Hey Ladies,
Goodluck for tomorrow Oneday and Tantee - hope you get some lovely juicy ones! I know you've already done the trigger but just wanted to say that my clinic specifically told me to inject the air bubble (unlike the cetrotide). Anyway, it's done now! I was allowed to have clear fluids until 4 hours prior to the op. FX for you both
Springlola - how did your scan go today?
Nic - yay for AF and all the best for this cycle. I wish I had some stuff to sell to pay for this cycle - might be time to search through the cupboards. Really hope this cycle ends with a lovely healthy pregnancy for you
Saffy - glad to see you're not here LOL - it hopefully means you are off enjoying yourself down there
OK Ladies - I know I have missed so many of you, but I have this insane urge to go and clean the house, so that after my transfer tomorrow I can do nothing. So nervous! (Not about the transfer - they're no problem, but just the anticipation)
Talk to you tomorrow xo

Going to apologize in advance for the me post, but I've had one on my worst days since starting the IVF roller coaster.
Although I know my swear words will be bleeped out, I will also apologize for those too
Day started off normal, went and had scan, felt pretty positive with myself that they had found an extra one...
Had call into the clinic to get some more med's, presuming a Thursday or Friday pick up.
My FS wasn't there so got the guru ****er from hell..been doing it waaaayyy too long I think, forgotten the people attached to results.
Anyway, don't even have the decencey to take me into a consult room, no figure all the woman are there for the same reason (might as well do ****ing internals as a group option too) so presents me with ....we think you should cancel..I was gob smacked, my FS had promised we were running with what ever was there. I asked him to speak to her...for that he went into another room..why the privacy now..moron...comes out to say she agree's..what I don't get a phone call or a room..fighting back tears I ask why is this happening..This is the bit that blew me away...Its because your 39 and the quality of the eggs isn't good..I whisper, but the quality of the eggs has never been tested, I've been cancelled 2 times...well he says thats why you don't get many eggs, I've been doing this a long time and I know..of course who was I to question the guru WTF..I tried to explain to him that I'd already been pg this year...and this one blew me right off my chair I actually had to catch my breath...he says, but it wasn't a viable pg was it because it failed..:o
I couldn't speak after that, except to say I wont cancel...
I'm know what he is saying is probably true..but just to treated like a human being with feelings would've made the whole experiance a bit easier to take.
So much to their delight *sic* we have egg pick up on Thursday morning. But they made sure they told me that they wouldn't do DH's biopsy until the checked my eggs were viable, save everybodies time.
I think he changed his mind when I said that we were not doing anymore IVF so it s now or never..or he won't get paid.
So sorry for the long winded story book but now I feel better...hope my swear words get bleeped...
-
OMG Springlola, that is unbelievable!!!! I can't believe that you were treated in such a horrible manner. I would think that patient privacy would be one of the first things you learn at FS101. Please don't allow the insensitive attitude of one person to cause you to lose hope in your cycle. Hopefuly you will prove them wrong. Good on you for sticking to your guns!!!!! Big hugs to you...as if this cr@p isn't hard enough without such shi%%y treatment from those you are putting all your trust in. Take care and best wishes for a better than expected result.
Kaybee - Happy house cleaning (that is considered an oxy moron in my house) Good Luck for tomorrow... at least you will be able to rest up and admire your clean house while your little embie snuggles in.
Kass, thanks for your well wishes too.
Oneday - as you know, my epu is at 12. I was told I could have tea and toast before 6, but Nothing after. I will be having the twighlight sedation as well. Can't wait to hear your results.
-
oneday - good luck with EPU I will jump on to check your numbers. As for OHSS, the worst case I had was on cycle 2 - it started like bad af pain after epu then was worse the following day then in the middle of the night I woke up with the most awful stomach pains, it hurt to get in and out of bed and I could not stand up straight. Hurt to pee also (not passing the pee but the muscle contraction if you know what I mean). FS saw me for a scan and my ovaries were swollen and I had a fair bit of fluid and a swollen tummy. Used heat packs to help with the pain and took about 2 days to settle down. Hoping you don't get it!
tantee - good luck with your epu as well, will be checking your numbers too!!
springlola - that sounds so awful, you are right and he has been doing it to long and lost contact with what sort of news he is delivering and how it is done. So glad your epu is going ahead, fx all goes well.
kaybee - all the best for et, hope this one is the one. Rest up and enjoy the tww!
kass - best of luck with what decision you make next - its all so hard
I think that is everyone - hi to anyone I have missed
afm - just cranky with af, started puregon tonight and am on 250 this time.
-
Wasn't going to come on till this afternoon but have some spare minutes before we go to sydney :)
Springlola i would be putting in a complaint!!!! that is unbelievable, sometimes my nurses will comes back out to the waiting room and tell me what time for an appointment but i would want to hope that they would never speak of something so confidential in front of a waiting room! I think you have made the right decision, they can't tell the quality of your eggs on an ultrasound they cant even tell if all follicles have eggs in them! I wish you all the best and hope you prove them wrong! xxx
Goodluck today aswell tantee xxx
Kaybee i ahve everything crossed that this little one sticks xxxx
Thanks nicole :) i havn't had any of those signs and i hope i dont get them either sounds horrible. Goodluck with your cycle xx
-
Just a quick one from me. Just too busy.
SpringLola ~ that is so appalling - I felt like crying to reading that. Big hugs!! I think I would have walked out in tears, not paid and wouldnt have gone back. So I really give you huge congrats for being so strong and sticking to your guns! Good on ya hun. xo All the best - I have faith that it will work for you. Really show that DR/nurse up - would be very cool for that to happen
Hi to everyone and thinking of you all!
There are a few currently going through IVF cycles - wishing you all the very best, :crossfingers: and :bluedust::stickyvibesgirl:
AFM ~ same ol same ol really, think AF right on the door step - cramps and very low temp. Have FS appointment on Thursday and I have a lot of q's for him - what to do next.
-
Hi ladies, well after being 40 mins late for our appointment time this morning (even know i had to be there 3 hrs before the egg collection) all because of the traffic and wet weather we got stuck in which made us late i was so stressed but it all paid off, i got 20 eggs!!!!!! we cant believe it :) i got 15 last time but we didn't think we would get that many this time. I am bit sore and bleed a bit this time but sems to have stopped now. I was awake for the whole thing and was pretty unpleasent as it was preety painfull. We still havn't made our minds up about what day we are growing the embryo's to we are waiting till we hear tomorrow how many fertilise so fingers crossed we get a good number.
How did you go Tantee?? cant wait to hear xx
-
Springlola - I too would be writing a letter of complaint - send it to head office. Not sure who you are going through but they all have a 'boss' somewhere. They can have their opinion, sure, they can advise you, of course, but to have such a sensitive consultation in a waiting room is just.....I don't even know the word. It's unbelievable. You must be crushed. Come on ovaries, prove that bastard wrong!
Oneday - excellent news! Hope tomorrow brings great fertilisation numbers too.
Nic - my mild OHSS was exactly the way you described yours. I had never read the symptoms, but now I know the nurse must have been right. Took about 2 days as well. Good luck with jabbing.
Loops - hi!
AFM - had transfer today and all went well. Very bizarrely though they transferred a very good quality (they always say that, don't they) hatching blastocyst which was one of the ones they said hadn't fertilised. So, I thought I had 3 embies, but it turns out I have 7. They explained that the others would have fertilised before they check them for signs of fertilisation, so, the 2 dots they see inside the egg to show it has fertilised had already disappeared when they checked it the day after EPU. Does that make sense? Anyway, this one was the best of the lot, so I'm obviously hoping and praying that it works but trying to not cling too tightly to the dream.
-
Oneday, that is a fantastic result!! How are you feeling now? You can always rely on Syd traffic to add to the stress. Congrats on a great number.
Kaybee - Congrats on your transfer. I haven't heard of that scenario before. Just goes to show they must be super keen embies! Best of luck for your 2WW.
AFM - Epu today and we got 11 which was a pleasant surprise to me as I was told just before going in that we were looking at about 6 good follies. Feeling quite good, just really tired and had a nanna nap this afternoon. Hoping to get good fertilisation results as last time only 1 out of 4 fertilised (although I did get a bfp from that one) so we are using ICSI this time.
-
Oneday and tantee - congratulations with your collections - they both sound like good numbers :) Hope they do really well overnight
Kaybee - Weird! Haven't heard of that before. Hatching is a good start! Hope you're relaxing
Springlola - I'm so sorry you were treated that way. It's inconsiderate, insensitive, and telling you publicly has got to be a breach of doctor-patient confidentiality. I agree with Kaybee and oneday, write and complain. Good on you for sticking up for yourself, I doubt I would have been able to in the same situation. Hope the pick up is successful on Thursday
-
Kaybee thats great, my embryo last STIM cycle was starting to hatch and that was the one i got a BFP from, so goodluck.
Tantee thats a great result too! are you growing yours till day 5 os less? i think we are going to let ours grow to day 5 but will see how they are 2mo! your doing well not to be in any pain! its really uncomfortable for me to walk but i was pretty tender before EPU prob cause i had so many eggies in there! lol but i was sore last time too for 3 days. Iv taken tomorrow off work too to get lots of rest.
I cant wait to find out how many have fertilised, they said they may not find 20 good sperm to inject but i will be so ****ed off if they waist any! and apparently they dont freeze eggs??? i asked if there is eggs left over that they couldnt inject could we freeze the eggs and they said no they dont do that.
I hope everyone else is doing well xxx
P.s is there anything to cure OHSS? or just bed rest and a heat pack?
-
oneday - wow 20 is alot!! Hope you get some nice fertilisation results. As far as I know panadol, bed rest & heat packs for ohss - if its bad call your FS, as mine checked me out, did a scan and gave me some anti inflamatory pills
tantee - nice result, hoping you get good fert results too
kaybee - my last cyle I had one that had started to hatch as well and I got a BFP, so sounds like they are good one, fx for a stress free tww
loops - good luck with your fs appointment
Hi to everyone else!
-
thanks nicole, i think i may have it the pain isnt any better, i feel bloated and the pain is right up to my ribs and i feel really gassy. I think i may have had a bit of it last time too but i feel more sore this time. they wont cancel my transfer will they?
I will give the nurse a call xx
-
I just got the call for the scientist and im shattered, only 5 fertilised! they injected 16 but only 5 took off. Now more then ever i dont know what to do about the growth he said we can still grow them to day 5 but im so scared they will all die but then i dont know if i can do a day 2 transfer because i may have OHSS im so over this.
-
Oneday: I was just about to post my congrat's on great numbers..this is such a terrible decision to have to make..Ring your clinic and ask them to keep you posted about the development of you embies...5 is still a pretty good result, are you having 1 or 2 put back.
Kaybee: I have all my :crossfingers: for you..hope this is the one...that is really bizarre that they told you the others hadn't fertilised, maybe the apprentice was watching yours :o
Tantee: good luck with fertilisation, really good numbers too..I like the way you say 'a pleasant surpirse' made me giggle...pictured sipping tea oh what a pleasant surprise LMAO
Loops: Hopefully you can get some answers on Thursday...big day for both of us Thusrday.
Nicoleh: Good luck this cycle, when are you supposed to have EPU...
AFM: Well now that I have calmed down..a bit...now I'm starting to doubt my decision. DH says it was our last one anyway so either way we were going for it. Having the 'what if's ' today..thinking about all the things that can go wrong. Like they get no eggs and my ovaries explode, or they go for DH's biopsy and then we cant get the reversal because they stab them to hard lol (I know I know little bit melodramatic :shakehead: )
I know I will be shattered if I come out of the op to be told that NOTHING was retrieved..but I guess thats what I asked for.
Thanks so much ladies for all your kind words and support, it means alot that there are so many kind hearted people in here.
Well I'm off to google some more..and do my head in a bit more...and probably have a melt down....
But I'm okay ;)
-
Oneday - this whole process is so nervewrecking. 5 is still a good number, I really hope that they continue to thrive. When will they give you your next update? Are they going to take bloods to check your Estrogen levels, perhaps this will give them an indication as to the extent of your OHSS? I know a successful transfer ie pregnancy can increase OHSS symptoms. Don't forget to drink plenty of water. Big hugs to you at this stressful time, I really hope that all goes well for you and that you keep your spirits up on this tough journey
How is your jabbing going Nicoleh?
Thanks Kass.
AFM: Am waiting for 'the call'. Feeling good except that I am crazy tired, so will bum around on the lounge today watching TV.
-
Springlola - funnily enough... I was sipping tea - in recovery!!! I lived with my Grandparents for a number of years and spent nearly every holiday with them so do slip into grannyspeak from time to time.
I really hope that you have a successful epu and prove them wrong. You are not being melodramatic, it is natural to have all of these concerns, especially when we have such little control over the situation, but don't forget there is also a large scope for success.
I too am a google queen. I google the cr@p out of just about everything!
-
Hi everyone
Oneday Sorry to hear about your fertilisation results. The whole ivf process is such a rollercoaster ride. I really hope your embie's continue to grow. My FS nurse recommended drinking Gatorade to relieve the swelling in your belly. Hope you're feeling better soon and ready for the transfer.
Springlola I really hope this is the cycle for you so you can prove that inconsiderate Dr wrong.
Kaybee Glad you got some extra embies and good luck for the 2ww.
Tantee Congrats on an excellent number of eggs. It's always nice to get a pleasant surprise.
A great big hello to you all - Kass, Saffy, Aimee, LMM, Nicole, Loops, Alice and anyone else I've missed.
AFM I've got my first scan on Friday to measure the endo lining. I know from my last cycle I needed some extra days for it to reach the minimum thickness. Going by last time my transfer should be around the 14th Dec.
I've started acupuncture again and have really noticed the difference. Going to keep it up.
