just letting everyone know i am still around and still part of this thread. We are currently doing our 2nd cycle of ICSI, but we are just keeping the times and dates to ourselves.
The biggest thing i feel i am missing out on by doing IVF is the surprise, i want to be able to say 'i'm pg!' and the other person have no idea and not be expecting it. so we arent saying when pickup is, t/f or when our blood test is.

but i'm still here supporting all you girls!! and welcome to all you new girls!!

I started my puregon injections on saturday. DH helped over the net using windows live messenger which I can see and hear him and he can do the same. So I didnt feel totally alone. The only problem was today DH had dramas at work and was unable to sit with me and go through it together. He is working away (long hours to pay for treatment)
I feel like a total sooky-sooky-la-la:(
After all I have only just started.........this exciting and emotional roller coaster of ivf/icsi.

I at least gave myself the needle right this morning instead of coming out on an angle. I had problems actually pushing the button down. Is there anyone out there that has any helpful hints as to pushing the button on top of the puregon pen??? I am not seeing the clinic until wednesday so still have another 3 shots.

Wednesday is my blood test and ultrasound day to find out how many eggs are starting to grow and to check my levels. I am only on 150units of puregon as I have PCOS. So they wanted to start on low dose. Just wondering now if they will increase the doseage if things are going slow or will they just keep me on 150 for a bit longer???

One of my biggest problems is I STRESS way tooooooooo much!!!!!!!! (hence my name:lol:) But how can I not? After trying for over 15years I am :pray: that hopefully it is our time for our adorable bundle of joy to join our family of DH and our two loveable ridgebacks. Even my female ridgeback came into season......and here I was being jealous of her. She came on heat when she should. Why cant I????????:redface::redface::redface:. Now that I have written it it does sound pathetic being jealous of a dog. But at least I can have a little giggle.

Anyway enough about me. I am off to chat to DH.

Hi MrsA, and welcome to our little thread :)
In it you will find lots of women who feel exactly the same way as you do. We get it :)
All I can say is you aren't letting anyone down. But I totally understand how you feel that way. I feel it too. But it is an irrational emotion, not fact. You can't help needing assisted conception anymore than you can help needing air. It sucks but it's not your "fault".
Doing IVF you will find you had strength you didn't know you had. It comes when you least expect it. Sure, there are days you feel like crap (the hormones don't help) but you keep going. There is nothing else to do...

I hope your stay in here is short and sweet, but, while you're in here you'll receive lots of information and support from some amazingly patient and caring women.

Hello to everyone else :) I haven't been in here for a while. I have had a couple of cycles break. I was meant to start again at the beginning of this cycle (I am CD 9 today) but I have an oncologist appointment on the 11th and I need to have some blood tests before then. I don't want the FSH messing with the results. So I will go again with another antagonist cycle at the end of this one... In the meantime, I am also having tests for insulin resistance and having my thryoid looked at again. I have to say, I am feeling less and less confident it will happen for me and I will end up with a child at the end of all of this. I think I am just too old and fat :(
I am finding weightloss hard. I am just not in the right headspace. I was going really well for a few weeks then, when DD went into hospital, I just fell off the wagon. Now, things are crappy at work so I cant get my dieting mojo back :( It's so easy to always have an excuse I guess....Especially when, really, there is no excuse...

Sorry, on a bit of a downer today....

Hey I totally understand the weight issue. I had to lose weight three years ago to start treatment which I did. The only problem was FS was doing all the wrong treatment for us. It went of for over a year:( We were devasted.
But the crunch of the matter was I am a comfort eater. So what do you think I did????? EAT EAT EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After changing FS - she said I had to lose weight. I had to laugh as I said if I didnt have all this other hassel I would have been right to start treatment.
So off I went. Back to the gym and dieting. It was HARD work but everytime I went to the gym classes I always had my mind focused on the end result. HAVING OUR BABY.
I did go to my local doctor for a weigh in as I didnt want to do it at the gym. I dont want everyone knowing and talking about it. Because what happens if it doesnt work?? Having to explain to others that ALL have kids. I just couldn't do it.

Its taken me since St. Patricks day to lose 13.7kg. Its been a struggle but now I am on day 3 of my ivf icsi cycle.

Losing weight is hard for some and easier for others. My best advise is dont compare yourself to others and what may work for some might not be for you. Just keep trying different things, gym, dieting, weight watchers etc etc etc.

Whe way I do it is: with my left hand i pinch up some flab ( =P ) and with my right hand inject (resting my hand on me and sort of rolling it in) i then let go of my flab and push it down with my left hand, my right hand is still holding on and supporting the pen/needle, and my left is pushing it in. I then pull it out all good =).

AFM ~ doing ok, trying to get on with life and sort finances out (whats new lol). Towards the end I guess of a normal natural everyday cycle. Been seeing my acupuncturist and DH and I are on her Chinese herbs. Have had a few PG type signs but not getting hopes up because as we all know sometimes our bodies play tricks on us (mind games). Know I should be more positive but it is really hard. I'm trying.

I'm another one who is just popping in from time to time at the moment so HI to all you lovely ladies , welcome to the new girls , Hi Loops (hope you are doing well), Teirae - best of luck for your quiet cycle and really hope you get to spring that element of surprise to people.

Just a little question, in our previous cycles, AF has always arrived bang on time (29 days). I am CD41 so far and no sign whatsoever. I would love to say I could be preggers naturally but would almost be immaculate conception if it was, lmfao - at what point to I get in touch with my clinic and ask what's going on? I know this can be normal post ivf cycles but I am paranoid about a horribly heavy visit taking me by surprise.

My egg collection was ok. I got 9 eggs which is the most I've ever had collected. I woke up in a lot of pain and my blood pressure dropped to very low so I felt nauseaus as well. The aenesthetist got my blood pressure under control and then I could have more pain relief.
It was completely different to the last egg collection where I just had some dull cramping.
Of the 9 eggs 8 have fertilized. The transfer is tomorrow morning and I hope there are 2 good embies to transfer.

A big hello to all the people dropping in. I haven't felt much like taking a lot about this cycle. It's my 7th in total and 3rd this year so it's like hurry up and get over this first hurdle.

Mel ~ Id say its probaly from your last IVF -but If you are really concerned yes I would talk to your nurse. I'm assuming you have done a POAS for PG - you never know though hun, we got a natural BFP 3 months ago - just a shame it didnt stick.

I had my scan and bloods done on wednesday RO = 3 x folic, LO = 4 x folic
estrogen = 430
Today I had another blood and scan RO = 5 x folic, LO = 5 folic
estrogen = 1100
SOUNDS ALL GOOD??????

Well I thought so until the nurse informs me I have to go and have another blood and scan on monday as on the scan it has showed a growth in my utereus!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT????
But she says they have to investigate have a good look to know for sure if its a growth or just a shadow????

I am sooooooooo scared. Whats going to happen???

Three senarios 1 - Keep taking injections and harvest - fertilise what they get and freeze, have surgery..........(dont know what it is yet)
2 - Keep taking injections until monday until I found out results and then CANCEL cycle, have sugery
3 - or its just a shadow and keep doing what I have been.


Great - ummmm NOT. I hate not knowing whats happening inside me and I hate that I have worked sooooo very hard at my weight loss all for it now to come to NOTHING:( Yes I know - I dont know for sure. But all my hormones are already all over the place.

What can I do????

Help??? Advise??? ANYTHING - I am deperate. I am even starting to think maybe I am not meant to be a mummy:redface:

I just cant understand when you do everything right and take all the medicines - it can still send you crazy and lose hope.

That's a a bit scary and upsetting! Poor thing. I hope it is just a shadow. I have fibroids which they keep an eye on, but I would guess that the nurses would recognise fibroids...I think they are just being very cautious because they have a duty of care.

If it is a growth and they need to remove it, then it is very lucky that you are doing ivf and they found it. I would just take each day as it comes right now, there isn't much you can do until you know for sure. And when you have more information you can make a decision. I guess you'll be guided by their advice and by what you feel is right. All the best for a shadowey result!

*big hugs* SCD, I hope you get answers soon so you can work out what you need to do. Sorry I have no adivice...I guess what I would do is just keep on going with it. But that is something on you (and your DH) can decide.

Well ladies .......
Another NATURAL BFP for us :D
This time tests have been a lot stronger incl a clear blue 1-2 weeks pregnant (which means 3-4)
I am trying not to stress - have had headaches today :(
Have had a BT today - got a referral from our IVF nurse and will probably get the results 1st thing tomorrow. I'm needing loads of :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy: pretty please! xo
