Hey everyone,
Just had some really bad news - DH has been really ill for a few years with terrible headaches and they have just done some more tests and today said they are pretty sure it is a brain tumour in his pituitary gland! He is only 27 poor boy. He hasnt had the MRI yet but they said pituitary gland creates all your hormones and his are totally skewiff so they are really surprised his sperm was ok for ivf and it might have been our last chance!! So this 2ww is even more nerve wracking (and those 2 frosties even more precious).
I am sooooo mega nervous now! I just cracked & booked in to the GP for friday to get my BT cos I can't wait until 19dp5dt when my clinic does it! Friday will be 16dp5dt so you'd think it'd be pretty accurate right? Also considering doing a HPT for the purpose of breaking my news to myself gradually.
sorry no personals & this prolly belongs in 2ww thread ... sorry but hope and pray everyone's dreams come true this cycle!!
-
Saraz: aw chick my heart just broke for you I hope that dh firstly is fine and hope it is not what they think it is and two hopefully this round works for you also if it is a tumour you can ask about having sperm collected and frozen I was reading a story the other day at the hosp waiting for u/s and this bloke found out he had cancer when he first got together with his wife so they collected a heap of sperm and had it frozen 17 years later they now have two healthy babies and they are his biological children but chin up and hope for the best keep us updated chick

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in quite a while, but after an (seemingly) agonising 4 month wait I am back in the game and currently on day 6 of stims with a new FS and clinic. There are so many new names in here! So please forgive me whilst I get my head around who's who. I do remember a few of you but am also pleased to see many of the old names are no longer here and I am hoping that it is for good reason and that they are all UTD!
Saraz - I really hope that all is OK with DH and FX that this cycle is the one.
Baby dust to all, wherever you are in your cycle.

Hi all,
Saraz - wow - you've got some stuff to deal with there, it's a good thing you're so strong and such a trooper. I'm so sorry about your DH. I really can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. At least the 'business' part of this cycle is over so you can be there for him. God I hope this one works for you :crossfingers:. My clinic tests about 10 days after a 5 day transfer, which I think is the absolute earliest it can be done. I haven't asked them why. I guess doing it later must reduce the chance of getting an unclear result. Good on you for taking matters into your own hands and good luck
Tantee - hi - it must be weird coming back when everyone you know has moved on. Hi anyway - hopefully you'll meet them all in the pg threads very soon
Gotta go - fav show is starting

Hello lovely ladies,
I'm now officially back in here. Had u/s on Tuesday, there was no heartbeat. So had D&C yesterday. I guess that having that week to accept that it was not going to be a 'viable' pregnancy (you have to love the way FS puts it!) it made Tuesday and yesterday much easier. I'm now focusing on moving forward. Getting back into the TTC. Hopefully in late August my body will be on track to undergo another FET - except for this time it will be a viable pregnancy (positive thoughts!!). So, here I am ~ just waiting for my body to return to normal...
There are a few familiar faces (names!!) so hello!!
Aurion & Amy ~ Welcome!! I agree with Dreams, the ladies in here are so supportive and understanding. It is a great place to be able to share your highs and your lows. Wishing you all the best (and that your time in this thread is quick!).
Want & Saraz ~ :crossfingers: for your TWW!!
Trishy ~ Hoping that AF hasn't arrived and that you get your BFP!
Saraz ~ I'm so sorry to hear about DH. Definitely hoping that this round is a success and gives DH something to lift his spirits. As for telling people, it is entirely personal. The first time, most people knew (we are not really 'private people'). However it didn't end up working (something wrong with the embryo), and it was difficult to deal with, let alone telling other people who were really excited for us. However, if you have supportive people around you, it can be a good thing to tell them because even if it doesn't work out as planned, you will have people around you who can help. As for work, I have a great relationship with my boss, so he knew all along (both tries). It has been great this time as I have had most of last week of and all of this week off. He knows what has happened and has told me to take off all the time I need. If he didn't know, he would be wondering why I was having so much time off (as I never take sick leave). So, although my experience of telling a couple of people was good, if you are a private person, then maybe its not as good to tell people. That really was a long winded way of saying - it really is a personal choice!!
Dreams ~ 6 weeks is not a long time!! It definitely is really exciting (except for the jabs - but it is worth it in the end!). GL!!
Kaybee ~ I hope that you are coping as well as can be expected. I totally understand your thoughts about the pregnant women - especially this last week, I just want to cry - I wonder, why is it so easy for them? But, I guess what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. Even now when I look around, all I see are pregnant women and small children! Its unfair, but we will have our turn.
Tantee ~ Hello again, unfortunately we are both back here! Wishing you the best of luck for this cycle.
ehm ~ I had been storking the tww while I was in the pg thread (sometimes it is hard to move threads altogether!). Sorry it didn't work for you. But fingers crossed it will this time.
Sorry if I have missed anyone!!
-
huge hugs saraz.i kinda know what you are going through.when we did out iui attempt in december, the day after having it done we found out my mum has aggressive breast cancer.thinking of you.
-
Mum2be: aw hun I was so hoping everything would work out fine for you hugs and glad to hear your moving on and thinking positive just remember don't push yourself hugs hugs hugs
-
Sarah - GBH's What a terrible time for you.
Mum-2-be - GBH to you also. I hope your recovery is speedy.
Hi everyone else!
-
Mum2be so sorry things didn't work out for you. Hoepfully your body bounces back quickly and you can get back on track soon
Saraz so sorry to hear about your DH. Hopefully its not that bad for him. Don't worry about being too stressed during a cycle our bodies can still do amazing things under intense pressure. I've read stories of women going through so much stress in other parts of their lives during a cycle and still managing to get a postive result.
Porsche hope Af turns up soon for you so you can get started with your cycle
Trubabe hope you get some answers on what is going on with your body
Hi to everyone I've missed have a great weekend
AFM just waiting for AF to turn up hopefully next week so I can start another cycle again.
-
Hi Lovely ladies
Hi Ladies
Kaybee ~ So sorry hun, Feeling for you. Id try and get a D&C. Ive heard and read that those that do have it get back into TTC quicker because their bodies get back to normal quicker. But I guess maybe its better for the body to wait. A big decision, GL hun xo
Ehm ~ Welcome. So sorry about your BFN's and I hope you can get some answers very soon, GL
Aurion ~ Well done and GL with the rest of the jabbing and your IVF cycle.
Amy ~ Hope time goes quick for you!
Trishy ~ Still have :crossfingers: for you! Dont give up, hope they are pg signs and not AF!
Mum-2-be ~ Hi hun, hope you are doing ok - so sorry about your m/c (((GBH))). Hoping your body gets back to normal ASAP.
True ~ Feel for you and DH, I know what its like as you know. Dont give up just yet and remember you still have IVF to fall back on. You guys will get there! As Porche said - they've done the insem so there must be some hope. FX and GL hun xoxo
Porche ~ Hope AF arrives soon and everything goes well, GL hun.
Trubabe ~ Big hugs. Dont know much about pre-manapause but what the others have said sounds good. There are obviously ways around it if it is that, stay strong if ya can xo
Wantaminime ~ Excellent - GL in TWW hun, Fingers x'd!
DIR ~ Thanks chicky :) Good on your DH so great he is so strong willed. My DH is trying very hard lately too. Bring on Aug for you! Hope it comes round quick.
Saraz ~ So sorry about DH, thats very heartbreaking. for you both that its something else and also that your little emby sticks hun (((GBH))).
Tantee ~ Welcome back and GL sweetie x
Terry ~ Hi, hope AF returns very soon.
WOW that was a lot. Sorry if ive missed anyone. GL all
AFM ~ I said I wasnt going to track this month but I had alot of EWCM yesterday and so decided to do a Maybe Baby and Im ovulating. DTD a couple of times this week, incl last night (sorry TMI) so now will be crossing fingers. Although DH and I are both sick with the dreaded flu so perhaps not holding our breaths this month. Yesterday I also felt that my bb's were a bit sore - so Im a little hopeful that maybe we have already conceived - would be so amazing if we have but if not we have our IVF in Oct to focus on.
-
Thanks everyone for being so lovely - such a week! Just couldn't help dropping in to say we did get our ray of sunshine - POAS at the GP today was a BFP!!! so thankful, confused, elated, trying not to get my hopes up, worried about DH's tumor, everything all at once! But mainly astonished and excited!! This is the first BFP ever that we know of so we are just so relieved that it's even possible for us especially since this might have been our last chance. Of course still waiting on a proper BT to see if the levels are okay.
Trueblue that's an amazing story, we'll definitely be looking in to getting some sperm frozen it might already be too late though - just incredible timing that we got this cycle in before DH's levels took a turn for the worse.
Terry - looks like you're right about stress I don't know how this has managed to go well considering!!
Tantee - welcome back, hope it's a short stay this time!
Kaybee, thanks for being always a great source of support & info.
Mum2be - thanks for your thoughts on who to tell, they were really interesting. We *might* tell a couple of our favourite close friends if the BT looks ok next week just so we have some support. That's who we WANT to tell, on top of the compulsory family news-mongers who always manage to say the wrong thing who I am only really telling b/c they would be angry if I didn't!
Trubabe - sounds like you probably know exactly how I'm feeling... Happy-hopeful-sad-worried. Even if anything happens to have DH I'll always want to have a part of him in his children and would still have my FET's down the track.
Porsche - thanks for your kind words. Not long to wait for you I hope.
Loops sounds like a promising month, good luck!!
Sara
-
Oh Saraz im so thrilled for you, on your little miracle. Will have everything crossed that he/she snuggles in well for the next 9months. GL hun xo
Thanks for your wishes - I certainly wont be geting hopes up too much but we just can't give up :-)
-
OMG Saraz thats fantastic news.i had everything crossed you would get a BFP. yes its like your feelings are torn in different directions at the same time.im here if you ever need someone to talk to :D
-
meant to say good luck to you too Loops.i hope you get a natural BFP
AFM-spotting finally stopped.Have an appointment at Natural fertility service Aug 12th (2 days before my bday).they said hopefully giving me some natural progesterone will help get my cycle more regular and stop the spotting.Saw gp this afternoon to get champix to kick my smoing habit.and hopefully once i do i can get DP too and hopefully his swimmers will start improving too.ive been setting up the pen and washing the dogs blankets getting ready for late next weekish.Lily doesnt seem too keen on nesting there even though its where she camped out for weeks with her last litter of puppies
-
Hey Ladies,
Sara - Yay!!! Woohoo!!! Breathe on me so I can catch it too  When's your 'official' BT?
Trubabe - Surely your dog's puppies will do something to your hormones and get things happening for you. Good luck with the champix - I want to get DH onto it, but don't want to push. Let us know how it goes.
Loops - how unreal would it be to fall this month - not that you're trying or thinking about it (sure!!). Thanks for your hugs.
Mum-2-be -:comfort::hug::comfort: Sorry sista. It sucks. That's all I can say - it just sucks. (Hope we can be cycle buddies next time round)
I saw FS the other day and he said not to do a D&C. So now I just have to wait till hcg drops below 5. Last time it took a couple of months so I am VERY frustrated at the moment.... and taking it out on everyone
Have a dilemma (should ask the TTC after MC group too) - got a thing on saturday night with a bunch of friends, most of who are pregnant. My bro and SIL (who are due when my last pg would have been due) will be there, one couple have only just announced and I suspect one lot are going to announce on saturday - so pg will be a very hot topic as will questions regarding my next one. Don't know whether to go. Don't want to sit home feeling sorry for myself for the rest of my life, but if going means feeling like s##t for the next week then don't want to do it to myself. What would you do?
Sorry to everyone I've missed, just felt like being self-absorbed today
-
Kaybe: aw how frustrating couldn't you go see your GP and ask to have one down for your own mental health. I can't even imagine how that would feel I remember about a year ago my nanna when we first announced that we were trying and having trouble told me a story that only one or two people have ever heard I knew she had alot of miscarraiges and mum was their only sucess but one of the times she carried almost full term until the baby stopped moving one day she knew something was wrong and the doctors didn't believe her just brushed her off she miscarried and for about two weeks was passing one baby part at a time she said it was horrific I think she said that was the last one they tried they were then going to go adopt but were turned down cause they were too old.. broke my heart and I just wished that this miracle of science that has given us ladies that glimmer of hope through AC was available to her back then. SO I can only imagine how traumatic and sad it would be for you huge hugs and hope they put you out of your misery soon... were all here for you chick hopefuly next round they can fix this problem and you'll have the stickiest little bubba that'll go over the due date and be a stubborn little bugger
-
Congratulations Sarah!That's fantastic news!
-
Trubabe ~ thanks heaps hun, would be a very wonderful miracle. Im so pleased your spotting has stopped and that you now have some direction and things you can do to improve things, GL hun xo and GL with Lily - ohhh I love puppies.
Kaybee ~ thanks chicky - nuh not thinking about it at all ;). LOL it's so hard not too.
Sounds similar to my last m/c - I think if the HCG is already pretty low and it was a very early m/c they prefer to let things happen naturally rather than D&C. I guess they know what is best. But I know how frustrating it is hun, here for you. Hope the time goes quick. Everyone is different but I think Id go to the party. For one I love socialising (even though Im shy- sounds weird I know) and 2 I love the fact that my sis is pg and ill be an aunty again - so love seeing her with pg belly.
True - that's so sad about your nanna, must have been very hard back then. xoxo
-
Hi Ladies,
Just thought I would pop my head in again....its been ages since my last post.
I am still TTC. Just returned from an O/S holiday and I think I will need 3 months to detox after all the bad food and alcohol I consumed. Oh well, I really needed to let my hair down and not think about TTC.
Not sure when IVF#3 will be...need to consult the naturapath, acupuncturist, fertlility specialist, the stars, the moon etc....
On a serious note, it may be later in the year...I really need to get in the right frame of mind....
-
How wonderful to read of some good news in this thread at the moment (congratulations saraz!).
I've been trying to stay positive in the lead-up to my egg collection on Tuesday, I was told on Friday that I've got six good-sized follicles growing (I was expecting more, but my nurse said that's good for the first time around? *scratches head*) and have been feeling very tired today. Trying to listen to my body and take it easy. How have some of you gone with the amount of follicles seen on ultrasound versus the number of eggs you ended up with after collection?
-
AF arrived last night, so have to try and organise an appointment tomorrow with FS
Saraz hugs huni, what a lot to deal with. Hope things are going well for your tww to a BFP.
-
Hello lovely ladies,
I havent been in here for a little while. Ive had the flu/bronchitis/gastro - what a lovely combination!!!!
Congratulations Sarah!!! Thats fab news! Ive got everything crossed thats things go well for you and hubby :)
Trishy - Sorry to hear A/F has arrived, good luck with the FS!
Aurian - I hope you start feeling better soon, rest up. Remember you only need one for that healthy little baby!
Kaybee - I know what you mean about being around pregnant people all the time. I served a lady at work the other day with her 6 week old baby. I swear my ovaries were turning just looking at bubby.
Trubabe - Puppies....how exciting!!!!!!! I love puppies :)
AFM - Well im counting down the days! We have our appointment with the nursing coordinatior on 27th July (yay only 9 more days!). Cant wait to just get started. DH flies in from work on Thursday and I cant wait, ive really struggled with him away this swing, I miss him like crazy. We are heading down south with some friends on Friday to celebrate my birthday. Its going to be lovely to chill out and relax.
Aim x
-
Saraz how could I miss your good news yesterday. Congratulations
Had my blood test today and spoke to the nurse, she checked the computer and the doct has order an antogonist cycle next up. She said I could start straight away if I want but will call FS and just have a chat about the cramping etc
Anyone gone back to back, whats your thoughts?
-
the puppies havent arrived yet :( but the change in lily over night i think things may start in next few days.i think her belly has dropped since yesterday morning.and last night she was like the energizer bunny but this morning its like someone has disconnected her batteries lol.so hoping they are her by later this week or at latest early next week.Cmon lily i wanna see how many furbabies you have stashed in there lol.last litter she had five.this time when she sits down her teats are resting on her feet,i have nicknamed her daisy lol.will post pics either on here or leave a link for facebook when they arrive so you all can see the little wrinkly bundles :) BTW lily and bear are both shar peis (rolly dogs) in case anyone was wondering what sort of puppies we are expecting
-
Just a quick one from me. (sorry for the me post)
Had EPU today after only 9 days of stimming. We managed 5 'good looking' eggs. Just praying and hoping that all goes well and most fertilise. Will find out tomorrow.
EPU was a lot less traumatic than last time, so am feeling only a tiny bit sore and tired. (Had 12 eggs and slight OHSS last time) What a difference!
Saraz, Congratulations, here is hoping that that the next few months will be less stressful than you anticipate. My thoughts are with you.
Will be waiting with baited breath for 'the call' tomorrow.
Take care everyone.
-
Hi ladies
melttc ~ welcome back hun. Sounds like you had a great holiday. GL with all the TTC mumbo jumbo again lol

Aurian ~ Good luck today, will have FX you get some good eggies.
Trishy ~ Good luck with the FS hun - hugs. I havent done back to back before but plenty of people do. Im doing an antagonist cycle next too - to try and get more eggs next time.

Trubabe ~ Hope the puppies are close now, GL. They will be gorgeous Im sure, can't wait to see pics x
Tantee ~ Well done on the 5 and Im glad you dont have to worry about being in pain this time. GL for the phone call, hope they all fertilise and do well, FX
AFM ~ My :cold: is easing thankfully, if I have conceived I hope the lil one is fighting through all my cold and infections lol. About 9 days until I can maybe test.
-
Lily is in early labour now,so hopefully puppies will be here in next 48 hrs at most.she has a heap of signs and her temp has dropped half what it needs to since late yesterday arvo.we are both resting today ready for a long night either tonight or tomorrow night lol.Lily decided it would be a great idea to wake daddy at three am this morning and lay against him and if he moved his hand away from her she would tap it back with her paw,and breathing had changed some.this went on for about an hour before he woke me asking for torch so could take both dogs out for loo break.DP wakes me saying "baby wheres the torch i think shes getting close " lmao.when i texted him to say temp had started dropping he replies with does that mean shes nearly ready to drop??. lol bloody men have no idea sometimes.
-

Plus I slipped when we went to snow on Sunday so I think I hurt it more then

Trubabe ~ thanks for adding me on FB :)
Ohh how cute - they are goregous, love puppies. No more for us we had our girl spade because she had 3 ceasors (dont know how its spelt). Have fun with them and a cuddle for me.
Terry ~ big thanks hon. So glad AF arrived for you and you can get started, GL!
-
thanks loops and terry.DP finally got to see them and he has been giving lily plenty of praise.even though i was hand feeding her earlier i told her last few days that when she had puppies i would buy her a burger.so detoured to hungry jacks on way to getting DP from work and she inhaled nearly two whole ones with barely chewing them,i think she was a lil hungry lol.im down the other end of our house sitting on our bed typing and can hear their little noises every so often.figuring out nicknames for them at the moment as our first litter was named after the dogs in the movie snowbuddies lol
-
Truebube how exciting, we are all like aunties the way we were waiting for the puppy news.
ATM day 2 of pill popping 12 more days to go.
