LT TTC & Assisted Conception July-Aug 2010

Ok Ladies here is an update as to where DH and I are at.

We had a good talk. Well my DH is really the perfect man. I talk and he listens lol.
We have decided to have a couple of cycles off. The last cycle really knocked me around emotionally if not physically. I am still feeling teary constantly and am not myself at all. For some reason I feel so much pressure to do the next cycle straight away but the only person pressuring me is myself. I am really not mentally healthy enough to go straight into another cycle. So I am going to take each cycle as it goes and if I feel well enough I will start my next cycle. I really believe you need to be in the right frame of mind as well as physically healthy to do IVF. So I need to take a moment to forgive myself and get myself together again. I think at the most I will be defering my treatment for two cycles. I am meant to be starting in three weeks.
So to rest relax and not even think about Baby Making we booked a holiday to Bali for eight days today for november and I also booked my self into a scuba dive cousre to keep me busy. It works out I will be due to start the week after we get back so that would be perfect timing if we decided to go ahead.

So in a nut shell I will call in periodically to see how everyone is going but not too often. Hopefully most of you will have moved on when I get back

Looks like I'm in for pick up on Monday:) My numbers are the same as last time so I'm feeling good. Out for dinner with friends tonight and will need to sneak off for the final shot!

WAMM: I agree and I hope that the holiday makes nyou super relaxed and back to feeling like you again.
AFM: Well tonight is second puregon and on wed I start the orgalutran and then bt thursday and u/s friday and if all good trigger that night and then egg collection if not good then we just have some more jabs and another u/s so it's all happening really quick for us which is great but scarey as this is our first round and hoping and wishing so bad that we finally get our bfp.

Wantaminime, that sounds great! my DH and i are going to fiji in oct and i think its the best thing for us ladies under so much stress. It hurts me to here your so sad and upset with your self because thats how i feel too, everyone always says 'its not your fault' or 'it just wasn't the right time' but i truly do partly blame my self for loosing our baby and its such an incredibly hard thing to move on from after wanting it for so long, it really seeems like a cruel act from above. But im happy that you can find some other happiness to help you recover. If this cycle im on dosn't work i also am having 3-4 months off due to needing another STIM cycle and heaps of $ again, this kills me inside but i know that it will prob be the best thing for me to try and focus on something else in life. just a quick question on FET how much do you guys pay for having the eggs frozen and then thawed etc and also how they do it?

Kass I am more tired than usual when I get to the business end of cycle but my DD is an early bird up at 6 today. I would kill for a sleep in. When is your pick up?

ATM had EPU yesterday got 6 eggs, have transfer on Thursday

Hey trueblue, all clinics are a bit different in price i think but it cost me $275 for 6 months of freezing (no rebate on this). For a frozen cycle it cost me $2395, this includes everything as well as thawing the embryo. If you have a natural cycle, with my clinic they still charge you the same price even know there is no medication needed, not sure why this is i think they don't charge you for the medication or something in this kind of cycle? With theses cycles i got back $1395 roughly so out of pocket $1000. With the thawing, im not sure about a day 3 embryo because i only had day 5's and 1 day 6 embryo but with the day 5 embryo's they get it out the day before transfer and with my day 6 embryo they only got it out the same day as transfer, so it was still unthawed in the middle but could see it was progressing because the outside of the embryo where it had thawed was puffing up nicely. Wantaminime - Bali sounds great. it will be good to have something to take your mind off everything and have a trip to look forward to. It definitely takes it out of mentaly and physically and sounds like you deserve a good break.It will probably be the best thing for you. Good luck.

Loops - I hope what you are experiencing are prgnancy symptoms! Keep us posted on what happens!
AFM - Still sniffing Synarel and have noticed a couple of side effects (headaches and hot flushes and the occassional quesy tummy)
I go for a scan on Thursday. For those of you girls that have done a down regulation cycle, did you start injections immediately after scan (presuming it was all clear)??

I had my pick up today - it went pretty well, just feeling a bit bloated now!

Kass how many eggs did you get? I have the same reaction after EPU.

I start the crinone tonight, 1st time and I have look at all my information and it doesnt say how long I need to take it. Must ring them tomorrow.

Trishy if your starting cronine today they most probably will want you to kept taking it during the 2ww at least that's what i had to do with one of my cycles. Hope your cold is clearing up and your getting ready for Thursday

My daughter is sick again. I had a late night 12 am and then she was awake most of the night between then and 6 am I am stuffed.

Hi Trishy - I got 7 which I'm pretty happy with, but I'm still waiting to find out how many have fertilised so I'm not relaxing just yet. In fact I feel like the easy bit is done, it's the waiting I hate the most.

Yes I hate the waiting too. I dont ring to find out as I think it does my head in, I wait to the transfer so I am at least as mentally prepared as possible. Whens your transfer?

Danni- I am on syneral and didn't even do a scan, just had a blood test yesterday, which was all good, so start my injections on Thursday night. Not sure how it is worked out but looks like everywhere has their own system. I am lucky I haven't had any side effects really ( so far lol)

Trueblue- sounds like its all happening now, I hope you and all of us get our BFPs soon. How are your injections going? I start mine Thurs :dance:

wantaminime- sounds like a good plan to me, you are being sensible and I hope you get some peace and relaxation and are ready to start afresh when you feel like it, enjoy Bali!

Hi everyone else, good luck with whatever stage you are at.

I'm over my cold it went quickly after I rested for 2 days, had a relaxing weekend away, got AF and now am looking forward to starting my jabs and getting on with it!

Gday ladies yes jabs going well started orgalutran this morning at 4am lol before going for the cows was fine during but after stung like all buggery but soon settled down so no where near as bad as I was expecting. Night jabs of puregon going sensationally don't feel a thing. BT tommorrow and then U/s on friday morning so will know what's happening then hope that we get the go ahead for trigger then it's onto the crinone.
Trishy: Hope your dd feels better soon lots of mummy hugs should help
Kass: 7 is a good number hope you get a few embies and soon followed by a bfp
Saffy: Gl with the jabs what are you going to be on? they seriously are nothing to worry about I had alot of issues with the synarel the worst was the hot flushes thankfully only had synarel for one cycle but no more for me it gave me a cyst.

Sorry gunna do a bit of a 'me' post:
Its been a bit of an emotional week so far. DH is hardly talking to me and I have no idea what ive done. I did get pretty drunk on Sat night at my friends 30th (DH didnt come) and ever since I got home he's been like this - arrhh men :wall:
As for my cycle - I did POAS on Sat morning and BFN - hence why i drank at the party. Woke up with a killer sore lower back and have had back/tummy pain ever since. I dont know whether my pelvis might be out but hoping its pregnancy and the test was just too early. But last night and today Ive started to get headaches and usually that's a bad sign for me. I just dont feel confident anymore and now Im starting to worry about the IVF in Oct - that we wont be able to come up with the money and then that it wont work again - especially given DH is stressing me out etc and basically in a really crap place right now :cry: Sorry for the negativity - just really needed to vent.
I think I'll do another test tomorrow just so I know one way or the other for sure.

On a happier note: Im very happy for you ladies that have had good transfers and EPU's - :crossfingers: for lots of up-coming BFP's including you True! xoxo

loops: aw hun that sucks that dh is giving you the cold shoulder and making life difficult he goes out and enjoys himself and forgets about things so why can't you maybe you need to sit down with him and find out what the go is and workl through it. just try and breathe and hope evetrything will be ok sorry I have been mia lately just life is so hectic atm with ivf, family stuff and work have been trying to locate the pause button in life so I can take a moment to breathe am glad to be having time off very very soon just to let my mind and body relax and breathe. did you get and snow babies last time? I can't remember if any made it to the deep freeze.

Ive asked him what's wrong but he just wont talk. I hope its not that I went out because yes he goes out all the time without me and gets drunk. Hopefully he'll want to talk tonight - certainly hope so as I dont know how much more stress I can take.

Nup I didnt get any to freeze either time and so thats why im doing an Antagonist Cycle this time - to try and get more eggs with the hope of some to freeze. Just hope we can come up with the $$. Def gunna test tomorrow so I can move forward... Take care and good luck

Just had that split second of a thought about all the effort and so little response. But I really good grade embie at day 5 is better than one. Just not sure how many stim cycles I can cope with. I'm strong but everyone has their limits.
