thank you everyone.mum has been doing ok.she is supposed to be going back to theatre sometime today to wash out when they operated and if nothing is "growing" then they will stitch her up.hopefully will get her up on her foot thursday if its been stitched.all her drs (infectious dept, oncology, surgeons) all decided that they should keep her in hospital til her mastectomy as a precaution.......duhhhh i been saying that to her for over a week.so her mastectomy is 2 weeks thursday and they previously said a week in following it so at present looks like she has at least 3 weeks still in hospital.DP and i are hoping to pay her a surprise visit over the weekend as i have had flu that i have only just shaken i had been advised not to visit her while i had it.
How is everyone else doing?
-
trubabe, I'm glad to hear she's doing ok. I'm sure she'll appreciate the surprise visit. You still on for your lap tomorrow? If so, good luck! :goodluck:
mellybelly, sounds great! FX you have plenty to freeze!

Hey lovely ladies,
Thanks for all the support - it really means a lot.
Brunette ~ Thanks for a great lunch yesterday - it was great to be able to chat face to face!!
Loops ~ I'm banking on your 'third time lucky'!! Everything is crossed for you!!
trubabe ~ GL with your lap today. I hope you recover quickly!!
mellybelly81 ~ that's great that they are all doing well! Is your FS taking them to Blasto? When is your ET scheduled for?
kmm ~ good luck with your EPU on Friday/Saturday (I hope you weren't planning to go away for easter!!) - Let us know how many eggies they see in your scan today!
melttc ~I hope you get some answers from your FS on Tuesday. Who is your FS?
Renee ~ Thanks sweet. Have you o'ed yet? I guess it is just a waiting game for you now to get onto your regular cycle? I hope your body gets back to normal soon so you can do your FET.
juniper76 ~ Thanks - after reading your post I don't feel so silly about how I feel. Thanks heaps!
Mummawannabe ~ how did your ET go? How are you feeling?
AFM ~ AF has ended now, so its now a lot easier to move on to the next FET. I'm going into see FS next Wednesday for a BT (day 12) and I guess he will let me know if I should skip this month (April) and let my body get back to normal, or whether we should do it this month (it would be scheduled for around 14 April - provided that my body is acting normally!!).
Are there any thoughts about whether one should go straight into a FET after a stim or whether I should wait a month? The thing that worries me is that at the begining of April I'm away on business on and off and one of my trips I won't fly back into brisbane until the night of the 13th of April.

hello loverly ladies.
Wow so much to read.
Trubabe: what a mess with your mum hope that the doctors organise themselves and everything goes good for your mum.
Mum 2 B: So sorry to hear od your loss it's normal to grieve.
Loops: Third time will be lucky plus you guys are going on a little holiday so you'll be super super relaxed after wards whichc should make a massive difference should make little bubba stick.
MellY" Goodluck chick
hello to everyone else who i have forgotten mind is all ovwer the place atm with cows calving left roight and centre. definately keeping us very very busy and on our tippy toes.
I finally got hold of the nurse after playing phoine tag for two days and we finally have our dates I keep taking the pill until the 20th april. I start on the nasal spray on the 16th april (any tips for this ladies would be very much appreciated. I have to do one in the morning and one at night) then I start the injections on the 28th april. I have a bt roughly on the 6th may and then a U/s on the 7th may (loops did mac send you to sale for the U/S?) then they'll tell me what day the following week we'll be doing the transfer. Phew am really excited that it's finally happening and we won't be in limbo for much longer.
Othyerwise have been great just body has other ideas atm strongly suggesting that af should be coming af back pain bad and very very very tender nipples hope it doesn't last too much longer.
Goodluck everyone on your current and next cycles hopefully we can have some more bfp's in here.
-
Trubabe ~ GL with your Lap hun, hope they clear you out if anything there.
Mum-2-be ~ Thanks and everything crossed for you too hun!!
Trueblue ~ thanks chicky. Yep the holiday to Tassie will be great - I can't wait. We go ON 10TH May - so not too far away.
GL with the Synarel - you get used to it the more and more you do it, not very pleasant at the start. Yes I went to Sale for everything apart from the initial consultations with Mac which were at Traralgon consult suites and BT's done at any Gipps Pathology venues.
All U/S's, EPU's and ET's were done at Sale.
FX for you guys!!
AFM ~ trying not to think too much about TTC although as we all know that is near impossible and planning trip to Tasmania. Then hopefully do another Stim cycle in July. In the mean time always hoping for natural miracle of course.
GL all!! xo

Hi girls
m2b - my clinic says at least one cycle to get all hormones back to normal and give your body a rest. Its their standard practice to go to blastie stage (but I think they consider day 3 in certain circumstances)
Thanks everyone for your words of support. Have been waiting patiently for the lab to call about my embies, but got sick of it and have just called them myself. I have six they will freeze today, BUT three of them were ones that they originally didn't think had fertilised, so their quality is questionable. They will check again tomorrow and if any of the remaining ones are suitable they will freeze as day 6 blasties. So a good result to have 6, but a little disappointing that out of 23 harvested (and the reason I couldn't do a transfer this cycle) there are potentially only 3 good ones.
Does anyone know about the quality of late starters and day 6 embies?
Mel

All the best for your lap trubabe. Hope you can have a good visit with your mum - can't believe how she's getting messed around.
6 is great Melly!
Yay to get out of limbo trueblue
m2b, I'd be impatient to go again, but maybe it's good to let your body 'rest'...? I guess it depends what your body is doing and your doc will have his own ideas no doubt.
Hi everyone else - hope you're all travelling well
And me... tomorrow is the day... April Fool's - figures!

Hi Ladies,
MellyBelly 81 - I know it might seem dissapointing that you only got 3, but this means that these are the ones most likely to be pregnancies. There are SOOOO many slower growing embies out there that turned into healthy human beings - the quicker ones tend to become boys (male to female ratio is much higher for blasts) so it's maybe just your little girl taking her time to make sure she is just right :)
Loops - great to hear you are having a break, so lovely to have something to look forward to.
Mum-2-Be - I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand as we all do how awful, awful, awful this process is. I highly recommend taking a month off after a stim, I am currently on my month off and am enjoying this forced break as I haven't thought about getting pregnant in about a week which is impossible while you are on this rollercoaster! Big hug to you and support for whatever you decide xx
Hi to all you other lovely ladies. I'm sorry we haven't had some good news in here recently as this is one group of ladies who deserve it.
AFM - Went to FS today, changed from clomid to femara to help to ovulate for my FET's and his suggestion was rather than putting 2 embies back in that we take out two of my day 3 embies ( I have 2 x day 3 and 4 x blasties) then see which one looks the best and only put one back in. He said it helps get through the embies quicker without risking twins. I am kind of happy because he thinks I am too 'young' to have to think about having 2 embies put back in as I really don't want twins (I turn 35 in a couple of weeks). I know that I am really lucky to have any frozen embies to even make this decision but it still feels like a big gamble.
-
Hey everyone,
Since my last post we had a DAY 3 transfer of a 5 cell embie, as out of the 3 that fertilised they were worried that none may make it to DAY 5 blastie. Lucky they went ahead with that as I found out today (DAY 5) that the other two lil ones didnt make it. Apparently yesterday they were at 4 cells each, but fragmented, and arrested by this morning.
So disappointed to have gone through a stim cycle and ended up with only one DAY 3 (scrapping the bottom of whats acceptable for DAY 3) embie!
Thinking it was better to be like last time and get OHSS and at least have two blasties for FET than this!
I have my fingers crossed for this lil one and know that babies can result from such, but can't help but feel like its very unlikely.
Loops12 - Thanks for your FX!
Mellybelly81 - whats the update on your DAY 6 embies?
Kmm - good luck with your EPU!
Anyone got any ideas of what they might do differently next time to try and achieve better quality? So far i have had 125ml of puregon for stim cycle 1 = 15 eggs (2 blasties)& OHSS and 100ml of puregon for stim cycle 2 = 3 mature eggs (1 day 3 embie).
-
Mellybelly ~ thanks hun. Unfortunately that's the trouble with doing blasties, you tend to lose a lot of them. Both IVF stim cycles we have had none to freeze. So 3 to me is good, although I can see how you'd be disappointed with being down to 3 from 23. I will have FX for you that you the others hang in there and you get six to freeze. GL! Day 6 embies I believe should be very good quality.
Marcellus ~ Good luck tomorrow. April fools is only for people that want to play jokes LOL. You'll be fine!
Lairdoz ~ thanks hun, yeh Im really happy to have something exciting to think about.
Sounds like your FS knows what he's talking about and if you know that you dont want twins then that sounds like a good option to me. Im happy you have a few frozen. All the best!
Mummawannabe ~ Really hoping this one sticks for you. If not successful, I hope they can work out a way to get more embies but with no OHSS. I can't really help because Ive only ever had 6 or 7 eggs collected even when they increased my Puregon. Everyone is different but Im sure you'll get your BFP soon. for you.
AFM ~ gotta have another BT tomorrow to see if HCG is down to 0. If so I wont have to have curette. Hopefully it will be my last needle for couple of months - im sick of being a pin cushion LOL.
-
hi guys, just a quick one today from work, oops.LOL
have been so busy and dh and i had a couple of days in melb last week for a quick break. ringing the clinic today to make sure they organise synerel for me. looks like i'll be start sniffing on 7th or so.
EPU 1st or 2nd may and ET 3rd or 4th of may. thats our guess.
i am so excited, nervous, but excited mostly. this time it doesn't seem as real as we've had a break for so long. over a year now.
got fingers and toes crossed. sorry for no personals. i'll catch up with everyone soon.
-
Hey hey chickies. Just a little quickie from me today - so so sooooo tired. Of you girls that have done a medicated FET cycle, did you suffer from craaazy fatigue? I am absolutely pooped, went to bed at 8.15 last night !! In saying that, I know that I will stress way less with drugs than if I was going natural. FET should be scheduled for the week of April 12th and we are going all out with acupuncture plus osteopath and massage as recommended by my acupuncturist. Gonna be a tad p!ssed if our 1 little emby doesn't survive the thaw after all this cos it don't come cheap!!!
Will write a few persies when I regain a bit of energy (hopefully over Easter when I can get some much wanted sleep )
-
Not too sure if there is anyone left in here that would remember me but just wanted to pop in and say hi to all, good luck with current cycles and Happy Easter
-
Melissal: I've done 2 medicated FET and can relate to this somewhat - but more after the transfer (When i turned out to be pregnant.) Early to bed doesn't hurt anyone! FX for you!
Loops12: Good luck with your final (FX) blood test. Do you have them with S&N? I have them with them and after 4 per calendar year I get a card which I show each time I have a blood test and I get all applicable tests bulk billed. (Haven't come across one that hasn't been bulk billed yet)
Has anyone had any experience with DHEA to improve egg quality? A friend told me that it helps activate dorment follies?
-
Melissal - I'm doing an HRT FET and have been very tired since about the second week. Have been having nanna naps most days and early nights. Hope your little embie hangs in there.
That's great news JBM - fingers crossed that this is the one for you
MWB - :goodluck: for your little embryo. I'm sure if they transferred it then it must stand a fighting chance.
Hope the test came out right for you today Loops
Sounds like a good plan Lairdoz!
And me....well I passed my test :)
Pleeeeaase let there be some more bfps in here soon - I'll be 'watching over' you all and waiting for your good news.....
And sorry for being so crap as List Master.
ETA - Oh, and happy easter!
-
Hi girls
marcy - I love the name change!;) yay for your test. I am pretty sure I will be doing a HRT FET when I do mine too, so that's good to know of a side affect in advance
jbm - good luck with starting the cycle
loops - have you got your BT results yet?
AFM - DH got the call from the lab today (we're not sure why, we think maybe they are trying to share it between the cpl instead of it just being about person having all the procedures) and there were two more blasties that they froze today. So all up that's 8, which is a success rate of a third, so we're pleased. I feel a bit bad for my whingeing about only getting three when I know we were damn lucky to even have that many so for that I'm sorry girls.
On another note, I think I am finally getting on the better side of my OHSS, so hopefully I will be able to go back to sleeping in my own bed and only drink 2L a day instead of 3.
Sorry to anyone I missed and I hope you all have a good Easter!
Mel

Melly - awesome news about your 8 frozen embies!!! Don't feel bad about feeling disappointed about their progress though - I think when you start out wih such a brillian result, your expectations are that much higher and when things don't work so well after, it is a huge blow. With our stim cycle, we were really excited when I had 20 massive follies and were expecting great things. We only got 13 eggs from that and only 4 fertilised properly so we felt pretty crushed after that because we expected too much. So, what I'm trying to ramble across is what you are feeling is perfectly natural AND you have 8 snowbubs which is fanastic - GL for your FET hun
Marcy - love your new name, just wondering how I go about changing my user name? And thanks for the vote of confidence that yes, medicated FET do make you tired, I thought maybe I was being a big sook!!!!
MWB - thanks as well re FET. Might have to toughen up a bit cos if I'm tired now, hate to think what I' be like if this emby survives the thaw and sticks !!! Sorry, can't help you on your DHEA question but am curious to know if anyone else knows something
Loops - hey there hun, hope you are doing ok and that your BT came back with a nice fat zero
JBM - hoping that your big long break has grown you some lovely healthy eggies just waiting to make you some lovely embies!! Good luck for this cycle and hoping its the one for you
Me - feels so good to be actively doing something ttc-wise again. I've really struggled the last cycle as it felt so hopeless and I felt so useless, specially with my family all falling preggers like rabbits. I really hate that this journey makes us so sensitive to other peoples' good news. Anywho, hoping you all have a lovely Easter, lucky old me - I get to work nights for the whole thing!!!! Can't wait ;)
