statement of claims and there was so many bt's, procedures, appts etc. for last year. i guess now i am back in to the reality of ttc again. sorry for the ramble, it just gets hard to maintain positivity after repeated transfers, miscarriages and still no answer as to why. arghhh - listen to me. i havent even had my FS appt yet and im stressing. geez.
-
Minnie - yay yay yay!!! It's all starting. I hope your first jab goes well :)
Joeve - how's things? Any sign of O?
Sunbeam - x-trainer is going great. I'm consistently losing 1/2 a kilo a week, think I've lost about 7kg now  I'm thinking of doing a loose version of the soup diet before IVF starts, have you tried that one?
Andie - so sorry you're starting to feel stressed :( I really hope your appointment Wed gives you some hope. Do you find the FET's difficult physically? I'm sure they always are emotionally.
AFM - nurses appointment tomorrow - apparently its 1 hour, sounds intense!! The FS himself called me today to tell me I'm not immune to chicken pox. Although he strongly recommended the vaccine and told me about the risks - I took Minnie's advice and kept it simple and just said I didn't want the vaccine - and it was ok! (Thanks Minnie )
-
Yay Minnie how exciting this month will be the one!
Sunbeam the juicing is ok! I am craving bread...bad!
Mich very exciting hope tomorrow is great for you x the list is great babe
Saffy I hope things are going along well for you chick I have every thing crossed!
Tasha hello chick x
Andie sorry you are feeling stressed.
Nothing much happening here, had a bit of EWCM today but nothing compared to usual hmmmmp. Not even getting a faint second line on opks so who knows what is happening! Anyway planning on jumping DH tonight! I am over thinking too much about it and didnt' even call for my BT results ummm marrrr how naughty am I...:nahnah: to my FS.
-
Hi Girls,
Minnie - Whoo for starting jabbing, you ticket to the IVF express! Good luck babe.
Mich - OMG 7 kilos you go girl! I wish my weight was going down like that. I know I need to start up the exercise again, I did mean to go for a walk today but forgot all about it till right now  Good luck with your appt tomorrow and well done for handling the chicken pox situation so calmly
Andie - My thoughts exactly i just don't need a running commentary when someone is poking around in my ho-ho! They should just keep their thoughts to themselves. It is always nice to have a break from TTC but don't waste all that relaxation by starting to stress already.
Tasha - Good luck with your FS appt tomorrow I hope you get heaps of info. Just a tip, I write down all my questions before I go or invariably I forget to ask something.
AFM - I took my last Provera tonight but already started spotting today and have had cramps on and off all day  please let this be a decent period. Spoke to a friend tonight and mentioned my missing lining issue and she suggested it might be caused by endo, I've done some reading and it sounds possible, I'll have to bring this up with FS when I see him next. Still juicing and loving it!
-
Joeve- We posted at the same time. Sorry I can't help with the bread cravings. Your eggie should be here soon so go for it tonight those swimmers will still be good in a few days time. ;)
-
Sunbeam may you be blessed with heavy clotty AF rofl
Last night DH was not up for DTD I tried not to get cranky which I am sure some of you can relate to and I really tried not to force the issue as I know sometimes he feels like a bit of an on call sperm maker. He was watching tv and so I went to bed, and as I walked out of the loungeroom I kissed his cheek and said ok I won't force you to dtd with your wife even though she is popping these pills and making an effort. Guilt much?? Anyway the good boy that he is woke me at midnight and we took one for team clomid.... How romantic....
Happy Valentines Day everyone x

minnie- how did you go?
joeve- geez your dh is a winner! Hope he can, ahem, keep it up over the next few days!
mich- how did your appt go?
andie-I could wrie the exact same thing don't worry, it has to end eventually one way or the other x
tasha-goodl uck for appt today, have you got your police checks yet?
sunbeam- hope you're still 'going with the flow' lol
afm- no hope at all for this cycle so already planning my next, I need to ring the lab today to find out about my embie but have been putting it off....might do it now, then at least i know if I'm doing a stim or fet. If nothing else I look 6 months pregnant waddling around with my bloated stomach from the pregnyl, joy.
-
Saffy - When can you test? No good to the bloated belly. I have been told it is a side effect of FSH which I will be injecting soon. Still waiting for DH checks to come back.
Andie - it is so hard not to stress, I am a massive stress head! I won't say 'relax' or any of those other annoying words, just good luck with your appointment :)
Minnie - how did it all go?
Joeve - Haha, how sweet. Hopefully O will show today....any luck?
Mich - any news?
Sunbeam - Ugh, hope it isn't the case with the endo. It's my understanding that endo causes heavy painful AF? FX that you have a decent bleed. I also have a script, but mine is for primulout.
AFM: Well FS appointment was a bit disappointing. DH STILL hasn't been in to get bloods done. He has a ridiculous fear of needles so has backed out 3 times. I had already booked with FS and asked for the day off so I went ahead with the appointment. My FS is rather frustrating at times. I got a yeast infection last week, took monistat tablet and it cleared up. Then DH and I DTD once (first time in about 3 weeks) and it comes back!! So the FS says "maybe we should push it back another 3 months" Um, how bout NO! So he gave me a script for some horrid cream for 14 days :( So I am still booked in to see the nurses (who I met today) on 28th Feb and then I will start primolut to induce AF. It's already been almost 3 years, what's another month
-
Hey ladies just crashing your thread quickly to say hi to sunbeam and let her know i have been quietly stalking her.
-
Hi Girls,
Looks like we are all falling into a bit of a heap!
Minnie says hi she is MIA as her little boy was taken to hospital yesterday and has sepsis. He is doing okay and they are hoping he will be released this arvo. She did her first jab in the emergency room poor thing!
Tasha - I'm sorry your appt was not more positive. What a hard long cycle you have had already! I hope it goes smoother from now on in. Can they give DH some Valium to get him through the bt?
Saffy - I'm with you today. My cycle has only just started and feel like ditching the whole thing today :wall:
Joeve - I'm glad you got a nice romantic BD session in, not ! It doesn't matter the sperms won't mind at least they are on their way.
Ferrals - Thanks for checking in on me and congrats on the new pregnancy.
AFM - Well :wall::wall::wall: that's me today! Spotting started yesterday lunch time, I woke up to good blood and a nice large clot at 6am and I was very happy and excited, then by 10am its pretty much all over!!! I went in to see the nurse to get my meds and had a big chat to her about how concerned I am and how I don't think it should just be being dismissed as "things change with age"! She wrote lots of notes and said she will have a big chat with FS. I'm thinking that a lap and D&C next cycle (since I wanted to take that cycle off anyway) might be my best plan of attack as I don't really want to keep putting money into IUI cycles if there are underlying issues that have not been investigated that are either stopping me from conceiving or could risk me mc again. So cd1 today but won't know if I am going ahead yet till I hear from FS.
-
yep -we are continuing our 2011 losing streak :wall:
Poor Minnie- how stressful is that, having to jab under pressure
Well looks like i am doing another ( and final) stim soon, my embie made it to blasty but wasn't good enough quality to freeze- boo.
Sunbeam- I agree with the lap and D&c plan, hope FS calls back
-
Sunbeam - I just wanted to sneak in and say dint let them dismiss your af conerns. I'm 25 (26 in acouple of weeks) and my cycles have slowly disappeared as yours have over the past two years. Turned out I had endo all over the place, not the worst the fs has seen but still shocked him as no other symptoms. I too wonder how a bfp is possible when ad is so light and short but it has improved since having lap and endo removed.
Anyway I will but out now just wanted to reassure age was not the only answer.
Fingers crossed for all you girls.
-
Happy Valentine's Day everyone :heartbeat:
Wow - would the drama fairy stop visiting this thread and send in the baby fairy!!!
Minnie - lots of love to you and your little boy. I hope he's doing ok. I bet you're not even giving the jabbing a thought!
Joeve - nothing like a good (justified) guilt trip. I like your style ;) Is anything happening on the OPK?
Saffy - no, that's not fair about your embie! :( We're all hoping you won't need another stim... but I can understand your sense of hopelessness about this cycle. The bloating making you look preg is just cruel too!!
Tasha - I can't believe your DH! You must have the patience of a saint! Sorry your FS appointment was so frustrating too - 3 months, no way! Can you just ignore that advice and start the IUI cycle when you get AF? In theory, once you're on IUI, you can stop dtd unprotected and the infection issue shouldn't be an issue??
Sunbeam - the lap and d&c might be worth it. Even if there is no endo, you'll know your starting with a good clean lining after the d&c. Also - mine ended up costing nothing!! Except $17 for pain meds. I was shocked... in a good way :)
Andie - good luck for tomorrow
Hi Keta - just a quick GOOD LUCK for testing tomorrow
AFM - I'm quite enjoying being on no drugs or hormones this month and am less frustrated with taking a cycle off than I thought (well, I'm saying this on day 7:lol:). My nurse's appointment was good today. Tho truthfully, I've learned so much about IVF from BB, it didn't cover much I didn't know! I have all my drugs and am ready to start on day 2 next cycle. So probably early March!
-
thanks for indulging my whinge yesterday, i am feeling a bit better and have been shopping at ikea today - i love that place...!
minnie - hope your jab went ok & your little one recovers quickly. i guess you probably didnt have time to even stress about the jab with all that was going on.
mich - no, generally dont find FET's physically difficult (just the last one!). will be checking for your appt news today - hope it went well.
tasha - bugger your appt didnt go too well, the waiting drives you insane. i sometimes think the FS's forget how much time we spend waiting, to them 2-3 months is nothing when to us its 2-3 months that we could be doing something productive! hope everything clears up quickly and you can get started asap. btw, my dh is not a fan of the BT's either (he has only had like 3 in 5 years!), but goes completely white & dizzy, has to sit down for about 5 mintues after its finished.
joeve - well done to you, guilt trip works every time! fingers crossed the sperm feel guilty too and you have a super ovulation & fertalisation this month.
saffy - the bloated tummy always feels like a kick in the guts to me, its what i really want to look like - but bc of a baby, not bc of ivf drugs! hope the bloat is not too uncomfortable for you. sorry to hear about your blastie. are you waiting for your BT, or will you test beforehand?
sunbeam - maybe you could do a tracking cycle, see what the hormones are up to these days? im not familiar with endo, although it was interesting to read the post from keta. i didnt know you could have it and not get painful periods/pain during sex etc. hoping that you have had more 'flow' this afternoon to put your mind at ease.
afm - not much. appt tomoz, will let you know how i go. :)
-
mich - posted at the exact same time, & oddly with similar comments! glad to hear you're all set to go, it will be march in no time so enjoy your cycle off! happy valentines day to you also, hope you have a nice relaxing night. :)
-
Tasha- I'm with mich- you must have the patience of a saint! I would be pinning my DH to the floor with a needle and syringe and taking the blood myself!! How annoying, can they get some emla cream for him ( it makes the area go numb before taking blood, kids use it lol). And no, you are NOT waiting another 3 months!!!!!
The drama fairy can rack off now please!
-
Sneaking in with a special message for Tasha....Well, it's a message for Tasha's DP....
SUCK IT UP PRINCESS. Your gorgeous partner is about to become a human pin cushion to give you a child. One little blood test is NOTHING. Hear me? NOTHING!!! Don't make Saffy and I come down there and do it the hard way. Because we will. And there will be NO emla cream from me!!! So, grab a cup of concrete and harden the frig up. Your child is waiting to be born....
There, I feel better now.
:hello: gorgeous women x
Sneaking out....
PS. do you think I could be a nurse?? ;)
-
Tasha wow I would find it hard not to drive him there and deliver him to pathology myself! Do you want me to? Where are you I am coming over!!
-
Ha ha ha - N2L and Saffy - I TOTALLY agree! Send your DP in here Tasha and we'll give him a talking to!
Andie - great minds think alike ;)
-
 N2L, I nearly wet myself laughing at your post! And you would be an AWESOME nurse!
Thanks ladies, I just showed him a few posts  He is going in this week when he gets an early finish or I just may have to drug him and drive him down there, he he.
-
Excellent we have shamed him into going to get it done yay!!!
Serious question- if you had a bt today and your vein was puffy with bright purple under the skin would you freak out??? I have talked myself out of thinking it can kill me but still it's nasty and given the amount of blood tests I have had I know it's not normal..
