Hello again ladies
Sorry this is just a quick post at the moment (i will be on later for personals, sorry). i went to the clinic today to pick up meds as AF came yesterday..hooray! I had a blood test done (today being Day 2) and just had call from FN with result FSH = 8. She said that this is quite high and not the best saying "well, i wouldn't say you are menopausal yet though"...WTF!! :oThis nurse is known to be Little Miss Pessimistic! but now i am really worried. I've done fsh tests in the past and some have been as high as 12. think my last cycle i was about 9. So my question is, please be honest with me here.....is 8 too high for day 2? What do other clinics think?

Sorry for the questions, seems there is always SOMETHING to worry about :rolleyes:

Geez, your nurse is a scare-monger!! 8's ok....I'd love an 8!!! (but your 12's not so good). FSH is a flucuating thing, and despite my overall poor responses and disappointment, my FSH never went over 12.9. Anti-mulerian hormone (hope that's spelt correctly) is a much better guide to your like response. Mine was 1.8 which was crap (but meant I could seriously think more about alternatives to my ovaries!). Have you had your AMH checked?
But despite anything and everything, it only takes one! but I hope you get loads! GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for that Sevie, i feel a lot better now! Yeah i had my AMH done was 10.8. i knew it would be lowish cause i only get about 3 or 4 eggs each collection (i'm 35 years young) Anyone else had their AMH tested, how does that compare? not sure what it all means really. i've been on the dhea for about 8 months now so maybe that is helping? dunno, am just trying to not think about it too much cause at the end of the day the body's gonna do what the body wants to do and there aint much we can really do about it!!...except keep praying for a miracle :pray:

AFM: Can't seem to stop eating but I can say that seeing the Sex and the City2 movie with mum has been awesome and have my photo's all framed up and ready to drop off at the comp tommorrow wish me luck girls if not to win something then to sell something... for a smallish sized comp there is always so much talent.
Am getting anxious and nervous about thursday i can't seem to stop myself from thinking so positive about all these signs I just wish we knew already

A bit of background info for you:- DH and I currently TTC'ing #2, and are due for an FET the week after next (HRT assisted cycle). This will be our 4th t'fer as we try for #2. Hasn't been so easy this time around, but we'll get there (I hope!).

Just a quick question from me as I'm a work. Will do more personal's tonight.

I've taken Gonal now for 4 days and I don't feel much happening. I guess I feel a little bit tighter in the abdomen than normal but that's abour it. I am beginning to wonder if it's working. How many days has it taken for others to really feel that something is happening in the ovaries? Do you always feel something more than just a tightening?

AFM ~ Not feeling as confident - still getting some tummy pain but the extra CM has disappeared. And have been a bit :'( because we have no money due to 2 many bills and debts and just feel like nothing is really going our way. For quite a while now. Kaybee ramble all you like we totally undertsand what you are going through. I too sometimes cannot face family functions etc especially after I have had another set back. As for your question on the asprin its to thin my blood and reduce white blood cells this will only be the second time I've used it they seem to think after all the tests I've done that I might not hold the embryo due to clotting.

AFM did my trigger and now just waiting for tomorrow and my FET then I guess I'll be back on the TWW rollercoaster hopefully for the last time

Loops I am a serial POASer also I just can't resist like this morning I did one and about an hr later I saw the faintest line on an agle squinting so I did another still BFN. Don't know what I was expecting.

Lisa I am unsure having not got up to the stage your at how one normally feels. I have read others reporting not feeling much happening at that stage so I am sure it is normal but some of the others will have a better answer then me.

Arielle best of luck with your FET. Hope it brings you your next BFP and baby.

True I was hungry alot with my last pregnancies I think its a good sign. Hope its a BFP for you. Your so good not POAS I think I would have by now. Don't know how I'll resist actually when I get there.

Me just waiting for AF its a day or two away. Wishing my appointment was now not a month away I just want to get started now. I guess I should be trying to get my body in better shape over the next month give me something positive to work towards.

lol mildez hopefully lol I think the only reason I haven't poas is because of the pregnyl boosters will give me a false positive dh and I did laugh and think we should to one just to prove that that second line is not a myth lol... am still having lots of symptoms but just starting to feel negative about it I think because we have never had a bfp... three days seems so long away I pity you gilrs just starting your tww

Hi Ladies,

It's been a while for me since I last visited- I'm sorry to say that it all got too much. I felt demoralised with every sad story and unsuccessful attempt and decided to opt out for a while.

Anyway, I'm back and looking forward to sharing the good and the bad that is this TTC monster!!

My story so far is that after 3 years of TTC without success I was finally referred to a FS last year. As I'm healthy, ovulate normally and our only possible issue is my endo the FS thought that we should go straight to IVF. The stim cycle went smoothly with 6 embryos the result. The first one was transferred in October, the second in January and then we had two transferred in February, all without success.

In the mean time, my husband was offered his dream job so we moved back to NSW and after a couple of months a went off to a new FS. My new doctor thought that Clomid was worth a try so we are giving that a go for a few cycles. If that is still unsuccessful, we will transfer our two remaining embryos and then have another go at a stim cycle after that.

Our second attempt with Clomid has just failed- cruelly, AF arrived last night (along with the most horrific pain) on day 31. As my cycles are usually 27-28 days I was starting to think it may have finally been my turn, but as usual- no. I had been really good to avoid the temptation to POAS- my deal with myself was that if I got to 32 days I would do it. At this stage I think I just wanted to enjoy the possibility of pregnancy!

So that's where I'm at! I hope everyone is doing as well as possible and that there is lots of success for us all soon.

Meg - welcome back. Sorry about your BFN. I know what you mean about HPTs ruining that possibility.

Loops - stay strong. I'm hoping it all ends in a BFP. :hug: I hope you get a buyer really soon for the tractor. It's not fair that IVF is so expensive.

Trueblue - the final days must be so frustrating, hang in there. GL with your comp. I just SATC2 as well, loved it.

Mildez - I know a month must seem like forever away. Hopefully you won't need the appointment and to board the IVF rollercoaster.

LMM - thanks for sharing how the after affects of EPU feel. I feel so much better. I just remember waking up from the lap and all I could say was "I'm in pain". I hope you have a great number of juicy follies on Tuesday and yay about the easy run on the roads. I do aerobics as well so will be interesting to see how I feel when exercising. I"m sure I will find it strangely reassuring to feel the little eggs. I might just check with my FS that aerobics is okay.

Kaybee - GL with your scan!

AFM: have my first scan since being on gonal tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that I'm developing a reasonable number of follicles and my dose is working.

Meg, welcome back. I hope the clomid does the trick. I just wanted to share my experience with endo since you said it was your "only possible issue". Have you had a lap to check for it? I asked our first FS about checking for endo several times and he refused each time. We did 6 IUI, 4 IVF and 1 FET with that FS and all of them were BFN. We changed to a new FS in February and the first thing he did was book me in for a lap (I finally had a doctor take my classic endo symptoms seriously). When he did the lap in March he discovered I had stage III endo and removed what he could. We did our first IVF with him in May and I'm still astounded beyond belief that it worked. If your FS actually suspects you have endo, I highly recommend getting a lap done and having it removed. In our case I honestly believe it was the cause of all our BFNs and 3 years of heartache. From what I've been told, it was also most likely the cause of our m/c last year. Endo can affect both egg quality (in my case one of my ovaries was completely covered by it) and the uterine environment.

Trueblue - when I got my BFP a few months ago the first thing I did was POAS to see if there really was a second line on those damn things. You'll get to see your own little blue line in a few days FX

Whenever I'm strong and resist POAS I do exactly the same thing - start getting excited inside (all the while telling myself not to) and interpreting every pain or sensation as pregnancy and then AF rears her unwelcome ugly head. Yogi Bear- very interesting reading your results. Especially as my egg donor's AMH was 9.3. What ranges of normal were you given? I was told between 10-20 was normal, but i've read other ranges??! Were thet fibbing a bit?
AFM- I've had the strangest week!! I thought I was pregnant! I've only been pg once and it felt exactly the same. I did a pg test (actually 4 over 4 days!) and all positive with very light but definate pink lines. Not expecting the best, I did a blood test at work (I work in a hosp as a midwife) in anticipation of watching the levels fall over the next week or so. But the test was negative...no HCG in my blood! I was very suprised...I would have sworn! (kinda sad too)
That was Wednesday. On Sunday my identical twin sister rang...she's pg! (she's fallen pg 4 times before, all with a sad end). And everytime, my body's reacted and I've known before she has! Freaky, especially the 1st time...when I was engaged (she was married) and I thought it was me that was pregnant!!...then when we found out her test, we thought it was both of us, that's how definate the symptoms were!!!! I promise I'm not even exaggerating.
I do hope for the best for her (but sadly after all this time and bad history) expecting the worst. It's so odd for me, as I'm close to starting my 1st donor egg cycle, hopefully in August!! yah!

Evening everyone,

I had my scan & bt today & I have around 8 - 10 little eggies that all look like they should be ripe. I'm now trying to stay awake as I have to trigger tonight at 10:00pm, I'm usually in bed by 08:30!! So for me, pick up is on Wed morning. We are going to try something a little different this time round & transfer two day 3 embies. So if everything goes according to plan, we should have transfer lined up for saturday.

I'm not sure who mentioned it but I take this process one day at a time. So, first making sure we get the eggs, then they fertalise, then the transfer so many little mile stones we need to reach in this ivf process!!

Sevie - how amazing, good luck to both you & your sister

Lisa - Good luck tomorrow with your first scan. I had my first last thursday which was six days of taking drugs & only had one egg at 1.5 with about ten eggs at 1.0. So in only four days that all grown up & now i'm ready to trigger.

Sevie - wow, how freaky about your twin and you!! I have heard stories like that about identical twins. I'm sad that it was a neg test for you, but also hope all goes ok with your sister, sounds like she has had a really hard time too with 4 m/c. As for the AMH i had it done through repromed in SA and they say under 14pmol/L have reduced chance of ivf success and increased m/c chance. Still jabbin for me and first scan is on friday. its always a bit nerve-wracking that first scan, as i dont respond well at all (only get a few eggs). I always fear that i'll go in and find NO follicles at all. Anyway...one step at a time eh!

Juniper- Firstly, my most heartfelt congratulations. I'm so thrilled for you. xx Thank you for your thoughts on the endo. I have had it confirmed through a lap- after 18 years of excruciating periods that no doctor was interested in, the first thing the FS did was have a look. He confirmed the endo but at that stage (April 09) it was dormant, however there was lots of scar tissue including some that was sticking my otherwise healthy ovaries down. His opinion was to give IVF a go first as he is very cautious about messing around with those delicate bits prior to a woman having at least one child. Our plan was to do 3 transfer attempts then have the surgery if we were still unsuccessful. As it turned out, my last transfer was done just before we left Cairns so I'm no longer seeing him. I had in my head that I wanted to have the surgery before doing anything else, certainly before transferring our last two precious embryos. On reviewing my file and the photos from the lap, the new FS in Wollongong (who everybody raves about) didn't think that the scar tissue was in an area that would prevent pregnancy. So the new plan is that we will have another 2 or 3 Clomid cycles, then transfer the last two embryos and if need be, do another full stim cycle. I think if it gets to that I will have the surgery before another full cycle. You know what would be great? If this damn Clomid would work and I could just get on with my life!!

Yogi Bear- Sorry Honey, I just saw your question. We still have two embryos frozen from the last IVF stim cycle but as I didn't do Clomid at all with my first FS, the new one wanted me to try it for 4 or so months. So I will do that for another 2 months and if it's still unsuccessful we will transfer the last two embryos. Failing that we will do another full IVF cycle. Fun, huh!? xxx

Ladies - wow it's SOOO busy in here!! Sorry I have been MIA and no persies today as I am really sick with what is hopefully just a cold. Have my ET tomorrow and hoping than the hideous 2WW goes quickly. Hopefully be back to normal soon but thinking of you ladies and hoping to see some BFP's in here very soon!! xxx

Firstly thank you so much for the tractor selling wishes and vibes, makes me feel so much better. I was pretty upset about everything last night. You ladies are the ones that keep me going and sane, thanks so much! Im at CD28, 14DPO and havent re-tested since my BFN on 10DPO. Normally my cycles are about 30-35days and usually I get AF on a Sunday so going by my dates most likely this Sun if Im going to get it. But then again I normally have very long cycles after IVF and with everything thats happened to my body of late I wouldnt be surprised if she were late again anyway. Although I did def O around Day 14 so nothing really makes sense. So to cut a long story short LOL, think I'll try and hold off on testing again until at least Saturday. Plus I dont have the money at the moment to buy tests anyway - which is probably a good thing in that regard

Meg ~ Hi and :welcome: back. Sorry about all your BFN's. Sounds like you and the new FS have set the plans and all sounds wise to me. I like your idea of making a pact with yourself to not test until CD32, I might have to give it a go :lol: Wishing you all the very best, FX the clomid works and you dont have to keep doing IVF etc. GL

Hi to all the other ladies I have missed.

AFM: Had my scan today. Was a bit annoyed because my appointment was rescheduled from 8am to 9am and then the FS was running late and ended up being seeing at 9.30am. I was running very late for work. Anyhow, my scan showed I had 11 follicles of which 3 were a bit smaller than the other 8. I'm relieved to see that all is going well so far. I have another scan on Thursday and will mostly likely have EPU on Sun/Mon.

AFM: Had a bit of a rough day today, my CEO talked to me today and told me my job is most likely to be finishing up at the end of June due to limited funding, I worked for them last year and lost my job when they lost funding last time but went back when it picked up as they were good to work for, it's even worse as where I am in the outback there is very few jobs on offer. Also AF is due any day and I get very emotional around when it's due.
So today was a huge emotional blow to the head because all I could think about was we may have to delay our ICSI cycle until next year and I just couldn't stop :crying: (to make matters worse they even approved all my leave for IVF in September, why couldn't they just tell me they are unsure of what's happening with funding as they know months in advance), I had to leave work and went to DH's work, (where I fill in to help out sometimes) and the General Manager came up and grabbed me in a big hug and he told me everything will be okay and they will try to help me out with more shifts because he know's how important the IVF is to us, it's nice knowing there are people out there like that.
It was a horrible feeling, I just felt like DH and I are not supposed to have children as everytime we have attempted to start IVF in the past, something else has come up and it's been delayed and the thought of delaying it again, felt like my world was coming down around me.
My apologies ladies, I just really needed to get that out and I am sorry if it didn't make sense, I am still a little all over the place!!!

Dreams - what a day!!! Hope you are feeling a little better after getting things out. I'm sure most of us have, at times, felt like we should take the hint from the universe and just give up on this dream. It's really hard not to feel like that when you're just dealt blow after blow, but it's going to happen. We're so lucky to live in a time and place where ivf and whatever else IS an option - yes, a bloody expensive, emotional and at times painful option but if it gets us that baby we'll go through almost anything. I'm sure AF isn't helping you feel any better either. Wish there was something I could say :grouphug:

Sevie - god knows how you must be feeling now after your crazy week as well. Hope you're coping.

Well some good news and some bad news last night. Good is that yes Dreams into Reality - the tractor selling vibes have worked, thanks so much to you all. A friend of a friend with a lot of money and a big slashing contract coming up has given us a verbal yes - he wants to buy it. I wont be jumping up and down until the money is in our bank account but very relieved and obviously thrilled :D Might take him a few weeks to get a little finance approved but Im happy with that.
So then because I was happier and we got a little money from DH's work I went out and bought couple of tests - wouldnt you know it BFN :shakehead:
So then we had to discuss last night would we go ahead and start the process for our July IVF or would we wait it out until Oct and save a bit more. We think its wise if we wait a bit and get rid of some debts - We are sick to death of the money stresses. So probably Oct unless we decided to go to the Melb clinic after a month or so then we can probably do it earlier.

DreamsIntoReality ~ thanks hun, now I want to return the favour. So sorry about your job :hug:. I know what that is like as I was made redundant couple yrs back from job I loved due to govt funding. Im sure you'll have no troubles finding other work, GL hun. Hoping you have a bit of time to find something else before you finish up. With all our money issues etc I felt exactly the same so completely understand how you feel like nothing goes right towards having a child. But I reckon the good time have got to come very soon for both of us, hang in there, chin up.

Hi ladies

Thankm you all for your good wishes. Had my FET yesterday at lunchtime all went well and now hoping that my little embie is snuggling in tight. Had acupunture about 2 hours after transfer and have spent the past 24 hours resting. Will go back to work tomorrow and have quite a few plans for the long weekend so hopefully wont think about it too much except when I have to take all my medications. Have thrown evrything at it this month still taking estrogen tablets now alos on asprin and the progestrone pressaries as well as my chinese herbs and vitamins. Fingers crossed this will do the trick.

AFM: Tommorrow is d day and am not feeling positive at all each time I think what if we actually get a bfp finally that horrible little part of your head that tells you but why get your hopes up nothing has worked yet so why this... I can't wait for tommorrow so we can get our answer this tww is killing me I am just trying to work out how we are going to deal with a negative I know this is only our first round of ai but when te doctors have found nothing wrong with either of you apart from dh's slightly low sperm count which shouldn't be effecting then why wouldn't the first round work...
I hate that i am feeling so negative hope you girls can stay more positive than me..

Its weird I still feel like there is something going on in my tum LOL. Maybe it was still too early - wishful thinking perhaps. Or most likely my body is still trying to get back to normal and AF is going to come on time hopefully at least.

I hope you don't mind me joining in, well I will be lurking for a little bit. DH & I have just been referred to IVF specialist (appt in July).
A brief background - TTC # 2 for 20 months with 2 m/c during this time. Tried Clomid for 6 mths & just had laparoscopy 2 weeks ago - results all clear. DH has had his SA done & all clear too, so we don't know what the issue is. Anyway, am a little muddled in the head and am still posting in the clomid/met group for the time being too. Have 1 DD (nearly 3) who took 13 months to conceive (& after two m/c) but didn't realise their was 'an issue' as such until this time around.

I am going to go back through this thread to get up to speed with you all & the terminology and also to stalk the other IVF/assisted conception thread.

sevie - I am on 400 puregon and have been around this dose for quite a few cycles. sounds like you could definitely go higher considering your previous outcomes. Are you going to try with your own eggs or do donor cycle? (sorry i forgot...told you i have memory of a fish on here :redface:)

AFM - I had my ET today, a blast which was OK looking (it compacted initially then continued to expand whatever that means). Had to stop the embryologist and FS just the transfer before as I am still pretty sick and coughing up a storm. Doc was annoyed I told him to stop but I knew I couldn't cough during the transfer. He let me sit up during the procedure and for the wait afterwards and I didn't cough again. I swear it's the stress of not being able to cough that makes you want to cough!
So it's another 2WW for me. I will be fine until this time next week when I will start counting the hours. This is a crappy rollercoaster ride we are all on!! xxx

I thought I'd come follow Rhichichi and join in here. I have my appointment for my first IVF treatment on the 22nd of June. Not sure what to expect really. I guess I'll get my schedual etc... We have our nurse coordinator appointment first and then off to the DR upstairs. I had to change our nurse coordinator appointment from Friday becaus of DH. He plays touch football for work and apparently the final is the Friday grrr.

I told DH he has to mak all the appointments from now on because I always make them when he has things on. Bout time he did something anyway lol.

Dreams into reality - Did you post a question on BH? I replyed to you. I use a diferent user name on there. See if you can guess lol.

Well yesterday and today were much better days for me. i couldn't be down about the job for too long. Whatever happens, happens and things will eventually work out. I am finishing up on the 2nd of July, so have a few weeks.
A HUGE THANK YOU to you all for the support. A big :grouphug: to you all!
I have a applied for a new job and I am hopeful, just find that being in a small town, when a full time job comes up like that, a lot of people go for it. My current CEO has given me a great reference letter so that is a plus, also DH's boss is great also and prepared to write a reference.

Kaybee: AF didn't help with te emotions the other day lol. You have said more than enough and the hug was great thank you :)

Sevie: How are you going at the moment?

Loops: Great news about the tractor, hopefully you get the money soon for it. Sorry to hear about the BFN. Your time will come soon, I know not soon enough but hang in there, we are all sending lots of positive thoughts your way. :hug:. . It is very unfair, it's worse when those people didn't even want kids, etc. It's a shame it costs so much for something that we truly yearn for. I know you are going to be a great mum when it comes to it and your children are going to know what you went through to have the little miracles in your life and they will look at you and know just how precious they are and they will be thankful you did what you did (if that makes sense).

gday girls not going to do any persies as has not been a good day I started bleeding bout lunch time while we were at a dairy seminar so had to put on a brave face till we got home. I called the nurse she's been chasing my results all day so hasn't got them yet but when i told her about the bleeding she sounded like she was going to cry with me.
So am sitting here with a milo have had a few good cry's gotta wait till morning when the nurse calsl with the results so we can start our game plan for next round which I am pretty sure will be straight away I know it was only our first round but unfortunately my gut negativity was right and it hasn't worked.

Trueblue - :hug: so sorry hunnie, it's just not fair. It must have been hard to hold it in today whilst you were at the seminar. Very brave.

DIR - hope you get that new job, my sister lived in a small town so I've heard that any opening can be like flies to honey.

Lairdoz - :goodluck: I hope this is the sticky one. I was imagining the coughing during the transfer as I have a cough as well. It's bad enough trying to delay sneezing after the syneral.

Yogi - I hope you are off the dreaded TTC treadmill really soon. You never know about that la-naturale approach. I'm sure you've heard just as many stories as I have about people on IVF but end up UTD naturally.

Julia - you've been through a lot. Don't you hate the unexplained category. I'm technically unexplained but have a range of things which 'might' compromise my chances each month. Anyhow, welcome!

AFM: had my final scan today and a few more follicles have popped up so I now have 15. I'm on standby for a call from the nurse on Saturday to advise when to trigger. Still looking at either Monday/Tuesday. Looking forward to the long weekend!!!
