Hi Everyone
Well I had the EPU yesterday and we got only 5 eggs. I was a bit disappointed with such a low number. Our FS was hoping to get 9-10 eggs this time.
My nurse called this morning and 4 have fertilised which is good but I'm worried how many will last til Tuesday. From the 2 previous cycles we've ended up with 2 good ones which is only 1/4.
It's just typical that when I decide to transfer 2 and we might not have 2.
Sorry for the depressing rant. I know I should be grateful and it only takes one etc but I can't help feeling down.
Anyway I hope everyone has a good weekend.
I'm thinking of all our embies and hope they're growing or snuggling in nicely.

n2L we posted at the same time. Glad the pathology results were good. I had a D & C in October and I waited anxiously for AF so I could start another FET. She took 40 days or 5.5 weeks to show which I think is about average.

I know how five eggs may seem disappointing but really, it's not too bad. I only got two and I felt terrible about it but then one of the nurses said lots of women get none. So I guess it's all relative. Doesnt make you feel any better though, does it.
All we need to do is pray we get what we need at the end. I am also hoping to transfer two. Of course, that would require a 100% survival rate for the little guys but I am sure they will be of such a superior quality, there wont be any problems ;) That's what I keep telling myself anyway.... lol

TMI ~ AF was dribs & brabs yesturday not full on but today she is here with a vengance....pain pain pain.... and i just passed a huge clot (size of an orange!!!!) scared the beejeezus outta me!!!
i just wish time would fly!!!!

Hi all
Just heard from my clinic. One of my embies made it to freeze and is now safely away until I can transfer. I am sad both didn't last but I am glad I have one at least. The nurse suggested I may like to do another stim cycle next time so I guess that is something to think about. Any advice gratefully received!

I had my first 2nd BT this morning and have been called back for another on Sunday. I haven't spoken to the nurse yet so beginning to think my dose might change soon.

Syd IVF. The nurses call with directions after the BT's. I have been told to continue and have another BT on Sunday. That seems a bit soon, but all costs are included in our quote so if they wanna keep testing me it's fine. Is it normally every two days?

Willi - I had a bt every two days for a while there but I wasn't responding very well. What day are you? Did they say why the blood tests? Is it just to make sure you are not about to surge?

I am only on third day of injections so I think it's just to check levels. I am sure if there was something really wrong I would know......so maybe every 2 days is normal especially first time round?

williever ~ hun IMO i think it is each different clinics ways of doing things....my first cycle i only have 2-3 blood tests all up and i responded poorly then aswell as this time round...

It is a hassle but they are making sure levels are good, so really can't get annoyed. Every two days it is...

I think you are right katones. Every clinic does things in its own way. I am sure all is fine and normal x

Ain't looking good for us. Scan today showed next to nothing happening and E2 is only 800 after 9 days of stimming. I don't understand how I can go from borderline ohss to no response in a year. We go for another scan and BT on Monday but not feeling particularly hopeful that things will proceed.

AFM - We were having a chat last night and DP said he wants us to do another full stim cycle next month (or whenever my cycle starts again). I think it makes sense given we have only one bubsicle on ice and the FS wanted to implant two. If I only do a thaw cycle and it doesnt stick (or even make it through the thaw) then I have to wait another cycle to try again. And I feel at my age, every month counts. I guess it depends on advice from the FS.
I feel like I am doing a really horrible 2ww not knowing how long it will take for my cycle to kick into gear after the D&C...
Ah well...what else would I be doing with my time and headspace if not obsessing about this lol

nothing2lose ~ hun that seems like a good plan :) will you have to have the OCP to start with again?? down reg cycle??
AF 'should' arrive on the 11th of next month and hopefully i will start the OCP that day :)

Williever - My clinic did BT on days 4, 6 & 8 to start with, which I think is probably the norm for my clinic. Did they change your dosage? What a great start to your cycle with a good follie count.
Happy baby - How are you feeling after your EPU? FX that you get a couple of nice little blasties happening. It is a nervewrecking time.
Oneday - Woo Hoo!!! Big Congrats. Your numbers sound really great. Plenty of sticky vibes to you xx
Melissa – I’m so sorry that you haven’t had a great start. Is it a different protocol from last year? I know that there can be big differences in each cycle. My last stim cycle was great, but the one before was abysmal. What is the colarado

N2L - What did your FS say in regard to your endo? Here is hoping that your little frostie is a super embie! Yes, it really only takes one, that's all it takes in a 'normal' conception, so your little embie has as good as chance as any.
It is a personal choice I suppose re another cycle, if your thaw is unsuccessful it would be devestating. Now that you have chosen to do a fresh cycle, do you have to wait about 2 months before they like you to stim again? I know what you mean about feeling the time go buy. Good luck, I hope the wait is not too excruciating for you!!
katones - big hugs to you, I know that there is not a whole lot I can say that will make you feel any better about it. I’m so sorry that this cycle didn’t work out for you and that AF is being such a b*tch When will your next cycle be?

Saffy – A great big hug for you as well. I hope that your time away will be a good distraction for you, but I know that is hard because TTC is always in the back of our minds. Take care of yourself and try and spoil yourself a bit.
JBM, Loops and anyone I may have missed – HI!
AFM – I am finally in my TWW. I had ET yesterday and ended up deciding to transfer only 1 embie. This is my first FET with this clinic and also with a blastocyst so thought I’d play it on the safe side. So they thawed one hatching blast that apparently froze 100% intact. (First time I have got 100% in anything since year 4 maths !) If this cycle doesn’t well, I will try for 2 next time.
My transfer went much more smoothly than last time. I actually ended up seeing a hypnotherapist to help me out with my anxiety and I think it actually worked! She also gave me breathing exercises to help calm me down as well. BT is on the 22nd .

tantee ~ i am actually handling it better than i thought would :) i will hopefully (fingers crossed they can fit me in) start the pill next month then go from there...another full down reg cycle

n2l - I think I would also be doing another stim cycle in your situation. I hope that little eggie survives, but it's good to try for more. Will you be able to start again soon?
tantee - I think you are right. It does make sense that it would be 2,4, then 6 just to keep an eye on things. When they call with tomorrow's results I will check if everything's ok.... not sure what could be not ok at this point. Trying to go on as 'normal' and let them do all the hard work. The hypnotherapy sounds interesting. I def. need to learn some breathing techniques!
Melissa - I hope the scan and BT show positive signs :hug:
afm - day 4 of injections. Last night didn't hurt a bit. I have noticed though that I am sleeping like a baby after the jabs.....Maybe it was just a long week. Can't complain though if that's a side effect! Not feeling hungry, which is very unlike me! and been having a few headaches - need to step up the water drinking! That's about all. BT tomorrow morning and then we'll see what they say. Ticking along ok though:thumbsup:

Had the BT this morning. And for the third time two nurses fished around for a stubborn vein. I am worried they may need to use my hands as the bruising is covering the area. I tried drinking lots of water..........any other tips for a (apparently only one is good enough) shy, deep vein? It's getting painful now (sadface).

As per my current cycle schedule due to the fact the trigger jab will keep it on track! Yay! I think...lol

N2L ~ Thats great that you can get right back into it no problems and do another STIM cycle =) hope the TWW goes quick and painless and AF comes and goes and then you can get into it!!!! yay!! and its good to hear that stuff they found wasnt anything too nasty.
JBM ~ hope the next 9? days go quick for you and you can take the next step in getting things started
Williever ~ lots of water is good, keep it warm, and below your heart can help. I only know from trying to get blood from people...and i'm not very good at it =P my own veins pop out like no tomorrow so the pathologists just have to look at me and they have blood. My FS did mention that one of the side effects of the injections are being sleepy. do you know when about you will be ready for the pickup?

AFM ~ well we had our first FS appointment. He checked me out and all my bits are perfect =) I was even ovulating at the time. he said all I need is some sperm in me and i would be UTD. So now we are just waiting for AF so I can start the down reg cycle and take my OCP (crazy) and then we will start =) I had weird feeling to start...like its really happening..but now i'm excited again =)
EDIT: LOOPS!!! HI!! *big hugs* try and enjoy it, try not to think about it (i know i know...why even bother saying stuff like that cause we all know it is impossible. whats with the waiting for results from before xmas?? surely they are done and ready by now??

Teirae - woohoo for things starting, its always pretty exciting when you get to that point. Yeah, I didn't get the whole having to start the pill when you are desperately trying to get preggers!! I noticed on your post to Williever that you have taken blood in the past - just curious, are you a nurse/phlebotomist? My job is to actually process all the blood samples (hence ivf and privacy at work for me is an issue). I have drainpipe veins too but just on one arm, the other is crap and noone can get anything off it!
Loops - hiya - how is the patient doing? Hope he is healing well. That is a bugger that you will have to wait for a bit before you can try again, what tests did you get done (if you don't mind me asking)? You have def hit the nail on the head there, saying at least you have each other. DH and I have been constantly reminding ourselves of that lately, that we as a couple is the most important thing in this whole journey. But a bub would be great too.
N2L - YAY for being able to start a stim cycle again so quickly :)
Williever - how did you BT go? Happy jabbing and keep chugging down that water!
Tantee - that is the really weird thing, other than doing Colorado this time round, my protocol was EXACTLY the same even down the the Puregon dose so we really don't know what was going on. We are doing colorado this time as I have quite a few autoimmune issues (coeliac, thyroid, ana) and by taking aspirin and steroids, it will hopefully just quieten my immune system down enough to stop trying to boot out my poor little embies. We also get antibiotics thrown in to prevent any infections cos of my dumbed down immune system plus extra oestrogen too. Hate hate hate progynova tabs but if they help, then that is awesome, just get absolute killer migraines and fatigue on them. Wow, a perfect thawed hatching blast - that is awesome :) GL and hope the 2ww isn't too awful for you.

Well, we had another scan and BT today and what a turn around! We went into our appointments today fully expecting to be cancelled but we have gone from next to no follies to 12 over the weekend. E2 has more than quadrupled since Friday so we are much much happier. Trigger tonight with EPU on Wednesday. We've got 5 decent sized follies atm plus another 7 tiddlers at about 7 - 9mm, anyone have any idea what our chances are of them catching up enough by Wednesday? Unlike last cycle, we still have to have our super duper shot of Puregon tonight so I'm hoping that along with the trigger might give a few of them a fighting chance. Thank you so much for your support, we were pretty devastated on Friday

I use to take blood a few years ago when i worked in an emergency department...I'm just out of practice I guess, these things you have to keep doing to keep up your skills. all the best for wednesday!!! awesome you levels jumped, and heres hoping there is lots of little eggies there waiting to get picked up =)

Well results from BT on Sunday indicated I should start Cetrotide, so last night we started that along with gonal F. My next BT is Wednesday along with a scan. I am guessing (and I have no idea about this) that pick-up could be Friday/Sat, but of course I could be totally wrong. I am also assuming there will be eggies to pick-up! I have got the morning off for my scan so that I don't have to stress out. And I have pre-warned the boss about the possibility about being off on Friday. I needed that out of the way as it was waking me up and stressing me out. I am learning from others and know that I need to reduce the stress levels. Thank you tipsters:heartbeat:
So tonight we continue with the injections. I think we've done really well so far, but the stressful parts are coming up. It feels like time has flown by.......if we get a succesful transfer I probably wont be saying that in the tww:hide:

AFM - Day 8 had scan this morning so waiting for instructions from FS! Such an anxious wait as we all know anything can happen from here and i have several cancelled at this stage so waiting waiting waiting in hope.
I had about 12 follies sized from 10mm to 17mm so hopefully there is one good one in there..

afm - Sooooo bloated now. Walking is painful and my trousers are getting tight. I am so worried about being over-stimulated (or whatever you call it)!! ugh UNCOMFORTABLE! DH made me bleed last night with both injections......dropped the needles whilst they were in!! Bruised today :(

AFM the FS said i am good to go so pick up on Monday which is exciting!!
Can you believe i actually threw my Gonal F in the bin this morning meant to have 450 in the morning and 300 at night got home to do my injection tonight and nowhere to be found luckily my dosage goes down from tomorrow and i have enough to get me thru as im in Sydney and my clinic is in Brisbane, my brain is mush not working at all scary!!
