How did you go JBM???

I just gave myself my trigger injection. The nurse thought she would give me 'the good stuff' cause im a midwife and dont have a problem mixing/preparing drugs and can give intramuscular injections. apprently it works beter than the subcut ones (into tummy skin) but cause its IM you would need to get a nurse to do it for you.
well i just want to say, giving myself a IM injection is NOT something I ever want to do ever again! but now it is done! and in 36 hours we will be picking up all those eggies!!!!!!

Hope everyone is well - same old same old here - I did have a very wonderful weekend though with my lovely girl friends playing tourist around Wodonga and Beechworth etc :)
Got our adoption information and read through all of that. So much involved in going down the adoption route but we have the time to do it and we've been through so much already I'm sure we can get through anything they would throw at us :)

Hi girls- haven't been in for a while so thought I would update you.

My stim cycle ended in a bfn- well, I got faint lines, a period and had a hcg of 20, last week my hcg had dropped to 10, so I was very disappointed again. Saw FS today who doesn't think there is a problem, and has arranged for a HRT FET next, as I have 3 frosties.

I have a dilemma in that I booked in for a second opinion with another FS at a different clinic, the appt is in 2 wks so I will have gotton my AF by then and would be going on the OCP. Not sure whether to just go ahead with FET ( as I feel a great sense of urgency due to my age) or see the other dr and perhaps start again with a new clinic, which might take a few more months. I hate the thought of waiting longer, I will be 39 in a month. But I don't want keep doing transfers if there is a problem that means they will never work- arrrggghhh, why is life so hard??

Will have to talk to DH when he gets home.
Anyway enough about me-

Loops- nice to see you mate, I have looked into adoption too, youa re right it is a lot of work and at my age I basically ruled it out, but you have time on your side and if you put your mind to it, you could definately do it!x

Teirae- is your EPU still on for tomorrow?? Hope so! I know what you mean about work, its so hard, I get phone calls everyday asking me to do extra shifts and when I am in a cycle I feel so guilty about calling in sick etc. Most people at my work know though, its just easier that way for me. Hope it works out for you x

Saffy - I'm so sorry that your last cycle did not go well. :comfort: So close, yet so far. It can't hurt to get a second opinion. If you do decide to go with another one, maybe you can continue on OCP until that time. I started OCP about 2 weeks ago but am waiting on genetic testing results to come back. I will be remaining on the OCP until I am ready for my next Medicated FET and wil be skippig the sugar pills as this will help keep my endo at bay. When are you scheduled to start HRT? (Is this Estrogen?)
IKWYM about time 'a tickin, I will be 37 next month and every month of waiting feels like you're adding 6 months to your journey. I hope you come to a decision that you are comfortable with and that your BFP is in one of your three little frosties.

Sorry to just jump in but i feel like i am going insane. My husband and I have just started our first IVF cycle. I had a lot of cramping after the egg collection and then had transfer on Monday (18/04). It has only been one and a half days but it feels like it has been YEARS! Since the transfer i have continued to have cramping and pains like a stitch. Also last night i woke up in so much pain that my husabnd was going to pack me in the car and take me to hospital! Is it normal to have quite a lot of cramping?

Any advice would be great!

Welcome to Belly Belly :D

Unfortunately, what you are going through is pretty normal. Bloating and cramping goes with the territory :(

I recommend panadol and a wheat bag (not too hot). Make sure you keep your fluids up. I have heard sustagen helps (not sure why!). It will get a little better each day. In the meantime, take it easy if you can. Your body has been through a lot.

hi girls!
just popping in quickly to keep you updated. Today went really well =) I recovered from the GA amazingly and bassically just felt like i had had a nap, felt perfectly normal afterwards and even now. they only gave me panadiene forte cause i had a 2 hour car ride home, but i didnt think i needed them. Its weird, i dreamt i was in my special place (a place i go when meditating) except being in my normal spot i was just relaxing and floating in the river. i recal people being around me and talking, but dont know what about, just that they were around.
now for the bit you guys are actually interested in... i got 10 eggies =) which im happy about, thats a pretty normal amount right? they were really pleased.
DH did really well too they got heaps of swimmers, even enough to freeze, even though we opted out of that. cause they said they would always take fresh stuff from him anyway and it was really easy for him, he was even awake and chatting and joking as they did it, he said he had tattoos worse than that =) and it cost money.
so i will get a phone call between 9am and 11am to let us know how many fertilised. and t/f will be either sat or mon. (im hoping sat cause that means we can still go away for easter/anzac day)

Dh is so ****y he is like...dont you worry my dear...they all will be fertilised. i then asked him if he still thinks a girl will be first (cause thats how he works, girl boy girl boy etc..) cause this way isnt the same. he said, well they only got the sperm from the girls side so has to be *shakes head* he is such a dag...atleast he knew he was joking.

i cant even go to sleep tonight...fell like i had a nap today so im wide awake!!!

tmcl: welcome to our crazy thread. lol. wow you had your transfer same day as me. i am still sore from having eggs collected last friday and my tummy is bloated heaps. i have had cramp like pains and feeling like i need to go toilet more often, but they say unless the pain becomes very painfull that discomfort and uncomfortable with bloating and small pain is normal. if anything is normal after doing IVF ??.

teirae: all went o.k for me. got my 12 eggs, 8 embies. 2 fresh went in on monday and 6 in freezer. have you had your EPU yet ?, hope it goes well for you. good luck for ET as well then come join me in my madness in the TWW. lol

afm: well my babies are 5 days old now, so implanting should be tomorrow or friday. good friday. then my acu lady said it would take about one week for anything to show up on preg test. which is only a few days before BT is due.
i am starting to feel a little insane, wondering if they're still growing or not. it's scary
still bloated but not as bad. sore and fat, is how feel , very bloated and fat

Im still here. Found out today out of our 10 eggs, 5 fertilised! Yay. Will findout 8am on sat morn when tf will be. Im hoping sat cause then our going away plans wont be affected. If its mon we have to change our whole easter plan.

teirae- congratulations for the 5 embies!! Thats a good result, nice to have a few up your sleeve so to speak, hope you only need one anyway! Are they waiting to see how many grow to day 3 before they decide? Its hard if you don't know til the last minute but I hope it works out for you xx

jbm- have you seriously got 6 frosties?? that is amazing, way to go, no more stim cycles for you!! Don't go insane this early on in the piece you have a while to go yet luvvy, hope it flies by xx I was quite a lot sorer and more bloater this time round, took a good week to settle down, I had to wear huge pants to work it was embarrassing. FX for you mate xx

TMCL- good luck with your tww, I'm sure cramping is normal and a good sign as long as theres no AF to accompany it!

tantee- thanks hun, I am to go on the ocp when I get AF then start the hrt (oestrogen) when the clinic says (depends on the timing etc). I'm sure it will be fine with seeing the other dr, I was over-reacting I think. My cycle is a bit weird actually this month so have NFI when AF will come- I just have to accept I will be 39 ( or more- eeek) when i get pregnant. Maybe we wll be doing FET at the same time??

afm- have decided to see the other dr, whats a few more weeks, if it means I can get pregnant. My cycle is weird this month, ewcm once a day, not heaps, but have had sore boos and nipples for about 4 days, which I usually get when I am in the tww, so who knows whats going on, opks not giving me any idea either. AF will just arrive one day when i don't want her I'm sure, she's reliable that way lol.

Thanks Saffy, yea i am happy with 5, as i always had that number in my head from the start (dont know why) so its what i expected. and yea, we wont know till literly the last minute. if the dr is doing it on sat he does it at 10am. so she has to call us before 8am and if its a go we have to be ready and jump in the car straight away to get there in time. Im worried about being all ready to go (including packed for our trip away for easter) for them to go, nah will do it mon i think ill be pretty disapointed... plus if its monday he have to cancel half our trip, on sat we are heading to Starbright's place for 2 days, and then monday going to my parents for the night (SB is about 3 hours from us, and my parents about another 1 1/2 hours from her.) if we do it on monday, we either get to go to SB and come back. or wait do it monday and then head to my folks...dont know which way we will do it yet.. but who really cares!! it will all be because of embryo tf and that is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I had my egg retrieval on Monday morning and they only got 3 eggs which were all fertilised by ICSI. I was really hopeing for more but from the scans they could really only see 3-4 that were matured enough. They were hoping to do the retrieval last Friday but after seeing how many Big one's there were, made me wait until Monday morning.

So I'll be having one transfered on Saturday morning and then we wait and pray! I started the pessaries last night - yucky. It wasn't so bad just felt funny to be doing it I guess :) I'll be having a pregnyl injection Monday morning so it's all go!

Good Luck to those having a retrieval, transfer or currently on the TWW - I'll be joining you on Saturday.

sorry for double posting...but no one else replied and i have updates!!! =P
So got the phone call this morning. 4 out of 5 of our embryos are perfect =) 1 is just shy of it. so because of that she couldnt pick the best one and t/f will happen Monday. totally messes up our easter plans of going away and we are now only going to see Starbright for 1 night (instead of 2) and we wont get to see my parents at all. (although when i tell them they will not mind cause of the reason). the children are already messing up our lives =P.
I am a little disapointed cause i wanted to do just do it, but i know its better to wait and we are leaving it longer cause they are doing so well....if it was to happen today it would be cause they werent doing so well. so our chance of having more to freeze etc are better if we wait. and i guess really..the TWW will be less, even though im just pretending im UTD already even though a lab is caring for my little ones instead of me just yet.

feeling nothing !!, crinone gel is starting to make me feel a bit sensitive and sore and my bloating has gone down a little, still wearing "big "clothes though :-(
my babies are 8 days since fertilisation and i have 9 days to go til BT, but who's counting. LOL !!!
so i'm half way in TWW almost.
my DH wants to know when soonest i can test and i may do one on monday ? that'll be 10 days since fertilisation, but is is two embies so maybe have higher HCG ?
trying not to go crazy in TWW, slept in til 8 am this morning and having a nice relaxing easter .
