Hi ladies, well AF finally arrived after a very long 40 days, yay, so I am off to my clinic tomorrow to pick up my meds ad start jabbing. I'm feeling really excited about it all now. I'm still really scared of the retrieval but am trying to keep that to the back of my
mind for now and just enjoy this for what it is (or may be).

-
Morning ladies!
Woohoo for AF Mrs Mac! Now we're only 1 day apart :) I had my first injection this morning, was a bit underwhelming, lol! I haven't thought much about the pick-up just yet, I'll worry once it gets a bit closer I guess :/
Vic, sending you more  The business venture sounds exciting, but I'm sorry it means IVF will be put on hold for a bit. I think fostering is an amazing thing to be able to do
Krikkit I hope the new pessary dose does the trick! :crossfingers:
Bee27 I hope it's good news from ANZ today!
Joeve I so hope your bleeding has/is about to stop! Good news about your AMH levels
Lyra my fingers are crossed that the one big follicle is growing nicely for you
AFM I am CD3 today. Been taking the prednisolone since yesterday, and did my first Gonal F injection this morning. Was feeling like I might chicken out while holding the needle, but I actually didn't even feel it go in! Phew! Now to wait and see if I have any delightful side-effects... I go in Saturday morning for the first bloods and scan to see how things are shaping up :crossfingers:
-
Ree yay for not feeling the needle that makes me feel better!! Although you might be much tougher than most :)
Hope everyone is having a lovely hump day!
-
Ree - Well done on your 1st injection. Its not so bad is it. I find it quite empowering. Thanks for the hugs. I am surprised that your going in so early for bloods and scan. I am usually CD9 when they check me, but I guess everyone is different. I have added you to the list too :)
Kritkit - Have updated the list :) Could be too early yet. The waiting is the worst :(
Mrs Mac - Well done on AF arriving. The pick up is not so bad and there are a lot of us in here if you have any questions who can help you out. I was really nervous last time and by blood pressure was through the roof so I had to really calm down.
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - Well the business may just go ahead :) We are in talks with our bank and have spoken to our accountant and there is a glimmer of hope. Which would be awesome as DH will be happy and we will be able to get back to IVF in a few months maybe, depending on cash flow, as this business will take pretty much all our savings. I have been working out at the local gym and starting to feel better in myself. I used to do it years ago and have forgotten how strong I can feel. I think its good to feel strong on the outside as we sure do need it on the inside.
-
Yay Vic.
Just a quick question as I really have no idea about all this. I just spoke to the clinic nurse and she has advised me that my fs had just sent her a change in my protocol which means now I am doing sniffing first which is different to what he originally planned. Could this be related to my AMH results? I have googled dear dr google to find out the difference but I know you ladies know more than that dr ;)
-
Hi Joeve
Not sure on that one, I haven't had to sniff, but there are ladies in here who have. I am sure one of them can help you.
-
Hi all,
Joeve- sorry can't help with that as I haven't had to sniff either.
Vic- sounds like things are moving on with the business so I hope things work out for you. I too have just started going to the gym and am feeling the positive results already, it's so good for your head isn't it?? Can you please add me to the list if you get the chance? I am CD 23 on FSH OI cycle and waiting for trigger
Krikkit- sounds like you are like me, I am a POAS addict! I think 7 days is pretty early so fingers crossed it changes to a BFP!
Ree ree- so glad things are moving along for you and hope you get good news for your scan! fx
Hi to everyone else!
AFM- ok so you may remember I had 1 at 14mm (sorry yes I said 1.4 before because I tend to think of them in cm, purely because it blows me away how BIG they are- 2cm for a mature follie is BIG- no wonder they are sore. In mm it doesnt sound so impressive in my crazy head :)), and then 3 at 11. Also my oestrogen had fallen :( only 230.
So today after another 48 hours of puregon (and much hand wringing and nail biting) it was... wait for it... don't fall of your seats now... 15. WHAT? 1 measly mm. Why is it not growing?? BUT the others looked the same size so I am happy that we are not cancelling yet, but I am still nervous. This cycle just doesn't feel right to me. Am very scared for my oestrogen result this avo. Will probably have to have another scan on fri and just keep praying. Mentally I am feeling a bit stronger than a few days ago, maybe because of the gym. So looking forward to that counselling session though, I wish I'd booked it in earlier.
So here's good wishes and vibes to you all. Be kind to yourselves :)
-
Mrs Mac - Congrats on AF arriving. I just had a 45/46 day cycle so really understand the frustration of having to wait for AF to start the next IVF round.
Krikkit - Really hoping that things change in the next week. I have no idea how early is too early to test but waiting is so damn hard. Thinking for you and hoping for a BFP.
ReeRee - Congrats on starting the injections. I actually quite enjoyed that stage of the treatment as odd as that probably sounds. As Vic says it is empowering. A sense that you can and are doing something to change your own situation. Hope the rest of the injections continue painlessly.
Vic - things sound really positive about the business and the future for you guys. Its awesome that you are doing something for yourself to and heading to the gym.
Joeve - sorry I haven't had to sniff anything before so dont know much about that protocol
Lyra stardust - really hoping that your follies grow some more in the coming days and you can go ahead with this cycle. It is so frustrating when our bodies just don't do what they are supposed to. Glad you are feeling stronger. I find the gym keeps me sane too. Let me know what you think of the counselling. I know every counsellor will be different but have been wondering whether its worth me going to talk to someone. This journey is just hard sometimes. And if it wasn't for all you girls it would be as lonely as hell too.
AFM - not much happening for me. Waiting for BT and US on 2nd April. Been feeling lonely and isolated from my friends lately. None know about our IVF journey and all seem too caught up in their own lives and families and babies to spend anytime with us. Maybe they are finding me difficult to be around. Moody and stuff. I don't know. All I know is some friendly distraction would be nice but I'm tired of friends cancelling on me because they are pregnant and tired or trying (badly) to hide they are pregnant again by avoiding seeing people. Have I gone crazy. I think I need a reality check.

Hi ladies
Well the good news is AF arrived the bad news is the bank hasn't come to the party so again Im bowing out of this thread for another 3 months while we minimise debt. Hopefully be back in July, DH and i are just going to focus on what we do have. All the best to you all FX your not in here when i return xx
-
Bee sorry you still have no luck with your bank. Not sure who you tried first so apologies if you know this already we were given a pamphlet for a medical credit place it was stick standard in the ivf pack. If you are interested I can look for it when I get home and pm you details?
Thanks for replying everyone maybe I will be the lone sniffer!! Scary...

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pop in and say hi :)
I havent posted for ages. Mostly because I am not cycling at the moment, but also because I have a new job and have been busy! Having a break has been good. Nice to think of other stuff for a while!
Lots of newbies in here :hello: Hopefully your stays are short :)
Good luck to everyone who is doing a cycle at the moment. Hopefully all of us will be able to "graduate" really, really soon.
I have an appt with my FS on April 26. I will probably do a FET with the two frozen embies I have. After that, maybe another stim and any FETs that may come from that. Then, I think we might call it quits. Not sure. Haven't spoken to DP but I guess we have to draw a line in the sand sometime *sigh*
On a good note, I have lost almost five kilos. Fallen off the wagon the past couple of days but back on the wagon tomorrow...I want to lose another five kilos - at least!
Anyhoo, good luck to everyone. Praying we all get that elusive BFP soon :)

Sorry to hear that Bee :( Look after yourself
Joeve - My last protocol was with the Syneral - which I had to sniff for ages!! It was part of the Down Regulation cycle - I don't know why they would have changed it on you unexpectedly - but the rationale (as I understand...) is that they are regulating your hormones, and stopping your body from doing anything - then they check to make sure your ovaries have not developed any follicles, and THEN they will stimulate the follicles to work - so they artificially stop everything and then make it happen - I understand that this means the egg quality can be better this way - certainly it worked MUCH better for me than the Antagonist cycle I did in November. I had much better number of eggs, and the puregon worked better so I had more follicles, growing at a better speed - more eggies, more fertilised, and as such - I actually HAD some left to freeze - thankfully
I think I will always do Down Reg in the future - which is a pain, cause it takes longer, but at least I know it's going to work better
Jane - it really does suck when you feel disconnected from people - maybe it's worth telling just a couple of close friends whom you trust??? I too avoid social occasions with some friends - particulary if I know they will ask, or if they are recently babied up! it's quite difficult - but I think you are right - you have to keep busy - the best thing for me has been getting the 2nd job - I can work on it at night, and it keeps me occupied.
Lyra - 15's not that bad - the nurse always said to me when I was down about the sizes - that it usually suddenly starts growing - so FX it gets there soon for you!
Vic - great to hear that it looks like the business will be a go ahead - I know how much you want this, and the waiting must really suck! You do seem to be keeping a rational brain about it all though - so remember that it's okay to hate that you have to do it this way sometimes!!! FX you get a surprise natural one - and good on you for getting to the gym - I know how hard it is to get motivated to do that!
I'd offer to do the list for you, but unfortunately I just can't get online more than once or twice a week at the moment - perhaps someone else would do it, if you are not feeling up to it??? anyone???
Ree - well done on first stabbing ;) it is anxiety provoking the first time - but surprisingly devoid of pain! I found the orgalutran and pregnyl more difficult than the Puregeon - but more than it was slightly thicker (barely!) and itchy - so was a little more irritating - hoping they all slide in nice and easy for you ;)
Hey N2L - just read your post - we are obviously on the same brain wave - (look below at my comments!) Glad to hear you are on the wagon at the moment - sucks that it might be nearing the end - and WOO HOO! for 5kg loss ;) So proud of you!
Goodness me, I feel so behind with where everyone is at! Sorry for missing most of you - but I do hope everything is going well. :hello:
AFM - I paid the the next FET yesterday - so it's all happening - I have my first scan next Tuesday morning, and start the ovulation tests on monday - so probably ET the week after easter. I have told everyone I know that we are having a break - and I am going to focus on losing weight - I keep hoping that this means I won't be jinxing myself a bit more.... ha ha... I know it's totally irrational - if it's going to stick it will!!
Last week with the nurse was the first time she saw me cry - I felt a bit like an idiot - and of course, she was lovely and very supportive, and just sat with me, it was a rough week, and while it is past now, I think I still feel drained and emotional about it all... It is the not knowing and underlying fear that it's never going to happen.... When Gecko had to give it up in december, it really resonated with me, cause I think that is all our fears - when do you know you've had enough??? When do you decide that, you are just going to 'accept' and 'be happy' with your lot in life....? or decide that you are going to be a foster parent.... ?
Obviously they are questions that each person has to answer themselves - and we are not even nearly there yet.... but.... they sit there in my mind, taunting me....
this stuff stinks really.... doesn't it.....
-
Myturn thank you so much for your explanation hugs x. Sorry you were upset, it is hard and I think each of us has a limit it's just recognizing when you get there which I hope you never have to get to. We are all here holding your hand and supporting you x
-
Ree*Ree - the needles, I don't understand why the nurses say to jab it in fast! I never did, always did it slow and never felt it. IF I have to do it again (needles) I have a huge patch of numb tummy from my c-section so it shouldn't hurt a bit!
vic261 - exciting news about the business, hope it works out!
Bee27 - so sorry about your bank, sometimes they just don't get it
myturn - whoohoo FET! :D yes, the whole "when do you give up and be happy with your life" as is taunts me too. Then I think I don't want to be 50 and still doing the school run LOL.. so somewhere between now and then!!
AFM - still peeing on sticks lol, I just stocked up again from ebay then whilst I was down the shop I grabbed another packet. I know its too early. Everything I read tells me after 12dpo -14dpo.. ho hum.. who likes waiting?! I also was pondering if you are allowed to do HRT FETs back to back? I guess not?
-
Sorry just a really quick one about me. Well my oestrogen was 600 !!!!:dance: The clinic seem sure that I will get to trigger, prob on Friday.
I'm so freakin happy!!! You would think I am UTD by the grin on my face. Suddenly feeling much more positive. This thing is a flippin roller coaster.
