Loops, from memory I think they need the hcg levels to reach around 1500 before they can see anything on a scan. (It may be a bit higher or lower, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) I've still got everything crossed for you.
Melissal, I always find my cycles take a while to go back to normal after IVF. The cycle after I usually O a week late but then have a short LP. It seems to take a few cycles to get back to my normal LP. Some women find they get straight back to normal though, so I hope you don't have long to wait.
Terry, my acu wanted 4 months to get the maximum benefit from her treatments because eggs take 4 months to grow from start to finish. Of course, now that I haven't been for 2 months I'll have to start over again...
-
Wow so much has happened in here today. WIll have to catch up on it all later as @ work. Just a quick msg to say unfortunately we will not be having our little miracle anywhere in the next nine months:crying:My Beta has fallen to 11 so AF should arrive very shortly. Just can't believe it was another chem preg, so not fair!!!!!
-
Hey girls,
Renee - I'm  that the test is wrong. Are you going in for another test soon?
Emerald Star - I need to get added to the TWW list - I should have my BT on 17 March!! Hope all is going well for you and bubs!!

A big hi to everyone else!!
AFM: the ET went really well!! I had acupuncture before and after which was sooo relaxing!! I fell asleep during both of them!! And I now have two embies on board!! Just trying to relax now for them to implant. SOOO exciting!!
-
So sorry Renee  It's really not fair
Well EmeraldS I hope you don't mind, but I"ll just update the list (Loops, I'm still holding out hope for you and you're on here. Let me know if I've missed anyone)

Loops – sorry your BT results are still not giving you the answers you want and need, but I am very happy for you that the cheque arrived. 'Pay it forward' is a motto I use in life, because even though you may not get a reward directly from people you give things to, they will learn the feeling of receiving gifts and want to share that with other people. You will be able to teach your child all about paying it forward when they arrive.
Renee – I’m sorry to hear about your chemical, it is very trying to have to go through all of this to get chemicals. Big :comfort: xx
Moonflower ~ Hi – GL for your embies, I hope they are growing nicely ready for your EPU.
Melttc ~ I’m going to sound like my Mum now but you only need 1 good embie! You made me cry when I read that you cried when you told your family about your 2nd IVF cycle. It is so hard what we have to go through, I think sometimes we cry when we talk to other people about it because we genuinely feel really sorry for ourselves having to go through something so unfair. FX and GL
Melissal – I can’t help you with your question re: cycle going back to normal, but I hope your wait is short and sweet before you can start your FET. Sorry about your MIL too, all I can say is you are a better person.
Brunette ~ Hope you are enjoying the 2WW and that of course it goes very quickly with a nice BFP at the end!
Mum-2-Be – Glad to hear the transfer went well. Hope your embies are settling in for their LONG stay!
Tantee – Hope you are doing well.
Miss K and EmStar – hope you are enjoying your pregnancy-ess!
Terry – Glad you enjoyed a lovely weekend with your DH.
JBM, Marcellus and Danyelle and anyone I missed – HI!
AFM – Scan this morning showed 8 follicles so might be down on my last IVF although that was over 18 months ago now so I guess I get less as I get older! Have bloods and another scan on Friday. Still feel like I am just going through the motions really. I thought about acupuncture but I have never done it before hence think it’s not something to start one week out from my EPU!
-
Lairdoz - I started my acupuncture only one week before EPU - and I highly recommend it!! I asked at the time if it was too late, and the acupuncturist said no. I then had one session before ET and one after ET. I must say, I felt so overwhelmed on the way in to the city for the ET, but then after the acupuncture, I felt like I was floating on a cloud. The feeling of relaxation and just total ease was amazing - it really put me in the right frame of mind for the transfer. The afterwards, it helped with the relaxation (the Western doctors are of the view that the greater success rates with acupunture are from the women being in a hightened state of relaxation - and that that is the best state for the embryo to stick - of course no western doctors would every admit that it was because they put the needles in just the right spots!!).
So, in short (!!), if you can go, definately go and get some acupuncture done - it's not too late!!
BTW - how long are we supposed to relax for after the ET? I'm off work till Monday, and trying to convience DH that I need to relax until them (ie. couch with movies all day!!) ...
-
Loops - I am soo soo sorry about your BT results!! I hope something positive comes tomorrow!! And you totally deserve that cheque the person who sent it must know how much of a wonderful you and your DH are and you deserve to have something to look forward to now no more stress
Renee - I am soo sorry to hear about your BETA dropping :(
Leabie - Good luck for your BT today!!!
mum-2-be - lots of sticky vibes for you!!! And you can do normal activities straight away just nothing that raises your body temperature too much :)
Lairdoz - Good luck for tomorrow with your scans etc!!! those little follies grow nice and big :)
Melissal - I wonder how the hell people can just get UTD after they give up its amazing isn't it!!! We go in on the 15th March
Moonflower - I hope everything goes well for you this cycle :)
Melttc - Good luck with your scan today!!
Brunette - How are you going in your 2ww ???
Hello to everyone else I am soo sorry I have been MIA big hugs ladies I have my FX for you all
-
Hi to all you wonderful women.
I have read through some of your journey's and have been touched by your experiences.
To those with a BFP  It give us all hope that our day will come.
To those are waiting for results I hope your time goes quickly with great news at the end.
To those with results that are not is wanted - I am sorry. This journey can be such a hard road at times. I admire your resolve and commitment to continue which ever path you may choose.
I do have a few questions to ask. This is our first ICSI try and I am at the moment on Day 10. I have had a scan yesterday which showed 2 follicles on the rights with one surging ahead it was 16mm and the other was 12 mm. On the left I have only 3 small follicles just under 8 mm.
AS I am of advanced maternal age  44 , they are saying that normally they would cancel but if I wanted to go ahead they will, even though they will probably only get one follicle at this stage.
I am at a total loss as what to do.
Can I continue with the gonal-f so the others catch up and continue with syneral to stop that one from popping?
If we cancel how long would we have to wait to go again.
Should I take the chance as we all know it is only one we need to get pregnant??????
Please any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ladies
Just a quick one today as Im on my lunch break at work. Yesterday I wasnt up to working today I feel bit better, still not sure whats going on with this though.
Firstly: Laridoz ~ Are you then saying what I think you are? If so that is way too generous and we nearly didnt bank it but thought we better because it is so lovely and thoughtful and might seem ungrateful if we didnt. And yes I did have tears when I received it, one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for us!!! I will certainly be continuing the motto "Pay It Forward". Such a nice thing to think of! I will PM you with more.
Still thinking of you and have everything crossed that this is your time, you totally deserve it. I really think the acupuncture helped me this cycle, so Id say go for it.
Renee ~ Im so sorry hun
So close again though, so next time has to be the 1! Hang in there and hope you can have another go soon.
Mum-2-be ~ I wanted at least 2 days rest this time after ET, last time I didnt rest at all and we have got that 1 step closer this time, so perhaps the rest was the key. Dont know how much evidence there is for it but anythings worth a shot. If you have until Mon off even better. GL, FX for you hun.
Marcellus ~ thanks for putting my BT tomorrow on your list and for continuing this great list that Emerald started. Will let you know tomorrow. xo
Jilly ~ thats a hard one, sorry hun. I think maybe hand in there and see if they develop more with the Gonal F. GL
GL to all, hoping for BFPs very soon! xxx
AFM ~ Just want to say a big thanks to you for your kind wishes and support and yes the money was the nicest thing thats ever been done for us, made me cry and we are truly grateful.
-
Jilly, you could maybe try to hold out until the 12mm one matures, but if you try to get the other two the 16mm one may get too big, which can affect the egg quality. You probably don't want it getting much past 24mm.
Renee, I'm so sorry to hear that. :comfort:
mum-2-be, I usually just took two days off work for ET and lounged around the house. I'd also take it easy (no vigorous exercise, etc) for the rest of the 2ww. Don't push yourself - just concentrate on incubating!
Lairdoz, 8 sounds fine. They usually aim for around 10 eggs and you may have a couple of follies hiding where the u/s didn't see them. I'd also second the endorsement for acu. Even starting at this late stage will give you some benefit. If nothing else it is very relaxing.
-
Loops - You must be going crazy with not knowing one way or the other. My thoughts are with you and  for a happy result at the end of all this waiting.
How wonderful that you have been the reciepiant of a "pay it forward". Good luck and fingers and toes crossed.
-
juniper76 - thanks for your advise. I think that is what I will do. Hopefully the scan tommorrow will show a miracle. That is what we are all hoping for one way or another.
-
Wow.....I'm gone for a few weeks and now I can't catch up! I tried going back through but just got confused sorry!
SO I'll just say a big congrats to anyone that has got the good news they were hoping for, big hugs to anyone who needs one :grouphug: and fingers crossed for all those that are waiting for results or EPU's or transfers. I have missed you all and hope you are hanging in there. And hello to any new ones that I don't know yet!
AFM - Sorry I have been MIA, it all got a bit much for me for a while there but am back on doing ok for the moment. Having our FET done on sunday.....am feeling pretty nervous seeing as it's our last frostie and we don't know when we will be able to do another stim cycle (if we have to) BUT I need to stop thinking about that!! I am trying so hard to be positive but don't know how good a job I'm doing. Will keep you posted.
-
Jilly just to add to what Jupiner said sometimes the ones that are so far ahead can also slow down a bit so don't worry to much. The others still have time to catch up
Loops hope everything goes well for you tomorrow i reckon its your month. Someone is definately looking out for you
Renee so sorry this one was not the one. Take the time to look after yourself and I'm sure you'll be back again when you feel ready. It really does take alot out of each of us as the hopes and expectations we have are shattered but I've seen in on here time and time again when ladies feel like they cant do it again after another no then they come back and eventually they get the positive. Hope you can take some inspiration from that I know I do.
AFM I was so excited I received a call from the immunoligist to say they had a cancellation next week and did I want it I felt guilty for a momnet cause it was going to be a short week then thought stuff that my health is more imporatant than work so said yes when is it and then had to say no cause next Thursday there is no way I cannot be at work got people flying down from Sydney especially for a workshop with me. Sorry for the rant
-
Hi Everyone,
Lairdoz, Terry, Mum-2-Be, Brunette, Melttc, Melissal, Thank you for your kind thoughts....
My lap went well and was not as traumatic as I had anticipated, although my DH was a great support. I briefly saw my FS afterwards who said he found more endo (which had only been suspected) than he had expected. Some was removed, however some has adhered to my bowel so was too tricky to remove without damaging it. One tube is definately blocked and I have polycystic ovaries and had some ovarian drilling done. So feels like a complete overhaul!
Have been quite sore but nothing that isn't managable with meds. Looking forward to my visit to FS in a couple of weeks to get more detail on the next step forward.
Loops - what a wonderful gift!!! It makes you realise that there are truly some wonderful people in this world. BTW are you taking any pessaries? Just curious, as I was told on my FET to continue taking them until bt. If pg was confirmed, then they were to be continued for the first 12 wks. When do you find out what all your levels mean???? I feel so badly that you are being kept in such limbo.
Juniper - I will PM you on further lap detail if you like to help give you an idea on what to expect for your lap. You will be fine.
Renee -
Hello to all you other lovely ladies. Sorry for lack of persies but my attention span is still a little bit hazy.
-
wow so much is happening in here now, and i was only just saying that it was a bit quiet.
loops: hope BT goes well tomorrow, good luck to you.. fingers crossed. yeah for the cheque, what an amazing gift and what a generous thing for someone to do. a big hug for them. i want my parents to send me a cheque, just because they love me, but if i waited for that cheque to arrive they'd prob be deceased. i am really hoping all goes weell on fri for you.
melissal: hi
marcellus: hope all is well
danyelle: hi to you
terry: acu is so good, do it. i love it now and it was the girls on BB that suggested i do it, i am so glad they did.
juniper: how are you going?, hope all is well
renee: big hugs 4 you. :grouphug:
mum2b: yeah for ET, acu is so good, wow you must have been so relaxed to fall asleep
good luck TWW, with your two embies. x o:pray:
lairdoz: 8 follies good. yes acu is so good. they usually like you to do it for 3 weeks before a transfer but i never started mine til after my IVF, it was when i was doing my FET's. i love it.
missk: how are you going. hope all is well. when do you have your scan?
jily: i had ICSI, but don't have any answers for you, sorry. hope it all works out. good luck to you.. x
bj81: good luck FET, sending you some positive vibes.:goodluck:
AFM: had FS app today, went well. said i could start whenever i want to , this was good. woohoo.
will prob wait til next month as just want to get a few things out of the way first then it's all happening for me. was a good visit.
so it looks like IVF/ ICSI 2nd cycle to start at end of march and if all goes to plan start of april will be EPU and ET. woohoo. DH wants me to get them extracted and then freeze them all till we finish building our house, but then it'll prob never be finished or when i am 90 years old. MEN !! so annoying.
we'll see what i can do . some bribing.
chat soon.
-
Hi all
Thanks for all the hugs, very much needed. Still feel like crap!!
Just a quick question, has anyone ever used or is using herbs from sharkey's healing centre. Or do you know of anyone who has. Saw her on A Current Affair a couple of years ago, and she has been recommended by a number of people. Just wondering if anyone had any experiences with her.
Hope everyone is doing well, will catch up on personals soon (although that could take me ages!!!)
-
Renee - We tried Sharkeys a few years ago (before IVF) and they were great. Unfortunately we were pretty new to the infertility game and didn't stick with it very long. But I know quite a few people that have had success with them. I know after only a few months on their herbs my cycles started to have some regularity. I would probably go back now if it wasn't for the cost, I would have to give up acupuncture and there is NO way I'm doing that :) Have you looked up their website?

Hi ladies!
Hope you're all well, and everything is progressing nicely, for those of you jabbing and sniffing away. Just a quick post, I feel slack I haven't caught up on personals, there's so many people in here!
Marcellus - could you take me off the list, I'm out, as of yesterday. AF arrived in full force (even though my temp didn't drop - I'm v. confused). Off to drown my sorrows tonight, going out for dinner to celebrate my birthday! Bad timing...
Will keep lurking, but am going to lay low for a few weeks to regroup, till IVF starts later this month. Good luck to everyone in here, I hope all your dreams come true!
-
Hi lovely Ladies
Firstly ~ thank you all for your kind words and loving support for our trying time and also our wonderful "Pay it Forward".
Jilly ~ thanks hun, GL with the follies, hope they grow to a good size, FX for you.
BJ ~ Good to see you back and wishing you all the very best for this next FET.
Terry ~ Sorry you had to cancel the appointment, must be frustrating but you'll have other opportunity, just got to find that right time. x
Tantee ~ Funny you should ask about the pesseries because I was on Crinone but when I had my first blood test and HCG was very low, my nurse and myself were expecting for the HCG to drop then as Id been bleeding so she didnt say continue them, then when my reading went up I suddenly realised I should probably still be using the crinone so I asked and yes Ive started on it again.
I hope the overhaul works wonders and helps you to achieve your dream very soon.
JBM ~ Thanks heaps, sorry your parents can't or wont help you out at all. Im so pleased your FS appointment went well and I really hope you guys get to do FET in April, excited for you x.
Renee ~ Good to see you around, big hugs and I hope you can have another go soon.
Leabie ~ Im so sorry AF arrived - big hugs, hang in there, it'll happen. Happy Birthday!!
Hi to anyone ive missed and all the best with cycles and just life in general. Group hug!
AFM ~ had BT early this morning, so hoping to get the results today and maybe i'll have some indication as to what is going on. I did another POAS yesterday and the 2nd line came up before the control line and darker than it, so if thats any indication hoping its good.
-
Loops, that sounds promising! FX for great results today! :crossfingers:
tantee, I'm glad the lap went well. Sorry to hear he couldn't remove all fo the endo, but I hope the work he did do makes a huge difference! Did you do a bowel prep before the lap? I'm just wondering if he couldn't remove the endo on the bowel because you hadn't done a bowel prep? It seems that not everyone does it, but I've been told to...
Leabie, sorry to hear AF is visiting. :comfort: I hope you can have a great birthday anyway. Are you taking any progesterone? That may explain why your temp is still up? Otherwise, I usually do a HPT if my temps stay up because some women can get AF-type bleeding in early pg. Of course, the HPT has always been BFN when I've done that...
-
Sorry Leabie

Hello Ladies!!!!!!!!!
Wow!! Lots of action in here!
Firstly i want to say.......
Marcellus - Hon, thanks for keeping the list up to date.....i don't mind at all...i just want to see more names on it!!
Loops - babe!! I am so happy that this is a possible BFP for you and i am refusing to think anything else..cause i don't want to send any negative vibes. I am sending you all :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy: in the world!! I am also overwhelmed at the generosity of the "anonymous cheque donor" and to them i would like to say....
" you have the greatest heart ever and may God grant you everything you desire in life, because of your selflessness...you have helped a wonderful and dear friend of mine..Thankyou!!!
To all the other ladies....sorry about the no personals, but for those of you who had negative outcomes this time..remember each time we go through this is another chance of a BFP. GL
-
hi guys
Renee: hugs to you again. x o
leabie: hus for you too, hope you had a nice birthday. xx
loops: hoping for good BT results, how dare they not ring you. argg, now do you have to wait for the weekend to be over?, or will they call you today. praying for a BFP.
juniper, coral and emerald star: hi to you
hi to everyone else too.
nothing new for me. now just waiting for my next cycle in April. here we come 2nd IVF/ ICSI.
-
Leabie - sorry to hear about AF arriving:hug:hope you are doing ok and had a good birthday.
Loops - How are you holding up? Hope BT has a poaitive outcome for you.
JBM - thanks.
BJ - thanks, yeah i have checked it out, not too sure what to do. I have never done accupuncture before and would really like to give that a go also. The herbs sound good but DH is the reason for our difficulty not me so not sure.
Hi to everyone else
ATM - still waiting for AF to arrive! Had some good news that we don't have to wait a cycle and can jump straight into FET. So will start BT's on day 12 of cycle. GL to everyone waiting on BT results or are in the process of a cycle. :p
-
Well just got the call from the clinic and our embryo didn't survive the thaw :( Am so gutted. It's just not fair! Can't afford to do another full cycle until who knows when.....I am seriously losing faith that this will ever happen. Sorry for the rant ladies, don't know how I'm going to pick myself up from this one.
-
BJ - :hug:I'm so so soory hun! It really isn't fair go ahead and rant. Try not and lose too much faith though, i know it is gutting, but you have to keep believing that one day you will get your little miracle. Life can be really sucky sometimes. If you don't mind me asking what is the reason for doing IVF? Is there any chance of you falling naturally? Sorry if thats too personal.
-
No that's ok, I don't mind. Our main problem is DH, very very low count. I have a few issues but nothing severe. Our chances of falling naturally are pretty much impossible unfortunately :(
-
BJ, I'm so sorry to hear your emby didn't survive the thaw. :comfort:
-
Has your hubby tried accupuncture? My hubby has only 1.5% normal morphology and it was recommended that he give accupuncture a go as it is supposed to increase sprem count and improve morphology. He hasn't yet as he is too worried about where they will stick the needles lol!
-
No he hasn't tried it yet, I keep at him to give it a go. He was worried about the same thing (men! They don't think about what we have to go through in all this!) sometimes I think a few needles where it hurts would be good for them! But acupuncture doesn't work like that, there are all different points on the body that relate to other things along the chanels. Points are mostly on hands, legs, feet, stomach and head. It's facinating really, I'm seriously hooked and even thinking of studying it next year. I think I'm just going to make him go! You guys should definitely try it.
Thanks Juniper xxx
-
((((((bj*81)))))) I'm so sorry. Don't be afraid to vent and let it all out. :comfort: Thinking of you
-
FWIW, I've subtly hinted at acu for my DH, but when I told my acu I was trying to talk him into it she said that acu wasn't something you talked someone into - they are either ready to try it or they aren't. Of course, you can still encourage them to be ready to try it. ;)
I've got a friend on another website who was told IVF was their only option. Her DH tried acu and menevit and his s/a results improved so much they tried an IUI while they saved up for IVF. That first IUI worked and they now have a beautiful little boy! It doesn't work for everyone, but it certainly worked for them, so I figure it can't hurt to try!
-
Juniper - You have a very good point. I don't think acupuncture would work if you didn't believe it. But I'll keep trying anyway :)
Thanks tantee xxx
I have just shut myself in my room, watching chick flicks and getting it all cried out. I am just racking my brain trying to figure out a way that we can afford to try again, I don't want a break, I don't want to wait! I just want someone to flick to the back of this story and tell me how it ends!
-
Sorry you got such back news bj
-
bj: hugs for you at this time, the movies are prob a good idea. wish i could make it all better. xx oo
hi to everyone else, sorry i am being slack, no personals. chat soon
nothing new for me today.
